COMMISSIONS Changes

I've decided I'm going to raise the prices of the background option on my commissions.
So I'll be upping the background price to a base of $35 total for 1 character fullbody and $30 for a bust. It's only a +$5 markup, but still, I wanted to be transparent and notify about it. The rest of the prices will be staying the same.
I'll be changing the price end of the month, so if anyone wants to snag a piece with a simple BG for the current $30 for single character/$25 for bust, just lemme know!

New Year, New SHENANIGANS

I'll keep this journal super short n sweet. I'm almost done with my first week of the quarter and from what I can predict, this'll be a pretty chill/fun quarter for me.
And by that I mean I won't die horribly doing classwork. I predict after this weekend things will begin to calm for me and I can begin my new schedule.
I won't be home-free from work. In place of my free time, I'd like to focus in on my comic stuff and a few other things. This is the year I plan to launch a Patreon and get serious about updating my comic frequently. I'll be graduating SCAD this June, and I'll finally be able to put the last 7 years of schooling to rest. Of course, the jobhunt will begin/has already begun, but that aside, I'm planning on spending the remainder of the year on my projects, just to see what becomes of them by 2019. We'll see how things go when that happens.
So basically, this is the year of change and experiment.
Otherwise, I'll be taking commissions as frequently as I can (thank you to my recent patrons!), probably hosting more streams, and working on a couple misc projects, namely the layouts for a friend of mine's film and some personal challenges. I hope after this weekend when I settle in from this quarter's start, I can get a consistent workflow going on my queue.

So, not sure if anyone noticed, but I've been slightly less active online than I usually am. That's because this quarter of school was horribly time consuming and painfully difficult. Like, literally painful. My hand still hurts.
But it's over and I survived! Now I have a little over a month break to do my own thing! Hurrah!

Sorry for lack of updates lately! Been visiting family this past month. I wasn't able to draw nearly as much as I wanted, when I did I had a lot of pain (including my hand crapping out on me for a couple weeks), and at times I just didn't feel like it.
However, I'm back settled into my usual place so it's back to work! So expect some more content this month and next before my school quarter starts up again in September!

SUPER QUICK Update
Posted 8 years agoI'll keep this brief since it's nothing overly exciting, but I'm trying to keep all my sites as updated as possible!
First things first, thank you to everyone for commenting on my last journal! Your comments and feedback really meant a lot to me <3
For anyone watching for my comic, The Selection, it's sort of in a limbo-pause at the moment since my school is really overwhelming this quarter. There's not really much happening, but the organization of everything is just going wacky. It's been this way since week 1 pretty much. I'm not sure what it is... I'm enjoying my classes, just not enjoying the progress of working (I do enjoy the end products, at least). I know it's not quite burn out, but I kinda think I'm just eager for a longer break so my motivation is slowly draining out. There just wasn't any breathing room after Winter quarter and my classes then were insanely draining, along with the comic I was pitching. So I think leading into Spring has been disorienting.
I also have just been in the mood for drawing some miscellaneous fun things that I hope I can do during free time. But I also don't want to push any owed work aside for that, so I'm going to try to fit it all in whenever I have space in my schedule (although all my obligations have super loose deadlines). Tonight I'm going to try to get some work done on that after my school responsibilities are finished.
Hoping come Summer I can reopen all my commissions and such things and get a better flow going. In the mean time, I appreciate everyone's patience!
As well, Marly has still been improving after her amputation! She's almost entirely healed up and back to normal, save a couple small things. I'll be sure to keep updates on any changes!

OPINIONS on NSFW Art and Commissions?
Posted 8 years agoGreetings all! A brief update one Marly: she's doing great! She came home Wednesday and has been doing exceptionally well. She's walking around a decent bit, eating, using the bathroom, all the usual stuff. She's still super sore and isn't 100% back to normal, but she is doing very very well on three legs thus far and recovering at a very good pace!
I was talking with stupidshepherd today about the future of paying off her bills and the idea of NSFW commissions popped up. I'm not sure what they will end up doing, but for myself, I've been battling for awhile now on how to handle NSFW requests. First things first, I have zero issues with adult artwork. It doesn't phase or bother me remotely when others do it and I like looking at it just fine (does nothing for me, if you know what I mean, but I like it for the artistic side of it). I dabble in adult work privately from time to time, but when it comes to posting it and drawing it for other people... I'm not quite sure how to feel.
I have absolutely no interest in drawing other people's characters engaged in porn. Like. I just don't want to do that. If I ever post any explicit content involving straight-up porn (aka intercourse) I want it with my characters and my characters only. I dunno how to explain why, I just don't think it would be fun for me. And I don't want to offer something that both won't be fun for me and won't come out great because of not enjoying it. But when it comes to tamer NSFW, such as certain fetishes, I feel more open to it. Things like bondage, BDSM/dominatrix, vore, paws, (clean)babyfur etc. are fetishes I've been interested in illustrating but either haven't had time or had no characters that fit. I'm also interested in just basic stuff like nude pinups that aren't remotely fetishy but are still adult. If you guys remember years ago I had a lot of fun doing bondage/dominatrix stuff with my character George and Pyro's Meredith and uggghh I miss it.
And I also just... really wanna draw NSFW of my own characters and post it for a change. But I guess I'm still shy? I don't know. It's like it's one thing to draw it for myself and another to post it for the world to see. I'm still worried it will somehow taint my image or reputation. I also don't want to be known as a porn artist and I'm afraid once I unleash that to the world, that's all people will want from me, even if I only draw it every now and again or for money. I don't want people to come to me for porn, I want them to come to me because of my art, characters, stories, etc. If that makes sense? I understand porn will inherently gather more people. Sex sells, after all. I'm okay with the idea porn would be my top favorited thing in my gallery. But having it be me as an artist... I don't want that?
I'm just kinda conflicted. I would like to venture into some adult work, but then I am kinda scared to. I lean to just wanting to stick to doing my own characters, but opening opportunities for tamer stuff in commissions or YCHs would help a lot with scraping up money to help pay for bills, such as Marly's surgery costs. And maybe help get me out there? I've struggled these last few years to gather followers and, well... "selling out" is enticing sometimes (though I don't like to call it selling out because I mean nothing negative about it but, ya know).
Can anyone give feedback or opinions for me? Would anyone be interested in purchasing NSFW from me? Would me occasionally dabbling in NSFW change your opinion of me and my stuff? Would you rather I stick to SFW only?
Before anyone asks about creating a second adult-only account, I've considered that too. I just don't think that's worth it. It's been hard enough for me to gather the following I have, I really don't want to start over. And I also don't want to have horrible self esteem if for some reason that adult gallery gets more than my clean.
Reiterating once more, I have zero issues with porn. I don't see anything wrong with people doing it. It's an art just as much as clean content. This is only in regards to myself and my own work, so don't get me wrong! I'm in no way being pretentious about it regarding what others do.

FWA Recap + Kitty Cancer UPDATE
Posted 8 years agoGreetings all! I'll try to keep this one short and sweet. Though, if you want a longer version here's my deviantART journal.
Before I start, anytime I say "we" I mean myself and StupidShepherd (just for clarification).
So let's start off with the kitty stuff.
Monday we took Marly in for her surgery consultation and long story short, they gave us the option to amputate THAT DAY. We decided to go with it and Marly successfully went through surgery between 2-4 pm. We have gotten word several times from them that she is doing very very well and even got up to use the litterbox! So I hope this means she's adjusting already to three legs. I'm sure she will still struggle for awhile, but we are prepared to help her along as much as we can!
In regards to the bill... we took out money from savings to pay the $2,600 deposit and will pull out more for the rest. We will continue with our Marm Fund to make it up since that money is rather important until Pyro can get a job. Just so we are transparent in letting people know what's going on with all that. We have the money technically it's just that we kinda also don't have the money since we have to pay it back (our parents are helping). It's a weird situation but I hope that at least makes sense!

And now happy news. FWA!
It was, to put it simply, AMAZING. The hotel was great, the staff of the hotel and the con were great, the people were THE BEST. Seriously, I did not expect everyone to be so friendly! I felt like I could talk to anyone I ran into. Even people in suits were extremely friendly! I've been to other cons before, and never have people been so kind and welcoming. FWA was my first furry con and now I can say for sure that it will NOT be my last!
The Artist Alley is where we spent most of our time, between 10:00-3:00 Saturday and Sunday. While we didn't make bank, we DID make a hefty amount! We learned our mistakes this time and what to do differently the next. My biggest issue was mostly that I need to try out colored things (watercolor maybe?) and I need more examples. I keep forgetting I don't draw a lot of common animals that people could envision their characters in. So next year I'll go in with a better binder of samples. I was really pleased with a lot of the feedback I got from folks, though, on what they enjoyed about my work! It was very very flattering! I would really like to do something with my comic next year too to promote it.
Honestly, I think the Artist's Alley kinda opened my eyes a little on how to approach the fandom with my work. I never feel like my artwork really "belongs" in the furry fandom. It's not cute... it's not really special... I don't really know what it is? I got a lot of compliments on my stuff but comparing how few people actually came to follow me online vs how many people took my business cards was rather telling. So I think I need to find some way to prove to the fandom I'm just as great. I just gotta figure out how and I accept that challenge!
And!! Awesome of all!! I got to meet the fabulous
singingfoxes! Which is LITERALLY AMAZING because we have known each other through deviantART for the 10 years I've been on there! We grew up through our cringy teen years on here so it was really cool to get to meet in person! I really wish we could have talked longer! To anyone who talked with me, I'm sorry if I rambled on and on or was awkward at all! I do that thing where I continuously talk or say dumb shit to prevent pauses in conversations. All in all I had a great time. We ended up calculating everything up, and counting the profits the two of us made in the alley and pre-order badges Pyro did prior to the con, we not only made back ALL the money we spent for the FWA fund BUT ALSO we made a little bit of profit! All of which went straight into the Marm Fund! Obviously this made us feel a good deal less guilty about going in the first place.
I am so, so happy I got to go. It was a huge stress relief from this year and was just an amazing experience. I am absolutely addicted now and, if it hasn't been clear already, I'm already planning for next time! Get your Space Cowboy gear on~

Before I start, anytime I say "we" I mean myself and
StupidShepherd (just for clarification).So let's start off with the kitty stuff.
Monday we took Marly in for her surgery consultation and long story short, they gave us the option to amputate THAT DAY. We decided to go with it and Marly successfully went through surgery between 2-4 pm. We have gotten word several times from them that she is doing very very well and even got up to use the litterbox! So I hope this means she's adjusting already to three legs. I'm sure she will still struggle for awhile, but we are prepared to help her along as much as we can!
In regards to the bill... we took out money from savings to pay the $2,600 deposit and will pull out more for the rest. We will continue with our Marm Fund to make it up since that money is rather important until Pyro can get a job. Just so we are transparent in letting people know what's going on with all that. We have the money technically it's just that we kinda also don't have the money since we have to pay it back (our parents are helping). It's a weird situation but I hope that at least makes sense!

We set up a GoFundMe which hasn't gotten much traction but I figure I would link it anyway. We've been much more successful with commissions and generous donations on here. But at least we have options!

And now happy news. FWA!
It was, to put it simply, AMAZING. The hotel was great, the staff of the hotel and the con were great, the people were THE BEST. Seriously, I did not expect everyone to be so friendly! I felt like I could talk to anyone I ran into. Even people in suits were extremely friendly! I've been to other cons before, and never have people been so kind and welcoming. FWA was my first furry con and now I can say for sure that it will NOT be my last!
The Artist Alley is where we spent most of our time, between 10:00-3:00 Saturday and Sunday. While we didn't make bank, we DID make a hefty amount! We learned our mistakes this time and what to do differently the next. My biggest issue was mostly that I need to try out colored things (watercolor maybe?) and I need more examples. I keep forgetting I don't draw a lot of common animals that people could envision their characters in. So next year I'll go in with a better binder of samples. I was really pleased with a lot of the feedback I got from folks, though, on what they enjoyed about my work! It was very very flattering! I would really like to do something with my comic next year too to promote it.
Honestly, I think the Artist's Alley kinda opened my eyes a little on how to approach the fandom with my work. I never feel like my artwork really "belongs" in the furry fandom. It's not cute... it's not really special... I don't really know what it is? I got a lot of compliments on my stuff but comparing how few people actually came to follow me online vs how many people took my business cards was rather telling. So I think I need to find some way to prove to the fandom I'm just as great. I just gotta figure out how and I accept that challenge!
And!! Awesome of all!! I got to meet the fabulous
singingfoxes! Which is LITERALLY AMAZING because we have known each other through deviantART for the 10 years I've been on there! We grew up through our cringy teen years on here so it was really cool to get to meet in person! I really wish we could have talked longer! FWA meme + Kitty Situation UPDATE
Posted 8 years agoAhh snap yall, I just realized I haven't been writing any journals on here! I guess cause I know most folks don't read them here compared to my dA. Alas! I shall make one now!
So for anyone who has watched me will know via some of my recent submissions that the situation with stupidshepherd's cat cancer is still a thing. On the plus side, thanks to everyone for donating or purchasing things from us, we have successfully paid off the 1k+ vet bills for Marly thus far! THANK YOU THANK YOU! Another sorta(?) good news is we finally got vet approval for Marly's amputation as he noticed, along with us, that the tumor on her paw has grown since last month. We are even starting to wonder if the foot is bothering her a little bit now. The earliest consultation for the surgeon we could get was April 10th, so on that day we will get all the info on what's going to happen and schedule the actual surgery. Costs for that will be around $3k. Both Pyro and I will continue holding PWYW commissions, YCHs, and adoptables until we can pay that off. So keep an eye out between the two of us!
Now with all that in mind comes Furry Weekend Atlanta. The two of us had been planning to go for the last 2 years. Last year fell threw because we couldn't snag a hotel in time. This year we finally got one AND set aside a nice fund for our costs. When the cat cancer situation came up, we decided to hold off touching that money just in case, but with the idea that if we can't pay off the bills we would dip into it. Because of everyone's generosity, we successfully paid off the bills and still have this FWA fund available. Despite a lot of conflicts and guilt about whether or not we should still go, we got a lot of encouraging comments from friends and folks heavily suggesting that we continue to go. This year, in the puny 3 months it's been, has been horrifically stressful dealing with this cancer, school, not being able to find employment, family issues, and misc things between the two of us. So a small break via this convention will do us some good and help us relax before having to mentally prepare for Marly to become a tripod kitty.
While there, we will be trying to snag spots in the Artist's Alley to sell some stuff. We will be selling the prints I have posted previously among some other things. I'll be selling everything listed along with doing some commissions and Pyro will be doing the same. Any profits from that will go straight to Marly!

UNCREATIVE Title!
Posted 9 years agoSo I just finished my first half-week of the quarter and got introduced to my classes and though it's still early I think it's safe enough to assess how the next few months will be: helllaaa busy!
It's okay, though, cause the classes are fun! Got great professors and, though the workload is going to be taxing, all the assignments are creative and I know I'm going to learn a lot. The downside is simply that, well, I won't have much time to do artwork that's not for school!
Not that I'm not gonna try, I definitely will, but this is just a heads up in case people were expecting something from me.
Going to try to get some comic pages finished up so I'll at least have those to post on their usual schedule.
Otherwise, you'll have to accept seeing my school work and/or waiting until the quarter's over for quality content!

December UPDOOT + 2017 Goals
Posted 9 years agoGreetings all! Super quick things to mention today.
The main thing is I'm currently on winter break! It won't be lasting very long since my school quarter had to be extended due to the recent hurricane. It sucks but alas, what can you do? I return first week of January so at least I have a couple weeks to chill. This last week was my big holiday break and I had a ton of adventures with stupidshepherd! However, now that they are gone to visit their parents for the holidays, it's time for me to get back to work.
My comic is my main priority and I'll be starting up on it this week coloring the next page then starting on the next set of buffer pages. I'm going to try to do a little extra because my next quarter is expected to be HELLA busy so... we will see how that works out. I also will be doing misc projects like a raffle prize leftover, some YCHs, illustrations I've had in the works, and convention prep for next year.
I have a good handful of things to submit on here and I'm going to try to routinely submit more when I can! I'm also going to start advertising for my Streams here. I was avoiding it for awhile because my fanbase on deviantART is mostly SFW and I've had some issues with people from FA going into streams and talking kinky in there and I do not accept that at all. Sorry, but not everyone wants to hear about your fetishes, and I know for sure my usual audience who attends my streams are not into that. I'm perfectly fine with it, but not everyone is and I wanna make sure everyone is comfortable when they're in my streams!

Now, since I am SO PAINFULLY SLOW at updating my journals on here, I'm going to go ahead and list out my goals for 2017!
• Finish The Selection prologue by end of January if possible.
• POST MORE ON HERE and all my sites. Minimum once a week but I'd like twice a week at least. I miss uploading more frequently!
• Try to expand my audience by updating all social medias and commenting more. I miss that too!
• Get more serious about my webcomic, my art, and my career. Even if it's scary and intimidating.
• Don't die in school. You can do this. Comic like the wind.
• MOAR AAARRRT.

HURRICANE SHENANIGANS

So Hurricane Matthew rolled around and I got caught up in it all. Long story short, stupidshepherd and I evacuated to Atlanta for the storm then left for Florida since our college cancelled all classes for the week and half the city was out of power, underwater, or covered in tree corpses. Lots of driving. Lots of frustration. Two sad kitties. Etc.
BUT we are both back in the apartment now over a week later and things are finally falling back to normalcy. I can get back to work now!
So yes, that was an adventure. A very... frustrating adventure. But least it'll be memorable! (And we got to check out Atlanta before FWA next year so that's something).
Anyone else have to deal with this too? Hope things went well for you!

It's been a good 3 months since my last journal so I figured I would update. There's nothing real big or exciting happening. I'm on vacation from school and have been doing a mixture of relaxing and trying to get some goals done. Most of them involve writing and comicing. Things have been pretty okay!
I will be closing commissions at the beginning of August. I will be holding some sales exclusive to my deviantART account during next month instead as I need to rustle up some CORE membership over there before I run out. Otherwise I'm going to be sticking to YCH's, adoptables, and specials for the remainder of the year. Just a heads up!
Hopefully I'll have some more things posted next month. This month hasn't been too active in the drawing department, not that I've ever been particularly active in constantly posting, but I really want to! I'd like to pump out more things for you guys but I'm just an insanely slow artist for some odd reason. When I don't have the pressure of commissions or school (where there is a strict deadline) I tend to lolly-gag around on personal projects. I do more brain-world building and story conceptualizing than I do drawing. Which isn't a bad thing buuuuut you know how it goes!

It's been a good 3 months since my last journal so I figured I would update. There's nothing real big or exciting happening. Are you Proud to be FURRY?
Posted 9 years agoI was thinking about this today and it got me questioning.
I don't know if it's just from personal experience, but I don't like most furries I meet in real life and it honestly makes me ashamed to admit publicly I am associated with them. A girl in my class this morning was wearing a tail (of what I don't know, but it looked like a dragon or Pokemon). She's a rather annoying person who constantly interrupts the professor to add in her 2-cents or to say something she thinks is relevant but it actually isn't. Then she'll laugh extremely loudly and get overly dramatic and it's just all-around annoying to me. Then another girl in a different class isn't too bad but she constantly talks about being furry in a manner that borders on one of those "I'm Furry and proud so fuck you" mentalities, which is equally annoying and stupid. Then I've met some furries at cons who are clingy and just a little bit weird in terms of not having good social behavior (like following us around when they weren't invited, telling us way-too-personal information, asking us for our info when straight-up we only talked to this person maybe 15 minutes ago). Honestly if I have met any furries in person that weren't annoying I can barely remember them. I can think of 2 off the top of my head, one was okay but stalked me and my furry friends around a comic con because they wanted to ask about their fursuits (but literally they stalked us across, like, 3 parking lots which is creepy as hell), and a guy here at my school who I have no real complaints about except he was just kind of a passive jerk in personality, but you can't be perfect.
So in comes my friends who talk bad about furries because they, too, are all too aware of all of the above or they are ignorant to the fandom and just know of furries as "perverts who do it in suits".
In these situations I frankly don't know what to say. Furries can be pretty damn weird, what with the massive supply of porn and fetishes in our artwork and how some fursuiters can only be described as "childish" or "creepy" in how they behave in-suit. But all fandoms are that way. In fact I doubt there's any fandom out there that isn't wrought with porn, fetishes, and creepy/immature cosplayers. And I feel the fandom has a ton of positives to counteract these negatives. Furries can be some genuinely sweet and generous people, and creative to boot.
Yet every time I awkwardly respond "hehe, well..." when they diss on furries instead of defending them. Or, if I do defend them, it's very casual or lackluster because it's fighting a losing battle. And I always feel guilty about it.
I don't like to be called Furry and I don't tell people I'm in the "Furry Fandom" because I honestly feel like I'm not. I mingle with furries, I draw furries, but I don't feel immersed into the fandom in terms of communicating with social groups, going to meets, going to cons, and plastering such things everywhere. I just feel like someone who likes anthros a hella lot as a concept in my art, and I greatly enjoy seeing furry artwork over anything else. I don't think there is a list of requirements for being a Furry or being in the fandom: I think it comes down to what you believe you are, and I just don't believe I am.
However, just because I'm not labelled as it myself, I still feel bad for not associating with the name because I feel like a hypocrite. I can't sit there and half-ass disagree with someone's salt against the fandom then turn around and draw my sona, or go to a con with my friends as their fursuit handler, or have aspirations to one-day try to suit myself. It's like turning your back on a community you are fond of but only in-the-closet so to speak. But I guess sometimes I do feel ashamed because so many furries I know in person are.... ridiculously annoying?
It's weird. I have been following the furry fandom since 2004, so that's 12 years and running. I went through a couple-year period somewhere around 2008 where I was very anti-furry thanks to the influence of a friend ("I'm anthro not furry!! BLAARG!!") but that's since gone and died. As quirky as the furry fandom is, I really do love it and I don't see myself ever abandoning it. But I still don't want to be labelled Furry and I don't know if I ever will be. Labels are not something I find myself enjoying anymore. Is this good? Bad? I really don't know. I feel stuck in a really weird limbo on how to feel about my place within it. It doesn't help my situation when I have no good experiences with it in real life (online is pretty awesome, though). Can someone just be an online furry and not a real-like, lifestyle furry? I guess the questions are about as limitless as the answers.
So how about you guys? Are you proud to be called a Furry? Do you tell people outside of the internet about your interests, including ones not also into the fandom? And how do you personally feel about the fandom?

Posted 10 years agoGreetings! Nothing much to report here. Working hard at school shenanigans and trying to squeeze in some personal art and commission in-between. I would really love to get commissions more formally open again, and while they always are, I think I'm going to be sticking to more "specials" and YCH type pieces for a bit as those are the most fun for me since I don't have to stress as much over perfecting poses and whatnot. Especially when I'm busy and already pre-stressed.
Still hoping to get back onto the comic train soon too, but ahhh when is there TIME?

It's hard for me to pick a favorite for myself, as I love all my characters and tend to fluctuate on which is my favorite.
Currently my favorite is Picard, but by unpopular vote it's his human version not his anthro version.
The reason for which mostly just boils down to the fact I've been writing about him the last 3 years so I got more attached to him.
While humans are not my personal favorite, I find a lot of enjoyment drawing them because they still feel so new to me. His anthro version, though I LOVE to see others draw, is hit or miss with me because I draw Ambivians all the time in my comic and... eh. You know how it goes. I rather see art from others with him than myself!
Though, I also have a long-time favorite which is Garin, who will always mean a lot to me, even though I don't ever draw him much.
His reason is also due to being from a story I have been writing the past 10 years! Yikes.

LAST JOURNAL of the Year!
Posted 10 years agoI don't really have much to say, I just wanted to post up one more journal for 2015!
I hope everyone had an awesome holiday season and have many positives heading into 2016. This year was rough for a lot of folks and I wish the best to anyone who suffered at all this year. I believe in you and hope next year is much, much better!
I don't have much to complain about this year; it all generally went pretty well. I illustrated 2 children's books for a client and therefore have 2 "published" books out there to slap on a resume. I started a new degree in Sequential Arts at SCAD and am absolutely loving it. I got to experience what it's like to move out of my parents house and live on my own (well, cept I'm not alone as I'm with stupidshepherd but sssh!), and it's not nearly as bad as I thought. Learned a lot about some friends of mine, good things and bad. I have been working to rid myself of negative things and people to be happier and less angry. It's a slow process, but it's getting there.
2015 felt like it lasted forever, which I honestly like. I hope 2016 lasts as long; so long as the lasting isn't a bad thing! I just hate having time fly by so fast!
I don't know what to expect going into the new year but I hope it's at least as nice as 2015 was for me!
As for some goals for 2016, I only have a few generic ones:
• Focus on school: keep learning, get good grades, don't stress out
• Work on my comic The Selection whenever I get the chance, but don't stress out if I miss an update
• Start work on the new collab comic!
• DRAW MORE THINGS! ALL THE THINGS!

Raffle Votes and Comic INSANITY
Posted 10 years agoVery quick update again! I'll keep it short and sweet as I usually try to!
Firstly, please check out the contest over at
halloweenfurs! It may have ended but voting has begun! Please check out all the magnificent entries! It was so hard for me to vote because they are all so great! You even get entered into a raffle if you vote! stupidshepherd and myself entered (016 and 025 respectively), but don't feel like you have to vote for us or anything! Just vote for whoever you think fits the rules best because that's what matters! The Cute Category has so many adooorable pieces, and Scary plenty of spoopy ones! It was a really fun contest and I hope they hold one again next year!
Secondly, commission status. Our Trick or Treat YCH has ended and we'll be working on finishing that up by Halloween! As for Nudie Foodies, we are going to temporary CLOSE them until the school quarter ends because we suddenly got swamped with work and we don't want people to wait! We will open them up again in the future, maybe for a limited time as a "get one before they disappear for longer" type of deal, which was what we wanted to do originally. But right now we just don't have the time!
One big reason for such is that my quarter has been INSANE lately with the workload. I have been drawing comics at an insane speed for class and I barely have time to breath before the next one is assigned. It's been a lot of fun but an intense strain, especially when you have to whip them out in 2 days or a weekend at longest, and it finally had started to catch up to me. I will be posting some up in the next week or so if I can! So look out for those when they happen! They are full of ridiculous puns. About goats. Mmmm.

You even get entered into a raffle if you vote! stupidshepherd and myself entered (016 and 025 respectively), but don't feel like you have to vote for us or anything! Just vote for whoever you think fits the rules best because that's what matters! The Cute Category has so many adooorable pieces, and Scary plenty of spoopy ones! It was a really fun contest and I hope they hold one again next year! Secondly, commission status. Our Trick or Treat YCH has ended and we'll be working on finishing that up by Halloween! As for Nudie Foodies, we are going to temporary CLOSE them until the school quarter ends because we suddenly got swamped with work and we don't want people to wait! We will open them up again in the future, maybe for a limited time as a "get one before they disappear for longer" type of deal, which was what we wanted to do originally. But right now we just don't have the time!
One big reason for such is that my quarter has been INSANE lately with the workload. I have been drawing comics at an insane speed for class and I barely have time to breath before the next one is assigned. It's been a lot of fun but an intense strain, especially when you have to whip them out in 2 days or a weekend at longest, and it finally had started to catch up to me. I will be posting some up in the next week or so if I can! So look out for those when they happen! They are full of ridiculous puns. About goats. Mmmm.

This is MADNESS!
Posted 10 years agoI haven't updated a journal here since the end of our summer trip! WHAT A DISASTER!
Not really much to update on, but figured it wouldn't hurt. I'm busy with school things as of late primarily. My classes this time, while manageable, are really heavy in the homework department. I'm enjoying the projects at least, and will continue to post some up every now and again.
Comic stuff is going very slow as a result of said schoolings. I, surprisingly, have a lot of motivation to want to work on pages but just don't have the time! So we'll see how well I can balance that out until break. One day I'll get that buffer done. One day.
For commission status, my regular ones are still closed and likely will be for awhile. I have been debating opening up my Creep or Cute/Monster commissions as a special for Halloween, but I really can't see myself having the time for it. So that'll be a tentative "maybe". Nudie Foodies are up and are going very well so far! They are fun and easy to do, so that's fantastic! Thanks to everyone who ordered so far! <3
stupidshepherd and I WILL be opening another Halloween Group YCH very soon; aiming for sometime in the next week. We have the idea, just need to sketch it out! So if anyone is interested in partaking in that, keep an eye out!

END of ADVENTURE
Posted 10 years agoFinally arrived back home for summer since college let out. I have only been back a day and 2 nights and already miss stupidshepherd a buttload. How will we last the next 2 months without our ridiculous shenanigans?? ;n; Such horror!
We had a fantastic time on our trip, though. Disney was a load of fun this time! Even if it rained really crazy during our Magic Kingdom adventures which turned out to be a massive blessing in disguise because it drenched away both the hotness and the moms with their stroller-weapons. A big peeve of mine is I hate getting wet, but I had a poncho and a hat so I stayed relatively dry and warm! Only my shoes got soaked but it made them oddly more comfy. I never would have thought rainy days at Disney would be better days than when it's dry!
The only real downside to the trip was I got terrible food poisoning the first night after eating at my favorite restaurant (such cruel irony). To say I want to avoid onion rings for awhile is an understatement... But I recovered after just a day of rest. Despite having to stay an extra day, it didn't set us back too badly and we got to enjoy everything! I saw quite a few things I hadn't seen last time. Like child environmental propaganda, giant creepy Ursula puppets, and Pooh Bear dying and having acid trips. Good times.
But I miss that Ellen animatronic. RIP :c
Overall it was a very rewarding experience. We both were planning this trip for something like 2 years now and seriously began to save up for it about a year or so ago. It was a long trek and we didn't know if we were going to make it or not, but we did it!
I do want to thank everyone for purchasing slots in our YCHs the past year! You gave us a fantastic vacation we will never forget. We have several new YCH ideas we would like to do, so if anyone is interested keep an eye out!
As far as additional things, I'll be updating my commission sheet in the near future and trying to open those back up. I also would like to finish some character references I started and some pieces from school. Who knows what else! I have a massive list so let's see how well I can do at hacking that away.

Concerning CHARACTERS and SHENANIGANS
Posted 10 years agoFirst and foremost: I'm totally not leaving FA because I simply just don't care enough about the drama. I'm kinda a terrible person in that aspect... Maybe because I've dealt with so much drama on updates at deviantART that I stopped giving a damn. I only stay here for you lovely people! Because you're 2 Radical and I love you! <3
But that aside, just some updates. I recently moved in with stupidshepherd for college and everything is fine and dandy! I started my first day of the new quarter today, albeit it was only a math class, and riding the school's buses isn't so bad after all. The city feels a lot bigger then it actually is, I think. But I didn't get lost and die in a muddy ditch so this is a success! The same cannot be said for my favorite shoes...
I finished a large client project recently and I'd like to start up commissions again but I want to wait until a few things are cleared up before that happens. In the mean time, you may see more YCH collabs by stupidshepherd and myself but that's about it for awhile until I can adjust to this new schedule and get some of my personal projects done.
I'd also like to take this time just to state something about certain characters of mine. A lot of folks here know about my representation George and character Linda, amongst some others. At current I am officially putting the characters as they are in "storage" so to speak. The reasons for this is extensive but I'll lay it out simply: the species is not mine and due to certain events I no longer wish to be associated with them. The reasons are not pretty and I'd be lying if I said I didn't harbor hard feelings about it, as I truly loved Linda, George, and the universe they encompassed. But the feelings have been expressed to the species creator as well and in that way the feelings are not completely in the dumps, even if the mood is not particularly positive.
In exchange, the species the characters are at current will be changed entirely with the intent to keep the characters and likeness in tact. They won't be entirely like they are at current in order to break away and not be lame rip-offs, but a couple vague homages will be included. I'm just honestly tired of attempting to develop a species that is not, and never was, mine and do not want my efforts to go in vain any longer. The only way to do this is by making the species original to begin with.
So basically I just want to make it clear that the characters are no longer active. I won't be mass-deleting any of my artwork associated with the characters and I'll keep their refs on my profile until I can replace them, but the characters will, sadly and regrettably, no longer be in use and if mentioning of them in any way would cease I would be very appreciative. This also includes anyone who may want to draw gift art or participate in trades with me. Please avoid drawing them should this arise.
I am not entirely popular here or anything, but since those characters in particular were favored I want to make it publicly known just in case.
