I'm making a new journal for the sake of it.

Don't have all that much to say! I've been struggling a lot in terms of deciding what projects I would like to focus on and how to divide up my time. I work so much and really only have one day off a week to do anything personal outside of squeezing in time after I get off work. Kinda sucks but I need money to live!! Who would have thought!!

Right now my happy place is drawing or writing about Dyo. So you'll probably just continue to see more of that until I move on to my next obsession. Unless that next obsession... never comes?? Who knows with me!!

Anyway. Other than that, I decided I'm going to make the final stream of every month a gaming stream unless I have outstanding commissions I have to work on. So that'll be a fun thing to look forward to as a stress reliever every month!

Just... vibing and trying to find happiness amongst the stress of this world right now. Sending well wishes and strength to everyone!!

We still got half a month left, but I just wanted to toss a few things here for the moment!

This year was kinda rough in a lot of ways. I felt like I couldn't get a leg up financially; kept having big expenses pop up like emergency vet bills and the like. My comic has been on hiatus due to needing to take commissions and work more hours at my day job. I have been working 40 hours during holiday season like always which has just drained me creatively. It makes me really upset, but I know it's not dead. I just gotta get back up at the start of the new year.

I'd like to get better about organizing myself. I went through a period in 2020 or around that where I was making exceptionally good progress on work/life/art balance. That's been so dead lately. I want to stream commission more for side income, I want to work on the comic, I want to finish some stories I left on the backburner, and I want to keep drawing cringe art LOL I just... gotta figure out how to do it. I don't have ADHD or anything like that, but I have trouble focusing/keeping schedule on things that don't result in backlash. Like, I never fell behind in school because I'd get bad grades otherwise. I get commissions done timely because not doing so reflect poorly. But things like side stories or what-have-you, abandoning them doesn't have a repercussion so my brain files them away as unimportant and I never get them done or even started. It's so frustrating. It's a big hindrance in my creativity and always has been.

So, 2023, we will see. I want to try out new thing with scheduling and see how it goes.

Negatives aside, this year was also REALLY great socially. I met SO MANY of my online friends in person this year! I felt like throughout the year there was always someone visiting or I'm travelling somewhere (being as covid safe as possible of course). It was really really nice, and MFF just topped it off! I try not to think about MFF too much because it was so great and thinking about it gives me that post con depression LOL But it was a blast! I miss my friends already and can't wait for FWA to see some of them again.

The funniest thing about this year was seeing how I switched obsessions yet again. Like, idk what it's like to see me from a third party but it's gotta be funny as hell to my long-time followers who just know when I'm up to my shit again. Bird man obsessed since 2017 then suddenly dwagon time! And you guys don't even question it, and plenty full-fledge support it. Warms by dusty old heart. Bless you putting up with me LOL

Anyway, that's about it. At the moment I'm just trying to make it through the holiday rush at work. It's turning my brain into mush and I'm not keeping up well with anything outside of it. But fingers crossed in the new year things go back to normal and I can breath again!

I just learned you can put footers on all your art submissions...
I've just been copy/pasting from a document all these years...

Anyway. So I figured that out. Now all my old submissions have duplicate footers and I cannot be bothered to fix it LMAO


That aside, how is everyone doing? I hope everyone is handling life as well as you can!

I'm going to be dropping a couple YCH auctions this week. 2-3 probably. I think I'm going to make them 24hr auctions, and after 24 hrs (maybe 48) passes and if there's no bids I'll put em up for a flat rate. Miss doing YCHs so I'd like to try again!

 stupidshepherd and I are gonna try out another group collab YCH too since it's been YEARS since we did one last! Not sure when that one will drop though but it's in the works!

Besides that, I would like to put up another Commission Stream this month. My schedule at my day job is extremely erratic and doesn't provide very many good chances to do one since I work closing shift and rarely get off on weekends. Currently the closest best date I can give is Wednesday the 20th. It's weird having a stream in the middle of the week but unfortunately it might just have to be the case!

Quick update journal just to tell you guys I'm drawing stuff consistently, I just suck at remembering to upload here :') I check FA daily! Multiple times! I just... never remember to post stuff!

I'll be honest, the reason I forget is because FA is the ONE site I use, Instagram aside, that doesn't have a schedule/queue feature and that's exclusively all I use in order to post my things NOT at horrible times. I have tried using Postybird and just didn't like it soooo this is the suffering we must endure.

And even then, I still suck at remembering to post things LOL Am GEWD artist.

It's finally time again for another stream! I'll be hosting a commission stream this Saturday, June 13th roughly around 5-6pm CST give or take an hour.

Slots will roll as follows:
Slot 1: Patreon-exclusive (unless no patrons want anything). If multiple patrons want something, the slot will be chosen based on either a raffle or artist's choice.
Slot 2: Artist's Choice. I will choose this through entries submitted from the Google form.
Slot 3: In-stream raffle. This will be chosen as usual via the members attending the stream at the time! I will host this raffle around an hour into the stream!

There will also be a Patreon-Only stream Monday June 15th also around 5-6pm CST. This stream will focus on watching page progress mostly, but I will be taking a few Patron-only requests!

Due to several people suggesting it over the last months, I am considering adding a couple commission-specific tiers to my Patreon!

My Patreon is focused on my webcomic as a tip jar of sorts in order to help me produce pages consistently, with the soonest goal being to hire a flatter to increase output (even if people have been willing to volunteer in the past, I absolutely prefer to compensate them!) but unfortunately due to COVID-19 a few patrons have had to pull out, which is more than understandable! I have paused billing for this month in order to lighten the load for everyone, because I appreciate them immensely for your/their support!

Because making a second Patreon is not an option for me due to it honestly just be convoluted, I honestly do not mind adding in some non-comic-related tiers to it, so long as you don't mind being spammed with comic shenanigans throughout the month as well!

I'm going to be starting off small with only 2 tiers, 1 slot per tier: one slot for a colored fullbody and one slot for a colored fullbody with background or 2 busts. I have not decided price point yet, though it might be a smidge higher than my current prices solely because it would be a guaranteed slot every month off-stream. Which means if I'm unable to do a stream that month, it won't matter, you'll still be guaranteed a piece (I will likely make those tiers exempt from my Patreon-priority stream raffles, although you could still apply for regular raffle slots!). If things work out in the future, I may add more slots to each tier, but I do not want it to overshadow my time to work on the comic as that is the priority.

So let me know what you think of this idea! If I implement it, I will publish them starting in April sometime.
