FC DEALER!
Posted 11 years agoFor those of you attending Further Confusion, I'll be a dealer there this year! Or at least that's what I've been told. To be honest I almost forgot about it!
I don't have much new stuff since I've been a bit busy, but I will be doing commissions so hopefully that will make up for it. See you there!
Also, for those of you going to BABScon, I will also be a dealer there! I'll try and get some new stuff ready for it!

UK Porn Ban
Posted 11 years agoSo... I read up on some of the new restrictions for porn videos streaming from within the UK. Oh boy! How long until this applies to fictional (read: cartoon/furry) video porn? Assuming it isn't already automatically included. Worse yet, what about still images?
Note that the restriction does not apply to streaming porn with prohibited content from outside countries. Meaning that the same porn is okay if you stream it from the US but illegal if you stream it from the UK.
For your convenience, here's the list of banned items from the Daily Beast!
Spanking
Caning
Aggressive whipping
Penetration by any object "associated with violence"
Physical or verbal abuse (regardless of consent)
Urolagnia (known as "water sports")
Role-playing as non-adults
Physical restraint
Humiliation
Female ejaculation
Strangulation
Facesitting
Fisting
I think I'll stay in the US thank you very much!

Patreon and Taxes
Posted 11 years agoJust a little thing that came from a discussion about Patreon with a friend. I wonder, are artists on Patreon keeping a little of that money on the side since it's taxable income? I know people that have gotten a wag of the finger by Uncle Sam, and I'm wondering if halfway into 2015 we'll see a lot of "EMERGENCY COMMMISSIONS! I OWE THE GOV'T MONEY!" journals. I'm not sure if Patreon would divulge customer information to the IRS but it seems like something that could be easier for the government to verify than a bunch of random paypal transactions.
Oh boy!
Posted 11 years agoGuess what I got in the mail this week!

Con's over!
Posted 11 years agoWas fun, except for the standard "I'm stuck behind a table all day" thing. Also regret not buying a few more items. Oh well. Let's do it again!
Anyway, con season is over for me. Next on my to-do list is to finish up a bunch of commissions and trades so that I can finally get my Ajin plushie!

Bronycon Coming up!
Posted 11 years agoArrangements have been set. I'll be on my way next week. My first time at Bronycon! Been a while since I've been to Baltimore too. Too bad my local friends will be elsewhere, but I'm sure I can find plenty of people at the con to hang out with!
My table is 1002A! I'll be selling shirts, stickers, and commissions and the like! Drop by and help me take home less things! Taking two heavy suitcases in the light rail is annoying. If I sell enough stuff I may be able to make one more con this year (There's a friend I want to meet somewhere in Texas, and I know there's a few pony cons there). See you there.

Bronycon: Room for 2 available
Posted 11 years agoI've got a 2 bed room at the Day's Inn across the street from the convention center for Friday - Monday, and my friends couldn't make it, so I have room for 2 in my hotel. I mostly use it to finish up whatever commissions I have left over for the day, so it will be a pretty quiet room. The rate was approximately 135 per night (tax not yet included), so between three people, that'd be close to the rate per.
Keep in mind I will be happy to boot you out of the room if you start to get annoying though. I'm not afraid to pay a little extra for some peace and quiet.
Send me a note if you're interested in the room. And see ya there!

Flight cancelled EDIT: Back on track.
Posted 11 years agoEDIT: Will be arriving shortly after 11, should get at least a couple of hours in the dealer's den. Don't be surprised if I look like a wreck though.
Apparently now I'm due to arrive in time to get to the dealer's den as it closes on Friday. Been on hold for more than four hours trying to get a better landing time (3 hours before my landline phone died, 1.5 hours on my cell at this point). Worse comes to worse, I guess I'll be there on Saturday, sigh...
For the record, this is US Airways I'm dealing with.

Ugh, Anthrocon
Posted 11 years agoI feel kinda bad with all the Anthrocon journals floating around, and then I wait to the last minute to look like I'm bandwagoning!
Anyway, I'll be at Anthrocon selling... whatever happens to be on my table! Room's taken care of and everything! I'll be at the Dealer's Den, table L01. I think that's in a corner somewhere, which is good right? Stop by and say hi!
I might be a little late, showing up Friday morning instead of the usual Thursday night, but I'll have my table ready by the afternoon at least! Just enough time for a shower!

AC: Looking for room for 2.
Posted 11 years agoMy friend and I are planning to book ourselves a room of our own for Anthrocon, but before we do, we're considering sharing a room if anyone happens to have room for two. Ideally not a place where parties will be a thing, since I'll be a dealer and need to wake up nice and early. I'm arriving early on Friday morning, staying till Monday. Send me a note if you wanna fill a few spots.
AC T-shirt Preorders: Final Call
Posted 11 years agoHey guys! I'm getting my "Geek Under the Mountain" shirt printed on Thursday of this week. I'm going to print a fairly limited assortment of sizes since I can't afford to print many.
If you would like to have a shirt in your size ready for you at the con, please fill out this form.
Additionally, if you're thinking maybe you'd like to buy one, but aren't sure yet, you can let me know, via comment or note, the size you would like, and I could use that to roughly estimate what sizes I should take.
Thanks a lot!

Surface Pro 3
Posted 11 years agoSo, they went bigger (12 inches), lighter, and thinner. They also have three different CPU types. I have the first generation and I use it for sketching and sometimes coloring (inking is tricky on a smaller screen). I'm curious how it performs. Hmm...
EDIT:
And I come to find out that Microsoft went with an N-trig digitizer instead of Wacom. What I'm hearing is that they do better with touch than Wacom, but that their inking is not quite as good. So much for that!

Commissions Closed
Posted 11 years agoLooks like I let the list grow too big, lol. I'll be replying to the requests soon! Thank you all for the interest! Might open up a few more after this set!
5 Commissions Open
Posted 11 years ago2 Anthro commissions, and 3 pony commissions are finally available! Submit your requests here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1bu.....?usp=send_form
Take note of the price changes. I somehow charged less this most recent time than last time, so that's been fixed, lol. Also, feel free to read the terms, so we don't have any problems!
If you submit a request, you'll be contacted with your commission status soon!
And if I get more requests than slots, I'll at least consider the remaining requests for the next round. You'll have to be willing to wait though.

Heads Up
Posted 11 years agoI'm still considering either buying a fursuit, or at the very least try and commission a few plushies and regular art, so I'll be opening up commissions again sometime this week to lock in a few more dollars. Keep an eye out on my Journals, or my tumblr/twitter pages for updates if you'd like to get one.
Heartbleed PSA (UPDATED)
Posted 11 years agoEDIT: Here's what I was waiting for!
http://www.tomsguide.com/us/heartbl.....ews-18597.html
/EDIT
Unfortunately it seems there’s some misinformation floating around about the Heartbleed vulnerability you might have heard about. Some sites and news reports are suggesting you change all your passwords. While changing passwords often is a good idea, it might actually be a bad idea to do so right now.
The vulnerability still affects some sites, and changing your passwords can actually expose your old and new passwords, which are in more peril now that the word is out about this thing. There is really nothing you can do about it until the sites you log in to have updated their security.
Fortunately not every site is affected. I’ve been told that the “OMG 66% of the internet!!!” is a bit exaggerated. Many sites had a different version of SSL or were not using SSL at all. What sites? It took some digging, but I did find this list:
https://github.com/musalbas/heartbl.....r/top10000.txt
This may be outdated though. If you’d like to test whether or not a service you use is vulnerable, you can try this handy tool:
http://filippo.io/Heartbleed/
And finally, here’s an article that seems to be one of the more levelheaded ones out there:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/jamesly.....-to-stay-safe/
One thing they mention is the idea that the hype can be more dangerous than the vulnerability itself. Don’t fall for phishing scams that ask you to change your password, because there’s probably going to be a lot of spam emails addressing this.
I wanted to address this because even though I think of myself as tech literate, it tooks some digging to figure out what was going on and how it affected me, and it doesn't help that sites that were vulnerable like Yahoo! haven't really addressed the problem on their sites (though supposedly they fixed the issue, I actually still have no idea), and Tumblr suggested "change all your passwords!!!" earlier.
Good luck!

Anthrocon and Bronycon
Posted 11 years agoI'm pretty much set. Only thing I need to do is figure out who I'm staying with at Anthrocon. Everything else should be in order. Should be an interesting month for me. I don't usually do two east coast cons in one season. Even more interesting with my busy schedule. I'm gonna have to run from the airport to the Dealer's Room since I'm actually arriving early Friday morning. Ew.
Stuff for Sale
Posted 11 years agoI've got some stuff that I've had stashed in my room just collecting dust, and I figure maybe someone out there could give these things a good home before I toss them up for sale somewhere else. Check out the picture here:
http://ajinarts.tumblr.com/post/81238057985/
Note me if you're interested in any of these. SHIPPING NOT INCLUDED.
Intuos3 Tablet Only (No pen): $40
This is the medium sized tablet, though it doesn't have the wide aspect ratio. Does not come with a pen cuz I still use it for my Cintiq. About the only thing wrong with it is the scratches on the plastic overlay (which you can just remove or replace) and the cable does have some cuts on it thanks to rat bites (you can see some electric tape covering it up, this is why I'm selling it for the price listed). Still works though, as you can see here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13088912/
Ipod Nano 6th Gen 8 GB (+ 2 30 pin connectors): $70
In near perfect condition, battery still good. This was actually a brand new replacement for a broken one, and then less than a year later I ended up with a 7th gen Nano, so it actually didn't get much use. This was the last version of the nano that used the 30 pin connector, so if that's your style, this will work out for you.
Boost Mobile Samsung Transform Ultra: $20
Unlikely to get a buyer for this, but this thing has a brand new battery (which came in the mail THE SAME DAY I bought a replacement phone cuz I got impatient). It's got a few blemishes, but it works just fine and has a physical keyboard. I know that's a plus for some people!
Prisma Color Pencils: $12
Unopened. I bought it a long long time ago as a gift and for some reason it didn't get gifted. It's been sitting here ever since. I'm nowhere near using up my own basic set so I don't see a need to keep these around. Take 'em off my hands.
I also have a Fender electric guitar starter set with a Roland Microcube and Pocket Rocket amplifier, but that would probably have to be a local sale (So. Cal.) Since I'm not sure I'd want to go through the trouble of shipping it. Also the guitar wasn't stored in a very proper way so I'm not sure if the neck has any warp on it.

Posted 11 years agoWatching tonight on Fox. Don't let me down Tyson!
I might watch it twice after yesterday, hearing the phrase "Why would anyone want to read or learn outside of class?" Maybe it'll wash that memory away.

Posted 11 years agoI just hit it on all my comments messages. I'm at "no messsages" for the first time in probably a year. Sorry if I never replied, but I fell behind and I didn't want to go through all 2000+, lol. Time for a fresh start!
Science!
Posted 12 years agoSo I watched some science thing yesterday. You probably don't know about it. Some guy was spitting fire at some Science Guy™ about how we can't observe the past, and that radiometric dating is unreliable and not even science.
But maybe it is possible to observe the past?
But maybe it is possible to observe the past?
Early to the party as always, Ajin is now on twitter @ajinarts. Watch me say as little as possible with as many letters as possible.
