Commission Prices Lowering
Posted 13 years agoIF INTERESTED IN A COMMISSION PLEASE CONTACT ME ON MY NEW ACCOUNT, FAETOUCHED
So, due to no employment and service charges for merely having a bank account, I am literally in the negatives right now, so I really, REALLY need commissions right now. Ponies work best because I can do them faster, thus get more done in less time and take more commissions, which I desperately need right now. However, since I don't seem to be getting any commissions at the moment, probably due to no one else really having money to spend either, I'm lowering the price. As of right now, into the forseeable future, the pony commission prices are halved. So:
Trotters:$2.50 USD ea.
Dashers:$2.50 USD ea.
Flappers:$2.50 USD ea.
Riders:$5.00 USD ea.
Gryphon Trotters$2.50 USD ea.
Bat Flappers: $2.50 USD ea.
Regular drawing commission prices are staying the same. If you've ever wanted one of the trotters, dashers, flappers and whatnot, PLEASE commission one now! Payments are to be made to themuffinknight[at]hotmail.com on paypal, I'll tell you when it's ready to be posted, you send payment and then I post it right after confirming payment, so it gets done quickly and everyone's happy. It'd really help me out for someone to commission me, as my blog (www.faeriefails.blogspot.com) hasn't generated enough revenue for them to actually send me anything yet, and as I haven't been able to find a job I have literally no other source of income.

DevArt Name Change
Posted 13 years agoSo, Deviantart allows you to change usernames now (only once per six months, though, and premium account only) and, since my fursona isn't a mink anymore (and never really was, come to think of it-I could never get it to look right) my username over there is now ChangelingScribe-Changeling because both of my deep love of the fae and fairy tales of that sort-stories about the old ways-and Scribe because I have acted as scribe/archivist for my gaming group for a while now, and I am sort of acting as one with my blog as well, posting barely known stories-or forgotten versions of well known ones. So, I think it fits overall. :D
[EDIT] Also changing my username here to Faetouched (which is what I should have called my DevArt account, but I didn't know the name was free, so...meh, I wrote a journal over there about what I'll be doing about that.) so I'll be slowly moving my account over, if you're a buddy o' mine don't forget to watch me there!

You will die laughing!
Posted 13 years agoFor those of you who have never heard of the series, Shades of Gray and it's sequels are actually a trilogy of erotic novels that started, I kid you not, as Twilight-based fanfiction. Sounds like something straight from the bowels of the ninth layer of hell, right? Well, on it's own, it generally is from what I've heard of it-but there is one thing that not only makes it survivable, but downright freaking GLORIOUS.
A lot of celebrities have done celebrity readings of the book-including Ellen DeGeneres and other notables-but none, NONE, come close to the incredible glory that is erotic fiction read by none other than Gilbert Gottfried. Yes, you read that right. The voice of Iago the parrot, the roach dude from Thumbelina, and any character that needs a loud, biting voice-reading erotic fiction.
I just about choked and died laughing so hard at the youtube video with just a taste of the reading!

Tablet maybe?
Posted 13 years agoSo, the ever awesome Jenetikitty linked me to a website with some super cheap tablets, which is SO AWESOME, and they're pretty affordable. I'm hoping to get the 8x6 one, if not a larger size, though one of the smaller ones would be cheaper and all they'd probably be a bit tricky to work with the sort of stuff I draw with the tablet, so yeah. However, I don't want to use the entirety of what's left of my bank account, so if anybody has been wanting trotters and hasn't commissioned one yet, now would be a great time to do it so I can keep a relatively stable bank account since I have literally no other income right now (besides the pennies from my blog Faerie Fails (http://faeriefails.blogspot.com) ) since I haven't been able to find work. So if anybody has been wanting one, please go ahead and get one, and I'll get them done as quickly as possible for you!
GAAAH GOD WHY
Posted 13 years agoSo. I just bought a refurbished drawing tablet so I could draw again and take commissions, which was all like WOOT! But no, for something in my life to go right for once? Well, this must be remedied!
So, it works for all of one drawing and then the pen decides FUCK YOU and stops responding to the tablet. The tablet light comes on, and the computer driver manager shows it's working fine, but the pen won't work, which kind of sucks since that's one of the most important parts and all. I try changing the battery, hard restart, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers-nothing. Bum pen. I try to get in contact with Genius and heyyyy, the contact us link on their page? Click on it and what does it do? Oh, that's right, a big fat lot of nothing! No telling you the email, or a phone number, or anything useful-nope, it does absolutely nothing. Not even a redirect.
I spent quite a chunk of money on this tablet, hoping I'd be able to take commissions to earn that money back on it and some extra because I really freaking need money right now, what with the unemployment and not being able to afford clothes or anything else I need and all, but nope, screw you, the 'like new' tablet pen doesn't want to work and the company clearly doesn't want to hear about their stuff not functioning.
I am really, really not happy right now. I finally located a number for one of their branches in LA, which I can't call until tomorrow, but if this doesn't get fixed I don't know what to do. I can't afford a new tablet, I don't have the money for it, but I really need this in order to have ANY kind of income at the moment, until I find a job.

Commissions
Posted 13 years agoSince I finally have a laptop and a copy of photoshop again, commissions are once again open! Whoo!
However, not everyone is into ponies or has a pony version of themselves or their fursona. In that case, I would like to direct you guys to the awesome MrsRed here on FA, who is taking commissions for some adorable little icons! They're five bucks each, same as what I charge for the trotters, and are cuuuuute!
So if you need an icon that isn't a pony, go check her out! http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7887857/
If you want one of my ponies or bats, please drop me a line!

Posted 13 years agoSo. Home Depot are dicks.
Well, more accurately, California legislation makes them have to be dicks.
See, there's this law that has a yearly hiring quota for big box retailers like them, pretty much demanding that they constantly be hiring people. Since once hired, people tend to stick around and, y'know, not be sucked into the void, this means that there is a vast surplus of employees. So what do they do?
Hire you, keep you about thirty days, then 'terminate' your employment. What they did with me was switch me to temporary employment rather than full or part time, so at the end of thirty days I was out the door. This is evidently what they do most of the time-they hire a bunch of people all at once, keep them for thirty days so they're on the record enough to satisfy the legislation, then fire them all, maybe keeping one or two if they actually have an opening for them.
So, I'm unemployed again. Gah. Looking for work again, but I'll be taking commissions (once I get photoshop set up) again, and I'll be trying to make plushies and knit things to sell on my etsy, and perhaps writing a book. I know who the characters are, I just don't know what they should DO. Bargle.
In lighter news I had enough saved up to get myself a laptop. It's nice and sleek and new and it's PURPLE!! Like, Twilight Sparkle purple! GYEEE!!!!
*cough* I'm okay.

WOOHOO!
Posted 13 years agoIgotajobIgotajobIgotajob! :D
I am now officially employed. :3 I'm now a cashier at Home Depot, so I get to work in jeans and a comfy shirt (not t-shirts but that's about the limit of the enforced dress code) and have the apron as pretty much my only requirement. Since I have open hours, I'll probably be getting at LEAST full time. So, yay! Now I just need to look into getting a car so I can get there on my own, instead of making my poor boyfriend have to get up early to drive me there. (He's NOT a morning person XD)
So...yayness!

Trotters
Posted 13 years agoI didn't want to have to do this, but thanks to Zack, who I'm still staying with until I get reasonable income, I do have computer access and he even let me put photoshop on here, so without a scanner/tablet I can't do my normal artwork, but I can make trotters-and though I didn't want to do this out of respect for Jenetikitty, who taught me how to make them, she already told me she didn't mind quite a while back, and I really need money just for warm clothes and such that I currently lack, what with having left pretty much everything I owned behind and having to start over-so, I'm taking commissions for the trotters!
As anyone who watches me on deviantart probably knows already, I'm asking about five dollars for each, no I won't do art trades right now, I won't be able to get shoes or buy food with a picture, so I need actual money. I prefer payment in advance since I have been screwed over before. Trotters don't take me long to make, so you'll probably have one within the day that you order it. It'd be a huge help, my current goal is to get twenty of them, which'd be a hundred dollars right there, so I can start rebuilding. Thanks everyone!

Fuck it, I'm gone.
Posted 14 years agoSo. Pretty much guaranteed I'm going to be on the street now.
Mom got angry at me because I told her I don't want to make a pumpkin cheesecake for thanksgiving after she told my sister I would, without asking me mind you, and told me if I was going to be that much of a bitch that I could get out. This led to an argument, mostly based on the fact that she told me I'm not allowed to make things to take to my massage therapy class anymore (I made a pumpkin cheesecake and gluten and dairy free pumpkin spice cake with maple glaze to take to class) and I told her that not only did I not really want to make the cheesecake, but if I wasn't allowed to bake for my friends anymore, I wasn't going to be making treats for her and my sister, particularly when they were demanding it rather than asking. It sort've escalated from there, and I've pretty much got to be getting out, like, now. Now now. So, if I vanish and I'm not responding to comments or posting anything for a long time-well, you know why now. So, hopefully I'll be able to find a place and be working and on soon, so...yeah. If I don't come back because I can't reach a computer or I'm dead in a ditch somewhere, then I love you all, thanks for all the fun we've had.
Even if she suddenly wanted me to stay or something again, I can't take it anymore. The constant fighting, the fear, the threats, all of it-I can't. It's been piled on my whole life and I just want it to stop. The stupidest things lead to threats and fights with her, and I just can't handle it anymore. So even if she relented and would let me stay, I'm still going. I can't take it anymore.
Hopefully I'll be able to be on again soonish-if not, then, here's to the memories.

Posted 14 years agoKinda upset right now....
My mom had this big aviary full of birds of all kinds-mostly parakeets and cockatiels, with my dove that I've had for years and a big fat pidgeon we were given as well. Last night after some relatively warm weather we had a sudden freeze that we were completely unprepared for, and all our birds were killed but three-the big fat pidgeon, my dove, and a single parakeet. The parakeet only survived because my dove, who has babied that little blue parakeet all his life, held him underneath her wing all night and kept him warm with her own body heat, staying on the bottom of the cage instead of flying up to where she and the pidgeon normally roost, where it was warmer. I'm guessing the parakeet was too weak from cold to fly up with her and stay there instead. Anyway, the ground is not a normal place for her. The parakeet and pidgeon are completely fine, but Snowy (her full name is Snowfeather) is still very weak, still breathing but not moving around much. We don't know if she's going to make it. She and the parakeet are inside now, under a heat lamp, hopefully the warmth will revive her. She shows signs of life and opens her eyes when the parakeet starts preening her, climbing on her or snuggling under her wing. I hope she'll be okay. ;_;
[Edit]She didn't make it-I went to check on them and she had stopped breathing and was lying stiff, with the parakeet sitting next to her preening her headfeathers. If she'd just stayed up with the pidgeon she'd have been fine, but she chose to protect the parakeet instead.

O.O;
Posted 14 years agoSo, my mom and I had been getting ready for me to start my massage therapy classes on the nineteenth, which is what pretty much all the information I'd been given had said. A few days ago I got my welcome letter, which informed me they'd be very happy to see me...
on the ninth. Not nineteenth. Ninth. And no it wasn't a typo, because the fourteenth is my first anatomy class with them.
Cue a mad scramble to get the rest of my supplies, figure out what time we need to leave every morning to get there on time until I find an apartment there (the drive is a few hours, so to be on time I have to be up about three or so am every morning-not that that's new for me), and all the apartments we've seen are either over a thousand a month or every review I can find for them talks about crime, druggies, muggings, car break-ins, fires and generally...not the kind of places I'd want to live. Oyy.
On top of that, I may have endemetriosis and may have to have a hysterectomy (my wacked-out hormone levels thanks to my screwed up thyroids could easily have caused this, which would explain the crippling pain in my abdomen-I do mean crippling, I was curled up with a heating pad crying in agony last night and unable to do anything about it- and severe bleeding, far more than what should be normal....like, FAR far more, and no I haven't been to a hospital yet and most likely won't be because of the cost), which will add even more medical bills on top of all the ones I already have for my thyroid and allergy problems. Joy unbridled.
