But, like, not on FA. I'm still here! But in real life, I moved where I lived about 15 minutes from where I was. Old landlord wanted us out, and one of my roommates wanted to move out anyway, so hopefully it all works out. In all getting everything here took 3 days, because we only had a rental truck for the first part of Friday, and the rest we had to move with one small and one midsize vehicle.

So here I was all psyched up to write today and actually do something with my account. Cuz, you know, almost a year ago I promised updates to my superheroes and the world they are in, and yet nothing really came because I was working a new job and that job turned out to take a lot more from me than I thought. Not "I need to quit" levels exhausting, at least not all the time, but it's full time work and keeps me busy and tired.

So I'm all ready to go, took a shower when I got home, feeling clean and ready.

Mom called.

My dad's younger brother was found dead this morning.

I just... did not expect that. I mean, you can never expect those kinds of calls, but... Damn. Sidelined me.

Not really sure what I'm going to do with my day. Just... process this I guess? I mean I haven't spoken to my uncle in years, but I still cared for him. He's my family, and he never wronged me, so I cared about him. I want to try and still make something happen today. I've been lazing about on my days off and I still have that creative itch, but...

Damn. Just damn. Was not ready.

Sorry it's been so long, for those who care about my superhero-based universe! I've been working a lot lately, and much of my creative ability has been drained finding new ways to cope at work. However, that doesn't mean I haven't been thinking about my peeps, and have even been working on drawing some of them.

I'm almost done with a pin-up of James, and plan on doing a few others as well as a revamp of Alan's image as my sona, not so much as he is in my story.

One major update coming is another rework to Lurianna, aka Siren/Selkie. As a character she's undergone tons of changes over the last decade, from a bouncy airhead to more of a "big sister" or "middle sibling" type, and also lots of changes to her powers. Some major points of her upcoming changes will be removing her healing powers as well as a focus on sonic/sound based abilities.

As the main female member of my original team of 5, her role was a bit hard to pin down. We didn't need sassy seductress, as James had that role. Lead and muscle were also taken, and Baxter has the corner on snark. Innocence and purity seemed to be big parts of her role as she developed, but also dealing with a loss of innocence, coming into one's own strength, and the duality of relying on friends while remaining independent, the last one shared with the leader, Alan. The removal of her healing powers also comes from the idea that death is a very real part of their world. With the events of the main story being brought on by the death of one of the world's most well known heroes, and many "villains" just being the victims of a deeper evil present in the world, magical healing powers tends to undo a lot of the consequences of character's actions. It's easy to rush headlong to your death if you know someone can bring you back from the brink of death. I was taught this from Boku no Hero Academia, or My Hero Academia, a story I hope to live up to in greatness some day. Still, focusing on her own "power of the voice", from a character who often has a hard time finding the strength to speak up, is a better fit for her as a character, in my opinion.

I do plan on writing up the later additions to the team in short order, as well, so get hyped for the arrival of Navixus, Shade, Roulette, and Emerald, as well as a tertiary cast list.

So a bunch of people favorited the story I wrote a few days ago, and even were kind enough to go through my gallery a bit.

Just wanted to say thanks. It really means a lot to me.

So a year ago I moved into an apartment with a friend of mine, with his girlfriend moving in a few months later. Then another friend of mine who is very dear to me needed a place to go, so I shared my room with him. Sadly, the 4 of us in a 2 bedroom flat is just not enough space, but this is why I love these guys; we're all moving to a new place together!

We get our keys tomorrow and have until the end of the month to get everything there. I'm beyond excited. I get my own room again, and on top of that just a lot more space for things in general.

I want to draw and write and stuff real badly but things like planning the move and getting a new job have been taking precedence.

If I wanted to open commissions, would anyone even be interested? I'll try and get back into the swing of things, as I lost all of my SAI brushes trying to fix my computer, then give people some art!

Just... lots of things at once! YAY!

I really hate when you get really emotionally involved in something that you didn't want to, then it's just... not done. I got hooked on a comic when I was looking around for porn, and the damn thing isn't done, and I was looking for porn to relax and now I'm anything but.

I've been really inspired to write today, but I can't get anything done even with my meds in me because I'm so fucking freaked out and I hate this stupid shit.

#1. Alan has gone through some of the most power revisions of any character I currently have, as I want him to have powers that are awe inspiring, but not so powerful as to give the feeling that there is no danger in what he does.

#2. Until two months ago, Alan was also my fursona.

#3. Alan is moody and has a tendency to be bossy, though he doesn't like the responsibility of giving orders

#4. It's been difficult to make him a believable character and like myself at the same time.

#5. He ends up being the leader of the Renegades not by choice, but because everyone respects him enough to follow his decisions.

#6. Alan is an anthro cheetah

#7. I thought of one! With his new/old powers, Alan's hands are very sensitive, which is why he wears gloves.

#8. Alan is probably going to get his portaling powers back rather than his light beam powers.

#1. Masamune is not his real name, but he thought it sounded cooler, so he goes by that instead.

#2. His near-invulnerability comes at the cost of his ability to sense touch.

#3. He drinks alcohol and takes drugs like ecstasy regularly because he feels like it's the only way to feel things.

#4. Masa was my first fursona, and was what I always hoped I would end up like.

#5. His sexual addiction is also linked to his difficulty with feeling touch sensations.

#6. Masa has hurt someone in the past on accident, and doesn't do anything at his full potential anymore because of his guilt about it.

#7. He is pansexual and has no particular preferences in either gender.

#8. As much as he loves himself, Masamune wishes deep down that he wasn't as powerful as he was, so that he could live a normal life.

I decided something while at work today.

I think I was trying to put too much together at once. I had so many characters in one universe, it was getting harder and harder to tell each of their stories.

So now I'm splitting them up. Certain characters are staying together in groups, but otherwise the Renegades will be apart until I feel like doing some kind of crazy Avengers-like crossover.

As of my flowchart from earlier, the divisions are as follows:

Alan, Masa, James, Lurianna, and Baxter - Now known at the Detroit League
Shane, Navixus, Myst, and Stella - They are now based in Japan, and are more based on the mythology from that region
Eric and Alejandro - Based in the world's version of Ghana and California, their adventures will take place mostly in a virtual setting
Seamus - Solo detective adventures
Emerald, Rufus et. al - Major retcons for her and her crew, still based in American military
Roulette, Rex, Ricky, and a few others - Now based in a cyberpunk club focused style.

Most of the nemesis will stay the same, but the logistics of my characters, as well as the relationship between a lot of them, have changed or are gone all together. I'll be updating my character sheet over the next week or two, so look out for that!

I found out birds don't have penises

so you know what? Fuck conventional-ism. Is my bird gonna have a dick and balls or a cloaca? Whichever the fuck I feel like, because I can do that shit. It also is convenient if I want to get a commission and someone isn't comfortable drawing c-boy birds. Or if I just want another hole to put something into.

IN ANY CASE

I'm working on drawing me now that the fucking power is back on (it was out for almost 2 whole days) and I just wanted to give a sort of final say as to where my character's bits lie now that I'm a bird and not a cat.

Alan the Cheetah is still around, just as an OC. I almost wanna give my new sona a new name, but I've already pre-registered for cons as Alan Wolfsheim, so I'll just go ahead and keep that. Might end up changing the cheetah's name just to make him a little different from me, now that he's not me.

This wasn't really my intention, but well...

I was trying to log into my old Twitter, but none of my usual passwords were working, which means I must have put in a weird password. As I hadn't logged in on my computer in many months, and the phone I'd made the Twitter on was no longer viable, I figured I reset my password. I can't. It's kinda aware that I made an account, but when recovering my password it says I don't have one.

Oh well. I'm still working on the new me. Hopefully I'll be able to draw some sort of clean reference for myself soon.

I mentioned this last year, almost a whole year ago. I haven't made journals in a long time on here, mostly because I haven't had anything to talk about until recently. A few things to catch people up on:

I still live with a friend and my mate
I have a new job as a bank teller
I've been thinking about changes to my fursona this whole time

I've narrowed down what I want, though. As much as I love cats, cheetahs even more so, I always try to keep my fursona a representation of my self. That being said, Alan has developed beyond what he originally was. Now the hero leader of a team of super furry freaks, and me having gone through a lot of change in the last few years of my life, I feel like an update is in order. Alan isn't going away, but like Masamune before him, he's being retired as a regular character in my stories, to do with as I please.

With that in mind, I will be working out the details of my new fursona soon. Though, I guess I should say "birbsona" as I've already chosen my species: the North American Goldfinch. I've always thought they were beautiful birds, and their tiny cuteness suits me better than the speed of a large cat.

Been thinking for a while that I might change my fursona again.

It's been a good seven years since I became a cheetah, and while I still love them to pieces, I always strive to have my fursona be me. I love cheetahs, I really do, but I'm having a hard time feeling like they're really what I'm all about.

I'm considering either a squirrel or a type of bird. I love cats and out of the three fursonas I've had in the 13 years I've been a furry, two have been cats, but I think, if I'm going to really represent myself in the fandom, I don't want to just pick what I like and what is easy. I want me to be me, nothing more and nothing less.

That said, I wouldn't mind hearing what my friends think of this.

Ideas under consideration are:
1. Alan keeps the name, but updates to everything else from the ground up.
2. Cheetah-Alan sticks around in my stories, as he's already built himself up in that universe, but non-universe related furry business becomes my new fursona
3. Canon life change for Alan occurs at some point in my storyline, and 2 leads into 1 sort of thing.
