I got more submission notifications
(11988 submissions as of this writing)
in just one year;
far more than the 7 years I had from
my last year's journal.
I'm a hoarder.Also I know this has been months now, but I have 300+ watchers. Yay.Wow, what a watchlist!

Am I the only one who doesn't clear up their notifications and let them pile up until it gets to 5 or 6 digits?FA is back up again.
General | Posted 6 years agoAt least it came back after 48 hours, unlike, what I read, 3 weeks back in 2007.
During the time this happened, I have considered on diversifying my stuff on other accounts. No, I'm not leaving FA. The last thing I want is when a social media site like Tumblr bans stuff. And I'm thankful that I came back here months before the porn ban and I'm thankful for Postybirb for making it easier to post of multiple sites.
If anything, if in case FA crashes again, I have links provided on the footer.

Last week, I took a break from the Internet,
And after years of taking week long breaks, I got into a realization.
I get less distracted when I go offline.
Given that I still get bouts of frustration and lack of inspiration,
But going offline even for just a week makes up for drawing things.

The last time I posted there was last April this year (the first in around two years), and from then on, I just lurk there.
With all the time I have on posting my artworks more on Twitter and Tumblr, and then here, and rarely on other sites such as (sofurry and FN (which I'm using as backup art accounts just in case)), and almost never in DA, it made me ponder these questions.
Was it fading interest?
Was it that their Core Membership?
Was it that all these fetish art could not compensate with more explicit art?
Was it that with so much sites to post, we never got time for DA?
Any Watercolor Brands?
General | Posted 7 years agoAfter using a set of student grade watercolors like Simbalion/Artist's Loft,
which I find a bit dissatisfying, as the colors pick up when I touch them if I'm not adding my DIY binder such as glue,
I'm considering on buying a brand of artist-grade water as a step on becoming a serious artist.
I've seen a lot of Youtube videos about which, yet often I see are W&Ns, Daniel Smiths, and Schminckes,
which I could assure wouldn't be available in my country, or at least wouldn't be available in small towns in my country.
I have considered buying Sakura Koi, as it was available next town over my hometown, and are available in pans and tubes.
And I could not decide on whether I should buy the pans or the tubes, as much as I read reviews of each.
If anything, are there any recommeded brands out there? The criteria I have are:
* Artist-grade, or at least better than the one I'm currently using
* Brands that are available in the Philippines
* A budget of $20 (PhP 1000) or lowerSleep 💤

General | Posted 7 years agoThis was added three years ago, saying that you must cite everything from your work. Any when I mean everything, from reference photos to medium to textures to brushes, everything. I mean, Looking back, even thought it's for the creators' sake, I initially found this rule completely ridiculous, forcing the artist to cite everything regardless if they remember the source or not, and whether the resources they used was free or not. And I was pissed off when an artist I followed had all of their previous submissions wiped out from the gallery by that rule. Also, thinking of it now, as I'm also using traditional art, I ask myself, do I even need to mention the art materials that I always use in every single post?
AUP 2.5 was made in late 2015, and given time has passed, and with stuff changing all around, and copyrights are being challenged, such as the myriad of Chinese mobile game ripoffs, America with their Net Neutrality thing, Google removing the "View Image" feature, Youtube still lingering on the fallout that was the Adpocalypse, and e621 having new rules about paid content, how relevant is this rule to you?
Also, kindly reframe my perspective on that rule, since, though I'm no longer as enraged as before, I'm still confused by that rule.Back Again

I'm going back posting again on FA again after two years of semi-inactivity.
I'm much like any other person leaving FA, and then going back again.
But hey, two years is long enough.
I missed having comments in all of the posts I post and of the people I met.
Twitter and Tumblr is fine and all, but, it feels less sociable to post them on social media all the time.
So, just in case if I don't go under Twitter's and Tumblr's algorithm radar,
And for other things, I'll be posting here again, as well as on Twitter and Tumblr.
I do hope FA would strengthen their security measures, so that I won't have to leave again
And then come back again.

General | Posted 8 years agoMaybe I might be coming back slowly, since, pardon if I'm being an attention whore, I haven't had a lot of likes (save for two[ on Tumblr.) since I moved out. So, perhaps using this site as well as managing my Twitter, Tumblr, and FN and e621 might get a bit attention.
I don't know why I don't get any likes on my artwork on Twitter...Orctober, or not necessarily coming back to post but...

...I seem to be neglecting my account of what's happened here since I was gone for a few months now.
Like I said, I didn't say I'm leaving FA entirely.
Not to mention, I need to change my password again just in case.
And, I seem to notice the revamp on the beta. Interesting interface in how I simply state it.
Also, since I noticed my submission notifications are nearing 30000,
It seems it needs checking before nuking it out.
I haven't cleaned that shit four four years now! What a hoarder!
Did I say that out loud?
Moving on.
Since it's that time of the year again,

General | Posted 9 years agoExcuse me if I have the tendency to bring out the past and comparing stuff,
But in regards to part where FA was hacked and a week worth of files got lost,
And a lot of security measures has been implemented, which in my opinion, inadequate.
Perhaps this recent attack might've been a wake-up call for me that
Even though this site has been a nice place to "know and grow",
I had been staying in a place that is vulnerable and with a false sense of security.
And I had grown attached to this site despite having other accounts from other sites.
And, as I put in my last journal, the consequence that as I had been ignoring my other accounts and I seldom back up my files (at least until 2015),
I ignore posting them due to the lack of time or effort, or internet connection problems.
Like, say, DeviantArt, where I visit from time to time but rarely post even my non-furry sfw art.
And since I came to a thread and let's just say I "stepped close into the fire when I should've avoided it",
I took most of my time here, and gradually on Tumblr as well.
And the other factor is also be internet connection.
It proved to be difficult to post my artwork from other sites
When your neighbour's wi-fi connection gets slow or turns off suddenly.
Or my own mobile connection won't work and I have to place it where the signal is strongest.
Or when it reaches its data limit, whichever comes first.
And the habit of having too many tabs that I oftentimes forget what I'm doing.
That's all I can say for now. Back to FA...
I'm curious; with all it's flaws, ridiculous rules that had been added over the years (yes, I'm annoyed by the fact that I have to cite everything from brush strokes to background textures), and it's swiss-cheese security,
Why do some of it's users come back even from this fiasco, and
How did it manage to survive after years of server hacks and downtimes, while a site like SheezyArt didn't?
What's your comment on this?

General | Posted 9 years agoAlways have backup of your artworks --masterpiece, sketches, or shitposts-- ready on other art sites wherever, whenever.
Arduous as it is, but it might help.
A strategy I must do since I lost most of my stuff from my computer from 2014. Yes, even my files from The Sims 3.It's sad and anticlimactic that
