Posted 16 years agoHaha, hey dudes! I didn't die or anything, but I have a lot of job now (this is a good thing, really) and so I kinda haven't really been drawing much (which is not such a good thing).
I do want to make sure I don't have any commissions left hanging here... I don't -THINK- I do, but I really want to make sure nothing slips through the cracks, either. Unfortunately this only counts for PAID commissions, so if you've talked about getting a commission from me but never sent any money... well, it's probably just not gonna happen! I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
I do hope to eventually start drawing more for myself again, so you may eventually see some of that stuff here.
I probably won't be making it to FC, even though I live within public transportation distance. I work friday afternoon through sunday morning, anyway, and also thursday night and sunday afternoon, so it really just isn't practical to even try to make it out there. Sorry!

D= I've been working on things, mostly trying to get a 'real' job so I don't have to keep begging you guys for money (I can just wait until you volunteer it!), and I've actually been out of town since this past friday visiting family on the opposite coast. 0_o

Pricing goes like this-
$15 - one character, cleaned-up sketch with white hilights/accents.
+$15 - second character
+$50 - inked and watercolored
+$7 - Shipped anywhere (otherwise arrange to pick it up at a con or just get a high-res scan)
These will be done on 8x5" brown paper.
These examples were done collaboratively with Fishy, again, this round of commissions will be done entirely by me.

AMSTERDAM DESCRIPTION (for artist reference)
Posted 17 years agoAmsterdam is a Mongoose.
I was looking at yellow mongooses and banded mongooses. I also liked Rikki Tikki Tavi when I was a kid. And I'm fascinated by snakes. So think 'generic mongoose' or a mongoose that's like a mix of a lot of different types of mongooses. But not meerkats. Meerkats creep me out. Ew. [j/k! I'm just NOT a meerkat].
As far as mongooses go, I'm tan/yellow ocherish on top, lighter tan/naples yellowish on bottom, and rustish at the corners and seams. There are threeish pairs of dark brownish stripes- the only important ones are the ones on the face- see icons and whatnot. The other pairs of stripes are at the lower back and on the tail near the base. But do whatever you want with the body stripes- it's okay to be creative. Eyes are pale yellow, almost white. My nose, pawpads, etc, are a mahogany pinkish color. Tongue is a similar color, but lighter and a little more saturated.
Amsterdam is a (functioning) pothead.
Yep.
Just in case you weren't sure.
Artwise, this means it's ALWAYS okay to show me smoking out. I dig all manner of smoking devices; bongs'n'bowls'n'blunts and even the occasional hookah or whatever else. S'all good.
There are a few other substances Ams will occasionally indulge in. He enjoys his friends Lucy and that other Fun Guy, for instance. He does have limits, though, so you may want to ask if I'm okay with it before drawing or otherwise representing him doing more questionable things. Just a quick disclaimer.
But while I may enjoy a drink now and then, you'll never see me drunk. Also, I do not smoke cigarettes. Rat Poison. x_______x
Please never feel like you have to show any kind of drug use, though. I'm an artist first and a stoner second, so I dig any kind of art you make. ^______^

State of the mongoose...
Posted 17 years agoSorry there hasn't been anything new in the last week. I've got some deadlines coming up in 'real life' that have been demanding most of my time lately. Not to mention working about 34 hours at my 'part time' job over the last four days.
Anyway, after I'm done with this thing that's due thursday, I'll have a bit more time. I've been itching to do another glass appreciation drawing, and there's some nifty lineart by
kappy I want to color and play around with.
While I'm here, I'd like to thank all my new watchers for giving me such a friendly welcome to FA, and for all the comments and faves! I'm not always good at responding, but every word is read and appreciated!
