Equine Fursuits
Posted 14 years agoWhy are there so few, and why are there none that blow me away like some of the canine/kitty ones. Seriously.
I'm looking around for someone who can do it (So if i ever save up the money I can get one) But Geeze, I can't find one I'm happy with enough to tackle one of my characters. Bah!

Completely Random and Irrelevant
Posted 14 years agoTrying to figure out a way to make money so I can comission a fursuit. I want one so bad, but I am fairly poor XD. I was going to try making my own, but fail to understand what fur to use, and things like that. Plus, i lack a sewing machine.
My art isn't fantastic, about the only thing i can draw are horses, and even then only their head looks partially right.
I haven't really attempted with sculpting, though last time I did, they turned into cartoons.
I can write fairly well, such as backstories and histories of characters. I love to do this, and could possibly make a few of them, but honestly how many people want someone else to write their character's backstory.
I just lack artistic talent to make money in that way XD. Will give n00dz for monies. Just kidding, but this is my random rant of wanting a fursuit and being artistically challenged!
I mean, I could make tails, but then I'd be ripping off the amazing Bir (still unsure of how to do the whole icon thing :( ) who does those amazingly lovely yarn tails. Not that mine would be anywhere near as amazing as hers, but I don't want to take buisness from her (as I bought two from her instead of making my own XD) But i did consider it cause I REEAAALLLY want a fursuit.
And my stupid job only pays minimum wage that goes to gas money (freaking $3.90 a gallon where i live!), and my minimum wage job barely pays enough to constitute driving down there to work lol.
Maybe i could sell my Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet. Comes with teh tablet, the disks to install it and Corel Painter Essentials 4. It's not getting any use here, so if anyone's interested let me know and I'll consider selling it. It was only used like 3 times, and then i gave up lol.

The date of the auction has been set for April 4th!!
I'm sure most of you have heard about the earthquake and subsequent tsunamis that have impacted so many countries, Japan taking the brunt of the damage. Our hearts go out to all of those who have been affected by this disaster.
We would like to set up a charity auction to benefit some of the organizations that are being dispatched to help with the disaster (you can find a list of many disaster relief efforts on this page: networkforgood.org). Feel free to donate to any of those organizations through that page if you wish!
For those who do not have the funds to donate, please consider donating your time or efforts for this cause. We are currently gathering artists to donate their skills for the auction. On April 4th, the auction will be held on an auction site. The highest bidders (number of winners dependent on the number of people who donate) will then choose the items they wish to receive in return for their bids, and the artists who donated will complete them and mail them off. All of the proceeds from this auction will go directly to charity.
The list of current participants can be found at the original LJ fursuitauctions post here and on our personal LJ post here.
Please comment here if you would like to be added to the list of artists willing to donate. We will need the following information from you:
1) Name
2) Web address where your work can be found
3) What you would like to donate
4) "Base" price of what the item would normally cost, were it a commission (somewhat inconsequential, but it may help set a reserve price on the auction)
5) Your contact email
Please spread the word to anyone who you think may be interested in participating.

Posted 14 years agoSo I'm new to FA and the furry community in general, and I'm working on getting my fursona worked out ^^. I'm really excited to finally be getting involved. I'm not an amazing artist myself, but I enjoy the art here and what not. Just wanted to say hey, and officially start my FA journey :D
