What food you could never get tired of?
General | Posted 8 months agoIf you had to continue your life with one single type of food... (I'll make it "type" so it's easier.)
Which one would it be?
Rules are: day and night. Maybe you can have variation for small snacks or breakfast, but lunch and dinner are this particular type of food. Which one do you choose?
I was *this* close to starting to live of Soylent (no, not the one from the movies, lol). My nutrition was okay but I think I started to appreciate eating for pleasure again. You know, having stuff that you actually enjoy. Flavours, textures, etc.
I think my go-to has to be Japanese cuisine. Since I'm vegan I'm pretty much limited on the types of dishes I can have but it's still awesome. A close second place would be Mexican cuisine but there's a lot more animal based there, so it's more difficult getting alternatives. Still very tasty though!

Tell me about a recent run-in you had
General | Posted 9 months agoI had an unfortunate run-in with a colleague of mine. Fortunately I didn't let it escalate a lot and so, while we didn't resolve our differences, we agreed to disagree. It was more intense because, in a way, he was my boss, so I gotta stay within the lines that he defines. I still think my way is better, but this battle is not worth the whole engagement.

One I heard (actually, read) recently was: (context is informal writing)
"Imagine you're writing a chat to a friend. Write like that."
The whole point is how to write with "emotion", in a way that people will find interesting. Of course, again, this is about informal writing. Don't do your thesis work like that, lmao
Now to you: what's a piece of advice you recently heard/read?

I wanted to ask, what are you working on for fun? So, not work, but what are you doing for fun? Have you got a side-project, a hobby, an interest, something that you're dedicating time to? Tell me!

I'm currently exploring Rust, the programming language. It's hard but I'm liking it (yes, you're allowed to joke about that). I'm building an expression engine that will allow me to build neural networks and I hope to train some toy models before I jump into small sized-LLMs (so... maybe SLMs?). Let's see where the adventure takes me.
In the meantime, I'm revamping an old story I never quite finished. The original commissioner disappeared when I asked for payment but I liked the plot so I'm trying to build some new characters that will fit into it.
I'm also thinking of bringing back a bit of
TheFangsPalace, there are some ideas I have in mind.

We've recently gone through a few medical interventions at home, fortunately everything came out alright. The first few weeks after surgery were hard. Not so much about the physical pain but rather the uncertainty of what's normal vs. what's not. And you know you can't fully trust internet.
All in all, we're better than when we started. Which is crazy, that you can just open up bodies (surgery), swish them around and fix stuff.

What game experience was ruined by a single thing?

The end of 2021 and start of 2022 where quite accidented for me... but I have been slowly picking up on my regular activities, which, among other things, include a tad bit of gaming.
I'm playing Pokemon Legends: Arceus and while the story and gameplay seem... lacking, I love seeing the pokemon come to life. Nintendo, when's the Pokemon VR?
Anyways, the full experience is brought to its knees, in my opinion, with the camera stabilization issues that the game has. Also, the pokemon seem to see you a lot farther than you can throw balls. Not fair.

Lately I'm mostly focusing my online time with the joint project we have going on with Tassy, TheFangsPalace. But this is about another thing.
While working on it, someone came by and offered us to work with a character that is a lizard mixed with a watermelon. I absolutely loved the character idea and hopefully you will get to see it soon too.
What's the weirdest / most unusual character you've seen? Link it over! I want to see it!

I'm opening myself up for story commissions. I will write a story for you, and I'd be happily participating in the creative process. Not sure what to do exactly? I can help. Wanna create an interesting plot with twists and all? Count me in!
What makes me different? My goal is to fully understand the characters in the story and make it so that their motivations drive the story. You should be able to read the story and say "yeah, that's them". Let me fall in love with your characters.
Pricing is 1.5 cents per word.
This gives you flexibility of deciding how much you want to pay depending on how much length and background you want to give the story.
I might need to charge a bit more if I need to do some research. (Feel free to ask!)
How the process works:
There are two big options.
Option 1: "Plot / Draft / Final". I present a short version of the plot for you to review if it aligns with your idea. We can iterate until agreed. Then I will proceed to write the story, and I will show you a non-finished, non-polished version. With your approval, I'll proceed to clean it up and give you the final version.
Option 2: "Surprise me!". Give me a theme and a premise and I'll take it from there!
What you need to do: Just contact me and tell me your idea, we can roll forward from it. Even if I don't end up writing your idea, I'll be glad to discuss it with you.

Romantic Stories
Sexy stuff ;)
Kinks? No problem. I might have more or less experience depending on which one. Feel free to ask! Every question is welcome.
