This past Thursday, my father died from complications from Covid-19, after being in a hospital since Christmas Day.

He was a good man. There's a lot I want to say about him, because there was a lot of good he did. But it's hard to really think clearly, so for now. I'm just going to say a few things he told me. Bear in mind also, he was a Reverend.

Considering how horrible the year's been, can we just make the whole month of October Halloween?

It's that lovely time of the year where it gets close to my birthday, I become extremely moody, tired, self-critical, and have a hair-trigger temper. Don't exactly know why, but it may have something to do with recognizing my own mortality, and tendency to procrastinate on everything. So, once more, I'm going to vanish for a few weeks, like I've done in the past, but I promise that I will be back and probably in a better shape than before. Heck, I might actually have some new art to show after! Just give me a bit of time to get myself resorted.

About a year or so ago, I've become interested in a strange YouTube channel called "Global Worldwide" ever since I stumbled upon them. You know me, I like weirdness, I like the strange and unsettling. Everything from bizarre videos to recordings of old Cold War Era numbers stations, I love watching and listening to. So the moment I saw these weird mashups of seemingly random audio and video, I was kinda hooked. At first, I thought this was some sort of video version of a numbers station, as all the posts were done at certain times and were always 30-31 second long. However, there was an abrupt change to the format of the videos, showing random color combinations and the same sound of what apparently was some sort of gunfire and the sound of approaching firetruck or ambulance for nearly a month before inexplicably switching back to their more normal posts. To me, it seems that Global Worldwide is testing algorithms to see how similar posts can be and not be flagged by YouTube, though I do not know for certain. Still they are bizarrely interesting to watch. Also the comments section is amusing at times.

Well, Tumblr's decided to happily march itself into oblivion by banning all NSFW content. While my blogs there really wouldn't be affected, I really have no no desire to stay with them after they decided to sacrifice a large chunk of creators (some of whom I regard as friends) out of a spineless desire to cover their corporate butt. So, over the rest of this month, I'm going to be saving and importing the contents of my old blog "Ask Nightmother Moon" and my current blog, "Clicks from Taint Fare" to FA. Now, I have posted a few panels over here before, but I'm going to be doing an overhaul that will make the most of FA's gallery system, so I do apologize if some prior things get deleted, reposted or moved.

To all you artists using tablets, are there any mid-level tablets that are remotely affordable? I have a friend whose computer's screen, which was used akin to a tablet is starting to malfunction, and I'm trying to see what would be recommended as a holdover.

Down to one monitor for nw, which Kinda sorta bites, as I am used to multi-tasking with two. At least one is functioning.

Today I will be heading to Nacogdoches, a small town in east Texas, a place that I haven't been since March, 2000. The place has always had significance to me. It was there I spent a large chunk of my life, there I went to college. There in 1996 that I discovered the World Wide Web on a dinky Macintosh LC with a "blazing fast" 14.4 K modem. It was there that discovered the furry fandom and started some of the longest friendships I have held in my lifetime. A lot of my real life started there.

I've had to hold off this trip for so many years, always meaning to go there, but always having something happen or some excuse to hold me back. Today that changes. I need this, I need this, not only to remind me of who I was and the things I was gonna be, but to also see all the changes, so that I can see what it is now, and let it go.

I really am looking forward to this.

Yet another tooth cracked open on me. I was hoping to wait until summer to do more dental stuff, but this forces my hand early. :( It doesn't hurt at the moment, but I know that I should get it worked on ASAP. Hopefully the dentist office will be open tomorrow so I can schedule an extraction. They did a wonderful job on the last one.

There is a very good chance that I will be day-tripping to Furry Fiesta February 10th. Part of me was considering taking and wearing the Red Ghost Horse costume that I had made for Halloween ( http://www.furaffinity.net/view/25285432/ ) over there. However, I am a little worried, as the costume itself has an actual horse skull. I'd like to know your opinion.

Do you think it would be alright to wear there, or should I leave the costume at home?

2018 is going to be a lean year for me. while some debts have been paid, there is still a fairly large one remaining. I am going to rein in all unnecessary spending, but it may still be slow going as the year is new and that means the insurance company is going to be taking out deductables with every doctor visit until it is paid- and unfortunately, I am overdue for a few things. So things are gonna be not fun for a while, but hey, it's a good resolution to get debt free and not be distracted by other things.

That being said, once things are paid off, I am hoping to start up a small Etsy-based business selling weird dakimakuras, like the ones I've posted so far. I'm not expecting to make a living off of it, but it would be fun to be able to have a second "job" that I actually enjoy doing. :)
