RainFurrest 2014
Posted 11 years agoSo everything seemed to align just right with work, hotel reservation and all that. I'll be going to my home con again this year. Let me know if you will be there! I don't have specific plans for the con this year, I think I will keep it casual and just let things happen as they happen. =^..^= KittyGator out!

Pet owners need to be informed
Posted 13 years agoOk,
So I have been watching this story since last November.
http://vitals.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2.....ports-say?lite
Since November I've quit buying the Chicken Jerky treats for Hailey. She loved them but to me I was very uncertain if they were healthy for her or not. That was back in November. I see this story crop up with higher and higher death counts and I have to wonder what the deal is.
Hailey is in great health and I never suspected or have reason to believe otherwise.
My dog loves treats. My roommates love to feed her treats. I find myself scouring the ingredients seeing if something stands out as dangerous or questionable origin like Chinese meats. You can't really tell with most products.
Now days Hailey just gets raw hides or a big 'ol ham bone.
Any advice for healthy and natural dog treats?

RainFurrest 2010 Report =^..^=
Posted 15 years agoRainFurrest 2010
I have to say that my summer was not all that it was cracked up to be. Thankfully I returned to my second year of attending

Still is my favorite con now that I have 5 under my belt. I heard nothing but pure enjoyment of this convention from the other con goers. Some of whom are regular con goers to other conventions with this year being their first to attend RainFurrest. Big thanks to the con staff and volunteers for making this convention so excellent for everyone!
This guy makes me grin all day long.

Whenever I get to hang out with

As always, I look forward to watching

I’d like to give big hugs and shout outs to friends I got to hang out with and all the new friends I got to meet!
RainFurrest 2010 was really great this year and I am looking forward to 2011. Support your artists, hug your friends and long live the Furry Fandom!
Peace =^..^=
Summer starts off with a crack
Posted 15 years agoWhile camping during Memorial Day weekend, I managed to stress crack the fourth metatarsal bone in my foot!
June is a crazy fun month for me so I hope this crack doesn't hamper the opportunities.
Seattle trip with tons of new friends on the 18th - 21st
And my favorite meet at wild waves Saturday the 26th! http://bit.ly/bcNgu1
But you kinda need good working feet to do these things.

I filled out a survey: http://www.uafurvey.org/
Posted 15 years agoDo you think of yourself as a furry?:
yes
Why are you furry?:
I am furry because I enjoy anthropomorphic animals, stories and role play about anthropomorphic animals.
About how many of your friends are furry?:
Some
About many friends do you have?:
13
Does religion play a major part in your life?:
no
If you feel comfortable doing so, please discuss your religious beliefs.:
I wasn\'t raised in a family with very strong religious beliefs. I was free to pursue my own faith freely. After seeking faith in my younger years, none of which felt right, I live my life at this moment with out any particular feelings towards religion one way or the other. I would tend to say I am skeptical about most religions.
Do you expect to be a furry in five years?:
yes
Do you feel comfortable discussing your furryness with people who are not furs?:
yes
If not who are you uncomfortable talking about your furriness with?:
If you feel comfortable discussing it, why are you uncomfortable?:
If you have someone you think of as a best friend how did you meet that person?:
At this moment I don\'t consider anyone my best friend, that was something I had in my younger years. But to give an answer the last time I considered having a best friend I met them in childhood and grew up with them.
Would this person describe themselves as a furry?:
no
Would you describe this person as a furry?:
no
Do you have friends who you first met online?:
yes
Would you be as inclined to help them if they encountered life difficulties as you would an offline friend?:
I would tend to say I would be more inclined to help an online friend if they encountered life difficulties.
Do you often find that you help your friends, online or offline, with life issues/problems?:
Most of my leisure time is spent with other friends online. There fore I think I often help friends more online then offline.
Are they supportive when you are sad or down?:
Very much so.
If you've met your online friend(s) in person did meeting them affect your friendship?:
yes
If so in what way?:
Meeting someone that you\'ve met online in real life affects the friendship. Some people you get to know better offline and that solidifies the friendship more often then it diminishes it.
What is a furry anyway?:
Furry is diverse. The 10,000 foot view is a person who is a fan of anthropomorphic animals. They can express this in many ways. Often through role play online, art, music, writing and visual arts. Mainly it is any expression or involvement central around an anthropomorphic character or being.
Do you think that anyone who thinks of themselves as a furry is a furry?:
no
Why or why not?:
In any subculture that is open minded and accepting, as furry is, of anyone will encounter those who are naturally inclined to seek out people of that nature. Some are accepted, some are a nuisance.
Please describe the furry community as you perceive it.:
It is a global diverse group of individuals who are generally creative and appreciate others who are as well.
What is your favorite aspect of the furry community?:
The general acceptance by others that consider themselves furries. There is a inherent bond between furries that general society lacks. Real life can be described as competitive, a \"rat race\", or \"dog eat dog\". You won\'t find those elements very strongly in the furry community.
How did you feel about yourself before you joined the furry community?:
I felt out of place, just another tool in society. I was very hyper vigilant and an over achiever in order to feel some acceptance and self worth among my peers.
Did your feelings change after you joined the furry community?:
yes
If so how?:
I\'ve found that I don\'t have to compete to achieve social gains. If I am myself and allow myself to be caring and honest I don\'t have to worry about being taken advantage of.
Do you feel that being involved in the furry community helps when you encounter stressful life events?:
So far my experience with the furry community and stressful life events have been mutually exclusive. I can\'t answer this.
If so in what way?:
Have you ever been to a fur con?:
yes
Did your feelings about the furry community change after you attended?:
No
Did the way you feel about yourself change as a result of attending?:
Yes
How did you feel during the convention?:
Amazing. I experienced a true rush of pleasure being with others who feel the same way I do. I loved the fact that so many people from so many different and diverse backgrounds could meet and socialize with each other with out social pretense or attitude.
How did you feel when the convention ended?:
Anxious. It was the realization that I had to return to my real life and that I had to put back on the mask that society expects me to wear.
What do you remember most about your first convention?:
Getting to meet the people and characters that I have only seen online. It was outstanding.
yes

=^,^= One year on FurAffinity
Posted 16 years agoOne year on FurAffinity.
Hmm, what did I accomplish in 12 months time? Well I made some silly hats and made some silly friends! Oh, and the silly videos too! http://www.youtube.com/alleygatorswampboy
I have 3 cons under my belt. SakuraCon, AFF, RainFurrest.
In the next year ahead I hope to accomplish more silly creations and maybe even a fursuit.
I hope to meet more furs and if I'm lucky, I'll have some regular furiends that we can share life's ups and downs with. Y'know start making some memories =^,^= (Wouldn't want to be forgettable).
I want to see less broken <3'd / down trodden furries and more content, creative and successful folks in the coming year. I want to see more furries that contribute positively to the furry fandom and not just for the social networking aspects.
I know that there are those that are afraid to be creative out of the fear of sucking or ridicule but to that effect you must know this: "If every bird in the forest that sang best, sang. It would be a very quiet forest". ~ Unknown
I want to continue to find new inspirations in the fandom while keeping and encouraging my "already found" inspirations.
Fursonal Growth!

Posted 16 years agoParts of the convention was overwhelming at times. Both good and bad ways. I knew going into this con that I didn't have a solid plan of what I was going to do when there. This made me rely on others plans, and well that just didn't work out for me. I had a friend yell out "fuck Canada" while I was seated next to him and that got the stink eye from some Canadians <face paws>. Other friend was too much into his own edgyness and was self centered the whole time. Even got called "creepy" when I lost my cool with him (and I really shouldn't have), just move on either way.
But the good very much out weighs the bad. The elements of furry really was a joy to be around. The creativity and light hearted fun and frolic is just the best. I need to remember these things and remember why I wanted to be in the furry fandom not just observe. Next con I will party light and socialize hard. And also to remember just cause someone calls themselves a furry doesn't mean they have the same appreciation of the fandom as I do.
Note to self: Don't loose your way trying to fit in, you sacrifice your creativity and waste a whole lot of time.

10 Years late to the party
Posted 17 years agoFor better or worse this is where I want to be.
Better late then never.
Somehow I convinced myself sometime around a decade ago that I needed to be a serious person. Ya, OK. Mission accomplished. I put away the paper and I put down the pencils and ignored the fascination that motivated me to be creative.
As it turns out, having a good career took a lot of time and effort. My selfishness and determination pushed people out of my life. The potential to meet new friends was now residing in that negative space that I created for myself. Pushing harder still I filled my desires with the need to compete and succeed no matter how ugly it made me feel inside. This leads one to cope in unproductive ways. Nuff said there. With some corrective measures one can begin to focus on what is important or what was important. I look toward the future, to unlearn the false values. It won't be easy, as change never is, and patience will be needed. And it is in the spirit to get back to basics, and un-complicate the values that I begin again.
