Don't like to do this but I need help [Donations needed]
Posted 11 years agoTLWR: Serious haemorrhoids, major pain, surgery, recovery. No income at all, no possibility for 2+ months. Really need financial help, either donations or purchases.
Paypal: akinokaze[at]hotmail.co.uk
Because of my medical issue, I am currently unable to work and won't be able to for at least 2 months [longer if the surgeon decides I need a second surgery which seems very likely.] I have also lost any option of claiming unemployment because of this and so have absolutely no source of income at this time.
I am loath to do this, both because I don't like asking for charity or even help generally, but I really don't have any choice right now [I'm already £650 overdrawn as it is.] I really wish I could open for commissions or something but you've seen my scraps, I'm not good enough to do that yet so can only resort to this.
Anything you might be willing to donate would be seriously appreciated, I'll also be sorting my stuff out and see if I can sell off some manga, comics, books and anything else I can to try to raise some money [never did manage to sell all that manga and furry stuff I was selling a few years ago.]

So I've had a "fun" two weeks. MAJOR TMI [surgery]
Posted 11 years agoI've been suffering with haemorrhoids [which I'll just call piles from now on cause it's far easier to spell] for many years now [since at least 2006,] generally it was just a nuisance with only really one major incidence where it was a real problem till now.
On October 17th I started my first day of work in a number of years after a lengthy time on unemployment, after only two hours working in the kitchen as a line chef I was in a lot of pain from my piles. I barely made it through the shift, at the end of which I was in agony. Straight after work I went to the GP's and was given a prescription and a surgical referral request [had to wait for the forms.]
Lets say the pain here was a 4 or 5/10 [or what I thought would be a 10 at the time.]
Come Sunday the 19th the pain jumped up to a 9/10 [oh so naïve,] and I had to rind 111 and sort out going to see an out of hours GP as mine doesn't run weekends. More prescriptions, still waiting for the forms, turns out the piles had thrombosed [blood clot.]
On Wednesday the 22nd things got worse yet again and the pain reached 19-27 [based on my previous opinion of the 1-10 scale,] so made an urgent appointment with my GP, more prescriptions, finally got the forms but no-where I could get surgery had appointments so was on a waiting list where 91% get an appointment within... 18 weeks.
On Sunday the 26th things reached a level I hope never to experience again in my entire life, well over 100+ [same scale.] I was in so much pain I was constantly crying, often screaming, on the verge of passing out and could barely support my own weight. I had to call 111 again and they sent out a paramedic to check on me who then called for an ambulance to take me to hospital for a surgical assessment.
Oh, if you've ever had morphine used on you and it worked this might give you an idea of the pain. Many hours later a doctor came to check me out, said he didn't think it was thrombosed and decided he'd try to push the piles in to see if that would help circulation and reduce my pain, holy crap did that hurt and boy did I scream then. He stopped trying and went away for a while till he came back with some more doctors [probably students, it was a teaching hospital] and they gave me 10ml morphine into a cannula in my arm and tried again.... the morphine made me dizzy but didn't even slightly reduce the pain, at least not to any degree that I could feel and they had to give up.
Monday morning and the surgeon came, looked at it and didn't even try cause he could clearly see it was thrombosed and they shouldn't have even tried that [joy.] He scheduled the surgery for later that day, I had the surgery at 7pm and woke up the next day around 7am with the pain nearly gone [like a 1-3] and they discharged me from hospital on Tuesday the 28th at 7pm.
I'm in a little more pain now than I was after surgery but recovery seems to be going well and the surgeon said he wanted to see me again in about 2 months.

Free HIV testing by post [UK]
Posted 11 years agoFor those in the UK
If you want to be tested for HIV and for some reason can't/don't want to go to a GUM clinic you can be tested by post and have the result texted to you.
This is a FREE service that the Terrance Higgins Trust offers.
http://www.tht.org.uk/sexual-health.....ostal-test-kit
The kit I ordered on the 17th of January came 4 days later on the 21st, I used it that night and posted it in the morning of the 22nd. The results came on the 30th [negative.]
I have never barebacked but I do practice oral without a condom so while the risk isn't as high there was still a risk and I felt it was worth knowing for sure.
Whether you use a condom or not it's always worth getting tested.
Just remember, it takes at least a month [I think] after exposure for HIV to become detectable in bloodwork.

Like Mark Hamills cartoon and videogame Joker? Watch this.
Posted 12 years agoGotta wonder how much input Mark Hamill had into how they handled the Joker while he voiced him cause his version of the Trickster came first and this is totally the joker.
[Note: I know Joker was around long before this, I'm specifically talking about Hamill's Joker.]

No idea who they cover countrywise but they definitely do the UK despite the .com domain.

Artists, think before you act/Piracy isn't always bad [RANT]
Posted 12 years agoI will not name names here and request no-one else does if they know who I'm talking about.
An artist is having trouble with one of the various chan sites because a user requested someone post his artpack. [It hasn't been posted yet and since he doesn't want it to be posted I hope no-one uploads it.]
In one of his journals the following comment thread happened:
USER: Maybe if it is released you will get more people legitimately purchasing it from you after enjoying the contents of the downloaded copy. I do that all the time thats what i call supporting the artist if i like the work a lot i will legitly purchase it from them if it was originally paid work. I support ##### fully.
ARTIST: Not at all, who would do that? That's just hypocresy :P peopel would get for free, give it a quick look and then have it in some corner of their C: disk. Very few are the ones who, for example, download a videogame, try it out and if they like, then they buy the original thing.
ME: Guess I'm one of the few then.
Probably 90% of the furry comics and books that I own are a result of sites like this, I find them there, enjoy them and then go and buy them to support the artist. [The other 10% are either from the same people or they had originally been webcomics I read for free.]
While this kind of thing can cost people sales it can also get them more publicity and sales from people who otherwise wouldn't have found them or wouldn't have risked their money on something they only had a brief blurb to go on.
ME: Note: I'm not defending the site. You asked for your stuff to be taken down and that request removed, they should do so. I'm just saying that what the above commentor said is not hypocrisy and that sites like these can be useful sometimes.
No responses to that, no idea if he even read it.
Next day he posts another journal saying that he's taken his artpark off the net completely and stopped selling it, that he feels the only way to "win" in this situation is to not play and hope that those who have the pack won't upload it.
I made a comment that I cannot paste here because he hide the comment then blocked me over it, the comment went basically like this:
While it's upto you what you do and how you handle this issue I have to be honest.... you didn't win, you lost.
It's possible that no-one would have uploaded your artpack, this means you wouldn't have lost out on sales. By removing the pack from sale you have cost yourself sales because no-one can buy it now.
If someone did post it to the site maybe it would have cost you sales but there's no guarantee of that, most people getting things for free would just have gone without rather than paid for something.
If it was posted you may actually have gained sales as people on the fence over buying it could see what it contained and buy it [or donate to you] as a thankyou to support the artist.
By removing the pack from sale no-one can legitimately buy it and this may actually cause someone who did buy it to share it so that people can see your art.
Again, I do support him doing what he wants with his art. I just don't think he made the right choice and tried to show him how some good might come out of it....
The result... he blocked me without a single word to me and that kinda pisses me off. Why do people just assume you are a troll when you have a dissenting opinion? What happened to having the ability to have a damn discussion and different opinions?
That artist has lost any respect I had for him.

Sexuality quiz [BDSM]
Posted 12 years agoQuiz here: http://quizfarm.com/quizzes/Sex/poe.....bdsm/index.php
Taken from
hashire
- Badly worded and unexplained question is bad: 33. I don't practice any sort of fetishism (to my knowledge).
That really needed an explanation as to what definition they meant, Kink [which some mistake for fetish] or Fetish [something you require to be present for sexual gratification.]
You Scored as Experimental
Experimental.................96%
Exhibitionist / Voyeur.....86% [mostly the former :3]
Switch........................86% [Dominant bottom, mostly.]
Submissive...................79% +
Bondage......................79% +
Sadist.........................68% [don't think this is right, may have misinterpreted something.]
Masochist....................61% +
Dominant.....................54% + [While loss of control is sexy, in any sensible bondage situation it's really the bottom who has the power as they can decide the limits and end the scene.]
Degradation .................43% [don't think this one came out quite right either, think it took some of the exhibition things and interpreted them wrong.]
Vanilla.........................21%

XBoxOne, my thoughts [Pensively possitive] UPDATE!
Posted 12 years ago==============UPDATE============
Introducing the Xbox180 :3
They listened to all our anger [including that of multiple military's] and have reversed and removed most of the BS.
Now I just need a job so I can get it day one :3
================================
I'm as pissed about the price of the X1 [the UK price being grossly inflated] and many of the issues we know about [no offline gaming after 24 hours and such] as anyone but I watched the 1.5hour press conference and holy crap do they have some good games coming and seemingly an actual reason for the online stuff.
Using the cloud for the ai processing to give FAR beyond what any console could do [and it sounds like that's applying to the graphics as well] sounds potentially pretty exciting, gotta see how well it's handled.
The most intriguing thing that I heard was forza 5 [or whatever edition it was, not a racing sim fan, much prefer the fun racers.] It learns from you and creates an ai racer based on you which can race with your friends when you are offline and you can earn points based on how well it did while you were offline. [I don't agree with earning stuff while not playing but that level of ai sounds pretty cool.]
I may well get the console after it's price comes down a bit [and especially if they see their errors and remove certain restrictions.]

PC Blu-ray help still needed [VGA not acceptable?]
Posted 12 years agoI recently bought an external samsun 3d blu-ray writer, this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Sli....._gw_p_t_1_20HG
It burns data disks well but I cannot watch blu-rays with it because my PC only has onboard graphics with just a VGA output.
Apparently you need a DVI or HDMI connection to even watch blu-rays because of some complete and utter BS anti piracy crap. Apparently not being able to watch it at the best possible quality means you can't watch it at all?
Has anyone here run into this same issue and found a way to trick it into thinking you have the right connection?
Eventually I will get a graphics card for my PC that does have a HDMI port but for now I just wanna be able to watch my blurays even if they won't be at the quality they could be.

Birthday warning
Posted 12 years ago28 tomorrow so probably not gonna be a good mood day.
I already get depressed as it is but my birthdays tend to get far worse as I focus way too much on the bad stuff.
I always focus too much on the stuff I lack [job, money, relationship, etc] and not on what little I do have.
So tomorrow I may be overly emotional, sad or pissed off.
