Update
Posted a year agoJust wanted to post a public update for any that don't keep up with my ko-fi much.
I'm in the process of whittling down my backlog and have been offering people deadlines, which has really helped a lot getting things done. I'll be going through and slowly giving people deadlines that remain on my backlog, or if you're waiting you're welcome to reach out to me and set a deadline of your own, I encourage it so don't worry!
I'm still trying to get myself out of the hole I've been in for the past two years. My mental and physical health totally collapsed and I was ill and nauseous and wasting away 24/7 because I could barely even take in food. My eating still hasn't fully recovered and I still have off days, but my productivity is a whole lot better especially in the past couple months.
I'm deeply sorry to anyone I've frustrated, and deeply thankful to anyone who has given me patience. I never want it to feel like I'm neglecting anyone who has supported me or come across as if I'm being slow out of laziness. I've just been going through the hardest time of my life and am finally coming out of it and starting to feel healthier. I really thought I was going to get so ill and underweight I was going to be hospitalized, it really got scary. I've been horribly overwhelmed trying to stay on top of expenses and take only as much work as I need to scrape by while juggling both new and old work. It's been a lot, so I apologize, and there's no goal in my life bigger right now than ridding myself of my backlog and minimizing wait times in the future. I've made a lot of progress on that goal especially lately and I'm really glad for it.
So like I said, please do reach out if you're waiting on work and would like a deadline. I do my best to meet them and if I miss them your work will still be prioritized asap. I will also never hold anyone's money hostage. The last thing I want is to frustrate anybody, and I don't want people to wait to reach out once their patience is past its limit. Whether you want a deadline or otherwise I'm always willing to work things out.
Thank you guys as always, if anyone is interested in supporting me I do take commissions regularly through ko-fi, almost exclusively these days. I may go back to a few public openings once my backlog is clear, but I'll likely never take on large batches of work ever again like I have in the past.

Midyear Update
Posted 2 years agoJust thought maybe it was time to give people another update with where I'm at right now.
My older backlog is whittled down to an amount that I think I can get finished within this month (save for some of the bigger detailed pieces that will take more time). I am going to try my best to focus on that as much as I can until I get it done. It's still a goal to get it done or as close to done as I can in this month. After that it will be focusing mostly on ko-fi commissions and near everything on my plate will be newer things from this year.
Thank you guys for your patience. It's been really appreciated. I've been doing my best while continuing to struggle in my personal life. Unfortunately things have only gotten worse since my update at the beginning of the year, I'm currently battling agoraphobia and an avoidant eating disorder (which I'm unfortunately currently in a pretty nasty relapse of) and near-constant stomach issues. I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel anymore but I'm doing my best to get by and will inevitably have to seek help at some point, it's just been a very difficult step to take.
I work when I feel well enough to and it's generally a welcome distraction. So thank you guys so deeply for supporting me and being understanding through all of this.
As always feel free to note me if you have any concerns or questions about pending artwork, as always I'm happy to discuss deadlines or priorities and will do my best to work them in.

New Year Update
Posted 2 years agoIt's been a long time since I've done an update so I figured it was overdue.
2022 was by far the hardest year of my life. I don't like to discuss personal things publicly, but I know some amount of transparency is necessary to not leave people scratching their heads and frustrated.
I am still struggling a lot. My mental and physical health has been a constant fight. Without going into too much detail it's been difficult for me to do even very simple things like go to the grocery store or visit family without feeling ill from anxiety, so I've been isolated even through the holidays and haven't seen anyone for half a year. I lost 30 pounds and half my hair and it's been really difficult to crawl back up from such an intense low. I had thought finally getting my own place would fix so many things. It's hurt a lot to have something I've worked so hard for so long for feel painful and lonely and unfulfilling because I'm unable to function as a normal person would. It was a necessary step, and I don't regret it, because I couldn't even begin to crawl back up if I weren't here.
But if I can do anything to help myself I know that it's getting my work life in check. I'll be making a new tab on my public trello with weekly goals so that I'm not just staring at one big to do list. I'll add the peoples' pieces I'm planning to work on that week to that tab as each new week rolls around on Sunday. If you're feeling antsy and don't see your slot on the current week you're welcome to request/discuss with me being put on the next week's workload, but otherwise if you're fine waiting then the patience is very appreciated.
I know I owe it to everyone who's supported me to get better, and I hope better transparency and accountability in the new year will be a good first step. I'll have to take a handful of new pieces each month to stay on top of bills but I'll always be working on backlog stuff alternately.
If anybody is interested in a refund I can discuss that too but I would like to offer the option of setting a deadline like 'I would like a refund if my art isn't finished by x date'. I'm definitely alright discussing deadlines.
I'm hoping this can be a step in the right direction to feeling some level of basic functioning, and maybe some other pieces will fall into place if I can get this first and most crucial one in. I've been in a really dark place and I don't want to make the people who have supported me feel burned by staying trapped in this cycle of complete non-function.
Thank you as always to those who have helped me make it this far. I wouldn't be able to even make these first steps without that support.

Stream Speedpaint Slots
Posted 3 years agoTwo more stream speedpaint slots open to be streamed/completed tomorrow (if wondering why I'm taking these see previous journal). If unfinished will be completed the following day, and if anything comes up to delay the stream I will let you know.
Heads up that my ISP is having extended issues, so streaming is unfortunately iffy right now. If I'm unable to stream they will still be worked on and completed tomorrow or the following day.
Scene speedpaints only, $200 plus $30 for additional characters due to the expediting. Please be ready to pay and send references today so I can work on sketches tonight.
Closed for now, thank you!

Stream Speedpaint Slots
Posted 3 years agoHello, been a long time since an update!
Finally, after over a year of soul crushing house hunting, I have the perfect house under contract thanks to a wonderful family friend and the closing date is in a month! So, to help recoup some of the costs (on top of it being tax season, ouch), I will be taking a limited number of speedpaint slots to be completed on stream so as to not add to my current workload. Current work will be worked on alongside these.
I'll only be taking two at a time, and you must be ready to pay and give me your prompt/references this evening so I can work on sketches tonight and start tomorrow. This will probably be a regular occurrence for the coming months, albeit less once everything with the house is sorted, maybe once a week.
Only taking scene speedpaints, $200 and $30 for an extra character due to the expediting. If I happen to not finish on stream, what remains will be completed the following day.
Closed for now, thank you! Keep an eye out for these journals if you're interested in a stream slot in the future.

Update on Delays
Posted 4 years agoI just wanted to give everyone a little update on what's been going on without getting too specific/personal.
I've been dealing with a lot of escalating stress in my home life over the course of this year and am currently in the middle of a very stressful house hunt thanks to covid's effect on the real estate market, I am hoping to have a home secured this month or maybe next if I can't help it and get moved, and after that things will be much more stable and healthy for me.
Until then, I will be trying my best to squeeze in some productivity before the upheaval of moving and getting settled, but I didn't want to leave people in the dark as to why things were a bit slow. As always I am more than happy to offer refunds to anybody who feels the wait is unreasonable, but I am completely committed to my commission work and finishing it and I won't be taking on any more until this batch is complete or near complete. I wish I could give people a more concrete time frame but I just can't right now with everything so up in the air.
I hope everyone understands, and please feel free to reach out to me if you have any concerns!

Posted 4 years agoEdit: Slots are closed, thank you! I'll still be adding a few more to my wait list but apologies if you were a bit too late, I wish I could get to everyone!!
Please comment to claim, DO NOT NOTE ME FOR CLAIMS! Portrait ($75) and scene ($150) speedpaints only.
15 slots are available, I will contact the first 15 to comment immediately, and everyone else will receive a reply from me confirming if you would like a wait list spot, or, if you see the 15 are filled, you can request a wait list spot. Wait list will probably be about 20-30 slots or so.
Wait list spots can be pre-paid for priority once I get around to them, feel free to note me if you'd like to pre-pay, if not you can simply claim your wait list spot and I'll contact you when I'm ready for references/payment!
Confirmation of wait list spots may be a little slow as I will be focusing on correspondence for commission slots first.
Thank you so much!

Commissions Opening Tomorrow
Posted 4 years agoHey everyone! Just wanted to give a heads up that I'm going to squeeze in a few commission slots before the end of the year. Please bear in mind that I have a few current commissions left that will take priority, so these will not be started until toward the end of January!
I will be taking 15 slots and a wait list of undecided length. You are welcome to pre-pay for your wait list spot if you'd like priority once I get around to my wait list, if not it's fine if you wait to pay once I'm ready for your slot. This opening will be for scene speedpaints and portrait speedpaints only! $75 for portraits, $150 for scenes.
This will be a first come first served opening, and probably one of the last few that I do as I shift to doing more artist choice work!
The opening will be tomorrow, 12/30 at 1pm CST.
I will be working to finish up my last owed pieces in the coming weeks, if you're waiting on a piece expect to hear from me very soon!
Hope everyone has been hanging in there okay, 2020 definitely ended on a very stressful note for me but there are a lot of things on the horizon I'm really hopeful and excited about so here's to hoping 2021 brings better things.
Thank you all so much!

Posted 5 years agoWanted to try something new as I'm really struggling to get my hand and my mind loosened back up and in gear with art now that I'm starting to feel more well again, and portraits are always really relaxing and low-pressure for me, so I thought some experimental slots might be fun to try while I attempt to get back into things!
You may give me a loose idea like theme, mood, character personality, but I would prefer these to be mostly artistic freedom! I want to try a more slice-of-life feel with more interesting framing/angles, and maybe experiment with style as far as coloring and background rendering goes as well.
On that note please don't expect it to look like my current portraits in terms of rendering! These are experimental and I can't say which way they're going to go until I start working on them and feel it out.
$100 per slot, +$40 for additional character!
Opening for 4 slots for now, FCFS, comment below and I'll confirm for you to note me with details.

Commission Delays
Posted 5 years agoHope you are all holding up okay in this crazy situation we're all living through right now!
Just wanted to give people waiting an update on where I'm at at the moment, I am trying to slowly work my way through remaining owed work, of which there's not much, but I do want to get the vast majority of it done before I take on anything else.
My health has been inexplicably not great over the past few weeks, so things are coming along much more slowly than I'd like. I've been dealing with a lot of random GI upset and low fevers and am pretty clueless (I know covid can manifest this way but I wasn't really aware until recently so hadn't considered testing). I've been extremely isolated since this all started but it could be, it may not be, but either way I've been feeling pretty unwell, and am trying to work through the rust from the period I haven't been able to work, which has been a challenge.
Once I'm feeling more normal I do want to keep workloads very small so I will do only artist choice commissions in small batches just in case there are any extra delays if my health continues to be spotty.
Thank you guys for the patience and I'll hopefully update again soon on when I plan to take on more work!

Commissions Update
Posted 5 years agoDue to the situation with the coronavirus going off right now I've been debating on if it's really a good time for a large scale commission opening as I know now is going to be a time of a lot of upheaval and uncertainty for a lot of people and we're all being affected on some level. I think for the time being once I get ready to take on new work I'll just take on some small unannounced (or announced? I really don't like to make people stress and scramble for a small number of slots, but if people feel that's better I can consider) openings for a handful of slots at a time and keep my workload small for a better time in the future, both for myself and for others who may be going through a rough time right now. Maybe it'd be a good time for an artist choice opening as well rather than a FCFS opening, who knows!
I hope everyone is staying safe, please take care of yourself and your loved ones!

Commissions Update
Posted 5 years agoJust wanted to let everyone know where I'm at with commission work!
Been trying to tear through my workload these past few months and am nearing the end of my current slots, and odds are high I'll be opening again in mid or mid-late march! I've definitely been feeling the motivation these past several months and am really proud with how productive I have been. I'm really excited to take on more new work soon already after taking on so much work last time I opened!
So keep your eyes peeled for an opening date announcement, I'm not quite sure how I'll do it next time but I will likely still be keeping the mix of FCFS slots and artist choice slots plus a wait list. If anybody would like to secure a spot on the wait list at the time of opening I'll allow people to pay up front for their commission since I know sometimes once I get to people on the wait list their financial situation is no longer suitable for commissions, and of course I am always happy to issue refunds on work I haven't started if you find yourself in a bind!
But that's about it for now, just wanted to give people a heads up, and I'll resume posting my recent work to my gallery soon, so sorry for falling off the wagon with that yet again! Always having to fight my internet recluse habits.
Thanks as always!

Happy New Year!
Posted 5 years agoJust wanted to wish everyone a happy new years, I hope the new year brings good things to everyone!
2019 was one of the roughest years of my life with my anxiety destroying my ability to function and consuming my every waking hour, but I'm starting off 2020 in such a good place, and I can't remember the last time I had a panic attack. My productivity is also higher than it's ever been, and I feel like I came through a really bad time a more motivated and determined person than ever, and I'm so ready for this year to bring huge exciting changes to my life! Thank you to everyone for the kindness, patience, support, and everything else! Working for the furry community these past few years has been a blessing and I never really thought I'd be able to make it as a freelancer, but I'm finally feeling like I can do this.
For other small updates, my commissions Trello and Ko-fi links have been added to my profile, my Trello is updated every time I finish a commission and you can track how things are moving along whether you're waiting for a pending commission or wanting to know how close I may be to taking on new work (which will be very soon for those of you in my wait list!). And Ko-fi is there as a tip jar for anyone who wants to throw me a few dollars of support, anything means the world! As a perk supporting even one time will get you access to my high res work and a lot of work I don't post here for 30 days, but of course monthly supporters get that continuously as well as commission slot dibs when I open!
That's about it, thank you guys again, I look forward to all the new work I get to take on in the new year!!

New Public Work Trello
Posted 5 years agoI usually just keep a private google spreadsheet to keep track of my commission work, but I realize that leaves my commissioners sort of in the dark as to where I am in my current workload, so I figured I'd set up a public trello for people to keep eyes on if they want to know what my progress is or how close I may be to another commission opening (or in this case taking work from my queue)! Do keep in mind though that I tend to work in random order, so the names are in no particular order and I tend to jump around except for specific due dates.

Support me on Ko-fi!
Posted 6 years agoI had heard Ko-fi was really stepping up as a platform for sharing artwork and giving more tools for support as an almost Patreon-like platform, so I'm testing the waters with their gold membership by trying out the monthly subscriptions!
For now I'll be using it to post my work, available as full resolution downloads. Apparently they may be adding ways to have tiers of support like Patreon, but for now I think this is a good and simple place to start! I'll also be giving Ko-fi monthly supporters first dibs on commissions when I get there, but that likely won't be until Jan-Feb. I figure this might be a good alternative to restarting a Patreon page, especially since Ko-fi doesn't take any fees.
If you wanna throw a couple bucks my way for high res files and commission dibs, my monthly sub is $5 on Ko-fi! Just remember to click on monthly rather than one time! But even if you just wanna throw a one time tip my way, that's always extremely appreciated too.

FCFS Commissions Closed
Posted 6 years agoPlease comment to claim a slot, the first ten people to comment will get a slot!
To cut down on the messiness in the event people wanting slot claims don't want to be on the wait list I will not be individually replying to people who don't make initial claims to ask if they'd like a wait list spot, instead if you see you aren't within the first 10, please comment again with 'wait list' included in the comment to claim a wait list spot.
I will reply to the first ten slot claims to have information noted to me for your order, and I'll reply to the first 20 to claim a wait list spot to confirm!
Artist choice slots will go up in another journal, possibly a little after this one depending on if FA has a mandatory wait to post another journal.

Commissions Opening 11/2
Posted 6 years agoCommissions will be opening this Saturday, 11/2, at 2PM CST!
There will be 10 first come, first served slots and 10 artist choice slots. If you miss a FCFS slot, there will be a second journal put up for artist choice slots where you can fill out a form to try for those. Alternatively, I will be taking a wait list of 20 people. I'll be making two journals, one for FCFS slots and the wait list, the other for artist choice slots. Once FCFS slots are filled, you'll have to comment on the journal (again, if you missed) asking to be wait listed, the wait list is also FCFS. Artist choice slots will have priority given to people who have never had the opportunity to commission me yet. Artist choice slots will be open for 24 hours before prompts will be selected.
Slots will be per person and for this opening there will be four commission types available-
Scene Speedpaint - $150
Portrait Speedpaint - $75
Pixel Icon (100x100px) - $20
Pixel Sprite (200+px) - $35
Full details and info - http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/9269974/
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns, looking forward to seeing what new things I get to create!

Commissions opening in one week
Posted 6 years agoJust wanted to give a little advance notice that I'll finally be opening commissions next weekend! Will be taking this week to finish off the few commissions I have left, but everything should be done or close to done by next weekend. I'll post another journal before then with full details, as I'm still on the fence with how many slots I want to offer.
The problem being I know some people have been waiting so long that I want enough people to get a slot, but I also don't want to overwhelm myself and bog down wait times by taking on too much, so I'm on the fence with how many slots to offer. The perk with fewer being opening again sooner, the perk with more being more people getting a slot for this particular opening (but it may push opening again a ways off). Any thoughts on this? I struggle a lot with not wanting to disappoint/leave out people, but at the expense of overwhelming myself sometimes!
I can consider taking a short queue if demand is high, slots will likely be a mix of FCFS and artist choice. No scene commissions as those are the big things I get bogged down on when taking them at the same time as speedpaints, but I'll likely offer both speedpaint options and pixel icons/sprites.
Thank you guys so much for your patience through what has been one of the roughest, longest patches of my life! I'm sorry it took me so long to reach this point, it felt like every time I staggered to my feet I just got knocked right back down by something else, but I'm in a good spot for now and more motivated with art than ever.

Reminder that prints are available!
Posted 6 years agoSince I keep forgetting to mention it when I do commission openings, I thought I'd post a reminder that you are welcome to get prints from me of your commissioned pieces at any time, whether it's when you order or after the fact.
Here are my print prices:
8"x10" - $10 + shipping
11"x14" - $13 + shipping
13"x19" - $16 + shipping
For your reference for shipping costs I live in the US.
Sizes are rough estimates, I will either fit the piece within these dimensions or dimensions you specify (this will mean the piece will likely have edges cropped off) or I can print the piece uncropped roughly within these dimensions.
I have a professional quality printer, you can see examples of the print quality here - http://www.furaffinity.net/view/23210240/
They're printed with pigment based ink on archival quality heavy weight paper with a satin finish.
You can note me anytime if you'd like to snag a print of your commissioned work! This only applies to commissioners getting prints of their own commissioned pieces.

Three Waiyumi Designs for Sale
Posted 6 years agoHaving some financial worries so I'm considering resales on these three designs:
https://toyhou.se/3654749.gray#12516607
https://toyhou.se/3358772.oni#11561754 PENDING
https://toyhou.se/2483328.angel#8662539
Gray's value is around $500.
Angel is SUPER tentative and her value is high. You may note me to discuss her resale if you're interested in her, but be aware her value is considerably higher than the two above.
I'll consider payment plans but I've had a lot of headache with them lately so I don't know if I'd take them for longer than a month or two.
Feel free to note to discuss or claim them!

Small Update
Posted 6 years agoJust wanted to let people know where I'm at art wise.
I'm still finishing up scene commissions and will be getting back to the couple of people I have on a waitlist for them within the month. Last month I had a back injury that put me out of work for a bit as well as a deadline that took up a LOT of my art time on top of that, so it ground things to a halt for a while.
I'm fully recovered though and back to working on things! I'll be focusing on the scenes I have left to do for now as I don't want to take on any more work until they're complete. But, after that, I think I'll start doing regular in-stream commissions for things like portrait/scene speedpaints, or whatever I'm in the mood for! And I'll reopen for speedpaints too once the scenes are finished. Can't really give a concrete eta for that but hopefully next month!
