See you on Inkbunny!

I'll no longer be posting anything here, but I'll leave my gallery up with whatever the admins, in their infinite wisdom, decide is worthy of remaining.
P.S. One last note! There's no need to grab everything you can from my gallery; it's all up and more at Inkbunny already.

Seeking Snuffie Artists...
Posted 15 years agoSo I didn't spend much at Rainfurrest at all, and I'm thinking of commissioning someone for a snuffie idea I had. Alex Reynard says he's not so good with sequential art, so I'm shouting it out here--who is a) comfortable with snuffie, b) available for commission, and c) thinks they'd be able to draw the following idea well?
Arranged like a four-panel comic, but without dividers--it's all one scene, with the aftermath of events proceeding from left to right, with the present event on the far right.
The first three "panel" scenes would be various scenes of carnage with my dead body as the centerpiece, with some crumbs of green detritus scattered to the left. The fourth panel would be a very alive me chowing down on a green spotted mushroom, with a pixellated "1UP" appearing above my head. The caption/tagline/whatever would be "Extra Lives: The Cure For The Common Death."
I know I want to include hanging and falling on spikes as two of the deaths, not 100% certain yet on the third. But first, I'd like to hear from a) artists who might want to do this, and b) people who know artists who might want to do this. :3

Imagine, if you will...
Posted 15 years agoScene: Two guys, sitting on a couch, playing video games. Skinny stereotypically-nerdy types, open bags of Cheetos and potato chips and the like strewn all over. Third guy walks in, says "Hey guys" or something like that, picks up a controller, starts playing.
Fourth guy walks in. Incredibly buff, to levels where it's gotta be computer-generated. Double takes from the guys on the couch. "Whoa dude, what happened to you?!"
"They added achievements to Wii Fit."
(they haven't in the real world, I just thought it'd be a funny scene)

Crisis Complete
Posted 15 years agoPushing the other journal down as it is no longer current; Alex has been reinstated and all seems well for now.
I think that what we can take away from this is that when administrative action needs to be taken, making it light-hearted and funny is the wrong way to go about it. Dealing with violations of the rules is a serious matter and needs to be treated as such--anything else incites emotions and drama that can lead to further problems.
I believe that's all I will probably have to say on the matter in announcements like this.

Power Tripping
Posted 15 years ago[UPDATE: Guess they're trying to cover their tracks. The user in question has had their profile icon replaced again... by the default placeholder that should've been used in the first place. Talk about covering your tracks and making it seem like we're drama'ing over nothing. Once again, their actions are designed to place themselves in the best possible light.]
Something unconscionable has just happened. A dear friend of mine has been attacked, and my wolfie has posted a journal about the act. I will now repost here what he has said.
There is a time and a place, someone once said, to keep your mouth shut.
Now is not that time. Come hell or damnation, everyone on my watchlist will know this was done.
A dear friend of mine, Alex Reynard, has had his FurAffinity account hacked and banned. He has done no wrong, has stayed within the AUP, and has, aside from some heated journals, never attacked anyone.
Not only can he NOT log in and do anything about this, but now his art and journals and everything uniquely "him" on this website is at risk of either being deleted or changed to reflect whoever did this and their intentions.
The final straw is that his icon has been changed to "I <3 FA ADMINS".
Enough is fucking enough. When an admin goes right on into your profile and takes what they like, it's time to stand up and say enough.
Spread the Word. ALL of You.
Let your friends know to save their info and to be wary of any admin from this site.
I hate to say it, but I knew that this day would come, when the admins would do as they like and there is little that we can do about it.
Spread the word, people.

1. (X) Have you ever howled at the moon?
2. (X) Have you ever barked at someone?
3. (-) Have you ever found yourself drawing or scribbling furry art when you're supposed to be doing something else? {Drawing or scribbling? No. Looking at, or reading stories? Yes.}
4. (X) Have you ever worn an animal costume or tail as a child and pretended to be an animal? {Depends on how you define "child". I'm going to go with the legal definition, and say that capering about in a Leo the Lion costume for a Memorial Day parade in high school counts, especially since I think I was the only volunteer in the Leo Club.}
5. ( ) Have you ever eaten out of a dog bowl? (as a kid) {I vaguely recall that I might've done so once at a furry friend's house when we were out of cereal bowls... but in any case that was when I was older than 18.}
6. (X) Have you been to at least one furry con?
7. (X) Do you like to look at furry porn all the time? {And clean furry art, too!}
8. (X) Do you RP or play second life as a furry character? {Not as much as I used to, and I'm not on Second Life any more, though my avatar's still probably gathering dust there; I don't think they remove people.}
9. (X) Do you own a fursuit or at least a tail?
10. (X) Do you know what all these words mean or have used them at least once?
11. ( ) Do you have at least 5 videos of you acting or doing something furry on youtube?
12. (X) Has your fursona/character been drawn in a furry porn type manner?
13. (-) Are you well known in the furry fandom? {I'm not sure how well known I am, but a lot of people seem to have heard of me.}
14. (X) Do you dream furry while you sleep? {When I dream at all, sometimes it does turn furry.}
15. (X) Would you transform into your character/fursona if you were given the chance to live like that for the rest of your life? {Given that in character I can transform myself and put the illusion of a human over myself, I'd be able to continue my human life in any event, so this is kind of a no-brainer.}
16. (X) Have you ever worn a collar? (as a kid) {Oh this is just unfair. I'm going to be sneaky and say college counts.}
17. (-) Do you own more than 20 art badges of your fursonas or characters? {Oh, come on!!! I'm almost there--I have 16!}
18. ( ) Have you been to more than 20 furry cons in your lifetime?
19. (X) Do you think that deep down you have the spirit of an animal within you? {If I have a "spirit" at all, then this is true regardless of my beliefs... because humans are animals! Bwahaha! ...If this question is asking if I religiously believe in a non-human presence inside my body, then no. Except bacteria and other monocellular presences.}
20. (X) Do you enjoy hanging out with other furries?
21. (X) Do you think we should have a furry run for president of the USA? {Depends on which one.}
22. (X) If you ever became rich would you own a room in your house that was just to display your fursuits or furry art? {I plan to do this even without becoming rich--just put the art up all around, and more private stuff in the bedroom >_>}
23. (X) Is your best friend furry? {If by best friend you mean lifelong best friend... my mate is a wolf and my brother's a dragon.}
24. (X) Does your furry friends call you by your furry name in public? {It's appropriate too: I got my name legally changed back in 2005 so my old middle name is now my first name and my new middle name is Alfador!}
25. (X) Have you been in the furry fandom for at least 5 years? {May 9, 2000}

BONUS ROUND
Posted 15 years agoAND THAT'S A WRAP. Batch 7, the Bonus Round, has been posted, starting out with the commission I got from popuri, and ending with the one from Kuma-kun.
Batch 8 will consist of one, maybe two pictures (or maybe I'll also post the intermediate versions like I did with the guillotine pic) comprising a model sheet made for me by the great
alexreynard. It WILL take a while, and it's currently just getting started. But it will be of IMMENSE value in getting commissions, as I won't need to write a dissertation on my fur pattern just to make sure the artist draws me right--just show them the model sheet, and they can work off that far more easily.
The downside is it will take a long time, since we want to get this PERFECTLY right. The upside is that, being such good friends with Alex, I can work with him for a long time without feeling like I'm being greedy with an artist's precious time.
So: Coming whenever, Batch 8: The Secret Dungeon You Only Get To After Beating The Game On Its Years-Later Handheld Port And Is Full Of Palette Swaps Of Existing Enemies.

It's Coming...
Posted 15 years agoNo, not the Infernal Spawn of Evil, but a seventh batch of Scraps.
This one will be the Super Grab Bag, consisting of a few pics I missed in my first search of my hard drive for pictures drawn of me, commissions I've gotten since the start of posting Batch 1, and at least one picture I made as an alteration of someone else's art with permission.
So why am I not posting it already? Well... there's one last commission I want to make a part of this batch, and it isn't finished yet. However, I'm not about to hold the art hostage to try to get the artist to hurry up--this is one pic I DON'T want rushed, but right. So if it looks like it's going to take a while (and it most likely will), I'll post Batch 7 as is, and make the last commission the super secret bonus level Batch 8 all on its own. Any pics I find/make/commission thereafter will just be posted as I get them.

Almost there!
Posted 15 years agoJust finished: BADGES. Many badges I have gotten over the years, other than the ones I've already posted. >_>
Next up: the final Grab Bag grouping!
Next up: the final Grab Bag grouping!
More into Scraps
Posted 15 years agoSo after a few days of forgetting to post stuff here, I've resumed with the second Grab Bag group. I've posted half of it, and will post the other half later this evening. Or tomorrow morning if I forget... >_>
Unicorn Jelly
Posted 16 years agoI've just posted the entire third batch, this one containing various art that has been made for me by the denizens of the Unicorn Jelly Forums. Some of it may be rather perplexing as they reference conversation threads long gone by or even forgotten (I forget where the original THUD image came from, or who drew a new one for me or why).
Art, Second Part
Posted 16 years agoNext up: the first of three Grab Bags. I didn't work very hard on categorizing; my main concern was dividing them up so inboxes would remain unflooded.
Art Start
Posted 16 years agoAs noted in my previous journal, I have begun posting pieces of art done of me in my Scraps section. I have attributed credit to the artist wherever possible; if you are the artist and you want one of the following, please note me so I can update the submission:
a) If you want to change the name I used for you, as you go by a different name now.
b) If you're the artist of one of the pics I didn't know the artist for, and you'd like credit.
c) If you know the artist of one of the pics I didn't know the artist for, and believe they'd like credit.
d) If you want me to add a link to your FA page or other gallery.
e) If you want me to remove attribution as you would rather not be associated with that picture.
f) If you want me to remove that picture entirely as you would rather it not be public at all.
I'm uploading them actually in HALF batches, as I split them up into six batches, but each one contains around 10-13 images, so I'll upload one half of the batch now, and the rest tomorrow (or, since it's after midnight, later this evening). Three of the batches are vaguely themed, but there's a ton of overlap, and three of the categories are "Grab Bag" anyways.
First batch: Ancient Art! Art that's very old, and in some cases the artist may have forgotten they drew it. (In one case, I believe the artist died years ago, if memory serves. ;_; ) And already there's an exception to the rule; I threw in Mahawkee's picture of a female version of me, since I haven't heard from Mahawkee since Wrath of the Lich King came out...

ART AHOY
Posted 16 years agoWhile I'm working on a brand-new snuffie story for all of you, I keep seeing people post art of their character by other people in Scraps, and honestly, I should do that. There's a great deal of ancient commissions and gift art done for me, for which I have no idea if the artists are even on FA, much less if the art is posted here. And more that I know is already posted here, but might be nice to all have in one place.
And there's a few badges I have that have either no or an unintelligible artist's signature, and I can't remember who I got 'em from. So if you spot a badge and either recognize the style or remember drawing it yourself, but I say I don't know who the artist is, let me know!
(Also, if you are an artist who wants to be credited under a different name, eg. you've changed the character you put up as your online front, and want to be credited under that character's name, let me know. Alternatively, if you would rather not have any credit for the picture at all, which is understandable given some of the subject material, let me know and I'll anonymize it.)
In the next few... weeks... expect to see a bunch of new posts by me that are not actually by me. I will do my best to credit all artists. I will also do my best to post them in small batches, so your inbox is not flooded by my rampant ego. I've already finished scanning in the eight badges I didn't have in digital format, and shall now commence grouping up the pics and typing up some captions for each.

[SUBJECT HOLIDAY HERE]
Posted 16 years agoSoooooo Christmas was awesome. Zephie felt very loved when I took him over to two family celebrations--first to Pa and Susie's on his birthday (Christmas Eve) and then to Aunt Debbie's on Christmas day. (Having previously gone to Pa and Susie's on the 20th for cookie decorating.)
Long story short, I gave stuff, I got stuff, but what made it all warmest and happiest for me was spending time with family and not having to hide the fact that I have a boyfriend.
One of the things I got was Left 4 Dead 2, if anybody wants to play that with me. :3 THANK YOU, Siraj and Zephie!!
[EDIT: The following is no longer accurate. Jasu got it for me. THANKS JASU!]
Steam's having a huge sale on games until January 3rd, which just so happens to be my birthday. I'm looking over at Zephon playing Torchlight and it looks awesome, and it's only five bucks. To put it bluntly, if any of you are planning on getting me that as a birthday present, let me know now or I'll buy it myself. It looks COOL.
Merry Christmas to all of you, and whatever other holidays you celebrate, have an awesome one of those, too.
*hugs*

Gosh, it's been a long time since I updated this...
Posted 16 years ago@_@ So apologies to everyone who uses this as a way to keep up on how my life's going.
I'm a bit sleepy so I'll give the quick rundown on recent events.
Got laid off and am looking for work. Some of you may already have heard this; it happened back at the beginning of November. If you know a company that's hiring a programmer with few strong programming languages but the capability to learn a new one fast (especially if it's in the C/C++/Java-similar family), who desperately wants some experience with a USEFUL, CURRENT source management system (the one I used for two and a half years was already outdated when I got hired, but we clung to it tenaciously) and to work with a company that actually keeps their documentation... or a company that's hiring an Engineer In Training with an Electrical Engineering background but hasn't kept up on current knowledge (bad engineer, no dispenser)... let me know.
zephontsol is now living with me. We were unofficially dating pretty much since Anthrocon or a little earlier... it's official now (well, as of him moving in back in October). With Zephie's help, our apartment has gotten far better organized and clean, and it just got even more official since today we got Christmas photos of us together to send to select family members (and separate photos for other relatives). Love my wuffie.
Zephon and I managed to get the big freezer up and running, and a Costco run filled it to brimming with useful foodstuffs.
The raid I'm in plowed through all four of the currently available bosses in Icecrown Citadel last Wednesday, the day after the patch came out. We got up to Deathbringer Saurfang as raid time ran out, and took a vote on whether to stay for a couple attempts, or call it for the night. Invisibo said only a unanimous Yes vote would have us staying. It was unanimous. Downed him on the second try. This week, we surpassed that achievement by not only getting two boss achievements in Icecrown (Boned and I've Gone And Made A Mess...) but finishing it and the weekly raid quest (XT-002) so fast that we ALSO polished off ToC Heroic with only two wipes. I got my third Trophy, and went ahead and bought two more pieces of T9 that just BARELY make up for the loss of the awesome 2T8 bonus... but I still need to get a new meta gem. Got a ring off Saurfang this week, though. A great staff dropped in the Tribute chest and I won the roll... but after some thought I passed it off to the beartank because I'm hopefully going to find a Battered Hilt soonish.
Zeph and I went to see Fantastic Mr. Fox. We both came out with mixed opinions of it; he felt it was too clichéd and I agree, but I enjoyed it anyway because they pretty much seemed to be hanging a lampshade on most of their clichés. I thought it was overall fantastic *groan*. ;)
I also finished A Boy And His Blob, Wii version, this week. I highly recommend it to anybody who wants to feel like a kit again. =^_^=
Found a used copy of Metroid Zero Mission in the mall where we got our pictures taken, and unlike the Metroid Fusion cartridge I got, it actually still keeps save data (I think it uses Flash memory instead of the older battery-backed RAM). So there's fun there.
That's about it for now. Sorry again that I went for so long without an update. I didn't fall off the face of the Earth and die... or if I did, I got better, as my icon shows. ;)

Thou should read this

Seriously. Read it all the way through.
Also, a contemplation: We poke fun at our politicians because we have to, otherwise they might think they own the place.
If you are forbidden by law to poke fun at your politicians in your country... then they DO OWN THE PLACE. And you would be well advised to repossess it.
