My spirit animal is actually
Posted 10 years agoNSFW Journal time
Posted 10 years agobecause it's been over a month since I last made a journal, I wanted to share something I found on the internet.
Turns out there's a human guy with two dicks, and they work.
http://www.iflscience.com/plants-an.....tioning-pnises
I'm honestly surprised, though not surprised by his claims of having sex with over 1000 people, as I've noticed people with genital conditions tend to say things like that whether or not it's true.
I followed the links and saw the pics. It's real, and I certainly find it interesting. Science is a magical thing.

Mary Sues: Why I'm Not Afraid of Them
Posted 11 years agoSo sorry to sick another really long post on you all, but I got inspired to write this, so read at your own risk.
An artist I watch on a website (being discreet because it's not important) recently said he was removing himself from his character, as he was finding it was making the character too much of a "Mary Sue." Now, I thought I had an idea of what it meant, but after looking it up on Wikipedia (seriously great place, guys, don't bash it) I'm finding my views on it changing.
The stereotypical "Mary Sue" character, according to the character, fulfills two things. The character is an insert of the author, either directly or indirectly, into an already established world. Second, the character is unrealistically superior: faster, stronger, better than everyone and everything, and all the characters around them.
I understand the negative connotations of such a character. The young fighter pilot loved by his or her superiors, even romantically so, who always saves the day until they die in a dramatic and heroic fashion. This would naturally make for an uninteresting character, too perfect to relate to on any level.
However, I have to agree with what some of the critics of the "Mary Sue" have to say. To use the same quote as the article, from author Ann C. Crispin, "The term 'Mary Sue' constitutes a put-down, implying that the character so summarily dismissed is not a true character, no matter how well drawn, what sex, species, or degree of individuality."
I was thinking about what the aforementioned artist said, about wanting to disconnect from his character to avoid being a "Mary Sue" or "Marty Stu", and I thought about my own universe, one that is primarily only in my head as I work daily to write it into being, and about one of the characters. Particularly, Alan Wolfsheim, the character that I made to be like me in most regards. I began to wonder, is he really a "Marty Stu?" Is he an unrealistic insertion of myself into my own story, to be the dramatic hero that everyone mourns when he sacrifices himself to save his loved ones?
My answer was: yes and no. The world that my characters exist in is a harsh, violent universe, where my heroes are not seen as heroes by most of the world, no matter what good they do. They are hunted even as they attempt to stop the people who turned them into the living weapons they are from causing more harm to others, hence the name I chose for their team: The Renegades. But if I choose to make Alan fairly strong, and their leader as well, he falls right into Marty Stu territory, doesn't he?
In that regards, yes. I'm not ashamed to admit that I favor the character that represents me the most a little more than the others. He's strong, and the leader of the Renegades. There is, however, another aspect in which he fails, at least in my opinion, to be a Marty Stu.
The other fault and danger of Marty Stus/Mary Sues, is that they are uninteresting, generally because their lives are too perfect. That's where I feel Alan and Marty Stu part ways.
I worked very hard on my initial roster of heroes, keeping them to a select 7, each with their own lives, stories, and powers. Even as I added more characters of all types, from neutral victims of the powers that be to downright mega villains, I kept working on the first seven, always aiming to improve them, but not in the way you might think.
Alan is a representation of me, sure, but he's far from perfect. Teammates get injured or kidnapped due to decisions he makes, and that adds to tensions between him and the other leadership-potential teammate, Shane. He hides things from his team, thinking it's for their own protection, only to find that he did more harm than good, and has to work hard each and every day of his written life to maintain his friendships. In the end, it's their trust for him that keeps him in the leadership position, not because I'm stroking my own ego thinking I'm some incredible leader at heart.
Eventually, Alan goes through a process of rebirth, literally dying to try and find out the meaning of his existence, and honestly why the people around him even care. He sacrifices himself to defeat their enemy, like a typical Marty Stu, but it doesn't work. He fails. I think that's why I've been so interested in building my world lately rather than writing fanfiction or anything in someone else's world: my characters are human.
And for those of you wondering, yes, the majority of my main cast are anthropomorphic animal-people. It's what I like to write, and is a core aspect of the characters lives and identities, as well as a centerpiece to the universe itself.
In the end, I thought all these things, and wondered if I should do the same. Should I disconnect myself from Alan, making him less like me and more of a "balanced" character?
My answer: No.
Yes, my character is a focal point of my stories and the leader. However, he's hardly perfect, and none of my other characters are any better. If I found out one of them had an advantage, I changed it or made a villain that could stop them, i.e. I had a character that could copy other characters powers, but found it was too easy for him to become to powerful at the drop of a hat, no matter what restrictions I placed on his powers and their use. Eventually, I scrapped that character's powers all together, making him more like Black Widow or Hawkeye than Mimic (Marvel characters, for those who lack the knowledge).
The other reason my answer is no is because, frankly, I don't give a damn. So what if my character represents me in a story? It's my story, not yours, I'll write it how I want. I've done what I can to avoid him being a Marty Stu, and that's as far as I'm going to go. If someone still thinks he is, that's their opinion, but I don't have to acknowledge it or even change anything about my world or characters to avoid it.
Hence the title of this long, absurd little article. I'm not afraid if my characters come across as a little Mary Sue/Marty Stu, because in all honestly each and every one of my characters has a little bit of me in them, good and bad alike. I could never take myself out of my characters entirely, because most of them were born from a place deep inside myself, shaped and molded by time and my own desires, and ending up where they are now in my head. They are my children, and like children they bear a piece of me, whether they like it or not.
That's my opinion on the matter. This came out much longer than I had thought it would, but so it goes.
Tl:Dr; My characters are a little Mary Sue/Marty Stu-ish, and that's okay.

OC Meme: I got tagged!
Posted 11 years agoMy friend tagged me in this, so I'll do one for Alan. Considering doing one for all of them, though, as it does help round out characters.
1. What is your name?
Alan Nicolas Wolfsheim
2. Do you know why you were named that?
It is a name I made for myself, after a lot of thought and meditation.
3. Single or taken?
It's really complicated. As in sometimes we're happily together, others he's trying to kill me. Love the guy though.
4. Have any abilities or powers?
I can emit concussive blasts of light from my hands, eyes, and mouth.
5. Stop being a Mary Sue!
Haha, very funny. I have that power and that power only, believe me, our creator works hard to make sure there are no Mary Sues; they're too dangerous. (For those who don't know, a Mary Sue is a character that can do anything, or has far too many powers to be a balanced character and is just ambiguously good, i.e. Superman)
6. What's your eye color?
My eyes are green, but tend to glow orange when I'm actively using my powers.
7. How about hair color?
Brown.
8. Have you any family members?
After losing my real family a long time ago, I consider my teammates to be my family.
9. Oh? How about pets?
Only if you consider the times I have to lock my boyfriend in a room...
10. That's cool, I guess. Now tell me something you don't like.
The people that gave me and my teammates our powers. They took so much from us; I can never forgive them.
11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
I like to learn different languages. Yes, that's a hobby, shut up.
12. Have you ever hurt anyone in any way before?
Miranda, for starters. Then there's all the army personnel I've physically injured, the pedestrians caught up in crossfire with super-villains, and the bastards that made us what we are, when I can find out where they are.
13. Ever… killed anyone before?
Define killed...
14. What kind of animal are you?
Cheetah, though if we've been talking this long I'm surprised you haven't figured that out yet.
15. Name your worst habits.
It's hard for me to trust people, and I tend to keep secrets when I really should open my mouth more.
16. Do you look up to anyone at all?
My teammates, for one. They're all so unique, and despite all that's happened to us they all have their own reasons for living. Our new friends over in Zephyr as well. Jimmy's a real stand up guy, I wouldn't mind it if I was more like him.
17. Are you gay, straight, or bisexual?
Again, complicated. I've dated and loved women, but I identify as gay because I'm just not interested in women anymore.
18. Do you go to school?
Some online courses. It's my hobby, shut up.
19. Ever want to marry and have kids one day?
I... no.
20. Do you have fangirls/fanboys?
Considering I'm seen as a monster by some and a nuisance by most others, I doubt it.
21. What are you most afraid of?
Failing those closest to me again.
22. What do you usually wear?
My uniform is always under my civilian clothes, which means long sleeves, hoodies, or jeans almost constantly. Rarely do I go out in the summer without my uniform at least on my person.
23. What's one food that tempts you?
If it's made of chocolate, it's mine.
24. Am I annoying you?
Quite.
25. Well, it's still not over!
Wonderful.
26. What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)?
I live with my upper-class friend, Lurianna, but I have no job and have no money, so I'm the lowest class their is.
27. How many friends do you have?
I'd say a good two dozen good friends.
28. What are your thoughts on pie?
Dutch Apple.
30. Favorite drink?
Dr. Pepper for day-to-day, Vodka when I'm in the mood.
31. What's your favorite place?
I've always wanted to travel to Japan and Ireland. Those islands are gorgeous.
32. Are you interested in anyone?
Yes, but he has this tendency to turn into a murderous sociopath in his sleep. I'm not joking.
33. That was a stupid question.
Extremely.
34. Would you rather swim in a lake or the ocean?
Lake, oceans are amazing but terrifying.
35. What's your type?
None of your damn business.
36. Any fetishes?
Bondage. You asked.
37. Seme or uke?
Again, none of your goddamn business.
38. Camping or indoors?
Fuck camping.
39. Tag People!
I can't tag
so I'll just tag
and be done with it.

Questions about my stories
Posted 11 years agoI was wondering a few things from the people that actually go through the trouble to read them (and this journal, of course).
What format do you prefer? Word lets me spell check with ease, but txt lets me post straight to the site without someone having to download the file to read, which can be problematic as the downloads tend to screw with the formatting.
Music is a big source of inspiration for me, each song telling a new story and so forth. Would you be interested in links to the songs that inspire the stories?
Is there anything you'd like to see me write about? Maybe it'll get me to do something other than work and school.
Please answer in the comments, cuz I'm very curious.

Bah
Posted 12 years agoI feel like junk today. I'm bored, I hate my job, and other stuff. GUH.
Just felt like sharing, mostly because I've had therapists tell me that I should write my feelings down when I'm being all mopey and shit.
I also wanted to apologize to ZephyrHero, because I totally want to return the RP note, I just keep getting distracted and I feel like a jerk. I'll try to remember to send something before bed.

Character List - Updates!
Posted 12 years agoUpdated the list of characters from my previous journal. More detailed explanations of The Renegades and other in their universe. Here goes nothing!
"First off, the superhero universe of The Renegades
Alan Nicolas Wolfsheim - Cheetah, leader of The Renegades, codename Gatecrasher, can emit blasts of light from his body, mostly from his hands, mouth, and eyes. The light creates a concussive force and is generally non-lethal. He also has two tools he uses to enhance his powers in close range combat, one is a small handle-shaped device he uses with his left hand and a circular device strapped to his right wrist. The handle is a focus for his light energy, allowing him to create a constant beam of light but restricting his use of his powers while active. The circle on his right wrist is similar in function, but shapes the light into a solid, durable surface. In essence, they are a sword and shield for Alan, but using both means his powers are "occupied" and he cannot fire his energy. Alan is my fursona and represents me in the furry community. If I would or would not do something, so would he.
Masamune Kuronai - White tiger, member of The Renegades, codename Tank, has incredible strength and nearly invulnerable. Masamune's skin is nearly impregnable, but he does have soft spots, as anywhere not covered with skin and muscle is much less durable (eyes, ears, mouth, etc.). He also is strong enough to throw cars (roughly .5-1 tons) and break walls, but can be overpowered by some super powered villains. Sexaholic, alcoholic, frat boy, playboy, wrestler, and many other things, Masa tends to be loud first and think second. Actually a sweet guy, his caring nature gets outplayed by his bravado, and also by his general desire to have sex with nearly anything that walks.
James McAllister - Brown rabbit, member of The Renegades, codename Twister. James has no true super powers, but has been trained exceptionally well in combat and espionage, son of a Secret Service agent and trained in the American Military. While he classifies as only a basic Mod, not a power Mod, he is still a valued member of the Renegades as his knowledge of tactics and weaponry, as well as his skill with both, are invaluable. Cute, sweet, flirtatious, but always kind, James is level headed and cheerful even in dreary times. Always optimistic, his endless cheer can sometimes get on people's nerves. While fond of intercourse, he is not as sex crazed as Masamune, though the two of them become intimate on and off quite often.
Lurianna Gilgaia - White house cat, member of The Renegades, codename Siren, creates illusions by singing. Lurianna has a difficult time controlling her powers, as they are activated by the mere sound of her voice, so she is soft spoken if she speaks at all. Lurianna is sweet but terribly ditsy and gullible. She always tries to help others, even when she has no idea what she's doing, which will quite often lead to her making things worse, though they always manage to work back out again. Outside of being a superhero, Luri has taken to being a small time pop-star, somehow managing to throw of any attempts of connecting the pop-star with her super powered maiden alter ego.
Baxter "Titmouse" - Dwarf albino mouse, member of The Renegades, codename Schism, can turn his body into electricity and travel through wiring and conductive materials. While it is difficult for his body to sustain damage while pure energy, he has no ways of defending himself against attacks, and can only shock another person through direct combat by generating low current electricity inside his body and sending it through his skin. One of his signature moves is called "The Shocker" which has both to do with his electric powers and the sexual hand position. An older man, Baxter enjoys beautiful women, and enjoys tricking Lurianna and getting her into compromising situations. He has convinced her that he needs to spend time touching her breasts or else he will die, as he is a "titmouse" and she doesn't understand what that really means. Since he has never done anything to harm her, and if anything seems more protective of Lurianna as a result of his odd relationship, the Renegades have yet to break the farce.
Shane - Raccoon, member of The Renegades and of Stargaze, codename Shade, becomes invisible by altering the reflectiveness of himself and wears special clothes that become see through with him. His powers work by altering how light hits him, allowing it to simply pass through instead of reflecting as light normally would. He has also been trained as an assassin, using a short sword because the weapon makes no sound if he is invisible. Moody and dark, Shane is aloof and grim, always cynical and blunt. He has a soft spot for Navixus, and was a member of the Stargaze team of supers, which included Stella and Giselle. After the team's betrayal, where Giselle turned on her teammates and attacked, killing Stella in front of Shane, the raccoon ran, afraid for his life and feeling tremendous guilt over not being able to protect his teammate. He takes that guilt out on himself and works himself ragged protecting his new home with The Renegades, and still holds out hope that Stella is alive.
Navixus - Mouse whose skin is purple, fur is light orange, and eyes and hair are green, member of The Renegades, and codename Pyroclasm. He can generate fire at will, though he has issues controlling the flames once generated. He has deeply implanted brainwashing buried by code in his mind that when activated takes away his willpower and turns him into a living weapon under the control of the person who activates the brainwashing. Tortured by the experiments that gave him his powers, Navi is jumpy and timid, but tries hard to escape his past and become stronger, if only to impress Shane. He secretly loves the raccoon, wanting desperately to make him proud and hoping that Shane will some day return a little of his feelings.
Stella Sinclair - Panda, member of Stargaze, codename Obsidian, generates mirror images of herself that can look and feel real, but fade after a short time. Using her illusive powers she evaded death when Stargaze was betrayed by one of their own, Giselle, faking her death both to save herself and to get Shane to leave and save himself. Her dying illusion was found by Shane, who believes her dead. She is afraid of revealing herself to him after seeing the pain her supposed death caused him, though she does not know that Giselle still pursues him with the intent to kill him. Stella acts like a big sister, very kind and loving even when she plays roughly.
Giselle Verain - Pink house cat, former member of Stargaze, only her codename is known to the Renegades, to which she is known as Myst. Her fur releases small crystals that absorb light around them, creating a fog-like effect that can blanket a large area. A strong enough wind would make maintaining the cloud difficult, and a stronger wind would make it nearly impossible for her. A trained assassin, she betrayed the other members of Stargaze, Shane and Stella, out of greed and jealousy. Her jealous rage over the close friendship her teammates made her more receptive to offers to betray them, and she lashed out in a murderous rage. Continues to work for whoever pays her the most, which tends to be the enemies of The Renegades.
Ricky Tormaline - Meerkat, independant, he has the power to draw out people's wills by touching exposed flesh; the more intimate the touch, the stronger the effect. Ricky works for himself and only himself, though occasionally finds it in his interest to side with The Renegades and help the greater good. He has an entourage that serves him, their wills almost completely drained by his power, leaving them in a hypnotized-like servant state. Among them are a bull, a horse, two wolves, and a large black panther, all male. While all are athletic and trained to defend themselves, Ricky would never risk their lives in open combat, preferring to operate behind the scenes where the generally moral Renegades wont interfere and he wont draw the attention of more vile entities.
Seamus Caedren - Red husky, detective and internal affairs representative for The Renegades. Seamus has the power to mentally rewind the space or subjects his eyes see, allowing him to have knowledge of events that occurred regarding an area or a person. An old friend of Masamune, the two have similar personalities, but Seamus is a more reserved, sweet talking Irishman who enjoys using his silver tongue to get his way rather then flashy displays of grandiose might. Handles communication with the government for The Renegades, informing local law enforcement when and when not to interfere, and aiding them by getting political forces off their backs. Works as a police officer when he's not being pulled one way or another by the government or the Renegades.
Sharktooth - Shark, general rowdy troublemaker and hired muscle. He is able to launch large projectiles from his body in the shape of razor sharp shark teeth. These projectiles are some of the only things that can cut through Masamune, though it takes a few hits in the same spot. Cuts made by the projectiles tend not to heal well, and the teeth are serrated so as to cause more damage if they are pulled back out in the event they get caught in something. Sharktooth was involuntarily made into a power Mod, a death row criminal already, he was kidnapped and experimented on after the initial pool of volunteering subjects dried up. This has made him bitter and resentful to anyone who is still a normal human, and he wants to punish the people that twisted him by killing them, but invariably ends up working for them as his attacks on normals are stopped by the Renegades.
Diana Quill - Large female Naga, villain name Kadru. She has the ability to read surface thoughts and predict people's actions based on their thoughts. She can also use the senses of anyone she "piggybacks," though it is in a weaker sense when she is fighting, as she usually only has the time to see where someone is aiming and react accordingly. Diana also has the ability to fire blasts of energy from her mouth, much in the same way that Alan can. They are roughly equal strength to Alan's as well, and when both beams collide they reflect each other with dangerous side effects. Diana is cruel, using her mind reading abilities to cause chaos by dismantling people's lives and protecting herself using her more offensive abilities. She is also obsessed with wealth and jewels, and has a hoard that she moves regularly to keep it safe. Her strength and dexterity are above average because of her snake-like attributes. She thrives off of this chaos, satisfying something deep inside herself that only she understands. She is a rival of Lurianna, her jealousy over the cat's success and persistent luck in the world of normal people making her loathe the female hero, and she actively works to tear the cat down.
Jessica Ravelle - Female red panda Mod, member of the Renegades, codename Roulette. Her codename does not derive from any ability to manipulate "luck" or any force of chance, instead it refers to her ability to digitally construct a variety of weapons and use them effectively when combined with both implanted subconscious knowledge and mental control of the things she creates. She was also born with incredible regenerative abilities, able to quickly heal anything short of loss of a limb. Roulette is surprisingly gentle, despite her vicious capabilities in combat, to the point of near pacifism. Despite her incredible combat abilities, she rarely travels from the Renegade's command center due to unwillingness to fight or cause harm. She prefers to stay at the home base, controlling the communicators Renegades use while in combat and making sure that if anyone needs help the others know about it. Her combat weapon of choice, when she is forced to fight, is a chain scythe.
Rex Ravelle - Male red panda Mod, brother of Jessica/Roulette, no group affiliation or code name. As Roulette's twin, he has the same regenerative abilities as she does, and was part of the same Mod program that gave her the ability to digitally construct weaponry and have limited mental control over their creations. Rex is violent beyond measure, taking to his combat training like a fish to water. He enjoys nothing more then causing pain, a pleasure he easily took out on his sister when they were growing up. A sociopath, Rex and Sharktooth have much in common in their love of violence and pain, and he often gets Sharktooth involved in murderous schemes, if only to give the Renegades something to fight while he attacks his sister. Unfortunately, Rex is not as smart as his sister, and acts without thinking, a reckless abandon that foils him more then he would like to admit. He also prefers a chain scythe as his instrument of pain.
Amy Raul Day - Female quetzal mod, member of the Renegades, codename Emerald. Amy can fly, has mid-level super strength, and can generate emerald with a thought, able to create nearly anything from the precious stone, thought she can only create it a short distance from her body, but can grow existing emerald at a distance. A second generation Mod, Amy had originally been recruited from the United States military, a young recruit who had no idea of what life in the military was like and no combat experience. She was recruited under the guise that the experiments would give her an edge, with full knowledge she would get supernatural powers. Being naive as she was, she agreed, and was transformed into Emerald, a fighter for freedom and justice. As her military career bloomed, she was ordered to perform more and more heartless tasks, slowly eroding away her faith in the program and her loyalty to her superiors. The day came where she was ordered to wipe out a civilian city under the guise of it harboring terrorists, and she gave in to her doubts, having to fight her former teammates for her freedom after her defection. Luckily, the people that she saved had been saved before by others like her, and told her where to find and how to contact the Renegades. She now fights for the Renegades, believing she now serves the true greater good. Intense and emotional, she is also incredibly loyal to her friends and will defend anyone she feels is being done an injustice.
Eric LaGrey - Male squirrel monkey mod, member of the Renegades, codename Gamut. Eric's powers allow him to extend his limbs, his body a stretchy, rubbery consistency when he wants it to be. He is also supernaturally strong, but no where near the capacity of Masamune or Amy, only enough to throw his body limbs around while stretching. Eric was a civilian before he became a Mod, coming a more uncommon type of monkey-human mix, but following his heart as he did so. What he didn't expect was his eventual kidnapping, as receiving a mod had alerted the team of scientists performing his modifications that he contained the genetic marker that most readily allowed for supernatural genetic augmentations. When he finally escaped his captors, he was already changed, a Power Mod for the rest of his life. Learning to control his powers was something he did quickly, as he was persued relentlessly until he found and joined The Renegades. A kind, sweet guy, he doesn't like hurting anyone if he can help it, and has a thing for shy people, whether male or female.
Adam Brill - Male antelope mod, independent, codename Dreamer. Adam is little different from any other animal mod, aside from the slight boost to his athletic abilities being part antelope. Adam is, however, a first generation Power Mod, and has a unique power that only activates while he's asleep. As a result he is always tired, since his body is not at rest while he sleeps. Adam's powers put him in a manic state while he sleeps, his body acting on some strange instinct while his unconscious mind dreams. While this power is active he is strong beyond comparison, able to jump buildings or tear them down with ease. Even though his conscious mind rests, Adam remembers what his unconscious body does, often leading to a horrific nightmare of memories upon waking. He is finding a measure of control over his powers through his dreams, but that is causing him to lose sight of what reality really is. A gentle man at heart, he is tortured by the things his manic side does, distancing himself from others to protect them from himself while he is not in control.
Alejandro Casamayor - Male white moth mod, member of the renegades, codename Dust. Child of an immigrant Mexican family, Alejandro got his education in the United States. Thanks to changes in American health care, he was given a chance to get mods to cure a genetic disease that would have taken away his eyesight. His new eyes were part human, part moth, and part bio-mechanical. The parts that gave him power mod status were the latter, and were not part of the modifications he chose for himself. As a result of his eye and body mods, Al can fly, with a lighter and frailer body to match, and has extra levels of perception. His brain was also modified with bio-mechanical parts, allowing him to unconsciously make rapid and accurate assessments of the levels of power and abilities held by other mods. Al was a sweet kid, and is still young compared to most of the Renegades. He joined them after being pursued by a shady organization that sought to use his analytic powers to their advantage, and the Renegades rescued him from an attempt on his life. He uses his powers now to help the Renegades get more accurate information on the foes they face, helping his new friends the only way he can.
Outside of this group, there's only a few more!
Terrakaris - Dragon, earth elemental and near god. Has power over the earth and all things that grow from it. Can shape-shift into a smaller form that looks like a 7 foot tall green lizard with horns, and loses his wings when he does so, though they appear as a tattoo on his back. Kind of heart, he protects those that travel through his woods but becomes outraged when his forest is disrespected or harmed. Has a breath attack, but what the green flames scour and burn soon bursts forth with plant life.
Sammy - Panda, Stella's son from her alternate universe where she owns a strip club. He is a sweet little boy, only 6, and is as innocent as can be. Thoughtful, he sometimes says profound things without realizing the true impact of his words.
David - Ferret, from my story series "Find Your Way to Me." Slim and shy, David is a high school bookworm that works out his brain more then his body. Falls hard for his crush, the wolf Zack, he semi-stalks the wolf, but tries not to be creepy with it, only taking pictures of Zack's best moments. Has 6 abusive older brothers that David's parents are powerless to stop.
Zack - Wolf, same age as David, football star from the same story series. After having his girlfriend cheat on him with his best friend, Zack has to get tutoring to help his failing grades or be kicked off the football team. David, normally a victim of Zack's bullying, becomes his tutor, and after finding one of David's pictures of him, finds he has feelings for the ferret. Hates David's older brothers because of what they do to him."
And there you have it. Why do I always do these around 4am? Dunno. Anyway, goodnight all!

Sometimes the ADD gets me
Posted 12 years agoand I lose things, like I found out I managed to do this morning. I'm posting a journal about it because I like to spread my shame like a retarded kid smearing his poop on the bathroom walls. And yes I just used that analogy. Sue me.
I somehow, in the hustle and bustle of switching the dresser from my old room into the one I now share with my mate, I managed to misplace his high school diploma. Not just any version of it, though, the original. Sure, he can get a copy, but God knows how long that could take. I remember seeing it, realizing what it was, then setting it down in the pile of important documents and things we were keeping from the old dresser. And that's it. That's all I can remember. I even took my meds today and I can't for the life of me remember where it is. I'm trying not to be mad at myself, but this kind of shit keeps happening and I'm so damn tired of it. I hope the attempts we made last night at getting our sleeping schedules turned around so we actually get up in the morning instead of go to sleep works, because I want to take my meds in the morning so this shit happens less.
I just needed to rant about that, sorry.
I've joined a Sunday Evening RP, we're playing Changeling and it's awesome. I'm playing outside my usual character box as a wicked seducer who really is just using people to get back at his Fae captors, and considering how emotional most of my characters get and how "for the right!" they tend to be, this guy is cruel and manipulative, so it should be interesting. I also made an NPC (we already have 2 dozen or so, and the DM gave us players free reign to make more) and to be honest I do like him more, as he is an opossum mechanic, which is just adorable. I kinda want to draw him, so if you see me suddenly posting art instead of stories, that's why.
And if you made it this far, congrats! You win my honest gratitude for reading my crappy ranty journals. I'm going to go do house chores and try to figure out what I want to eat.

Housesitting
Posted 12 years agoSo I have little access to FA because I'm taking care of a family friend's house and pets, with only Brent's laptop to use between the both of us. If I miss some art or submission from now until I get home next week, I apologize, then again, if you really wanted me to see it you can always link it to me in a note or email it to me or something.
just thought you guys should know. Woo.
just thought you guys should know. Woo.
How does this I don't even
Posted 12 years agoSo within the last few weeks I've actually been communicating with artists here on FA that I've been watching for a while, and not just on comments and things. Like they send me personal messages and we go back and forth for a little while. And what's more is that they seem to actually not find my appreciation for their characters to be too much. What's even more is that I asked to go a gift story for an artist, and not only did she give me the okay, but she gave me personal information about the characters I wanted to write about, most of it without me even asking, and this is information that she doesn't share publicly.
I can't even begin to express my feelings of gratitude and how honored I feel that she trusts me with something like that. I'm writing the story, though I am writing this journal at the moment, and I'm so excited to finish it. It will be very, very mature, so I can understand some that wont want to see it, but I just had to say something. This is just so amazing.

Random Ranty Journaly Thingy
Posted 12 years agoSo I'm going to post some of my FB statuses here because I want to pose the same questions to you.
Ranty status 1 of 2 today.
So, here I am, trying to take responsibility and get things done while my parents are out of the house. I took my medication that I finally got yesterday, and so I'm focused and able to do things that I want to. Brent and I notice, while getting our clean clothes, that some hankies need to be ironed. I make sure I know where to put the stuff on the ironing board, and even get asked to do some pillowcases while I'm at it, which I don't mind. Brent goes outside to mow the front lawn. Then this happens;
I plug in the iron, start working on the first hanky, when suddenly the light above me, which needs to be on for the plug I'm using to be active, goes out, and at the same time, the lawnmower turns off. At first I think it's coincidence, but when the mower doesn't turn back on, I check the fuse box out of frustrated curiosity. SURE ENOUGH, the plug at the front of the house next to our front door is on the SAME DANG FUZE as the one plug in the basement connected to the light by our basement fridge.
WHAT IS UP WITH THIS HOUSE'S WIRING?!?!?!
And the second...
Rant status 2 of 2 today
On a more comical note, pun intended, I'm a bit confused as to how Invisible Woman's powers work. From what I understand of the update to her invisibility, it's that she creates a force field around her body, bending light around her so that it cannot reflect off of her.
Wouldn't this also make her blind? My reasoning being that if no light touched any part of her body, then light reflecting off of objects at her and making contact with her retinas would also be bent around her, resulting in no light reaching her eyes. And if she did let light through at her eyes, then wouldn't they become visible, making her a floating pair of eyeballs? I'm hoping my more comic book smart friends can help me. I know in fantasy things just work that way, but I have a character with an invisibility power that works off of light passing through him rather then around him. The thought came to me, while thinking of him, that Invisible Woman's powers then would just make her effectively blind.
The character of mine is Shane, codename Shade. His power makes light pass through him, and I even got the idea because I was thinking he might not be able to see either while his powers are on, but Invisible Woman especially would be blind. Suspense of disbelief I understand, but don't splash it with mediocre science to try and make it believable.
Anywho, that's as ranty as I get today. Love you guys, I hope to be writing some today and posting something within the week.

I need ideas
Posted 12 years agoFor a blog! I want to start one, possibly to make a little money on the side, but I want an idea to go with to start my blog. I'm not really sure what to blog about, but I want it to be something I can consistently talk about. I have a few ideas, but anything anyone suggests wont be out of the question.
1. My first idea is about the way music makes us see things. It's a well established fact that music can make us feel emotions, but when I listen to music I actually see things in my head. Sometimes not even in my head, as what I "see" is so vivid that I don't pay attention to the world around me even if my eyes are open, which sight is supposed to be an overriding sense (what we see tends to make us ignore our other senses). Why is that? Can music make us see things that aren't real, altering our reality? Can music change the way we see the world as a whole, making a happy day seem sad or a bad day seem happy? The blog would be a good mix of music and psychobabble. This I would update once a week.
2. Just a general daily life blog, blogging about things that I see that interest me. I'd update sporadically since I'd have to take an interest in something in order to blog about it.
3. An RP Blog. Talking about roleplays, fun things that happen when doing things with my friends, and recording awesome events that happen while playing games. Update regularly, though how often is up in the air.
4. A blog where I tell the story of my characters verbally. I got this idea because I've been having a ton of trouble putting into written word the things that are in my head. This is sort of a last ditch idea, not too into it but it seems like something I could do a lot of.
And of course, and ideas you guys think I would like too. Please help, because I'm on my ADD meds today, so this is the day I'm going to make the most progress. XD

Things happen
Posted 12 years agoI lost my father-in-law this week. Just needed to get that out somewhere. This is the second father figure I've lost in my life, and if my actual dad doesn't live until he's 125 I'm reanimating his damn corpse.
's dad was so good to me, and I miss him a lot. I lost my dad's best friend, Tim Formigan, several years ago, and that hurt because he was there for me from the day I was born, literally. And now big Brent is gone too.
I'm glad I'm an actor...
On a less depressing note, I found out Star Trek Online has the Romulan side available for play now, and I'm updating the game to do just that. I do enjoy the game, I just wish there was a better variety for missions, other then "Go here, find this," or "Go here, get this, bring it back here," and finally "Go here, blow this up."
Haven't wanted to write lately, for obvious reasons. I did have fun celebrating a local couple of fur's birthdays this week. We made floggers out of duct tape. Mine is a thicker one, while Brent's works like an actual 9-tail whip.
I do hope to get more of my character's up. Yes, the last list was not complete. I don't know if I should update that same journal or post a new one for the characters I missed. I would love thoughts on that.
Well, enough blabbing. I'm off to save the galaxy! WOOOOSH!!!

I do hope to get more of my character's up. Yes, the last list was not complete. I don't know if I should update that same journal or post a new one for the characters I missed. I would love thoughts on that.
Well, enough blabbing. I'm off to save the galaxy! WOOOOSH!!!
Character List
Posted 12 years agoSo I've been wanting to make a listing of my characters for some time, and I figured if I feel as lazy as I do right now, then I should do something productive, so here I go!
The list will be the characters names and a short description of them.
First off, the superhero universe of The Renegades
Alan Nicolas Wolfsheim - Cheetah, leader of The Renegades, codename Gatecrasher, can phase jump much like Lilith from Borderlands. Is my fursona and represents me in the furry community. If I would or would not do something, so would he.
Masamune Kuronai - White tiger, member of The Renegades, codename Tank, has incredible strength and nearly invulnerable. Sexaholic, alcoholic, frat boy, playboy, wrestler, and many other things, Masa tends to be loud first and think second. Actually a sweet guy, his caring nature gets outplayed by his bravado.
James McAllister - Brown rabbit, member of The Renegades, codename Tap, can borrow the unique powers of other people with abnormal genes. Cute, sweet, flirtatious, but always kind, James is level headed and cheerful even in dreary times. Always optimistic, his endless cheer can sometimes get on people's nerves.
Lurianna Gilgaia - White house cat, member of The Renegades, codename Siren, creates illusions by singing. Soft spoken because of her vocal powers, Lurianna is sweet but terribly ditsy and gullible. She always tries to help others, even when she has no idea what she's doing.
Baxter "Titmouse" - Dwarf albino mouse, member of The Renegades, codename Schism, can turn his body into electricity and travel through wiring and computer systems. An older man, Baxter enjoys women, and enjoys tricking Lurianna and getting her into compromising situations. He has convinced her that he needs to spend time touching her breasts or else he will die, as he is a "titmouse" and she doesn't understand what that really means.
Shane - Raccoon, member of The Renegades and of Stargaze, codename Shade, becomes invisible by altering the reflectiveness of himself and wears special clothes that become see through with him. Moody and dark, Shane is aloof and grim, always cynical and blunt. He has a soft spot for Navixus, and was a member of the Stargaze team of supers, which included Stella and Giselle. After the team's betrayal, he found a new home with The Renegades, and still searches for Stella.
Navixus - Mouse, member of The Renegades, codename Pyroclasm, can generate fire at will, though has issues controlling the flames once generated. Tortured by the experiments that gave him his powers, Navi is jumpy and timid, but tries hard to escape his past and becomes stronger, if only to impress Shane. He secretly loves the raccoon, wanting desperately to make him proud and hoping that Shane will some day return a little of his feelings.
Stella - Panda, member of Stargaze, codename Obsidian, generates mirror images of herself that can look and feel real, but fade after a short time. Using her illusive powers she evaded death when Stargaze was betrayed by one of their own. Her dying illusion was found by Shane, who believes her dead, and she is afraid of revealing herself to him after seeing the pain her supposed death caused him.
Myst - Gray house cat, former member of Stargaze, only her codename is known, and her fur releases small crystals that absorb light around them. A trained assassin, she betrayed the other members of Stargaze, Shane and Stella, out of greed and jealousy. Her jealous rage over the close friendship her teammates had caused her to betray them, lashing out in a murderous rage. Continues to work for whoever pays her the most, which tends to be the enemies of The Renegades.
Ricky Tormaline - Meerkat, independant, draws out people's wills by touching exposed flesh, the more intimate the stronger the effect. Ricky works for himself and only himself, though occasionally finds it in his interest to side with The Renegades and help the greater good. He has an entourage that serves him, their wills almost completely drained by his power, leaving them in a hypnotized-like state. Among them are a bull, a horse, two wolves, and a large black panther, all male.
Seamus Caedren - Red husky, detective and internal affairs representative for The Renegades, has the power to mentally rewind the space or subjects his eyes see, allowing him to have knowledge of events that occurred regarding an area or a person. An old friend of Masamune, the two have similar personalities, but Seamus is more reserved, a sweet talking Irishman who enjoys using his silver tongue to get his way rather then flashy displays. Handles communication with the government for The Renegades, informing local law enforcement when and when not to interfere.
Outside of this group, there's only a few more!
Terrakaris - Dragon, earth elemental and near god. Had power over the earth and all things that grow from it. Can shapeshift into a smaller form that looks like a 7 foot tall green lizard with horns, and loses his wings when he does so, though they appear as a tattoo on his back.
Hates David's older brothers because of what they do to him.
That's all I'll abuse you with for now. And yes, there are more. I just wanted to share. I feel better, but it's past 3am now. G'night!

1. The Renegades are...
... The group of superbeings created using futuristic science as living weapons. Freeing themselves of their creator's control, they fight against the evils their former masters continue to create, while seeking a place for themselves in society.
They are not...
...Mutants or The X-Men, or associated with the Marvel universe, unless a crossover happens.
...Actual renegades, but took the name to show their defiance to their creators.
...Unstoppable or perfect.
---
2. The Renegades do...
...Protect the innocent and those who do not have the power they do.
...assist those others affected by the experiments in finding a normal life should they not desire to join the Renegades.
They do not...
...Deliberately flaunt their power publicly.
...Use their powers for selfish gains, unless it is to help those affected by experimentation, at which they may use some power to influence benefactors.
---
3. The Renegades like...
...Having a family with each other.
...The unique traits of each member.
...Isaac Lazarus, a scientist who, while still occasionally working for their enemy, also assists The Renegades in whatever ways he can.
The don't like...
...People they care for dying.
...That their enemy continues to create monstrosities and living weapons.
...The villain Nightmare.
...Close minded people who cannot accept who they are.
---
Tag anyone?
Hmm.

I hate to be one of those people
Posted 12 years agoBut you're all gonna get it. I found the cord to my camera. 175 pictures, most of which are of FCN? Yeah, it's gonna happen. I'm putting them all in my scraps though, except maybe the ones of Fender, because otherwise I'd feel bad for the artists I push out of the way, and I'd have to find some way of knowing who all those people were I took pictures of. It's also why I'm making a journal, because only my watchers will get to see all 150 or so pictures.
Just know that I love you all.
Just know that I love you all.
First day was a blast!
Posted 12 years agoFCN ROCKS! I love love loved it! This also really made me want to get into the fandom a lot more now. And since nobody wants to hire me again -.- I'll probably be seeing a lot more of you all online. Which while not having a job sucks, I really want to get back into the fandom. I need a fursuit of my fursona, Alan, for sure, but I want to get a few others, like James and Lurianna who are roughly my size, so I can have fun as other characters.
Also, I had a Tiger's Roar, which was Jaegermeister and Red Bull, and wow. Never felt like that from one drink in my life. Kick ass. I got to see a bunch of people I haven't seen in a while, including Ix and Meiko, but also including Levin and someone I knew back at EMU 5 years ago.
Today also ALSO really made me want to get into writing and drawing more. I'm so excited. I just can't wait. I even got to be there as a new fur con in Wisconsin was announced by Alkali, and EEEE SO EXCITED!
You all get pictures Monday. That's right, I'm mean and don't share until after the con is all done, but it's only because I'm doing more tomorrow and because I can't find the right adapter to the computer to plug it in and take the stuff off of it. Which I really need to do...
ANYWAY YAY OMG FURRY CON AWLHSLGKAJDFLGKXHVCGLKERAYGLKAHDFG!!

Going to FCN next weekend.
Posted 12 years agoMost likely, at least. It'll be my first Furry convention, and I'm both excited and terribly nervous. I don't have a fursuit or anything, but I do have my awesome hat. I'd wear my tail from Ren Fest, but sadly there's a break in it, so I'll be babying it for a long time before I even consider wearing it anywhere. Anyone have any tips for being at furry cons? I have no idea what they are like, and wouldn't mind a hint as to what goes on there. I have ideas, of course, but I'd rather have them be confirmed or refuted first.
I WILL BREAK YOU
Posted 12 years agoWRITER'S BLOCK!!! HIYAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously, I wrote some tonight. IT WAS EPIC. Awkward, but it felt so good to get words down. Upcoming story about my second team from FFTA2, and I want to give everyone a bit of a heads up as to who those people are, since I'm rusty and therefore having a hard time describing them all. I'm a little ashamed to say that there's actually some literal introductions in there just to get it out of my head, but that's what revisions are for, right? Anyway, character time!
Dros is a Hume, Paladin/Soldier, general law-abiding guy and seen as the leader of the group, though he doesn't take any formal title as such. Headstrong and righteous, he likes things done neatly and well, which works for some of his team and not so well for others.
Watz is a Bangaa, Cannoneer/Warrior, and seen as being a bit "salty." Talks a bit piratey, and is a bit on the crazy side, but not in the bad way. Also headstrong, he tends to clash with Dros when it comes to orders, but always gets the jobs done.
Tsark is a Moogle, Mog Knight/Choco Knight, and while adorable is well disciplined. Exceptionally trained, he is both a weapon's master and a support for the team, his mounts providing either damage or support buffs depending on what color Chocobo he is currently on.
Pastelle is a Viera, Assassin/Sniper, cold, calculating, and efficient in every way. The rest of her team tries to get her to express herself, but she finds it hard because of the extreme training she undertook to become what she is: an unstoppable killing machine.
Vitor is a Nu Mou, Illusionist/Alchemist, and primary long range magic support. Thoughtful, he tends to over-explain complex things to people who don't understand them, but never takes offense when people tell him to stop talking, or really to anything.
Lenot is a Hume, Blue Mage/Seer, supporting the team with both offensive and defensive magics and whatever he picks up from monsters. The "Swiss Army Knife" of the group, he and Vitor share a special relationship, both as the only magic users in the group and because, secret to everyone outside the clan, they are a couple.
Yes, that's right, I made a gay couple in my clan. Why? BECAUSE I CAN, THAT'S WHY! And because as I was developing their characters, they just seemed like they would end up in a relationship with each other. Like it would just happen one day, our of the blue Lenot would just lean in and kiss Vitor, and it would be all cute and they'd just be dating and stuff after that.
Yeah, I get excited about this kinds of things... it's also 3am... shhhhhhhhhhhhiiiii-

I got fired.
Posted 12 years agoYup, lost my job today. This just blows. I really need a job to pay bills, but now I don't have one and don't really know whether I should look for a better one or get one at a similar level just to make ends meet for the time being. Or I could fight to get my job back, seeing as the reason I got fired was due to too many tardy-s, even though a good half of them are due to my finger prints being non-existant and the fact that my manager said it would get taken care of. But is my job really worth fighting for just to lose eventually? And don't get me wrong, I'm really upset I got fired, I loved my manager and she still wants to help me out, but I just don't know where to go from here. And how could I drive Brent to and from work and show my face there after getting fired? It just feels weird, and I feel like I let my friends there down, even though I would still be looking for a new job soon anyway and probably leaving in a month or so. I just don't like that I got fired, I guess, rather then just leaving on my own terms.
Also, I have a 3DS now. Just, you know, as a side note. So nice to have a new DS that all the buttons work on. It's an XL too, so the screens are huge.
Anyway, that's my life right now. Not sure if I should be upset or not, but things are what they are.

About dem journals
Posted 12 years agoI actually haven't been reading them. Screw my work. Holiday sucks to work retail, but more then that it sucks up all my time for everything. So tired, all the time, and with barely a dribble of money to show for it. I want a new job, but due to my apparent lack of qualifications, and my lack of honestly trying to find other places (it's true, I'm lazy) nothing is coming my way. I did apply to Costco, but no calls or anything. I know I should try harder, but again, no time due to working ever second I'm awake. At least it feels that way.
Also, I got Mass Effect 3. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Also, gay happens, and that's awesome to me. Took me a second to realize that one of the male characters had indeed said he'd lost his husband. His story is tragic, but he's so cute to make out with, especially with my hot Commander Shepard. TMI, I know, but I just can't get enough of the series. I plan on getting ME 1 and 2 eventually, but with so little money for games I chose to get 3 and just enjoy the best experience of the 3.
Probably going to move into our new place soon. Next Saturday, actually. Quite excited. Wish us luck, everyone. We may be without internet for a little while, but we'll survive. At least we need to. Cutting our gas costs will help, as will shopping better and getting food stamps. That's right, we're getting help from the system in a way that's totally legit. It's surprisingly common.
Anywho, I might actually bother to write some things soon. Dunno if it will be before or after the move, but some might be sfw and some might not be. Having a job that sucks makes ideas happen in your head because you need something to distract from the epic SUCK that is your work, yaknow?
Bed is a must now, so off I go to it. Or further to it. Or further in. Yeah. Night world.
