Season the Third
Posted 16 years agoWell, today was officially the launch of the third and final season of my 150 word challenge. Enjoy!
An Update
Posted 16 years agoAs you have no doubt noticed, I have not published anything new for at least a week. I feel that I must explain myself as there was a time when I released a new segment every DAY. You see, my keyboard broke of late. Okay, that's a bit of an over exaggeration. The "h"on my keyboard broke. Npw, H may not seem like that important of a letter, but it really is. "h" is an essential part of the English definite article "the", as well as a crucial part of various essential words, such as "that", "he", "she", and "has/have/had". As such, the lack of "h"made it most difficult to type stories. To make a long story short, I have since purchased a new keyboard, hence the number of "h"s present in this essay/rant/what have you.
So what's my point? Basically, there should be a new segment shortly.

My Plans for the 150-word Project
Posted 16 years agoDear Faithful Reader:
As you may be aware, my 150-word project has had 25 installments thus far. Well, I will be releasing the last installment on July 1st before I leave for six weeks for Portugal. After I return from Portugal in mid-August, I will resume the project with what I call "Season 2" of the series. There are some big changes coming up in Season 2, so I hope that you will be patient. I estimate that the "premiere" of Season 2 will be on August 16th, but that may be postponed a day depending on how I feel after my return. I thank you very much for staying with me for the past 25 installments, and here is to another season of torment for my poor nameless captive!

I'm BACK!
Posted 16 years agoWell, I had a quite nice trip to the big city (of Minneapolis). I saw Phantom of the Opera on stage, went to the Minneapolis Institute of Art, and even did some charity work for Feed My Starving Children. All in all, a quite fun trip!
I am currently returning to part 5 of my 150 word challenge. As of right now, it will be out today (Sunday in CT) but it may end up being postponed until Monday.

Pictures vs. Stories
Posted 16 years agoJust something that I've been thinking about the past few days. Feel free to weigh in with your opinion!
A large majority of the material on this and comparable sites is either pictures or writings, and I’ve often wondered which I prefer. Of late, I’ve reached the decision that I prefer to stories to pictures. Why, you ask? Pictures provide a short, visual burst of sexual pleasure in my opinion. Although they often are elaborate scenes, they are ultimately just a single moment in time. Stories, on the other hand, provide an entire series of events that often lead to the exciting scenes that are captured in pictures. Basically, in my mind, a story is a whole journey while pictures are simply the climactic end result.

Writing
Posted 16 years agoIt seems to me that I complain a lot about my writing, but here's yet another post dedicated to it.
As I've mentioned in a few posts before, in 2008 I began an actual novel that I hope to finish and publish. However, this is easier said then done, especially with college stealing all of my time. I am near the end of the novel, and I really want to finish it, yet I just cannot get the words to flow.
In other writing news, I have started a new fetish-specific project along the same vein as "The Riddle". This one, however, is a little more mainstream, almost to the point of being a little cliche. I won't go into the details now, but it should be posted in a week or so if I'm lucky.

A Decision of Mine
Posted 17 years agoI have decided that I will shave off all of my hair, get seventeen piercings on various parts of my body, and refer to myself as Laverne. That is all.
I AM SO HAPPY!
Posted 17 years agoEveryone Else is Doing It...
Posted 17 years agoSeeing as everyone else is doing it, here are my New Year's Resolutions, in no particular order.
* Finish writing "A Morning's Light". Aside from the more naughty stuff that I wrote in 2008, I began a novel. I hope that by the end of this year, I can be well into the editing of this novel. My long-term goal is publication, but that most likely will be a resolution for 2010.
* Get a boyfriend/girlfriend/"friend". I really am open to either gender. I've only had girlfriends in the past, so I am curious about what a relation with a guy would be like... I see cute guys (and girls, for that matter) all around me. I just need to get up the nerve to begin something more serious. (But not too serious. I find sex disgusting and frightening, to be completely honest, despite being on a fetish website.) I'm 18 already, so I'm running out of time. ;)
* Get a job. I am in college, so I need money! I've cast my line, if you will, but no bites yet. (How I abhor fishing!)
* Make 2009 a better year than 2008! I know, cheesy. But, whatever. Everyone drops these things by January 15th, any way.
So, happy new year to everyone. Hopefully 2009 will be everything you want it to be!

Labels
Posted 17 years agoYou know what I'm sick of right now? People who ask you if you're gay or straight. First of all, Does it really matter? (To most people, yes it does.) Secondly, there are a lot of other "labels" out there. In fact, right now, I am describing myself as a "pan-aesthetic pan-romantic asexual". Unfortunately, most people have clue what that means. I mean, I'm not totally straight and I'm not totally gay, but I'm also not bi. Labels are stupid anyway. You cannot seriously tell me that there is a person on this planet who has not at least considered going against their label. But, since the human race is so obsessed with labels, here I go.
I identify myself as a male pan-aesthetic pan-romantic asexual sissy babyfur and I am a white middle-class college student who is colorblind, near-sighted and right-handed.
Judge me as you will.

A Matter of Happiness
Posted 17 years agoI've been meaning to get to this, and well, I've decided to do it right now. Before I even begin, the whole point of this note is same-sex marriage. Before you start looking up Bible quotes to battle same-sex marriage, look up Matthew 7:12. Now then.
This world is not perfect. I think that we all can agree on that. In fact, some would say that this world is the furthest thing from perfect. But, at least in my opinion, there is one thing in this world that is perfect. Love. Love is one of the emotions that is the most written about because we all dream of finding that true love. So, who are you to refuse someone that chance to love another person, just because their true love is different from your definition of true love? How would you feel if someone passed a law that restricted your rights to love, your rights to happiness? In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote "We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, and are endowed by their creator certain unalienable rights, that among these include life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." As corny as it sounds, just by reading those words, tears come to my eyes. Those are some of the most powerful words in this nation's history. To deny another human being his or her right to happiness is to take away what makes them human. Do we really want to go back to the nineteenth century when slaves could not get married because they were considered property? Will we continue to treat our fellow man as a second-class citizen just because he loves another man? I like to believe that this country, this country that elected Barack Obama, a man of mixed race, as President of the United States will, someday, wake up and realize that it is fundamentally wrong to deny another human being their basic human right to happiness. I don't care if your religion is against it. Would a God that professes universal love really condemn someone for seeking out true love? Do you really think that a man who urges you to love thy enemy would also urge you to condemn thy fellow man to a life of solitude and loneliness?
Let's face it. Marriage does not have the best success rate. In fact, some would go so far as to say that any marriage has only a fifty percent chance of working out. Are you so cruel as to deny another human being the right to even try to take that chance? In a world where "one-night stands" are an all too common occurrence, do you have any right to deny true love in whatever form it comes? Do those "one-night stands" and two week marriages really sanctify marriage more than a marriage built on the basis of true love? If you are saying 'yes" right now, you need to take a serious look at your beliefs and find the fundamental error that you have made. I urge you to rectify that error as soon as possible and start seeing that just because two people are in love doesn't mean that you can't fall in love with your true love. Right now, many people are in "traditional" marriages only because society has forced them to hide who they really are. Can you even imagine having to live a lie, a lie to your spouse, your family, and worst of all, to yourself? Personally, I find it absolutely disgusting that I should even have to type out this note, because, in my opinion, the pursuit of true love is a basic human right that no one should ever even consider abridging.
That is the end of my rant.

YAY!
Posted 17 years agoSenator Barack Obama is the president-elect!
This sucks!
Posted 17 years agoSo, last friday night, I lost my wallet. My campus ID, my driver's license and all sorts of other stuff, gone! I have tried everything I can think of, informing campus security, putting out a campus-wide e-mail, and about a million other things to get my wallet returning, but as of right now, no such luck. I have lost all faith in the human race. What sort of heartless, soulless bastard would keep someone's wallet with fifteen dollars in it?
I swear, if I find out that one of my friends took it as a joke, I will personally castrate them, shove their testicles into their throat and sew their mouth shut so that they choke to death on their own testicles!
I really hope I find my wallet soon...

My Thoughts
Posted 17 years agoAs some of you know, I am in college now. College, in my opinion, equals crazy free time. So, I have done that most horrible of things: I have begun to ponder things.
One of the things they warn you about is the plight of homesickness. However, I have not seen a single person who has even the slightest case of homesickness. I was wondering why this is, and I had a revelation. It is because of the technology of today. Even as I type this, I am chatting with my sister, my little brother, and one of my friends who is in college on the other side of the state. Technology allows me to talk with my family no matter where I am. (Granted the location has internet access)
I am watching the DNC right now, and frankly, I am impressed with the intelligence of some of these politicians. I mean, we all complain about the government's incompetence, but these people are actually extremely competent. (At least, the democrats seem to be.) Perhaps this country isn't as doomed as I thought it was...

Hello Again!
Posted 17 years agoWell, I am now officially a college boy. I have survived orientation and my first two classes. (Intro to Cultural Anthropology and Pre-Modern East Asian History: To 1800) Anyway, I get this strange feeling like there is something I need to get to work on... a story perhaps? I don't know. I'm sure that it'll come to me... Whatever it was.
The Next Step
Posted 17 years agoWell, at 4:30 AM CDT tomorrow, I will depart from my house to the big wide world of the University of Minnesota Morris. Even as I type this, my room is empty as the majority of my stuff is in my dad's van, ready for the departure tomorrow. Sadly, however, this great leap forward into the next stage of my journey to gain a college degree will negatively affect the time I can spend on the internet for the next few days. (I have freshman orientation until Wednesday.)
But I promise that I will return eventually with an addition to the Riddle. I promise that I have begun to write Part 12, but I have a lot of work ahead of me. After all, it may not seem like it, but I do have some loose threads to tie up in the story. So, if you are suffering from Jeremy and/or Vinco withdrawal, the only assistance I can offer is for you to go back and re-read the first eleven parts. (I actually just did that and am now even more dedicated to doing justice to the end of this tale.) So, I bid you farewell as I begin my journey into the next stage of my life. The next time you hear from me, I will be a college student!

The Riddle Update
Posted 17 years agoOkay, I haven't given you much news of late about the Riddle, so here you go. I AM working, just very slowly. You see, I start college in one week, so I have been packing and running every which way to get ready. As such, Jeremy's plight has been moved to the back burner. However, to avoid riots (I know that you're planning one!) here is a little teaser for part 11.
WarningIf you are uber-sensitive about possible spoilers, do not read this. Trust me. Once you read the actual part 11, this will seem trivial. Part 11 is just that good! [/shameless plug]
Imagine the parts in italiacs being read by one of those guys who narrate movie trailers.
In a world where teenagers are abducted by psychos and subjected to growing up all over again... a boy is rescued by his father, but is this all just a trick? "This guy had been toying with me for so long, and now, I just feel like there's no way he would just let me go." How safe is Jeremy? Is this real or is it all just another game?
The Riddle: Part 11! Coming soon to a monitor near you!

What is Going on in Politics?
Posted 17 years agoWarning: Politics ahead.
Okay, this is really odd. Lately, the two primary American candidates have begun a little debate over who thinks the most like an American. Yes, that's right. Now, in my opinion, the average American thinks in the following manner. "America is the greatest nation on earth and no other nation matters. Georgia is only a state so we need to nuke the Russian Commies for invading!" (No offense to any who think like this.)
Here's the deal. John McCain, who has been trying to come across as full-blooded American, was not born in the United States. (He was born in Panama.) Barack Obama, considered a muslim by the thick-skulled American public, was born in Hawaii. Senator Obama has the lead so far. However, as both Hillary Clinton and John McCain had reported, Obama spent part of his childhood in Indonesia, so he couldn't possibly think like an American. This ignores McCain's time in a Vietnam prison camp, which evidence has shown, could cause PTSD. I'm just an eighteen year old from Minnesota, but I believe that time growing up in Indonesia is less damaging than time in a prison camp in Vietnam. That makes the score Obama: 2, McCain: 0.
We now turn our attention to Senator Hillary Clinton. This really is a very moot point seeing as she is out of the running, but it is still humorous. Remember her ad about the phone call at three A.M.? Well, she claimed that she was the better person to be answering the call at three in the morning. Yet, in several debates against Senator Obama, Clinton complained that she always had the first question. This from the candidate who claimed that she would be ready to be president on the first day and that she was the best candidate for an unexpected emergency? American politics are screwed up of late.

Rant
Posted 17 years agoSo, I have been posting my main project "The Riddle" on both FA and FTT, yet I get hardly any reaction to it of late. As such, I have decided to rant for no particular reason.
What is it about good writing that internet folks avoid it? Is it really that horrible to read a story with a good plot? Excuse me if you just want to read crap that jumps from molestation to rape without a breath, but some of us serious writers would like some comments every once in a while. I mean, I can't draw worth crap, so what else can I do? It just seems to me that the shitty fanfics are being read way more than my hard work. Granted, The Riddle is not your typical story, but I would think that people would want something unique instead of yet another story of Sasuke ass-raping Naruto. (Seriously! Way too much Naruto buttsecks!)
Just for clarification, I am not seeking the cliche comments that just say "Good job" or "I like it." Read this quote by Stacy Horn, one of the pioneers of the internet, when she was talking about discussions on forums. "It's actually better than a live conversation. In a conversation that's non-real time, you can take your time and really consider your thoughts and say something more substantial." Something substantial! That means that you take your time instead of just being post whores. If you are going to comment on something (anything), you should at least make some effort. On FTT, I have had a few posts that actually demonstrate that they read my story instead of just commenting for shits and giggles. I realize that I am being melodramatic, but I am absolutely sick of working for hours on a story that no one reads. The worst part is, when I don't update enough, I get people bitching at me for not "fufilling my commitment"! I'm sorry but I wasn't even aware you were reading this story. I'm failing to fulfill my commitment, you say? Well, I have four words for you. Shut the hell up! If you think that can bitch at me for not writing at the pace that you want me to write at, you can't! I am the writer, not you! I will write when I feel like it.
I am just at one of those moments where I hate the human race.

My Reaction
Posted 17 years agoWell, I am happy about FA being back up, but the true delight here is the fact that I, notorious for forgetting such things, actually remembered both my username and password on the first try!
In better news, I have (I believe) at least four new parts to be added to The Riddle, so yay!

Writer Angst
Posted 17 years agoOkay. Seriously. What is wrong with the world? I have been writing The Riddle, pouring my heart into it, and I hardly get any response to it. (Hey, if you have read the Riddle, pat yourself on the back!) On FTT, stories that have one or two chapters written thus far have three times the reads The Riddle has! I mean, what the heck!?! Plus, The Riddle is pretty good. It's not the conventional baby fur story. (If you've read it, you're probably nodding in agreement right now.) It is a thousand times better than some of the crap that I've read. Yet, that absolutely horrendous crap gets a thousand good jobs, and how many do I get? Four or five at the most. When will the world actually recognize talent?
I mean, what am I doing wrong? Is it because I don't spit out twenty stories a month? People should love the fact that I am not the type of author who writes just enough to get a fanbase, and then abandons the project. Maybe I should just give up with writing and try something that doesn't involve watching people's inferior work get praised while mine just stagnates. Maybe I'll take up knitting. I'll just sit in my attic day after day, knitting afghans and other useless things...
