My goal here was to make my art more accessibly priced given the economy shitting the bed here in the US but still within some sort of reason for my time.

Full transparency, what kind of price points do you expect your comms/YCHs to be?
Obviously, here in the US the economy is S-tier trash and people don't have disposable income-- so I don't expect to have my prices as high as they were to be honest. So what is the new normal?

Be honest-- what are you guys willing to spend (comfortably, don't put yourself in a bad situation- I DO care about you) on art?

Love y'all and want to make art that you'll actually like at a price that is fair and not going to destroy your monthly bills, ya'know?

I've been wanting to get more art exposure through Discord but being the uhhh old fart I am, I'm not sure where to even start!

Heyyo, just poping in to let yall know commissions are on hold a little longer as a bit of the equipment in my computer was damaged during transport so I'm having to send the whole cooling system back for warranty replacement. I'll keep y'all updated when I catch word of when it's supposed to come back in. <3

I think I want to do a batch of bust or half-body size comms where I pair your characters with a type of flower or plant.

Like, send me a ref and maybe a description of your character's personality, and I'll choose a flower or plant that suits your character and draw them with it and a matching background. I think it'd be fun to use my past self's florist knowledge in my art~

What do you think this kind of art would be worth? Would $20 for full color be too low? $30 too high? Please chime in!

Keep in mind, my style has changed a tiny bit (now that I have a better set of brushes and learned some things) and I now have to include taxes because Paypal decided to be a douche.

We did it fam!
I saved up enough that I was able to convince the vet's office to offer me a payment plan with a down payment!
I'll pay the $1700 that I've saved up when I take her in and then $200 a month for 6 months (so don't be afraid to ask if you're thinking about getting a commission!), but she's finally gonna get her baby bladder taken care of! ;_;
Her surgery is this Thursday at 8am so I'll have to keep her in the hall bathroom with a litter box and only water (no food after midnight) tomorrow night. Anyone who reads this, keep us in your thoughts! I'll post an update once she comes home.

Made the decision to drop commission prices by about $5 all around for the most part because I realized I had them too high for the length of time it takes me. But also because we are still in dire need of assistance to get Clara's bladder stone removal surgery-- she's starting to refuse her current meds (another round of Chloramphenicol, some anti-spatztics, and some pain meds) and showing more signs of being tender/in pain. It breaks my heart and I really want to make her feel better. T_T

While I haven't been posting, I've been setting up my Picarto/ Streamlabs OBS to look and feel more professional and now that it's ready, I'm hoping I can get some art moving and get better exposure. I'm also getting ready to launch a set of YCH's and maybe try out a Pay What You Want scenario. In any case, I need money, and I need money fast for my daughter. Sorry in advance for the wall of text and for lack of overall cohesion. This is what I wrote in my discord art group's vent channel.

Clara has had recurring bladder stones since 2016 and has to go in for her 3rd surgery very soon. The time between her first and second surgery was 2 years. The time between her second and this current surgery will be less than a year.
She's been on Royal Canin Urinary SO since the first surgery and at least between the second and soon-to-be-third surgery, she will have been on Urinary SO exclusively with wet food once a week along with the other 3 cats in the house. No treats outside of the SO treats, no tuna/chicken juice, nothin
Their water bowls are filled with Brita-filtered water instead of tap water and the water fountain in the kitchen's filter is changed monthly.
Clara is extremely smart and human-interactive- she knows how to communicate exactly what she means and she understands human words and gestures to an extent.

She comes when called, she will follow/show you what she wants when asked, and she knows what to do to get your attention is she is in trouble.
I am terrified to have her go though yet another surgery and potentially have to go through another dose of Chloramphenicol to kill off the UTI that keeps coming back from/causing the stones.
It's the feline version of MRSA, MRSP, and there are only 3 antibiotics that kill it. Two of which are injectables and have a much higher chance of causing kidney damage (which if you know cats is a major issue-- cats are highly highly susceptible to kidney failure) and the third is Chloramphenicol.

Chlor. isnt made in cat doses, my vet had to write me a special prescrip. through a human pharmacy to have it made as a liquid in a dose safe enough for cats. It smells like smoke and barley and the drooling that is causes makes me worried she'll choke. I have to wear medical gloves while administering it because it can be caustic for some humans (a type of allergy if I understood correctly) and if I get it in a wound (no t an uncommon risk for me as I regularly pick at my nails and cuticles until they bleed) apparently it could cause aplastic anemia which has been known to lead to leukemia...
This time, the vet wants to do not only another urine culture, she wants to do a stone and bladder wall culture as well. She's going to get the stones removed and have her bladder washed out again, sewn back up, again, scarred. Again. On her tiny bladder. She's 9 years old.
The stone removal alone will be 35-4000 dollars.
not including the three other appointments and urinalyses weve done just this one infection...
the surgery alone is 3x my mortgage
I'll be signing up for a Care Credit card to pay for these appointments from now on (will probably have to put her food on there too? I dont know.)
This card has a promotional APR of 17.90% for 60 months but a standard APR of 26.99%
If you dont know about that sort of financial thing: this is going to be a very risky move on my part. This card is preditorial in nature.
Im scared.
Im tired.
But most of all I want my baby to be healthy again.
