FC debriefing.. of some kind

My trip started off with a wonderful drive at ass-early in the morning through the most wondrous fog that you've ever had blocking off visibility more than a couple of smoots infront of you.
Landing in San Francisco later than intended and standing in line at immigration for what felt like two hours. Getting off the shuttle at the hotel, I was witness to two suit-and-ties that looked pondrously amazed - and to no surprise the fursuiters were out already. Getting into my room and whatnot and after some fiddling about sparktography accompanied me to get to Safeways for Dew and a sammich. Before I promptly crashed in bed for about 5 hours of sleep
Dew, by the way, was going to be a big part of my con :D
Thursday
Registration day! More people arriving and I managed to nab bjorngrafeldr for breakfast at some diner-looking place. And he was an adorable huggybear and spent breakfast on me. Thanks again big-fuzzy :3
Scouting around the hotel abit more I saw that most of the conspace that got used for LISA when it was held at the same hotel back in '10 was going to get used for this con. Considerring how kinda-meh LISA had been compared to others, I was abit dubious.
But spending some time along arriving furs wasn't that fun so I went to my room to scout out some place to get a 'merkan SIM. Ended up figuring out there was a T-Mobile reseller about a mile up the road, incidentally right next to a Target. And then suddenly who would tweet about doing a target run but bjorngrafeldr So off we went. In a totally different direction :P But he ended up with loot for his secret project and I ended up with an AT&T SIM.. that after a few days of banging my head again, worked for my purposes.
Later on I ended up finding lots of peopleses that I had intended to meet up with tekkub and Leah and ringtailwarrior and alleygator and Dustybear and his fox that I dunno the FA of and totally don't have enough good memorycycles to remember. :(
I was a sponsor, so didn't need to stand in line, but due to these fuzzies I ended up in that line for about 4 hours. Except for having to help someone de-zipper suddenly as I responded to a tweet-for-help about the issue. :3
The rest of thursday I don't remember much. I probably got my hands on Dew and wiggled around. I'm pretty sure I also found beachfox and unrepentantb somewhere as well. Most likely I hugged and lifted someone as well.
Con-wise they did manage to keep the con-space open, which was a concern since they didn't do this at LISA. Which ment there was a lot of room to walk around on... but nowhere to sit down really. And there were two rooms "hidden" down by registration that were probably a lot of fun but it was sort of "out of the way" of everything else. As was stuffing one panel-room and the creators lounge up at the third floor.
Friday
I think I went for breffust with the now familiar bjorngrafeldr and a puppy..tusky...tiger..thing..cutie whose FA I don't know either.. It could've been any day really, as I have a horrible memory.
The rest of the day was spent skulking around the dealers den, then suddenly making a bee-line for the art auction. And general wiggling around while strung out on Dew.
I also found a thrash to distribute hugs to that day. And copious trips to the art-auction to check out my bids.
This may have also been the day I was kidnapped by the tanuki gathering as an honorary tanuki and made to go back to my hotel for my passport since the place didn't want to accept my socialistically foreign driverslicense as valid. But drinks were had and tipsyness was being done.
Saturday
This is also a day I remember little of.. There was probably lots of Dew and wiggling. This, however, is most likely the day that thrash made fun of my Dew addiction, and then mocked me for it by slooooowly drinking his Dew right infront of me. Bah - doggies.
Saturday was also the close of the art-auction. At which point I'd had a _lot_ of Dew and could hardly stand still :P I did win my stuff though..
alohawolf also came by the con on saturday.. after I had totally misunderstood his reasons for coming down >.<
Once more I'm iffy on the day things happened but this may be the day I managed to utter the "I will endyou, bitch" line. Though there are many that remember the line, we're all iffy on the details. We seemed to reach a conclusion that someone had nabbed my (empty) bottle of Dew though. Thus prompting such harsh punishment to be doled out.
Don't mess with a panliger's Dew.
Oh.. And grisser tumbl'd over my beard.

I picked up my art-winnings and did an exchange and stuffa nd then totally didn't get breakfast because I was too procrastinating, but also it was...
Panelday! Usually I've been going to at least three panels steadily, but this con I was actually too busy hanging around with others. But the one panel I refused to let go was the hybrid panel. Still hilarious. The chair of the panel got a hip-flask about 45 minutes in. And I'm not sure it affected the way the panel was handled. beachfox even got to show off his lobstermoose!
In the elevator I had another zipper-incident too. A bunbun this time *flail* :3
Dinner was had with fox and moof and bunny and hottytype-person I've still no clue who is on FA but, like many others, was totally huggable :3
And also was the day of the bearparty. Being of the shy, introvert and not used to socialize type person, I kept my shirt on and felt abit awkward hiding in the corner. Also someone trumped my quote from the other day by describing vikings as "Blond haired, blue eyed rapemachines." And people flocked to the windows as someone was arrested outside the hotel by no less than 5 cop cars.
My sources inform me it was not someone actually at the con though.
Moday
Was a day of sadness as people was gearing up to leave and things were winding down and not much really happened. I was wiggling around slowly, downing my Dew intake as I knew I'd not be getting any when coming back home. Seeing people crowd the desk and the place outside the hotel is why I stay the extra day though.. so I can not be part of this. Also was the day I got the totally awesome gift pic by beachfox. And got to play amateur photgrapher for bjorngrafeldr and his Dr. Hunt suit.
The dead dog part was also on, and I stayed around mostly. In my own dysfunctional way I didn't really participate much though. In spite of ringtailwarrior and alleygators attempts to get me to move it move it. Hopefully I didn't put too much of a downer on them for that.
Also got a slice of time with a totally adorable polarbear as the dance was winding down.
Tuesday/wendesday
I got my worst part of the concrud; got some Airborne to try and help get it away.. that stuff is awful by the way. sparktography hooked me up with some Emergenc that I need to try and find for my next trip I think, as it was infinately much better.
I managed to pack everything into my bag, which made it probably twice as heavy as the limits. Said goodbyes to a few that were still in the hotel before shuttling off to ... wait even more at the airport as their computer system had crashed. Zonked out on the plane, spent some hours in London and then came home to coldth and snow to brush off the car.
At some point during the con I also (repeatedly) ran into nuke and I finally managed to track down babytiger.
All of the people I've mentioned, the ones I don't know the FA's to and others that managed to slip my slippery mind made sure the con was all the con a con should be.
In sum: awesomeness - save for abit better utilization of the con space.
Also; I do think I've learnt to be abit less introvert - managing to try and initiate conversations with others and say hi and stuff.. But I've got a long long long long way to go yet.

Kinda crap since if you use tab to mark your submissions you sometimes end up doing the nuke button thing.
I guess I can no longer be saved by a mere popup.. nor all those submissions I had intended to go through >.<

Posted 15 years agoFC is over. Long liv.. nah. That's too cheesy.
The con itself is over, I'm still in the hotel room. Nursing PCD and stuff. Mostly cause I'm sappy.
The con itself was awesome. This year I traveled with someone, so I had some company while going over, and had the option of a "fallback" if everyone went poof. And I was the fallback for someone else.
In short, this year's con was awesome. Due to awesome people. And people aparentlyt thought I was drunk all con. Which was kind of amusing as I only had one drink ... and that was the last day.
Other things was that I was re-specied. I am no longer a panliger, I am an oh my.
The best thing about the con, apart from hanging out with people I know and people I got to know, was definately the room party/ies I got invited to.
Oh - and someone fed me the next to last day, less-than-three. That effectively turned off my brain tho.
Shoutouts to people will follow at some point where I feel less stressed.

Sucks that it was foggy this year(and hella rainy) - so we couldn't see the fireworks being shot up "in town". We're usually in a very good spot, more or less overlooking the town. But alas, it was not to be.
But - merry turning of the wheel of time everyone and anyone.

Posted 19 years agoWithout making a post that is pro or con anything, I'm just finding this "If you fantasize about something wrong it is wrong because it will end up happening"-logic. I find it fallacious.
I mean - I've "fantasized" about doing various harmful stuff to people cause I'm mad at them. But the thought of going through with it has never struck me. Likewise with games - they draw you into a fantasy world where "you" do things. Surely this means that I'm going to end up, in an unordered list, as a powerful mage, as an area champion, wildly driving around hitting people with a car going at silly speeds, generally driving around at silly speeds hitting into gas stations?
I'd like to believe that just because I enjoy playing games that are rated for violence, that I'm not going to end up going to town and beheading people :P
And saying that drwaings are still bad even if they're not photos because of foo. Does that mean movies are even worse? In that case I'm afraid I'm a lost cause. I mean.. if a picture is enough - think of what movies like Conan, Kill Bill and Sin City will make me do.
I'll be happy to take responsibility for my actions, but I'd rather be able to take action before I assume the responsibility. (Something which might be considered the responsibility not to take action(where action means going on a killing spree in $location using $something))
As someone else pointed out, if someone draws a NC pic, they're not really likely to go out and rape someone just beacuse of that, are they? Or if they draw vore? But those are that kinda stuff that "some" people frown upon. But let's take something slightly less esoteric. Furry .. .. artwork of the mature kind tends in some cases to be generously gifted - I'm not talking about the macro or hyper things, but they're taking my point to an extreme. But even though I like the picture of someone sillily hung having the special kind of fun with someone - I'm not about to be involved with a treetrunk being applied to anyone's orifice.
