I don't keep y'all posted enough. I'm hoping to change that with weekly check-in posts, to include any art I finished or made progress on up to that point, side projects, and general life stuff. For now, I want to share my current state of mind and plans for the near future.
Overall, it's been rough on the daily, with my executive dysfunction at odds with everything I have to do. We recently cleaned house and organized things better, so common tasks are less tedious and we're not always losing things.
I also have a tendency to float between tasks instead of budgeting my time, which has made it really hard to make time for work between tasks and chores I see just passing through the house, and especially hard to get in any kind of groove or avoid burnout. My phone has a lot to do with distracting me on that front, too. I spent a good while today writing up a weekly schedule for my work and chores, then turning it into alerts on my phone, so hopefully that'll help me structure my days and actually get things done on a regular basis.
Moving forward, I really wanna get my Patreon running properly again, with DoeBuck rewards regularly offered and posted, and time set aside to develop one of my comics and make it a reality. I'm also gonna try to get Taco Tuesday, Weenie Wednesday, and Fashion Friday up and running again.
I don't know that I'll be getting back into streaming anytime soon, for several reasons, but I'll be reassessing that once I've gotten the hang of this schedule idea.
On the social media side, I've got a lot to do that's already somewhat in motion. I'm in the process of uploading a few years' worth of art to Bluesky as I transition off of Twitter. I'm scared and I need help. This month has once again been largely eaten up dealing with important things catching up to us and family crises -- including three pet deaths and two households needing rides after their vehicles broke down -- keeping me from working. I'm practically invisible in social media algorithms because I haven't posted much art in weeks, and when things finally settled down enough for me to sit still and do my job for a few days, I got sick with some stomach virus that has kept me bedridden, weak and in agony the whole time. I'm finally able to sit in a chair and write this from my desk without suffering, but I've been trapped in my head these last few days extremely aware of the fact that we have no money and nothing coming in, with a tire that needs replaced, limited food, and next month's bills on the horizon. My last few commission posts have gotten a few hearts but not a single bite, and I don't know what to do at this point except ask some more.
I'm trying to get art done, I really am. Every time I think I'll be able to work, something comes out of left field. If this sickness doesn't come back for an encore I might finally have ample time to accomplish something, but I need some kind of support to survive in the meantime, whether that's new commissions, tips, or buying from my merch stores or Bandcamp. Anything is greatly appreciated, and I promise I'll be working through owed commissions as fast as I can.

I'm on new medication and my mental state and functionality have vastly improved, but we've been busy with some much-needed cleaning and repairs that fell behind when I was busy with day after day of unpredictable and urgent problems and deep in depression. Work and my mental health have been a lot better and I feel like I can take on a couple quick, inspired commissions to help catch up on the bills between owed commissions. I feel like Pokémon TCG style art -- an action shot or a cozy slice-of-life -- would be fun, so I'd like to take 3 artistic freedom commissions with feral/on-model Pokémon OCs. I don't wanna have to do this, but my usual approach of taking new commissions as the bills come has resulted in the queue growing much faster than I'm drawing. Almost daily, unexpected business like car problems, dealing with the landlord, family struggling and needing our help, or just doing simple errands that always hit a snag and cost us the whole day somehow, keep me from working. When I do sit down to draw, it's so hard for me to make the correct lines and stay motivated because the weight of how much I have to catch up on and the oft-proven fear that something could interrupt me and take my whole day away at any moment are always on my mind.

I'm depressed. I'm scared. I'm broke. I'm losing my passion for my favorite things. I'm so anxious about every second I spend not drawing. Every time I have one good day, I tell myself and anyone with ears that things are getting better and I'll catch up soon, and then the universe somehow makes me a liar once again. The queue has gotten so long I'm afraid to count how many there are for my mental health. We're late on one of our bills and in need of basic stuff like laundry and cat food that we can't afford without taking away what little money I can scrape together by promising people I'll draw what they want eventually. Next month's bills start coming due in a few days.

I made some efforts to earn some money on the side, and none of it panned out and that time is lost. Even if someone hired me on the spot today, I wouldn't have a paycheck for a couple weeks. The only way we're going to make it is if I can make about $1500 within the next few weeks, and if I take that many more commissions right now, at the rate I'm going, you'll be waiting several months and probably exponentially increasing the wait for the inevitable next wave, and I'll continue the same cycle of panic and barely making it.

✨The point is, I need a month (at least) to catch up if I'm to continue doing art and music at all. I will accept commissions if you really want it that bad, but I'm asking for donations, full stop. If I can't get caught up, this is unsustainable, and my family will have nothing but the roof over our heads covered by my husband's disability check. If I get a job where I can't idly doodle throughout the day (i.e. most of them), I'll have a stable income but I won't have *any* time for art, and dozens of my customers who have already paid will be waiting well into next year. I've already been asked for a couple refunds I can't afford. I really don't know what to do.

As a full-time artist with a growing following, it's been getting increasingly hard to keep up with announcing when I'm open for new commissions. Recently I've started using Commissio to handle all my work, as it has a Stripe portal enabling anyone with a credit card or American debit card to pay, and it has a lot of great features for artists and commissioners. I can also manually mark projects as paid for those who pay with Cash App, but unfortunately I'm not able to take PayPal, which I thought I posted a journal about but apparently did not ^^;

tl;dr last February PayPal somehow found out I was an NSFW artist and banned me, even going so far as to take the $800 sitting in my account as "damages", despite any evidence that PayPal was being used for NSFW art. I'm still very salty about it.

We just found out my husband has cervical torticollis (also known as cervical dystonia), a chronic condition that causes muscle tension and spasms in his neck and shoulder which sometimes render him unable to move and frequently cause him a lot of pain. We've been advised that the best treatment would be medical cannabis, and he qualifies for a medical marijuana card due to the torticollis, but insurance won't cover it and we can't swing it out of pocket.
