General | Posted 8 years agoOn twitter i posted a "1 Fav = 1 Fact about my character" - here is the summary what i wrote in response :)
As the responses were tweets they are maximum 140 characters long - so no space for long explanations.
1) While having a powerful flame breath he is not using it in most cases as he is not completely fire-resistant himself. (+ prey turns dust)
2) Akus wingspan is more than twice his body length. If you exclude the tail the wings are more than 4 times the body.
3) Akus fire is based on 2 different chemicals propelled out of 2 glands in his snout. They meet&ignite half a meter in front of the snout.
4) The dragon does not have any magic abilities even though it helps people always think dragons do. :P
5) Aku strongly dislikes water in any form as lift off is harder - but being wet does not interfere with his ability to spit fire at all.
6) Aku was born and grew up in a volcanic area between Aden and Eritrea close to the Assab Volcanic Field but moved to Blyde River Canyon.
7) Aku is a hunter of open spaces and mainly attacks from the air. He does not even try to disguise himself.
8) His primary prey is gazelle and antelope. more rarely monkeys.
9) The dragon hatched from an 6kg egg which was roughly 45cm in height. It does not need to be put inside a volcano or something :P
10) Aku has limited ability to maintain body temperature. He is between ectotherm and endotherm. Still rather homeotherm than poikilotherm
11) keeping his body cool is harder. In flight the muscle generate a enormous heat. The membranes play a big roles in cooling in flight.
12) Only his underside is covered by scales. The rest of the body is thicker leathery hide.
13) (Artists usually hate the color of his wings as the mottled blend of red, blueish and purple tones is hard to get right) :P
14) The sails on his back are emotive. They can be controlled in segments - erect or put down flat to the body
15) His feet have 3 toes + 1 semi-thumb. The wings do have 4 digits + thumb. (the only detail without a "reason" - just nice to look at xD)
16) Akus basic design is unchanged since 2001 - that's 16 years. He grew feathers at some point and lost most of them again.
17) The digestive system needs to be lightweight and thus is very specialized. Aku can only digest meat.
18) Although there is a anthro version of Aku the true form is feral. They "coexist" - he can't change between them.
19) He breathes through the nostrils. His windpipe is not connected to the throat but ends in 2 holes left and right inside the snout. They are connected to the fire breathing glands.

General | Posted 10 years agoYeah, after storing the Convention Back into the Storage I am Back. Eurofurence is over.
I think it was the best Eurofurence yet. A lot of things ran more smoothly than last year and I even had time to actually see a few things. Concentrating on my Job as Programming Director instead of additonally doing the Fursuit Photoshoot really helped a lot.
I had nice talk to new and old friends.
Hanging around with my "group" was the perfect wrap around for the day - you guys rock!
Sadly none of my prints (2x Alu Dibond, 1x Canvas Print, 1x Acryl exposure, few Digital Prints ) I brought solt. But yeah, the Fandom don't like photos. At least I tried once.

Berlin
General | Posted 14 years agoOkay, I think now its sure, I´ll moving to Berlin in about 2 weeks. Its for a new Job.
If I had the choice i would stay in Hanover. I have my friends here.
But, Berlin isn´t that bad. I found a nice, modern flat directly on the water with only a few meters to my workplace. That is *very* abnormal in Berlin, normally you have to travel around 1 Hour to get wherever you wanted to travel. Berlin has 3.460.725 habitants.

Just restarting a small project and maybe someone has an Idea what to add, which features whould be good to have.. etc.
It is easy. The ArtTracker is a place where artists can show and update their lists of comissions, gifts, trades,collabs etc. Each comission can have its own page for collecting references, or any other information conecerning. It can be private or public. It simplifys the way keep track of your works, and you decide whether the public is allowed to see it.
You can easly create own pages to show your pricing, or what you do/dont draw. There is a internal messaging-system, too.
Everyone can make his own profile with informations, pictures, references concering his/her characters.
Designs are changeable via CSS so individual pages are no problem.
Please write me any ideas, or just comment what you think about it.

Just want to announce a little fun-project - the Furaffinity Data Tracker.
First: Open these Pages and go ahead reading the Journal.

The Page collects the Userdata of Public! Furaffinty Userpage-Values and show them as timed Graphs. Give the Site a moment to load because the images are created on-the-fly and it is alot of data (usally 200k-500k Values for each User)
As you can see it shows the absolut and relative growing of differnt Values and it is fun to see what happens when an artist is uploading new stuff.
Maybe it is useful for a few people out there.
Good example: You can easly see when she upload her last one xD
