I've noticed a bit of followers coming my way recently, so I figure it's time to catch up on my gallery. Normally I have been trying to span updating it over the course of like a few days but I'm not finding that's working well for me. So I'm just gonna spend some time today reviewing all the content that I've been putting off uploading and drop it here.

I noticed I had a big influx of new followers recently. Probably due to the whole drama going on over at Twitter.

It's been over a year since I last uploaded anything and I've had a chunk of commissions done, some that haven't really been publicly released (not for personal reasons, just the artist and I never uploaded them anywhere). Right now I'm on a vacation seeing my fiance but I'll be back on the 1st of Dec. Supposedly the 2nd will also have an upgrade to uploading so larger size pictures can be added so I'll probably wait till that happens, then start dumping about 5 pics a day to this account. I don't think I have a lot but I don't want to flood people's submissions with stuff in one go.

Guess it's now a good time to update this gallery (which I'll do later).

Does anyone have any specific ways they go about this? I've got some extra dough to spend and usually when it comes to commissions I tend to poke my friends. I figured I would give them a break though and try to find another artist that may be open, but TBH I rarely seek out art, I just sorta stumble upon it.

Do any of you have any methods you go through to find an open for commission artist?

Anyone have suggestions on a good artist for one or someone following me doing them? I know I can just search for them on the site but figure I'd try to snag a recommended person from someone following me, or snag one from someone already following me.

Made a last minute choice and I'll be there this year. Feel free to say hi to me, but if you do, expect me to be really confused that anyone is remotely interested in me.

I'm not turning them on myself, nor do I plan on using them. Personally I don't feel secure about FA enough to put my payment information into any system they've created that's linked to my FA account directly.

However I personally feel like this shinies thing is a lazy attempt at them trying to gain back some potential lost traffic. Twitter is becoming more and more popular as an art page for people to post their things onto, and I've even seen some artists using FA as a secondary site to just post their works several days/weeks later, or not even post everything they do (even finished products). It feels like to me rather than make an attempt at fleshing out normal features and getting FA up to standards with every other website out there, they're trying to bait artists back into posting on here with a donation system so they can get back lost traffic.

Like there are so many other things about this site that could use an overhaul, but rather than make it pleasing to use, they just throw in some tool that basically makes them look like they care about artists to try and potentially sucker people back over here to get more submissions added.

This is frankly just my 2c on it though. I really have no issue with the idea of FA adding in a donation system to help out artists, but given their security issues in the past and the lack of any real updates this site gets with functionality (how long has the re-design been in beta now?); I feel like the site admins prefer to drag their feet on releasing features and actually making changes until they end up realizing death crawling up on them.

Not sure what happened but I just suddenly got a flood of new watchers, which doesn't even happen when I upload stuff myself. Did something of mine get posted somewhere?

I normally don't click browse on this site to see the latest art. Often I usually just stumble upon artists by recommendation or other means. Only once have I gone out to find an artist for a specific type of commission but even I didn't search this site for them.

The past few days though I decided to hit the Browse button at the top of the page. The more I went through, the more depressing I felt like it was going through. Every page was just flooded with YCH's, adoptables, "commissions open" announcements. It felt less like trying to browse an art gallery and more like walking into a mall and seeing stores selling content you're not interested in. I kind of feel like this site could benefit from offering a "Artist store" type section where they could advertise all the stuff they were selling, but given FA's history for actually updating things I never see that happening.

Uploading the last pic, I noticed that FA added additional genders to their list. Which I thought was neat, but after thinking about it for a moment, I kind of wondered why they bothered at all.

Selecting the gender within the list while is a nice idea for pictures that feature a single character, but it sorta becomes useless when you use a pic with multiple characters. So you just end up having to select the multiple characters option anyway, which has no sub category or expanded category within that menu to add their genders, and you'd just end up putting their genders in the tags section of the pic.

I feel like it would've just better to spend time removing the categories they have and just tell people to tag their stuff (and introduce tag blocking), but it was still interesting to see.

Can be noted that I'll be out of the country and in Japan next week. Might hang out with a certain popular artist there (not going to name them to respect their privacy). I'll probably be taking a lot of pics and will post them on the spot to my normal Twitter account, but I might dump the entire batch into a Dropbox folder or something and post a link here if interested.

I had a thought yesterday and am curious if anyone is interested that follows me. I often have a short story that tends to go with some of the pictures that I get. Would anyone be interested if I include these with my submissions? By short I mean these are like 1 paragraph long so it gives some context into the picture and characters, but it's not so long that it overwhelms anyone.

So first I wanted to say I appreciate the comments, favs and watches people give me. It's a good feeling to know people enjoy my characters. I wanted to put some info up in case any might be curious about it.

Reposting my commissions: I don't care where you post it. Just credit the original artist at least. Also clearly just don't say it's your character when it's not. I appreciate letting people know it's my character in said pics but it's not required. I just enjoy seeing people spread art I get.

Commissions with my characters: this is an option if anyone might be interested. Al is a top though but is pretty much open to whomever for any gender. Devon is open to top or bottom. Andrea and Natalya are female preferred but I might be open to males depending on character and idea. Rita is female only. Lydia is SFW only for other people's characters.

Last time I posted one was a few months ago; figured I would post things to catch up.

Lately I have kind of been in a dark place. The past few months I've been very anti-social and sorta iced in. I have this big concern people are only keeping me around in their life to use me. It's honestly something I always have concerns of. When I was young, all the friends I had in my childhood only liked being around me cause I had tons of video games. They would often steal from me, so I've lost a large collection of games over time. After many years it's not been a big concern, but it has been excessively bad this month due to things going on. My mom has been basically needing massive amounts of help, trying to find a place to live and also get a new job. So I had to constantly help her fill out applications, find a place to stay and help her file unemployment. She's costed me quite a penny out of my own pocket, getting her rooms and what not so she wasn't on the street. It took a few weeks, but we finally net her a full time job. Right now she's staying at some cheap place where she can pay daily, but I want to find her something permanent still in the area.

Part of the reason I've also felt this way is I haven't been able to get any help with my own issues from people near me. I've been trying to get driving lessons and help with moving. I had one friend finally offer up lessons, but we only did an hours time a single day and then it fell apart due to busyness. I also kept trying to find someone to help me move, but no one would help, even though I was offering to pay for the help and supplies needed to move. But then every week, people at work, my mom and some of my friends would come to me with their problems like they wanted my help, or even flat out ask me for money. Some I know couldn't help me at the time due to distance, but like I said, it made me feel really shut in.

The good part of this all is I found a place to move to, which is very close to my current work. I'm moving this Saturday, rent will be cheaper for me too so I can save more money for future plans. I'm trying to save for a trip to Tokyo sometime next year. I looked up tickets and found they're not as expensive depending on when you go, so I might snag those when I get my tax return.

Back into the bad, I've unfortunately had to stop going to a counselor. I thought it was free given the clinic didn't tell me the cost of anything at the time. Turns out the insurance I had was 100% covering it. Since I've now switched though that's no longer the case. The visit for the person I was seeing wasn't worth it to me ($30 every visit, only 30 mins at a time, only twice a week) when I know there's much cheaper options out there that could probably do more. I might look into talking to one next month again, just right now I'm focused on packing and moving.

Probably the worst thing is a close friend of mine and I cut ties a while back. Eventually they reached back out to me and we were talking again for a short while, but it didn't last and we've split apart again. Whether it's permanent or not I don't know. I'm trying not to focus on it right now, but it isn't easy. I only wish them the best of luck at this point in their life.

Anyway, here's to 2018, hoping things settle down and I can finally take the long needed vacation I want.

I want to make one with that pattern. I'm not sure which species I want to use though. Zebra? White tiger? Snow leopard?
