Taking some commissions again!
General | Posted a year agoIt’s been a solid year since I’ve taken commissions regularly! In that time I did a lot of personal art, took a few small comms for friends, enjoyed my job, and completely cleared out my queue of old and owed art.
My job’s contract ended a few months back and I’ve been job searching since but with little success, so I’m taking commissions again while I look. Comms are open for the next hour or so until I close, choose, and work!

The Future of My Art (IMPORTANT!)
General | Posted 2 years agoIt's been a minute since I've posted, I'm sorry for that! I've been trying to figure out just what to say here, as I have what feels like a pretty big announcement!
I have a full time job now!
For the foreseeable future, I will no longer be operating as a full time artist. I love art, I love drawing, I love taking commissions. But if I were to make a steady comfortable living as an artist I'd have to be charging twice the amount that I currently am, and taking on twice the amount work that I'm taking on. It is currently not feasible for me unfortunately but I deeply enjoyed it while I did!
I've laid out some questions and their answers but please feel free to ask me any questions you have.
Will you still take commissions?
I may, in the future, do occasional small batches, one shots, or YCHs! Any commissions I open will likely be posted on my telegram channel (t.me/alterkittenupdates ), so that's the best place to keep an eye out!
What is the future of your patreon?
Since I am not consistently posting art for the time being, I will be closing my patreon at the end of the month. If you want to throw a tip or support at me for any reason, it will be done through Ko-fi from now on! (Ko-fi.com/AlterKitten )
If I get deeply involved in the world building I want to do, there's a chance I may bring my patreon back!
What are you doing from now on in terms of art?
I will be working on personal projects from now on. I've been wanting to world build and do more art for myself and the people I care about! I now have the chance to do that (when I have down time).
I will be uploading my works that are currently backlogged for public posting and then.. having everything public in the future!
There are a few commissions that have sat in the back burner that I'll get to complete now, and I'll get to work on some art trades I've been wanting to do :3
Thank you all SO MUCH for your support over the years. It's been an absolute pleasure to get to create for all of you!!! I have made a lot of good friends and good memories over the years and I hope to still be around (and have you all around) to create more. I really wouldn't be here without the support of all my patrons, commissioners, friends, and fellow artists. You all have been such a huge part of my life and I won't forget it 💖

Back in July I threw out my back very badly and was out of commission for basically that entire month, and a good chunk of August. I'm finally in a better spot and working regularly again.

Regular Update Schedule? What's that?
General | Posted 4 years agoSo I've been trying to do a regular update schedule for MONTHS now. I plan them all on postybirb, get em all ready to post for weeks at a time, and it suddenly crashes and resets the whole schedule. It's just kinda exhausting ahaha.
So I might do some bulk uploading some time soon, and try for regular again. My uploads are many many months behind my patreon and I'd like to shorten that down a teenie bit ahaha.

A little update
General | Posted 5 years agoHey everyone, it's been a while! This journal is half an update and... Half to just clear out my last journal from months ago.
Commissions have been slow (surprise surprise) but still doing my best to work through them.
In recent months.. years.. my back has been deteriorating. It started simply with just general irritation but slowly turned into a lot of issues. I have done a lot of things to make it better but I'm still struggling. No, this isn't a post I need advice on, I'm getting professional help. I've tried heat, ice, nsaids, taking it easy, and now physical therapy. PT has so far been the most effective but I'm still not there yet. Hoping to get an MRI to figure it out, but of course with this healthcare system it's not easy.
Anyway, it's been debilitating to say the least and slowed my progress a lot. I'm doing my best to keep working while keeping myself comfortable.
As well, I've been working on remodeling a home to live in for the time being. It's near my folks place, cheap, and pleasant. Just a fixer upper that's taking a lot of work. But I'll have my own office to keep myself productive!
Anyway, hope you all have been well. And thank you for reading.
