New PC, new setup! >3

My new PC is:
Intel Core i3 3.2GHz, Nvidia Geforce 9500 GT, 16GB RAM, and I almost have a TB of space D:
I upgraded from an Intel Celeron smth + Microsoft "videocard" thingie + 2GB RAM + 80GB HDD PC, where I had to start using tricks to even install programs, so this is a big change for me!
I can finally use Photoshop CC! wooo! I was using CS2, and even that froze on me sometimes, especially when I was streaming, I could only use it to edit stuff, not to paint.
and wow Skyrim looks different with more than 2 FPS and actual textures, not in 800x600 resolution, and not with the cursor dragging half a screen behind O.O
(Speaking of which, my Nexus mod manager is dead, crashes when I start it, did anyone else encounter this problem?)
so, with new advances, I'll continue working! Updates on commissions will be coming soon!

i cannot work, update or stream for about a week until i get a new pc.

Why am I so slow with commissions/what am i doing about it
Posted 10 years agopeople who followed me long probably know this part, but i got a huge amount of followers lately so here it is:
very shortly the story: in 2014 january I had to leave my home, and was basically reduced to nothing. I took up 10 commissions, 10 huge illustrations for very cheap because i needed money immediately. that wouldnt have been a problem if the next year wasn't the worst time of my life - allergic reaction, tablet broke twice, pc died, depression, cat died, etc.
and so my commission queue kept growing. and growing. because i had to take on new ones to make a living but didn't have time to finish old ones.
at that time i was really slow, its actually the pressure from those commissions that thought me how to draw faster.
currently my queue is over 60 images. that's not a typo. that is approximated to be around 680 hours of work.
this is how badly i screwed this up.
i'm working daily 10 hours, but even with that, if everything is awesome, it would took 2-3 months to complete my queue - but i need new commissions, because i need food, rent, bills, catfood...
the order i go through these commissions is not always logical. i try to order them. i put up an excel, put in a lot of factors and generated an order based on priority, i'm more or less following that. but still its not perfect. this is why some commissions seem super fast, and some are just untouched for months.
it depresses me a lot and i know i'm a horrible person. i literally neglected my own life only to make up for this. haven't been out for that 1.5 years at all, no holidays, no parties, no meeting with friends, even broke up with my boyfriend to have more time. (and he had a gorgeous abs so you better feel me here °^° )
what am i doing about it?
i'm currently working very little on those commissions, taking off 1-2 weeks to just create a bunch of pre-rendered YCHs - so in the next 3 months i can just sell one of those every weekend, finish it right away, and i will have the rest of the week to work on the old ones. its still months, but considering this has been going on for almost 2 years, that's a lot better plan than my previous ones. actually, i have a plan that could work. that's new already.
what can you do to help?
first and most i ask patience. note-ing me for a progress update on your commissions every once in a while is of course fine, but please don't shoot a note to me on every single day, especially not on my private channels (email, skype). it frustrates me enough, and if i'm on skype, chances are i'm already frustrated and i'm there to cool off with my friends, and you are not making me faster. actually, the opposite.
also, do not pity me, no pity gifts, no "omg im so sorry". i screwed up and i'm doing all i can to fix the mess i made. i'm not making these journals to make you feel sorry about me, im making them so my commissioners know whats up.
i really really want the day to come when my backlog is finished. that will be the happiest day of my life *-*

Posted 10 years agoThis day marks the third day in my life I didn't go to sleep with migraine, got an anxiety attack, and just woke up with a smile on my face, and jumped to work right away! now its great fun, and not a must-do chore anymore.
I don't have to worry about food or bills anymore, my life is secured. That is something I haven't experienced before. Not without heavily depending on someone, and that didn't make me feel secure at all.
And simply that i don't feel hated by everyone anymore, I know I have a place where people (more or less x3 ) accept me.
Took off so much stress and depression off of me, I don't have a way of telling you. There were times I couldn't draw for weeks, and to my shame, I was heavily thinking on even suicide. The only thing keeping me was the pressure from the promised commissions. Selfish from me, keeping them to myself, not giving out my first batch for so much time, but in the end it saved my life. (that was not the reason i didn't complete them though)
but not anymore!
not that i can suddenly buy new work equipment or clothes, haha, but at least I feel (and hope) I'm over the worst part of my life!
And it's all thanks for the furry community! ^^

ok, so here are some clarifications:
you cannot commission me to do stuff from this or that universe, that is not licensed under equal or lower than CC BY-SA. (in human tongue: the creator allows for commercial reuse of their stuff (eg. Sintel))
examples:
I will not draw your character with Sephiroth in a commissioned work.
I will not draw your character cosplaying as Sephiroth in a commissioned work.
I will draw your character with Sephiroth in a free artwork you somehow got from me. labeled "fanart"
I will draw your character cosplaying Sephiroth in a free artwork. labeled "fanart"
I will draw just Sephiroth as fanart for myself (o hell I will) labeled "fanart"
I will draw a commission in a similar universe to Final Fantasy. labeled "inspired by"
I will draw a your character commissioned wearing similar armor to Sephiroth. labeled "inspired by"
One exception to this was my Star Trek ones, that was when Leonard Nimoy has passed.
I also do many referencing works to certain universes. Eg. my 'Rescue' YCH is heavily Skyrim themed - although it does not use a single element owned by Bethesda.
This includes projects such as Blindside (CC BY-NC-SA). On their project it's even clearly asked not to do commercial fan-works.
This is my personal choice to do.
I feel like this is the right way to do it.
And I do not judge those who do otherwise, it's grey area in law anyway, what counts as copyright infringement and what is derivative work.
Except if you mass merchandise. That's really not nice and clearly forbidden, both by law and morally. I will judge the hell out of you. (talking about protected content here)
For reference, all my works are CC BY-NC-ND (means you can share them with crediting back to me, but cannot modify them. only exception is commissioners, who may crop the works for their own use, make them black and white, and other minor edits that do not alter the actual artwork itself.)

Seeking Intuos M or equivalent tablet to buy

aesthetic errors don't matter, it just needs to work properly.
European please as I don't want to pay as much for shipping as the tablet itself

because im not a hypocrite.
if you ever used my character without my permission, i will call you a thief. (by that i don't mean gift-arts, but using my character in an NSFW YCH for example)
i wont use their things in my YCHs/commercial art either unless i get permission. (which is unlikely)
If I ever do such YCH that is a "fanart" to anything, it will be made sure to be -free-. it will be a FAN-art. not merchandise for something i do not hold rights over.
Therefore please stop asking me to put the Witcher armor on you, give you the Elucidator, or make you ride Toothless.
Unless that art was free and for FUN only, it's not gonna happen.
now i can link this to people who ask these from me next time.

Posted 10 years agocame up with the plan on binge-doing my commissions from the past in a different way, because this one after one doesn't work a lot (for some it looks like i abandoned their paintings, i did not)
in first round, all the sketches of all the commissions
(then all the flats, all the shades, etc etc)
This will hopefully keep everyone updated.
including trades and raffle prizes, that is nearly 70 images.
I will work on the sketch stage of each, and mass update it all (i wont upload them to FA, who wants their watch feed flooded by colorless lines...)
HOWEVER i still need to eat and live;
I'll sell off ONE speedpaint YCH per week, and work on it on Sundays.
so gonna post that today, YCH for next sunday
(no i wont have any day offs until i finish my queue. I REALLY hate myself already, and the depression from all this is ruining me a lot more than not having any rest for a few months. i cant sleep for months, i keep waking up from nightmares about people hating me and putting me on AB, getting headaches, i cant eat at all for a while now either from the stress)
i wish i could at least stream it, would be nice motivation!
also, does anyone have any tips for wrist-hurting? its started to inflate again and i don't wanna ruin it too much. dunno, some ointment or exercise that works...?
in first round, all the sketches of all the commissions
(then all the flats, all the shades, etc etc)
This will hopefully keep everyone updated.
including trades and raffle prizes, that is nearly 70 images.
I will work on the sketch stage of each, and mass update it all (i wont upload them to FA, who wants their watch feed flooded by colorless lines...)
HOWEVER i still need to eat and live;
I'll sell off ONE speedpaint YCH per week, and work on it on Sundays.
so gonna post that today, YCH for next sunday

and im indecisive.
but will go with one of these more generic themes, and next time bring the heavy stuff (maybe in a few days...? )

I will open them one after another, as I finish them.
Do as much as I can one one day
and then back to other commissions I already have.
Hope it won't feel to spam like, a submission in every hour or so (I will remove them as soon as taken though)
will do all kinds of themes I'm in mood for.
Suggestions are very much welcomed (I have some solid ideas, and will try to follow the results of yesterday's poll mostly too)
First one comes in about an hour or less
note:
I'm very sick, I'm dizzy and i couldn't eat for days properly (i have food, i just cant), I think I have a fever too (no meter so no idea) so if i randomly disappear for a few hours, I probably just collapsed or smth, sorry in advance!
I might also make mistakes as sending wrong notes or forgetting links as I did with 3 person in the last days. Also sorry! >.<
