Posted 4 years agoThis journal is personal and made specifically to be linked under my personal artworks to offer an explanation to a common idea people seem to get from my artwork.
Note: I am not against "vore" all together, I simply don't like it.
TL;DR: this is not vore art, this is not fetish art, my intent as the author is the final say on the matter, do not dare to tell me otherwise.
"Vore" is by definition a "fetish" ("a sexual interest in an object or a part of the body other than the sexual organs" - Source: Cambridge dictionary); UrbanDictonary offers a proper explanation of the term "vore".
That being said, not every scenario with a character inside another character's mouth, ingestion, digestion and so on can be called "vore".
For example, would you label the inhaling ability of Kirby as "vore"?
What about all the levels inside the monster's gut in The Legend of Zelda and the Mario series?
Have you ever seen an episode from Tom & Jerry?
The answer is simple: a scenario by itself doesn't qualify as "vore",
context is key.
The "character eating another character" scenario is a common trope which can and is probably mostly used in non-fetish non-sexual works of fiction.
People are absolutely free to fantasize to themselves about whatever they want, even over a SFW creation, but this is not the creator's design;
this means you can use even the most innocent of images as a starting point for your own sexual fantasies, yet this does not make the image itself sexual in nature, nor that the creator of the image anticipated, shared or endorsed your fantasy or its themes.
Thus, calling someone's work "vore" just because it contains a "character eating another character" scenario is a rather brainless false assumption.
What do you need to tell if something is vore or not?
The intention of the author.
Just like a knife can be used as a useful tool or a dangerous weapon depending on the user's intention, whether or not a piece of content can be defined as fetish material depends on whether the author intends for it to be as such.
An author can even enjoy depicting or concentrate on a specific trope without it necessarily becoming a kink or a fetish.
This is why I am here to tell you that:
- this artwork is not vore.
- this artwork is not meant to be vore.
- this artwork is not fetish material.
- this artwork is not meant to be sexually explicit.
- this artwork is not meant to be sexually arousing.
That's all you need to know.
If you find this artwork to be erotically pleasing to you, sexually arousing or viable for fantasizing about any of your kinks, good for you;
I don't care. I do not need to know. I do not want to know.
I had to write this statement of intent because time and time again my artworks and me as a creator have been involved in varying degrees of confusion about this. For example I've had people trying to tell me what the themes of my own artwork were or all manners of creeps lusting after my characters in the comments.
You might argue that in the past I used the term "vore" to refer to some themes in my artworks: while definitely true, it was a mistake I made due to the long running confusion with the terminology related to these topics.
From its inception the term "vore" has expanded its meaning to several adjacent concepts far outside its original status as shorthand for "vorarephilia". Thus, "vore" has become an umbrella term which most online communities use with reckless abandon to label a large variety of content involving some variation of the "character inside another character" trope.
The issue with this use is that "vore" still maintains a strong sexual and fetish connotation from its origin. It is definitely not a neutral label and thus when applied generally to content outside its original semantic scope it brings with itself several additional connotations which may or may not reflect the author's intentions. Since sexuality and mature content are delicate and personal topics, a too liberal use of the term "vore" such as we see today ends up creating a kind of confusion which is at least a little annoying to the author and at most psychologically harmful.
Before I realized this I too was using the term incorrectly, believing it could be considered neutral enough to label my work.
Now I know it is not.
and I, sharing basically the same opinions on this matter, have been brainstorming for quite a long time now to find a new term to better refer to the use of the "character inside another character" trope in a non-sexual non-fetishized scenario, thus freeing us and all creators in similar positions from having to rely on the inadequate "vore" term.
So far we have not been successful in finding a good sounding term, but we are determined to keep looking.
I, for now, will use "containment" and "mouth-holding" as placeholders.
This hefty but necessary post has been jointly written by and I.

I need some time to empty my list and work on some personal projects which have been hanging around in my mind for a while.
(I am going to complete the couple of art trades I already accepted to do, don't worry!)
I though I'd be able to complete all the "small" orders one week ago, but health and study didn't help at all.
I don't think I'll re-open for May as I was originally planning, maybe some occasional sketches if I have some time to spare.
Standard comm will surely reopen in October after the summer exam session. ✨

I've done some in the past and people treated them like wares, selling them from one person to another.
It's not what my art is made for.

Posted 4 years agoSome days ago I somehow managed to hurt my eyes (probably over-working) and I had a terrible headache, I couldn't look at screens for a lot of time and most light sources were painful to watch.
I feel much much better now after some rest.
I still don't feel good and my exam is approaching me, so don't worry if I'll be silent for a while ^^'
Commissions, art trades and livestreams are postponed after April 8th (maybe later depending on how the exam goes, it's a written + oral test split in different days - Microbiology this time, one of my favorite subjects).

I will keep my art trades open and I will accept them when I have free time instead of announcing opening/closing everytime.
I do art trades to "escape" from my comfort zone (poses, species, shapes I usually don't draw).
They are first of all a personal study and a fun project.
Since sometimes I have recived requests which made me feel very uncomfortable, I decided to place a couple of rules:
1. Don't try to scam me.
Quite often people asked me for an art trade just to grab something from me for free, giving a 0 effort drawing in return.
Please don't do this. It's rude, it's disrespectful and deeply offensive towards me and the trust I give you.
For now I will not limit trades to same skill level artists, but this could change based on people's behaviour
2. It's an art trade, not a commission.
Since it's a fun project which I do in my free time, don't push me.
I won't do edits to the drawing which aren't my mistakes (like a change of mind of the other party/not liking the style).
I will text one time to tell you I have completed my part. I won't push you, take your time.
I'll show the picture when your part will be shown.
3.
Themes and subjects I draw:
- Dragons, any feral fantasy/real creatures, anthros, maybe humans.
(Note: I am not used to draw humans and I am still learning how to draw them properly.)
- Captivity, bridles, reins, harnesses & similar, BDSM, light gore (mainly blood), jewelry,
cuddles & love scenes, mawplay, interspecies interactions, size difference.
Maybe NSFW scenarios.
Themes and subjects I don't draw:
- Any kind of vore. I just don't like it.
- Scat or anything involving bodily waste, diapers, NSFW
imagery with underage or underage-looking characters.
- Unmeaningful sexual scenes.
- Sexual scenes between my characters and yours.
Any other theme not listed here may or may not be acceptable: ask beforehand!
4. Offering
From head to fullbody sketches, flat colored.

I recently uploaded some pretty big drawing files on my gallery (I started working on larger canvases), so they take some time to be downloaded when their page is opened.
Do you guys prefer smaller files with quick loading time, but they may be less detailed, or larger files which may take some time to load, but very neat?

Another year has passed, a tough one.
The pandemic made everything harder; despite that, I was able to improve a lot as a person and as an artist.
I changed so much and I am sincerely happy of who I am now, looking forward to what will come next!
I couldn't ask for a better gift.

Posted 5 years agoI’ve been through harsh times recently, which are bringing me to slowly realize what I really want to do with my life.
I started organizing my priorities and I noticed I wouldn't have much time left because of studies, health, physical exercise and personal projects.
These are especially important goals to me, as a person and as an artist always trying to improve.
That's why I officially announce I won't be focusing on commissions & art for others as I've been previously doing.
What does this mean in practical?
- Patreon won't have drawing-rewarded tiers anymore. I swapped them with a very cheap tier for people still interested in supporting FyreDraygg and I, gaining 1 month+ early access to drawings, exclusive WIP & artworks and full quality illustrations.

- I will rarely do commissions from now on. I will open occasional slots when I will feel ok with them, as I have already tested with the bust sketches, which I really liked working on!

About me personally:
- I will be focusing on producing better quality drawings, serious studies of human anathomy, dynamic poses and of course drawing my personal characters.
