So, some of you may have noticed that my art output is lower, that I don't really roleplay anymore, and that I am hardly around. While most of this has been gradual, things really hit into high gear a couple of years ago when I ended up working at the bakery section of Kroger, working in a highly stressful, underpaid and understaffed position. It took me a year to find a better job, and in that time, it put a massive strain on me. By the time I was working in the new job, I genuinely felt...old. Now I'm gonna be 40 this October, but to be honest, I never really noticed anything in the past twenty years up until that point. Nowadays though, I don't have the same energy or clarity of thought I had before. I am out of shape in a major way, and due to my having to get up early in the morning for my current job, I'm usually tired an unmotivated when I get home. There seems to be so much I need to do, and so much I want to do, yet so little time to actually *do* anything. I don't feel as connected to roleplaying as I did years ago, either. I still feel strongly connected to drawing, but trying to get motivated to draw or even keep up with my tumblr ask/story-blog is proving difficult. It's hard to sleep, too, and am looking at meds to help. I'm feeling my mortality with a mix of acceptance and uncomfortable realization that I have 10-20 years to do/enjoy all the things in life I wanted to do before my body starts to decline rapidly.

At the beginning of this year I chose to not make any new years resolutions- because making them is the surest way to fail. Instead I am going to slowly switch over my living habits. I have a gym membership, which I am going to start making use of, as the weather is pretty bad. I'm also wanting to do more in regards to art and crafts, and make some things that I had planned but never did. I have a few odd goals as well, like replacing my car with a commercial-grade van and other things.

I don't know if this will make sense to friends, many of whom I haven't directly spoken to in a while. I mean, in the simplest of terms, I'm just another guy going through a "midlife crisis", which is as depressing as it is amusing. But i felt it might be best to explain what all is going on.

Seriously, don't bother texting, noting, IM-ing or whatnot today. After the shit that was pulled the last two years, I am not taking part of this April 1st nonsense.

Could you please let me know, so I can un-watch you here? I have absolutely nothing against your personal decision to leave FA at all, I just don't want my "is watching" list having a bunch of dead links or linking FA pages that will never update.

After nearly 7 years of faithful service, the motherboard for my HP Pavilion p6140f, is about to die. The audio on the board burned out two years ago, leaving me having to use a crappy USB "sound drive". then the USB ports started failing one by one, until all I had was the one in the PCI port, which I bought a 24-port USB hub as a temporary solution. With all the things that have happened to it, its demise is inevitable.

However, all is not lost. I managed to get a Gigabyte GA-P43-ES3G motherboard, which will not only take the CPU, but also the Ram and pretty much everything else. Also a year ago, I saved up and purchased a Corsair Vengeance C70 computer case, and recently a power supply. This week, I will not likely be online in any strong capacity. One of the projects I will be working on will be construction of the "new" rig. Hopefully,everything will go well and the heart (or at least CPU) of the my old computer will live on.

It seems that my state of being has taken a downward turn ever since I took that horrible job at the Kroger bakery. Though I am happy to say I have a much better job now, the after-effects are more pronounced than I expected. I used to not feel so ...old. I find myself looking back at how I was in the 90's with a profound sense of regret for the course I took in my life, and even more so for the things I didn'tdo when I had the opportunity. Part of my mind goes "Do these things now!" while the other part goes "What's the point? It's too late. Prepare for the future instead." I'm seeing myself age more profoundly since last year, and it bothers me. I am afraid to reference anything from the 90's on SL or whatever fan-chat, because I'm worried I'll discover that I'm the oldest person there. I'm losing interest in things I used to live for and so many things are just frustrating to me.

I estimate I have about 30 years left.

I find myself inexplicably wanting to buy a car from the 50's.

I think I might be having a mild "midlife crisis".

Or maybe I'm just getting old.

Seriously though, I hope that 2015 is a great year with positive changes in the lives of all my friends, aquaintances, and their families. I think we all need a good year.

“I can answer that! Daddy calls himself ‘Self’, everyone else calls him ‘Taint Fare’ and I call him ‘Daddy’!”

2. Do you know why you were named that?
"Hmmm... Daddy doesn't know why he's called that, but he's used to it. I dunno, but it kinda sounds like 'it ain't fair' to me. I wonder..."

3. Single or taken?
"Daddy says he'd like to have a nice herd with mares, but mares are scared of him. I don't know why, he's a really nice pony.


4. Have any abilities or powers?
"Daddy has two large tentacles near his shoulders and a bunch of smaller ones on his head. The small ones can moves small things, and Daddy can smell with them too...somehow. The large ones are really strong. Also, he can make loud clicks and can tell the shape of things that way."

"Daddy want's to know about Mare Eesu, and would like to meet her."

"Um, Daddy doesn't have eyes. He can't see things like you or me. He can tell things by scent and shape, though."

"Daddy and I have each other as family. He didn't have any family, and Mommy died when we left the Stable for the outside world. Daddy became my father after he saved me from Raiders. He's very nice, and I've learned a lot from him. I think Mommy would have liked him."

"Daddy says he likes to pet mares. I think he's confused."

"Daddy says he doesn't like BadPonies like raiders, or ponies that shoot at him with pain-things - I think he means guns. He also doesn't like BadMachines, and he really, really hates Crawler-Tongues. He doesn't like things that hurt others or make them feel bad."

11. Do you have any activities/hobbies that you like to do?
"Daddy says he likes going through his territory,learning new things, and finding mares. *I* like sewing and making lace things out of thread or string. THat's why Daddy calls me 'Little Spider'!"

"Well.... there was once time... You see, Daddy is kinda different from most ponies. He likes radiation -he calls it 'other-warm'. It makes him feel stronger, and if he's hurt bad, it will fix the hurts and make him better. The first year we were together, I got bit bad by a radspider, and my left leg hurt bad. Daddy took me to a place where he would heal up.... but then I got really sick. He got worried, and because I showed him what First aid kits were a few weeks back, he took me to a place that smelled the most like a first aid kit- the Farrier Pass clinic. THe doctors and nurses were scared of Daddy, but they helped me get better from the bite and the radiation. I told them where he had taken me to try to help me, and one of the doctors got really mad and said that Daddy was bad, and was gonna take me away from Daddy! It wasn't his fault! He didn't know radiation was bad! I managed to get past that mean doctor, and ran to Daddy and told him to take me away from the clinic fast. I'm not going back there ever! Daddy's NOT a bad pony!

"Daddy says he has killed radspiders, BadPonies, predators, and Crawler-Tongues. Daddy says he fights to protect the herd, and that killing sometimes happens. He also says killing is not always bad, but *liking* killing is."

"Daddy is a pony, but....different. Ms. Dinette says that Daddy is a 'm'yoo-tant'. I think that means he's a specail type of pony!"

15. Name your worst habits.
"Daddy says he doesn't understand."

"Daddy says he looks up to- Me? You do?"

"Daddy doesn't understand the question. I don't either. But I do know that he's not a bicycle. He's a pony, silly!"

"Daddy's never been to school. I kinda miss my school in the stable, and the Cricket Club. That's where I learned to understand Horse Code using brass clickers. That's how I first started talking with Daddy. He can't talk like normal ponies- when he tries, his voice is all bad and it hurts his throat. He talks using clicks and squeaks."

"Daddy says he likes mares a lot and wants to have a large herd. I think if Daddy could he'd marry all the mares! It's funny!"

"I haven't seen anyone with fans around. There really isn't any need for fans- it's cool at night and also in the caves we call home."

"Daddy says he's afraid of bad things happening to me, or losing me. He says he's also afraid of 'wings-and-horn ponies'...those sound like the princesses in the school history books. I don't know why he's scared of them-princesses are all good in the books."

"Daddy doesn't wear anything. Most cloth is itchy to his skin, though I found some cloth like satin and nylon isn't itchy to him. Maybe I can find enough to make him a suit or something...."

23. What's one food that tempts you?
"Daddy says he likes the eels un the underground river, and mushrooms. I don't like eels much, so he lets me have more of the canned foods we find. I miss the vegetables the Stable had in the Hi-dro-pone-ick gardens, but then I kinda feel bad because there's lots of ponies out here in the outside world that haven't had a real carrot, or lima bean. I wish i could give them all some."

24. What class are you (low class, middle class, high class)?
"Daddy never went to school. I was in 2nd grade when....the Lottery happened."

25. How many friends do you have?
"Daddy says that he has some friends. I've met a couple of them. There's one I really don't like, but I don't wanna talk about it. I have a couple friends in town, like Ms. Dinette, who is a ghoul. She was around before the War and saw it all- and that was over two hundred years ago! I also have a few friends who are my age, but I can only see them when we are in town, and usually only at 'Mom's Diner'.

26. What are your thoughts on pie?
"Pinkie Pie? From the Ministry of Morale? Daddy doesn't know about her. In the school books, I read that she was the the Bearer of the Element of Laughter, and that right before the war, she headed the Ministry of Morale, to cheer ponies up during the bad times. She sounds like she was a good pony."

27. Favorite drink?
"Daddy says he drinks water, though I know he also likes Sparkle Cola Rad, which has that 'other-warm' he likes. I like Rad-Away- it tastes good. Ms. Dinette gives me one each time I visit- she has a lot of them that she's stored for years. She also gave me a small box with a meter on it, that makes clicking noises when close to radiation, so that I don't get sick like that one time.

28. What's your favorite place?
"Daddy says his favorite place is our home cave. It's very safe."

"Daddy says he likes mares."

"Daddy and I can't swim, and there are no lakes or oceans out here."
