Strawberrymilk Design for Trade
Posted 6 years agohttps://toyhou.se/3548345.momo#12179538
Got this girl in a custom trade a while back and then ended up getting a dream design by her that's very similar, so I figured I'd see if anybody was interested in trading for this girl!
I'll look at anything but I'm particularly interested in swaps for other strawberrymilk designs, and also really love jush's designs. If I don't find anything I'm interested in I'll consider art!
https://toyhou.se/akitamonster/char...../folder:268089
Also got a small handful of designs here for sale, but will only sell the closed species designs to active deviantart users.

Update
Posted 6 years agoFigured I should give a little update to let people know where I'm at!
I've got 3 people left to complete work for and after that my commission slots are clear. I've been taking work pretty sparsely and haven't done any real openings yet this year, but I will be taking on new work this month. I'm going to continue taking on small batches on an artist choice basis for now, as I feel that's in my best interest in terms of where I'm at right now.
I had an unexpectedly really rough start to the year that hit me through december into early february. My mental health hit an all time low, and although I don't want to go into too much detail at the risk of being tmi, the anxiety was debilitating and even bad enough I had thought I was having a heart attack and got hit with a very large medical bill for nothing and could barely eat or function for a long while after I was so terrified and rattled. It's taken me a long time to recover, but taking cbd has been pretty life changing for me and anxiety doesn't have such an iron grip on my every waking minute. It's a struggle and it did effect my productivity greatly. I feel bad for the people I may have disappointed in that time period who were waiting on work from me and I was afraid of being overly transparent as to why, but it was genuinely one of the hardest periods of my life in terms of my mental health.
It's something I was debating on even mentioning, as I worry it's something people see as shameful, but it also feels wrong to have people waiting on you without giving any indication as to what the hold up is beyond an apology for being slow. I don't say this as an excuse, just a reason, and I'm going to continue altering the ways I take on work to minimize any potential wait or disappointment as I continue trying to grapple with my mental health.
All that said though, I am feeling much better and hoping taking cbd continues to be such an amazing blessing for me, as I went from 24/7 heart palpitations and several anxiety attacks in january to almost nothing all through february. It's not 100%, but it is a dramatic change, and I'm happy to be restoring my productivity and functioning.
I thank you all as always for your support and patience, and I look forward to taking on more new work soon! I'll put up a journal sometime later this month to take on prompts, or I'll leave people the option of referring me to their old comment made on my November journal last year if you're still interested in getting the same prompt. I'll likely take on small batches of less than 5 at a time, and see how it goes! I may take on some prompts for a scene commission or two too.

More Characters for Sale
Posted 6 years agoAdded a couple more characters for sale, including a sleepygills design. Love these babes but I'd like to recoup a little after the holidays and need to thin down my character hoard.
Feel free to make lower offers, and I can also take payment plans.

December Update
Posted 6 years agoJust wanted to drop a little update before the new year to let people know where I'm at!
December has been an unexpectedly overwhelming and stressful month to say the least, so I think for the rest of the month I'm just gonna focus on finishing out my owed work and letting things chill. I got SO many good prompts on my speedpaint opening, and I'm really sad I didn't get to get around to more of them!! In the future I'll probably do a mix of first come first served AND artist choice openings, so maybe that'll give people a good mix of ways to get art from me, but it'll still all be in small easily managed batches.
I also got my new shop opened, which I hope to sink a good amount of time into filling up with new merch! I miss it a lot, and I'm looking forward to getting to dabble in more fanart stuff again since it was the majority of what I drew before I started commission work. Check it out here if you wanna! Very empty, but it's a work in progress!
https://akitamonster.com/
So I'll get what I have left done and then I'll take some new commissions in January. I'm a little on the fence on if I just want to keep the speedpaint journal from November and continue picking from that or make a new one? There were so many prompts that I wanted to get around to, but I guess I'll see how you guys feel about it! I know a lot of people are tapped financially after the holidays, so that's why I'd consider a fresh journal in case people can't do it so soon after the holidays.
Hope everyone has a lovely holiday!

November Speedpaint Commissions OPEN
Posted 7 years agoHey all, I'm now open for new prompts! These prompts will be ARTIST CHOICE, so I will be selecting from the comments which prompts inspire me the most. Within the next couple of hours I will be choosing several to start with and working in small batches, if you comment here you can expect a note anytime through November if I select your prompt! This journal will remain open for prompt submissions at any time, a fresh journal will likely be made every month or two, if I don't choose you this time you're welcome to resubmit next time.
If you'd like an idea of what I'm most likely to pick:
-Natural landscapes
-Anything with water
-Artistic freedom
Less likely to pick at this time:
-Cityscapes
You may order multiple things, and though I may not choose your entire order, I am more likely to do your entire order if I choose you. You can also give me multiple prompts to choose from if you only want one piece!
Please fill out this form in the comments below:

Update + Commissions opening tomorrow!
Posted 7 years agoHey guys, it's been a LONG time! But I'm excited to announce I'm finally clear and ready to take on new work.
But, that said, I'm changing some things with my openings, so bear with me, as I know this is a lot of text! I took some time to get through all my Patreon stuff and what was left of my slots/wait list, and now that's all done. It's been a long time since I've opened because so much stuff happened and with starting Patreon and taking sub slots from there, that ate up a lot of my time on commission work.
I've decided to sit Patreon aside for now, and posted an update about it on Patreon to any patrons who haven't seen it yet. I want to focus on taking some commission work from FA for now since I feel bad I haven't been able to in so long and I get notes so often asking when I'll be opening again. I've been fighting a bit of burn out because I was so bogged down in my old way of taking commission work with very long wait lists, and it's just something I need to put a stop to for future openings. I felt pressured to ONLY do commission work when I had a standing wait list, and it left no time for me to have fun with things like YCHs, designing, personal work, special commission offers, etc. And with that style of opening, I was often stacked up with very large orders that would take days to complete for a single order, and that's something I need to not do anymore either.
Things are changing to suit what I think will allow for the most productivity and motivation for me, and all around I think it'll be better for me and the people commissioning me.
So, about the opening!
For now, I won't be taking first come first served commissions. I'll be putting up a journal calling for prompts, and it'll be left open, so there's absolutely no rush on this! I'll just ask for character refs, commission type, and a simple description of your idea. I'll pick the prompts that I am most interested in and note people for further payments/details.
This opening will be for speedpaints only for now! That said, those are also changing. I've gone substantially overtime on almost all of the timed drawings I've done lately, and not because I've taken it slower or anything, but I just prefer spending more time on things to get a higher finish quality because I've kind of grown tired of trying to cram everything into a time limit.
So 'one hour' drawings will now be called Portrait Speedpaints, 'two hour' drawings will now be called Scene Speedpaints. These will not have the same time limits, but will still be speedpaints, and they will retain a similar 'cropping' to one and two hour drawings, with portrait speedpaints having a tighter crop around the character and less environment, and scene speedpaints having more of an environment. They will essentially look the same as what my one/two hour drawings looked framing-wise, but with a bit more polish like recent uploads have had! If you're curious in terms of time, it'll be around 1.5-2 hours for portrait speedpaints, and 3ish hours for scene speedpaints.
So prices will be different for these, portrait speedpaints will be $60, scene speedpaints will be $120. If I feel more up to doing some quicker drawings again in the future, I may take some slots for cheaper drawings to give people that can't afford these an opportunity, but for now I prefer having some extra time to polish things off more nicely! And it remains that there's no charge for 2 characters for these, but anything over 3 will need to have an extra charge discussed.
I'll still be taking other commission types, but not immediately! Scenes will be taken occasionally in separate openings so that I'm not taking on too many of those at once. Scenes will have a slight price bump to start at $250 and will remain pay what you want as they always have.
As for the opening time, I'll be posting the journal tomorrow at 10AM CST, and again there's no rush on this, it'll be left open and I'll select from it! But, if you want to nab an early slot, I'll be selecting the first several that catch my eye tomorrow afternoon. I'll likely leave the journal up for a month, and you can anticipate a note anytime through November if I choose your prompt. If you no longer want the commission you can just hide your comment. I'll probably make a fresh journal at the start of each month, and will be taking these in small batches, so turnaround time will be about a week to two weeks. I'll also be taking slots on a per piece basis and not per person. You're welcome to give me multiple prompts, and I'm more likely to accept your whole order if I choose you, but it'll mean I pick fewer people if I pick people that want numerous pieces.
Sorry this is a lot of info, it's just a lot to change, and I just want to make sure everything is clear! Please feel free to ask if you have any issues or questions!
I think that's about it, I'm looking forward to taking on new work and enjoying this clean slate and much more manageable way of taking commissoins! I hope this makes everyone feel a bit more like they have a chance since my FCFS openings have gone so quickly in the past. I will do FCFS openings again, but for now artist choice is best for me.
Thanks guys!!

Update! Future changes, patreon slots, etc
Posted 7 years agoHey guys, sorry it's been such a slow trudge through this last round of commissions!
I've got one more batch of the old queue left and after that I am officially done taking queues in the future. It's inflexible, tiresome, and makes gaps between openings much, much too large. I end up getting a bunch of large orders at once since I let people order as much as they'd like, and the result is slots that can take a huge amount of time to get through if I get a bunch at once, which I often do. It also leaves me feeling like I absolutely can't draw anything unless it's commissions from my queue, which given these take so long to get through, I end up never drawing anything I want to.
In the future, I'll be taking monthly limited openings with no wait list, and I will request people comment with how much they want in their order (say you want two two hour drawings, a one hour drawing, and a mini, I'll have you comment with that list so I know what to expect from your order) and normal openings will still work on a first come, first served basis, but I'll accept orders until I've hit a certain amount that I can complete within a month. I'll be taking half my slots from patreon, half from here. I'll also be bumping up my prices a little since I've been spending extra time on things lately to make them a nicer finish quality.
I'll also do some non-standard openings where I only open for certain types, do non-fcfs openings where I choose what I want to do, and I'll be making time for YCH auctions with scenes of my choosing and design sales. All in all this'll be more flexible, more productive, less overwhelming, and give people more opportunities to commission me! I'm really excited and relieved to be changing things up, and I'm looking forward to the freedom and flexibility this will allow me.
I also have a couple of patreon subscription tier slots open! Most that I opened last night have been snagged, but I have one two hour slot and two one hour slots open, plus "sketch" slots, which can get you something like this - https://sta.sh/0hldrpefvmz and you can also save your time from any tier to compile your hours across months! So two sketch tier months can get you a one hour, two one hour months can get you a two hour, etc.
It's been a rocky past several months but I am feeling much better and am getting the help of some very lovely friends to stay on top of things, one of which is getting a new commission set up going for me and another friend will be posting art for me, so it'll be more active from now on! I've been feeling really bogged down and overwhelmed, but I'm feeling really refreshed with all these changes and the help I've received, and I'm looking forward to the next few months!
Thanks guys as always, I really appreciate the interest in my work, and I hope I can make things run a little smoother so I can give you more opportunities to receive art from me!

After I've finished the current batch, I'll contact the people in the queue to see if they'd like to be added to the current slots open. I typically work in batches of 15-20 people. Multiple drawings per person are fine.
Also just a note, if I've messaged you and receive no response, it basically bumps you out of the queue and that's that. So long as I've messaged you and you respond, even if you take a while and I've filled the other slots, I will give you a slot, but you'll be behind the others that have already responded and paid.

1-2 Hour
Drawings done within a set time limit. There is no charge for extra characters but take into account that 2+ characters eat up more time and would be best for the 2 hour price. What I'm able to do within the time limit will vary depending on complexity of characters or if there are multiple characters, therefore some will have environments and some will not. If you'd like to specify an environment beforehand you may, otherwise I'll do what I feel is best.

Experimental
Experimental/artistic freedom drawings done in a style of my choosing outside of the style I normally work in. You can loosely dictate a style or theme if you wish.
$100
Examples - X X X
Simple Scenes
Simplistic backgrounds, there will be a hint of an environment but no complex/detailed landscapes. You can be as specific as you want or give me an idea of what sort of environment you'd like. If not, you can give me freedom to choose.
$140
+$40 for additional characters

Scenes
Starting at $200
Mostly works on a pay what you want basis. Price will increase depending on complexity of environments and additional characters, with mid-range being drawings with a large amount of trees and plants and the higher end of the range being things requiring extensive layout of perspective such as cityscapes, room interiors, etc.

Prints
All commissioners have the option to have their commission work printed on my home printer (a Canon Pixma Pro-1) and sent to them via mail. Prints are done on satin archival 250 gsm paper with pigment ink. If you want an easily framed size or a size that is 8"x10" or larger please let me know beforehand so I can adjust the resolution accordingly, otherwise I can't promise the final size will be large enough to be printed! 11"x17" and 13"x19" is reserved for portraits, simple scenes, and scenes only and must be specified beforehand.
5"x7" - $5
8"x10" - $8
