Good place for christmas icons + stream information
Posted 13 years ago
Now to business. I've got a few pictures that should be ready to post by the weekend and then I'll be all caught up on stuff I have to do. However, I might not be streaming this saturday. My dad is coming home this weekend and it will be nice to catch up. I'm not sure if he gets home Saturday or Sunday. I will stream one of those days, I'm just not sure which one. I will also begin streaming on a regular Wednesday/Saturday schedule starting next week. See you all then.
Global Climate Change stopped 15 years ago!
Posted 13 years agoOr so claim a large number of news articles that I've been reading through. So far none of them have linked to any scientific articles which gives me great pause. I'll keep reading, but if anyone finds a link to the alleged Met office article that all this news is supposed to have stemmed from please send it my way as I would very much like to read it.
The closest thing I've found to a report from the Met office is the HadCRUT4 which appears to be nothing more than a data set.

Just a general update
Posted 13 years agoI have two freebees that I'm working on still and I am making progress, but it's going slowly.
I'm afraid my comics are on hold for the time being, but I'll try to get back to them soon.
I desire conversation; someone talk to me please.

Bad news about today's livestream
Posted 13 years agoI need help from those of you with story skills
Posted 13 years agoSo awhile ago I had a vote for what my next short comic would be and it was decided that I should do a short about the Colony-ship Abraham and I've been fiddling with it on and off ever since. I've finally got my broad strokes down, but the format for how I want to tell the story is less direct than what I originally thought it would be and I need help tweaking it to make it better. My dialogue draft is below. If you have time please read through and just tell me what works and what doesn't. The roman numerals are page numbers and starting page 3 I have specific dialogue assigned to characters and important actions written in asterisks where appropriate.

Victor reading from a console
Bernard walks in.
Victor is reading about the Abraham
Bernard thinks it's "stupid conspiracy theory bs"
II
Bernard says it was Theodore Joshua
Detective Hedrigson's notes confirm presence of Joshua
III
Victor: Hedrigson was also prone to taking excessively aggressive actions.
He has been documented numerous times saying
"better a thousand innocents die, than a single soul be allowed to sleep"
Bernard: In written reports by people who disliked his political views.
IV
Bernard: he has never said anything close to that, either on camera or in any reputable report of any kind!
Victor: Oh! So I suppose the Seraph Fleet Report isn't reputable, then?
Bernard: The SFR? Are you fucking serious, Victor? You want to bring up the shitpipe that reported the Iliad's routine engine maintenance as "a potential catastrophic failure" and tell me their fucking reputable?
V
Markus: What are the two waste hatches arguing about now?
Marla: Guess.
Markus: Ha ha! Is it too late to place bets on when the LT will--
Greta: Yes.
Markus: I didn't even--
Greta: No more bets.
Markus: I ever tell you you're a heartless bitch, Greta?
Greta: Yes. Makes me feel warm and fuzzy every time.
VI
Victor: And another thing! The Abraham's engines overloaded at 14:52, EXACTLY 2 hours after Hedringson's arrival on the ship.
Bernard: And it takes over 2 hours just to get through processing. Plus another half hour to get into Engineering NOT counting transit time!
Victor: And Hedrigson would have had the contacts to bypass processing entirely--
Bernard: BULLSHIT! Not even the Prophet can bypass processing! Joshua and his followers had planned this in advance!
VII
Bernard: The Abraham's records show an increase in new arrivals during the prior 2 months including multiple new engineering staff!
Victor: Please. Neither Joshua or his followers have ever even attempted to overload a ship's engines.
Bernard: Exactly! So no one was expecting them to attack in that manner--
Ceaser: Hey deadbeats! Stow it before I kill you both!
VIII
Bernard: Lieutenant, we were just--
Ceaser: I said stow it! The Abraham sank almost a century ago! How and why are not important anymore. I never want to hear you two having this fucking argument ever again! IS THAT UNDERSTOOD!?!
Bernard & Victor: *salute* Sir, yes sir!
Marla: *groans handing money to Greta* I should have quit betting while I was ahead.
Markus: You were never ahead and you know it.

So I had the best weird dream ever last night.
Posted 13 years agoAll sorts of crazy stuff happened to me last night ranging from hang gliding between giant towers inside my bedroom, to dramatic gunfights involving bungee jumping and trampolines. I snuck through high security areas like a secret agent and performed ballet against my will atop an unfinished wedding cake. I constantly awoke only to find myself in yet another dream. At one point the triangle button on my Playstation controller was voiced by Sean Connery. You guys should have been there. It was awesome.
And the best part is that a faint shadow of a story has begun to form in my mind involving absolutely none of those awesome things; and somehow potentially all of them. It's gonna be great. Stay tuned.

Minor Profile Updates PLUS one week left to enter my raffle
Posted 13 years agoIf you check my profile page you will find some links to my larger projects (i.e. anthro list and short comics) you will also find a link to my alternative account
bodosmere where I shall be posting ongoing comic pages on a weekly schedule (at least until I can learn some html and get it its own site).
Also, there is one week left to enter my art raffle
as of writing this there are only 9 entrants, so you're odds are pretty decent for winning still.

YukiYouko is having a raffle!
Posted 13 years agoA giant thank you to everyone!
Posted 13 years agoThere are few things I want more than to be able to support myself as a full time artist. It's been a long journey so far and I still have a very long way to go. So to all of my friends and watchers, everyone that has commissioned me, and everyone that faves and comments on my artwork, thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, because when I'm at my worst and don't think I'll ever make it to my goal, you make me feel like I will.
Still bored. FREE ART RAFFLE TIME!
Posted 13 years agoSo I'm still bored out of my mind and don't have enough to do. I have decided to have an art raffle. Enter for a chance to win something like the following:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8843791/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8843773/
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8780145/
Nice standard art raffle rules:
1: post a journal advertising the raffle
2: post a comment here linking back to your journal
3: winning picture must be kept to a pg-13 rating or less (i.e. no pornography)
4: winners will be announced on the 6th of October.
You can only be entered once, however if I get more than 25 entrants then I will do 2 pictures. Good luck to everyone.

I'm bored. Ask me questions!
Posted 13 years agoSince I'm not in school this semester, I have found myself with an overabundance of free time. Help me use some of it by asking me questions. I will then look through my catalog of answers and try to find one that matches your question.
So I have a couple ideas that I need input on
Posted 13 years agoI have two ideas that have been in my head for the past while.
Firstly, I've been considering moving the anthro list over to it's own page, just to help keep my gallery organized, and it's easier to move over while it's still small.
Secondly, I really really want to start an "art chain." What I mean by that is having one person create artwork inspired by something, and then another person makes artwork inspired by the first piece, and then a third person makes art inspired by the second piece, etc. Problem is, I'd need to have a fair number of people interested before starting.
Any feedback on either of these ideas would be very appreciated.

I'm looking into updating my livestream schedule.
Posted 13 years agoWith school starting back up for many people, I figure now is as good a time as any to look into updating my livestream schedule. If you could all be so kind as to take a moment to let me know what day(s) and time(s) work best for you I will be most appreciative. (Please don't forget to post the timezone your in so I can convert times over to my time.)
Seven artists to watch and why.
Posted 13 years agoThe following seven artists have less than 300 watchers (most less than 250). I wish to do my part to fix that.
franubis_91 has some of the best fur textures I've ever seen, and is one of the few artists I know of that posts multiple WIPs of each piece, allowing his watchers to see the entire creation process.

Anthropomorphizing Challange
Posted 13 years agoJust for fun, I am going to keep a public list of all the animals on my list of animals that I plan to anthropomorphize in the future. Should you have any ideas that you think would be cool on the list, feel free to share. The asterisks denote animals that I have finished, but not yet posted to my gallery. Once completed and posted I will change the names to links.
I find references to them by googling the names listed here.
Feel free to try anthropomorphizing some of these animals yourself. I'd love to see how other people approach the same task.

[small rant]So I tried playing Samurai Western again . . . .
Posted 13 years agoand I very quickly remembered why I started to hate it so much. It's not the ridiculous story or the monotonous game-play. I actually don't mind those. I can skip the story bits and sometimes I find it nice to play a game that requires no thought beyond "go break everything that isn't you" and for the most part the game is fun enough. But then I got to the levels comprised mainly of the stupid fat things that throw explosives. They weren't too bad at first, since there would be one or two and it added a bit to the enemy variety; then the game started throwing them out en mass. Then the game started to put them in hard to reach places; and unlike every other enemy in the game, you can't reflect their attack back at them. So I have to deal with an AoE, auto-knockdown, HIGHEST DAMAGE IN THE GAME ATTACK, by playing a 3D-platformer in a game that isn't set up for any kind of platforming anything and I end up dying to a bomb. And when I described the game as "break everything that isn't you" I meant that very literally. There are some levels that literally require you to kill everything to move on. I have beat the game on HARD, but there are extra stages that I can't beat on NORMAL because I either end up dead to a bomb, or dead to the boss because I have no life left because of BOMBS!
It's a shame too, because the bomb throwers are the only flaw in the game that I just can't look past. I can forgive the story. Not every game wants to be Mass Effect. Some games just want to be good, arcade style fun, where it's just you and a million enemies. I can forgive the monotony of the game-play because there's enough superficial fluff (character accessories, etc) that put just enough visual variety that it doesn't seem as monotonous as it probably is. Most of the enemy's work (all but ONE! ) and the bosses are all a blast to fight because I had to actually learn when they gave me openings, and how to exploit those openings. It was a blast to fight some of the bosses again and start to relearn their patterns and get good at fighting them again. And then I died to a bomb

I've got all the horrible quirks worked out I think
Posted 13 years agoSo as several of you know. I tried to do a livestream on Saturday and gave up because too many things weren't working right (or at all). Well, I seem to have all of those problems worked out now, so I'll see you all at my regular streaming hours of 16:00--20:00 MST on Tuesday and Thursday. I also plan on streaming at that same time on both Saturday and Sunday to make up for streams missed during the past couple of weeks. I hope to see you all there
