I started selling sketches in an attempt to offer lower priced commissions, allowing more people to get art from me, but I overdo everything and my sketches end up looking like this (nsfw)! Rather than continuously raising my prices to make it worth my time, I want to try to make my sketches look more sketchy. I don't have any examples, so I'm offering these for $85! No colors this time, just an uncolored sketch.

EDIT: The hurricane shifted enough that it missed my area, for the most part. We got a lot of heavy wind, and a bunch of tornadoes, but my family was very lucky. We are okay and all is well :3 /EDIT

I'm in the direct path of Hurricane Milton (though not on the coast that it is hitting). I'm not concerned for my safety, but I wanted to post publicly in case I lose power! If I'm offline for a number of days, I'm likely without power, and probably sweaty. :c Assuming the power outage doesn't last multiple weeks, commissions should still be completed within the month.

I'll also take some $50 uncolored traditional sketch commissions! These will be loose, simple poses. I can mail them to you at your expense, once the weather clears up. You can also pay to upgrade them to a digital commission at a later date as well!

Would anyone like an experimental sketch commission? Normally $100, I'm opening a few slots at $85 each, one character. I want to try simpler poses, maybe more dynamic or cropped poses, different styles of sketchiness, coloring styles (grayscale, accent colors, etc). This is an example of my current sketch style, but I'm trying to reduce how refined the lines are. Your results will vary!

I am prone to overworking myself so, in addition to other reasons, I am wanting to switch to a model where I open a set number of slots each month. We're already a decent amount into July, and I've already been working on commissions, but I want to start the process now. SO, commissions are open until I fill 20 slots. I'm 5 in already, so I'll be taking 15 more.

At the end of July, I will open another 20 slots. These commissions are guaranteed to be completed within the month, give or take a week, assuming something happens.

I'm also going to be giving a 5% discount for anyone who spends over $1000 in a month, which is in addition to the Patreon discount. That sounds like a lot, but it happens! I want to say thank you to those who value my art that highly. ^^ It really means a lot, and it's thanks to my clients that I am able to support myself and my family doing what I love.

I have simplified my Patreon tiers. I really don't like messing around with different tiers and rewards and exclusive content, so I've never really used Patreon like a lot of artists do, but I get the occasional person asking how they can support me, so I plan to keep it going... just simpler in how I run it.

The goal?
Personal art. I am going to be drawing a minimum of one personal drawing a month, of one of my characters. For every $150 I earn through Patreon, I will either add a second character or second drawing per month. Initially I'll be posting these drawings a week early to Patreon, then publicly posting them everywhere else. After a little while, I'll switch back to posting personal work to Patreon 30 days early before posting publicly. Commissions will continue to be posted to Patreon 3 days early.

The tiers? Simple.
$5 gets you access to my early content, high res versions when available, and timelapse drawings (posted to private Patreon Discord channel only). I may also post sketches/wips and such.
$15 gets you the same as above, but also a 5 or 10% discount on commissions. Must be used within the month. I think I'm going to start creating a zipped file round up of the months content. as well, for users to download easily.

That's it! The main goal is to allow people to help fund more personal art from me, and I offer you a few bonuses as thanks.

Patreon also bugged out a bunch of times, making some of my paid posts available to the public and I'm too lazy to fix each one individially. Upfront, I just want to say that I know that this probably looks desperate or cringe. I know. If you knew the things I've gone through in the last few years (or my entire life lol), you would probably forgive me for a little bit of cringe attention seeking.

I struggle a lot with my self worth, and when I fall into depressive pits, it's hard to get out. It takes days, sometimes weeks. I often feel invisible, unwanted, not worthy, or a burden. However, over the last year or so, I've found something that fills me with joy. I've been having people come to me, unprompted, to tell me how they look up to me, are inspired by me, or how my art has greatly impacted them.

That makes me feel good. I like that I am doing something that makes someone's day/week/life better. Since FA has gotten very quiet in the last 10 years, I've sometimes felt like I throw my drawings into a void. I really appreciate comments because it reminds me that people are looking at what I share. I draw for many reasons, but one of them is to share feelings with other people in an indirect way, and I don't get the satisfaction of knowing that I've succeeded without people telling me so.

There's a lot you could say about how I should learn to accept that people are seeing my work whether they comment or not, and that there are people out there who are fans of my work who've never interacted, and I can feel good knowing that is a fact, but honestly, it's hard to remember that in the darkest days. Sometimes we need a little morale boost. Sometimes we need to hear it out loud.

So, I have a request. I must stress that I need you to respond only with your genuine thoughts and feelings. Have you ever wanted to say something nice to me but were too afraid/shy/nervous? Has my art had an impact on your life in any positive way? Have I inspired you? Please share anything you'd like me to know that I can use to remind myself that what I do matters.

Specifically, me, my art, and how it impacts you directly, not some general "you're a person so you matter". Realness, personal, please. If even one person has something to share, I will feel better knowing that my work matters to at least one more person.

I want to make a conscious effort to draw more personal art, especially for Patreon. I want to get at least one full drawing done a month, plus some sketches or such as well. I have lots of ideas that I want to draw, but I have a LOT of characters. Some of them don't get drawn enough, even though I love them. I post my art there early, and also share high res versions of my drawings, when available, among a few other things. Recently, I have made a few tweaks.

I am merging my $3 tier and $10 tier into a $7 tier, with all perks combined. Before, a $3 tier got you access to WIP/sketches, and suggestions in polls (which I haven't done much of yet, due to the small size of my audience, but feel free to suggest informally!)

The $10 tier allowed people to see my commission work posted 3 days early, and personal art 30 days early. The $10 tier also gets access to full size versions of my higher quality drawings, and first dibs on commission slots, when available (public slots are rare). You would also get to vote on polls, when they happen. I am also adding in timelapse videos going forward.

Merging both of these tiers would grant ALL of the perks listed above, for the price of $7, and the $3 tier is now a simple tip jar, with no perks. In addition, I've modified the Tank tier to include an option for funding personal art, and made a slightly cheaper version of that tier specifically for that purpose. This modified tier guarantees one new drawing of personal art per pledge per month, so if you want to contribute toward seeing more of my own characters and ideas, that tier is for you!

The new tier system is as follows:

$3: Tip, no perks
$7: WIPs, timelapse, early art, high res, first dibs on commissions
$75: $7 tier rewards, plus supporting my monthly personal art
$85: $7 tier rewards, plus a monthly sketch commission

I put most of my effort into keeping my FA account up to date, but I don't share my messy doodles or WIPs here. I use Twitter for that. However, I get very little traction on Twitter. I have a small following, and I think I'm shadowbanned, because of the NSFW content. That, and the image quality there is reduced.

I recently started posting to Patreon, but my content there is getting hidden for being NSFW. My fault for not reading the ToS more closely, but since they need to review pages before they're made public, I thought my content was appropriate.

I have a private channel on Discord for mirroring my Patreon posts, and I post my public art to the public channels there, but what about beyond my tiny Discord server? I'm looking into Postybirb so that I can expand where I post to other sites, and I'm picking up a couple sites that Postybirb can't post to, but there are so many exceptions to content that can be posted.
