As many are aware working from home and stricter controls are hitting all the things I had planned this year thus far just an update that I am keeping my eyes on Midwest Furfest to reamain on.
What I had planned to do has taken a major turn and with that have held up deliveries till I can ensure that anyone I will meet is safe and healthy. Which I hope you all are staying safe.
So as many know Anthrocon and Eurofurence are off till 2021 so gotta wait now .... Waiting is all we can do.
Like to keep on keeping on.

UPDATE 1 -> 2020; A Year of planning

I am undergoing on a project to overhaul myself as a character. This is a phase of marketing branding and becoming more of a figure for my road to take my Rhino/hybrid into a new phase of his existance. I've been kind of disparaged about making this leap but thought I would then just say that I kind of want my character to resonate and relate and start this plan for 2020.
Phase 1: The Character Himself
This is a 3 part phase which starts of getting into the world of creating a marked up character with a involvenment in the furry fandom a big swing into taking me up through the world and making myself as a character more known.
Step 1; Writing a book
This has been a major part of my time spent on evovling my character so I've undergone the process of writing a book of a smaller character I made who's more aimed at introducing the world of the furries to those who aren't inside it. It's a kids book with a child friendly bunny character. Much like the series with John Oliver. My book targets to really show the future generation of what the fandom is about. This book has gone to the stages of Artwork and I've even had a publisher come on board and accept my challege for 2020 so exciting

Why is this imporant for a character to have, I believe marking that I attend quite a few places, I now hope to speak about challenges we face and what we can do as a fandom not only to grow but how we can use insight to allow ourselves more treansparent overview. I am working on getting time with some of the BIG PLAYERS in this world and garner insights, capture markets, using analytics and more to create something that not only allows us as a fandom to be more friendly. But to show those skeptics what we can do and how we do it.
Step 3; Return To TV
I am writing an update onto one of my favourite shows and hoping to pitch back The Wuzzles to those now. Showing that we can colour and create characters with multitudes of differences and bring them together. As a big fan and what inspired me. I hope to inspire more people to think outside the box, hoping that a TV show will reach more audience but also tie my character into being a voice for those who want the fandom to grow.
Phase 2: Make a Mark
When we're talking about creating something we need to know what we're leaving behind, what the stamp says once we leave. I see some areas of improvement that I'd like to help and discuss with events I've been too. I see some gaps that we could allow open us as a community to the outside world. When attending such places an escape is really what the bones are for being allowed to be ourselves. I want to open that up just to take my own experience to twist that we can have the best of both worlds hence making a mark better on what our fandom can do for people and communites.

Just so you know a project I been working on with a non fur friend has gone to the UK and is now going around. I was one of the writers and did some work on staging with it here in dublin. My friend will take off to London and I sadly can't persue it. But this is just what i want to do. I am now looking to star or do some voice acting work with other people on projects. Or be of any help in that sphere.
Big and Loud is all about a man who becomes a macro balloon form of a human. He now has to survive though his new found size.
Its a muscial too, i did some singing for it also,
I don't know where or when Big and Loud is starting but I believe he said Grennich, London. So if your a UK fuzzy look out for it, its a blast and got some good praise from the Gate theatre here in Dublin. He is a Trinity College Grad so he's young so lets see if he can be as BIG and LOUD as the performance he wants to get out of his actors.

Fur Cons Future
Posted 8 years agoSo I've been compelled with the last convention I attended to now use some of my talent and expertise to take to the cons of the future. In the wake of the fandom here. I hope to provide a true reflection of Ireland and the broader spectrum of what it is to me to be Irish and moving .

Thanks to the Hyatt Regency for hosting a great convention, we also got to use a part of the Stephen Lawrence convention center. Congrats on the total figure of 7075 attendees.
Thursday
Suiters everywhere the con had not yet begun but what a mix of color species and fun times to be had got to eat at a Chicago Pizza place which was phenomenal now I know why Chicago is renowned for it.
I also got flattered with meeting many new friends

Quote of the convention made by the staff head for media "Pound Furfest" was just a great quip for the con. I can hardly doubt he was under a lot of constraints or maybe wanted to see if that old term Pound rather Hashtag would land. It landed and stuck throughout the convention.
That was the official opening day. Starting what would be mayhem in fur as the whole con erupted with songs, dance and multitudes of talent . One such epic was the elevators had
"No... No... Fur-affinity no online"
Saturday
Panels Panels Panels and more Panels, and even Cards Against Humanity and Werewolves. Had dinner out of a dog food bowl with my best buddy
Rukario71 which after 11 years of only knowing him on Skype I meet for the first time it was an epic meal and that is when I confirmed that I will do MFF 2017
Sunday
Some sadness as the con came to its unfortunate end. With a blast of tears I am sure the staff of the hotel were mopping puddles up for a long time after. It really was just great, some things may need to be considered like the hotel space being a little narrow but overall everything made for my best con experience thus far.

Posted 9 years agoI found out today that someone special is gone. I never really got to know him out of the convention scene but we were close. Talking on skype and email and what not. Dumbfounded such a great soul is gone. I want to extend to any friends and family prayers and condolences. He was a very special soul, a very great and bubbly person

Do the Irish drink as much as we think?
I would say this is totally Stereotypical but you're right to think that we drink a lot, you're probably actually underestimating it.
Is Ireland as beautiful as it is in ads?
More so, but what you're seeing on TV is mostly the western or central parts of Ireland, the majority of population live on coasts but mostly in the east. But Ireland is Beautiful.
Where in Ireland should I go?
Kerry, if your looking for scenery and typical 'TV' Irish accent then Kerry is a place to go, I'd also suggest Donegal or Mayo my home county . But in Donegal you may get a little frostbit
What is gaelic?
Well we don't in Ireland call the language we speak Gaelic, but that's confusing because we do have the Irish for it which sounds similar "As Gaelgiá"
However it is also the name of a sport, best comparison for an American is Aussie Rules
What's a primary school?
Well in Ireland our school system may bewilder the American's as until 2004 we had three types of Primary School which lasts from 4-12 . We had 3 divisions
Catholic Primary
Public Primary
Private Primary
Then we have secondary school which is like highschool, but a lot less clique than American Highschools.

1. What does "Póg mo thoin" mean?
It means kiss my ass, although I have to spell it differently as I have connemara Irish . Which leads too.
2. What dialects are their?
Well 4 provinces will make it easier .

Connemara is the West Coast dialect, here are Irish is stronger, we add endings like -sht and -ogóa
ex .. "Taim a shaternasht ó Eireanogóa" = I'm speaking from Ireland.
phonetically "Time a shas-er-nocht oh hair-og-ig-a"
Donegal is the Northern dialect here some words are still in old irish, or don't use an urú as much as Connemara.
ex ... "Taim ag rincé ar an mhord" = I'm dancing on the table
phonetically "Time egg rin-ca air on vord"
Dingle/Daingean Much like in english the accent of Southern Irish Speakers is very muddled and hard to understand urús galore.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
So 13's Highlights are here and to celebrate this year, which has taken some surprise turns. In this year I've made leaps and bounds in fields I never expected to make but none the less I want to share with you my highlights of a year which has made me... In one word "Ecstatic"
Educational Fields
I achieved an honor from the Medical Science Board of Ireland, They granted to continue help support my PhD research needed for continuing my research. Well they resigned the forms but more the honor was they liked my report after a year of support thus far. I'll be going to see what the future path has in store even if its rocky thus far. I must welcome the road of change.
I also am half way down a path to my DHCP exams with 4 complete it will be my second time to sit these exams with the pass rate at 80% and a fail means to start again the lurking shadowy hand is in store, but furthermore my next exam is early in the new year so wish me luck.
As part of my PhD I got invited to Iceland, it was a week trip to the icey island nation. To which I found stunning as it was cold. But being from Ireland the cold was brisk, but easy to overcome. I got an offer on support to work as his acting associate. But I don't see myself in Iceland for the rest of my life. But the offer was still flattering but i had to decline.
Travel
First in March I went to the mostly changed, yet small island of Inismore. A place I had gone much when I spoke irish more commonly .
In May I was in both Sweden and Spain on a holiday for one, and then to actually go see my friend who has recently got a company started , all luck to him
In Later August I went to England to move a friend to his new home in England, a fellow furry friend whom has seen that light does shine in even the darkest places.
Then November to Iceland see above ....

This is written for a special friend of mine, who is currently at odds, his condition is yet unknown by his doctors. I felt a little helpless beside him, beside myself. So i wrote this to somewhat clear my head of the thought, any well wishes or feedback is welcome!

Posted 12 years agoI decided to do an Interview with a girl who is interested in learning about the Furry Fandom in Ireland. She says its a part of her PhD project. I can relate to that so I decided to tag along and tell her what it is like being an Irish fur.
Here is the interview
Interviewer: Your Name
Me: Séan
Interviewer: Current Occupation
Me: Neurological Consultant Specializing in Rehabilitation;
Interviewer: Rehab, like drugs, alcohol and depression?
Me: In some cases yes, but I more deal with people involved in Car Crashes due to the alcohol or drugs or other median, and I rehabilitate them back to learning how to live and cope with there new predicaments. Life in cases of serious paralysis etc
Interviewer: That's an interesting tag? What is that? *pointing to my badge*
Me:Yes this is my hybrid character Uillian he is a mix of a rhino and a bear.
Interviewer: Oh what a bizzare decision I read, and I hope not to be stereotypical, is that being a little non-conforming?
Me: On the Contreras Hybrids are actually more popular in the fandom, why just recently. I thought I was the only one in the fandom, but a now acquaintance of mine, is also a bearino.
Quite a small fandom really!
Interviewer: Bearino, did you come up with that?
Me: I'd like to think so! I can't at this time say ye' or neigh to that statement, and yes I meant to make that joke.
Interviewer: So what's a furry, when its at home?
Me: I actually had to rehearse this quite a bit, since that's the best question.
I feel that the fandom to me is a group of people, who like Anthropolymorphic animals. Growing up with Disney, Studio Ghibli and other shows with talking and walking animals. It seems to inspire a generation. Furthermore the fandom is full of Disney related creatures, and artist, animators and even writers.
The fandom itself is a celebration of the fact everyone adores anthro animals. Its proven in such places like America. Who stride themselves as the Fur Captia of the world, there not wrong. Did you know? AC this year had over 1000 suiters at the fur walk, that may have been 1/8 of the total people who attend this convention. But you forget, people may only go for one day. Some may be too shy, or anxious to go walk in the parade.
I myself am put in a very big shadow, our neighbor's in England, have come a long way. I went to CF there last year, with 800 in attending, well that's astonishing. And that in itself is a meer representation. England has the largest furmeet in europe, in London.
The biggest con is by far EF, held mostly on mainland Europe.
Interviewer: So in a way your an actor?
Me: I ought to think I am, in my suit, or fursona. I am playing a character, he may have my personality, and be me in an animal form. But end of the day yes, in a way, when i put on a mask or suit. I am acting. May be because I myself have no self confidence. I doubt everything I do, and idolize and look up to everyone else.
While that me both in real life and in character; I think I can be a lot more expressive in the suit, I think i can project myself more, while under an illusion i am safe inside my suit.
Interviewer: You mention self confidence, so your shy?
Me: Me, shy *laughing* Not at all, i have as my father would say "The gift of the gab". I tend to get nervous, don't get me wrong. Embarrassed too.
But shy, no, I don't feel shy about meeting strangers. I like talking, I do a lot of it, it's me... i just feel like that's the definition of me feeling confidence, while underneath i am crumbling without any confidence in myself.
Interviewer: Could you say the fandom is a bit fake?
Me: Fake, is a bit of a harsh term. I couldn't say it, because it to me is not. It may be an act or a show for the people who we meet. But in the long run it makes people happy. It gives people with social problems ie being deaf, anxiety etc.. A chance to express and fornicate around, while at all times. Being a lovable, hugable character.
Interviewer: Good answer. I have to ask though, you speak Irish, I read on the boards, also a fellow interviewee told me. So does that get you attention?
Me: Interesting as its the very reason why and how I became a furry
Interviewer:: Care to share?
Me: At age 15, I took my first holiday alone, not really though as I was going to the states to meet a relative, and more so a blood relation of mine, who had moved to the states in seek of jobs.
I arrived in Atlanta and stayed with him, but while out and about in the city. Minimal English at this time. Enough to get by, but american slang, was confusing, still is. I have to still sometimes try to quickly think of things to make sense for me.
I was out in the town, when my phone rang. It was my mother. Now my mother has never spoken English to me, So while on the phone I did the rigmer-roll of you know;
"Dia Diamh mo mhamóg, conas a tá liambh?"
"Nil, Ta me an mhaite ar faddá"
"Slan go foill"
But while i slide the phone down. A paw, came upon my shoulder.
"Sorry to interrupt but what is that you're speaking?"
In a deep southern accent it was much harder to understand. But I caught the jist and told him it was Irish. He aske if I was from Ireland, I nodded in reply, down south, he asked quizzically as I smiled, and nodded again.
He was in a full suit, so i was pretty much in shock. I never seen one before, so I was a little frightened at first until he was asking me loads of things about me, and Ireland.
He bought me a coffee removing his head introduced his real self too.
I after learning who and what he was decided to take further looking into furry. Wikipedia gives a brief explanation. But as anyone can edit it, i looked up other sites to help explain it to me.
I started to develop an interest in the fandom after reading and seeing the talents of the fandom through the internet, which yes a lot of my friends today reside on the internet. I have never meet them. But of course one day will change that.
So yes Irish gets me attention. I like speaking it to people. I never been to an American convention, but when I do i will try speak irish as much as i can. I just don't want noone to understand me. I need English, more than Irish.
I use it a lot more anyway.

Me: Age 16 i tried it out, but more around 18-20 i started to sign up to websites and follow more artists

Me: I been asked that through the years. I am afraid the media, the internet and the world seem to think we are beasts. I certianly hate that, when called it i feel like slappin' them upside the head.
It seems for some people, there is a sexual thrill of being an animal. I won't lie about that, you don't have to go far to find out why we get that sort of a title.
Thanks to things like Room 366 and such, furs have become more popular, but also more hated by the 'normal' society that condones this.
I for one feel yes personally there is a sex thing hanging over the head, it is infact kinky. Bizzare as it is to you. Seems more than natural to me. I mean I won't flaunt it at work or to my family. Nor do they even know what a fur is. i feel it would damage my career but none the less.
The sex side of the fandom exists, we call it yiffing, so yes it is there. But its not all about sex actually for some, as I said its an escape, its a way to get your work noticed. Although mostly artist get the popularity, its not hard to say we find stride in the fandom.

The fandom is diverse so i don't think people should presume its sex base. I feel if you really want to know what a fur is, you need to not listen to the media, or to cheap wiki pages. Maybe find a fur and learn.
You may yourself find a talent, friend and even a soul mate.
If it weren't for the fandom, i know a couple who recently had a child, would of never have meet if it were not for the fandom.
