Hello all.

I do admit I have been a pretty dreadful friend on here. Life does take over, so here is a update.

I finished my double degree over a year ago so for the last year I was building up my reputation in the schools in my area. I can say I am a very sought after substitute teacher, which I am doing part time while I complete my Honours thesis.

At least, I was. Oh, I'm still studying, but I'm good enough that I'm being offered teaching contracts (not applying, just offered to me!) I'm just about the start my second one next term that's for the rest if the year. I'm really excited, because what I'm teaching is actually really closely related to the topic of my thesis.

I'm still a nanny too. I don't get paid during the holidays and me and Leon's are saving for a house deposit and a belated honeymoon.

We recently celebrated our first year wedding anniversary. And we are still stupidly happy. (Though he doesn't see a lot of his overachiever wife - he cooks a lot 😘)

So yeah. Not dead, just really living.

I was friends with a married couple who were in an open relationship and it was one of the strongest, most loving relationships I have ever seen. It's because they built their relationship on trust and they were commited to eachother. RIP mate. You are so dearly missed.

I'm shaving my head completely on the 17th of March as part of the Leukaemia Foundation's Worlds Greatest Shave!

This a event where people sponsor me to shave or colour my hair and all the money goes to finding a cure for cancer. I wanted to raise as much money as possible so I opted to shave my head completely.

Cancer is common in my family. My Grandma died from breast cancer when I was very young. My Pa has recently been diagnosed with cancer. When 's Grandfather died from leukaemia, I thought it was time I did something to help.

I have long hair which is one of my best features (you'd expect it, being a ex-hairdresser's daughter). It hasn't been shorter than my shoulders since I was about 7. I figured that if I could give up something that is very important to me, people could give up their money to an extremely good cause.

I'm hoping to raise a $1000 and I hope you can help make that a reality!

There will be, of course, before and after photos and video!

1. Let’s start by introductions. What is your name, given or nickname? It's AllyCat but everyone calls me Ally.

2. Are you currently in a relationship? Mmmm hmm. A year since August.

4. How did you two meet? I was hanging out at the temporary zoo at AC08, when I kinda got chit chatting with everyone around the table (well, they chit chatted and I mostly listened lol).  leons1 was one of them. Much later on (way after AC was over) I was commenting on a pic that  FoxyTangerine drew (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1829207/) and saying how lovely it was. Then the goober came on to me and I was like "...uhh... who are you and wtf man?"

5. What was your first impression of them? Honestly, I was too shocked that someone was trying to pic me up over a pregnancy pic to take much notice! LOL!

6. Did that impression change any over time? Yes indeed. He turned out to be the sweetest, most wonderful man I have ever met. He was my clone and I found his gooberness endearing.

7. What made you fall for them? Well... I guess it developed. He was not only generous and kind but was very similar to me in personality. We were calling eachother clones before I started developing feelings for him. But what sold it for me was when he was willing to put his feelings for me aside because he treasured our friendship more.

8. Who asked out whom? I asked him out.

9. How did it happen? After finally coming to terms with the state of my heart (with lots of love and words from my family and  FoxyTangerine) I got him on AIM and asked him out. You have NO idea how nervous I was. I was shaking, terrified that I would lose a treasured friend. But it turned out AWESOME!

10. Are you two near each other (within 2 hrs apart) or is it a Long Distance Relationship? LOOOOONG Distance Relationship. He's in the States and I'm in Australia.

11. How do you keep contact? The internet is awesome when it isn't being a bitch, as is the mail system.

12. How far are you two away from each other? Half a world away... [sigh]

13. Do you two have nicknames for each other? TickleButt Nah, seriously, I call him fougar now and then, but mostly honey, hon, sweetheart, darling, dearest, love, babe and baby.

14. Do you have a fond memory of the two of you, either a first meeting after a long separation or a funny story (or both!)? Crash tackling him when I arrived at the airport. <3

15. What’s a cute quirk about your other half that gets you to smile, or down right laugh your butt off? When I catch him out on something or make an unexpected innudendo, he does this little stutter thing in the back of his throat like "uh... eh... uh..." [giggles] Adorable!

16. What kinds of things remind you of them, or make you think of them? Firefly, hugs, every single freakin' love song, grape soda.

17. What is your favorite thing about them? Him. Oh, and his smile. I adore his smile.

It's been a tough couple of weeks.

The house is in chaos cause it's my brothers 21st this weekend. Family is flying down for it so it's extra chaos cause there will be company.

My own birthday is on Tuesday but 26 isn't much to celebrate.

I'm trying to keep up with uni, drama rehearsals.

My Grandfather has been diagnosed with cancer and has told the doctors he wants to operate, even if there is high chance it'll kill him cause of his heart.

I broke down quite a bit today. Then on getting into the car two times today, the radio instantly played two songs which I really needed to hear:

Robbie Williams 'Angels' and The Beatles 'Let It Be'.

Yeah, God knows music is the way to get a message across to me.

It's tough but I'm being looked after.

It's gonna be okay.
