Posted 11 years agoGone and done it :D Got married on August 2nd and then went on a honeymoon... now back to reality and work lol... can't I take longer off?
It was amazing and a whirlwind. Honestly, for the amount of prep that has to be done for these things it felt like it was almost over too quickly.

2.5 months
Posted 11 years agoWoo... 2.5 months remaining until I marry... Been so busy with school and planning and still have managed to make good progress on both. It has been quite stressful for the last couple of months but now it's calming down and things seem to be much more managable now.
I hope that things are going well for the friends I have around here.

Changes abound
Posted 12 years ago2013 contained some really big changes and 2014 looks like it's going to contain just as much!
Last year I finished my masters, started my PhD, and met a wonderful guy who later moved in with me.
2014 started with a bang... I'm marrying him! Crazy crazy year, cannot wait to see what else is in store... sure not all of it will be good but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger right?

Posted 12 years agoWeirdest wake up this morning... it's currently snowing! I usually don't get snow on my birthday... and it's really small flakes, kinda cool.
Hopefully the sun will come out for a while today as well. Looking forward to having a nice day and an awesome dinner with friends tonight.

A friend of mine broke up with her boyfriend (yes they were living together but the place was in her name only) and the asshole first hacks her computer accounts... then tries to get her arrested for battery after having a friend punch him in the face... now he's taken out an order of protection against her, and claimed they both rented the place (his name is not on the lease) and she can't contest it until next week. So she can't even stay at her own home!
What a grade A asshole!

Fire Season
Posted 13 years agoHas been in full bloom for Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico... it is now hitting home in Wyoming and Idaho... Not far from my house a 300-400 acre grass fire has bloomed... moving away from me luckily, but I can see the smoke very clearly from my place.

Posted 13 years agoAfter waking up this morning with her laying on me and not wanting to move... giving me the "what? I'm comfortable" look. I have decided to name my new kitty Ruca... It's short for Veruca (which I didn't like that much), the spoiled character in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Patches, my 5.5 year old kitty, passed away this morning. She was having kidney issues and apparently didn't have enough reserves in the tank to get through the crisis. I'm going to miss her so much... Rest in Peace my angel.

Argon about some of the weird species we've seen around FA and I remembered a species I'd made forever ago but never did anything with... So I decided to finish it up a bit and put it to paper... maybe i'll get a comm of it someday lol
Species:
Feral and anthro forms: kind of a lizard mammal cross.... lilthe like a cat they had a spinal ridge that would lift when startled... their coloring would be either lizard like or feline like, never a blend, and they were always fur covered, with spines on the end of their tails... there claws are not retractable and are more reptilian in form. Males have larger spinal ridges, with the females ridges begin smaller but they make up for it with a venomous bite.
they are warm blooded so they can have sustained speed for a while, but they have to eat more... their feral forms are on the smaller cat side... so Serval to maybe cheetah, not the most durable. the venom helps females, but the males rely on the size of the spines to intimidate... larger the spine, more dominate male. bigger buffer male, larger the spines...
There are 3 different types, arid, arctic, and jungle... each having representative color patterns... with the new mutation of an aquatic form. the new mutation are thought of as demons, the legend being a sailor of this species made a packed with a sea witch so he wouldn't' die when his ship sank and he was turned into the aquatic form.
Desert have arid patterns, tans and browns... with the occasional bright orange and black like the hila monster coloring, jungle would be brightly colored for lizard coloring, or spotted cat coloring, arctic are always feline in color, since few lizards live in the cold... blue greys and whites for winter coat, tans for summer coat. Jungle types can occasionally be chameleons in color but it's rare. No "powers" beyond that though for any of the forms. The aquatic are the interesting ones... they lost their fur so you can see scaling mixed with mammalian skin, and their tail spines are webbed for aid in swimming, as are their hands and feet. The scales might be iridescent or brightly colored, but the mammalian skin is always darker grey or blue on top, with a white underside.
Anthro only: Shirts are a problem do to the spinal spines laying flat most of the time and rising when angered or threatened shirts are a problem. Most of this species wear a specialized harness that shirts are made to snap into the harness leaving a gap in the back so the raising of the spines won't rip the fabric.
social standing is that desert, jungle and arctic are all considered equal to each other, but it is currently taboo to breed with another regional type... so you'll rarely see a desert color with an arctic or jungle... and aquatic are outcast... kinda like the irish imigration, most settlements won't hire aquatics for anything other than the fishing or sailing trades. There are those that do break the "code" but they are usually shunned... This stemmed from the areas they evolved in not butting up very often, save for desert and jungle... having caused territorial conflict.

New character idea
Posted 14 years agoAlways happens... come up with a new character every so often... most never get visualized but I'd like to visualize this one.
If you know of someone that does reference pic commissions please comment here. I've got a couple people in mind, you know who you are ;), for when I have money but I'd love to look around as well.
