Ten things I wish I could say to people:
1. Thank you for staying with me. I feel better when you're there, even if you're just asleep in the bed next to me. You really are everything.
2. I miss you. Sometimes it feels like you don't care, though I guess I must be giving off that vibe too... I don't know how to reconnect, but I really, really want to try. But most of all, I just miss you.
3. You are a hooker. Which means you're essential. I hope you never get bored of me and decide other people are cooler.
4. I'm sorry for being a failure. I'm sorry for wasting your money lately, and I'm sorry for not living up to my own old standards.
5. We've only just started talking, but already I'm lovin' it. I only hope I don't come off as creepily overaffectionate, ahaha. I will true you if you let me. =B
6. I can only hope you finally know what's best for yourself, but I can't help but doubt.
7. I thought you had issues with him. I guess I miss you confiding in me, even if that's selfish.
8. It was nice when I felt I could make a difference in your life. That feeling's been long gone.
9. The baby is safe ahana and doing well on its diet. Also, Baby Peach will not get to it; we moved her to a higher security prison.

I...actually found out I had this filled out on my computer. XD; And I'd forgotten about it. So, without further ado, a character meme~
1. Hey! Another meme! Let's introduce your character:
Andren Redtail from the bookKatherine and I wrote last year, The Wingéd.
2. So. What do they do on a day to day basis?
He alternately yells at or tries to avoid people. Honestly? Growing up he had no friends (this is not just an emo teenager’s opinion; he literally had none), so until Nona came along he was very, very lonely. People were just too stupid to bother with, and he didn’t, uh…share their views on a lot of things. Now that Andren is a Wingéd, not much has changed: he can usually be found doing something with Nona, away from other people. That is, if he’s not at his job, being bossed around by Rasma Saem, who delights in doing so. Or hanging out with Kaiv. He likes Kaiv.
3. Their favorite food?
Anything with sugar. Namely grapes or cakes made by Nona. He also likes spicewine (a low-alcohol content wine that’s got sweet spices in it; not sure what to compare it to other than saying a sweeter version of Glühwein).
4. Their sexuality?
I’m going to assume straight. That’s the feeling I get, anyway. He’s only ever shown interest in one person, though (Nona), so it’s hard to say for sure.
5. The people they care about the most?
Nona. She undoubtedly tops this list. He also cares about Kaiv, Taryn (Nona’s brother), and Hati (the wolf god he’s the oracle of). While she was alive, he also had a strong bond with his mother.
6. Their general occupation?
Andren works as a guard in the employment of Rasma Saem. Calling him a guard would be a glorification, though, as the job mostly consists of him running around the oracle city of Amalga, running errands.
7. Something they're very skilled at?
Andren’s quite intelligent, he can use magic, and he knows how to use a sword. However, there’s a drawback to every one of those things (his anger often gets in the way of the logical part of his mind, he’s new to magic, and he’s had relatively little sword training). He’s an eighteen-year-old who grew up in a privileged life, and not really a prodigy in any way, so I wouldn’t say there’s anything he’s “very skilled at”. But he’s definitely not unskilled either.
8. Weakness?
Well, Nona, I guess, if you wanted to use his love for her against him. But an answer more relevant to his day-to-day life would be his anger. Andren gets annoyed too easily, and sometimes it just drives others away, even if he has a point. He usually quits before he burns too many bridges, but it’s still not a good thing.
9. Their biggest fear?
I’m sure some part of Andren still hopes his relationship with Nona isn’t all a dream he’ll wake up from eventually. As for more rational fears, he doesn’t want Nona to be hurt anymore, by anyone.
10. Their biggest wish?
…My last sentence kind of touched on this, actually. XD Andren wishes he could somehow undo all the pain Nona’s had to go through in her life. Obviously he can’t in a way that can be measured in some quantity, but he’s definitely helping more than he even knows.
11. Family?
Andren’s mom died when he was ten, but he loved her. He hates his father, however — they don’t agree on some very important things (for example, his father would hate it if he knew Andren and Nona were a couple).
12. Worst experience?
Either being stabbed or almost being executed.
13. Best experience?
Hearing Nona say “I love you” for the first time. (Other runner-ups? Their first kiss, and their first time having sex.)
14. Criminal at all?
Nah. Despite the accusations of the god of life and death (Osiris), Andren hasn’t ever actually done anything illegal. That said, he probably would if he thought it was the right thing to do.
15. Age?
Eighteen physically, nineteen mentally.
16. Time for some reactions. Your character just walked in on [insert someone they like a lot] and [someone they hate a lot] playing chess. How do they react?
In other words, Nona and his father. He would know he had to be dreaming, because in reality this would never ever happen.
17. They just fell down six flights of stairs. What do they do?
This would be hard to manage with wings. However, he would probably just very loudly say, “OW.”
18. They just got shotted!
He’d go see Rasma Marion and Asclepius and have them take the bullet (or arrow, since bullets don’t really exist in his world) out. He’d be bitching about it the whole time, but he’d basically be okay since he’d know they could take care of practically anything.
19. Candy store! What do they buy?
EVERYTHING. As much as he could afford, anyway. He has a sweet tooth the size of…uh…a very, very large thing.
20. Your character is alone with their lover. What do they do?
Murry things~ (Well, uh, probably, actually. XD Or they just sit around and snuggle or talk. Basically, whatever they both felt like doing.)
21. Your character's enemy has just been hit by a car, what do they do?
I guess he’d be glad his enemy (who would either be his father or Osiris) just got flattened, but at the same time he’d be like, “WTF IS THIS MECHANICAL THING.” Cars don’t exist where he lives.
22. Your character and (some guy) are stuck in an elevator for the next seven hours. What do they do?
It depends on who he’s stuck with. Some people Andren can tolerate, but they are few and far between. So he’d end up being pissed off at the poor random person for five different reasons. It’d…be a very awkward and silent seven hours.
23. Your character and their lover, and best friend, go camping. What happens?
That would mean Andren, Nona, and Kaiv or Taryn. Either way, it’d be awkward, since Andren and Nona are a couple. XD Kaiv would just make things more awkward on purpose (he finds awkwardness funny) by teasing them constantly, and Taryn would just try to make things as not-awkward as possible. If it were all four of them (Andren, Nona, Kaiv, and Taryn), it would be considerably less awkward, since neither Kaiv nor Taryn would have to be a third wheel. They could just go off and cause trouble together.
24. Your character is alone with their worst enemy. What happens?
Again, I’m not sure who this is. If it’s his father, he’d just yell at him and probably end up trying to kill him (I know this for sure because it’s happened before). If it’s Osiris…well. Andren would try the same two things, but all the time he’d be praying to every god that was not the one he was currently facing to please not let that motherfucking ram kill him first. And since Osiris is the most powerful god in that world, and controls life and death…Andren would almost certainly be a goner. Which is a really depressing note on which to end this meme.

Life's been...ugh. Actually, I don't even wanna talk about it, really. XD; Let's just say I MAY FAIL MOST OF MY CLASSES.
Today's fiasco was having a project that was due today (for some extra credit; tomorrow's the real due date) fall apart half an hour before the turn-in time. =| Yeeeah, that was...great. I'm currently pulling another all-nighter in an attempt to fix the bastard.
But, on a positive note, I just found out there's been an extension for an essay that was due tomorrow that I...hadn't even started. Now I feel like I might have a chance at that class. That's good, right...? =D;

General | Posted 16 years agoYeah, so, midterms are approaching, and THINGS ARE GREAT AROUND HERE. 8D; (Read: Ivan is stressed and AFKAF.)
Basically? My Internet's been flickering in and out at odd times, which is...annoying, but not the worst thing. It just makes, uh, getting online for any length of time frustrating and difficult.
But the worst thing is, of course, the midterms.
I didn't even realize that midterms were this week and that spring break is the next -- I guess I'm just unobservant and didn't check the syllabus or...something. But yeah, uh, my portfolio review for Figure Drawing was today (GREAT STORY ABOUT THAT, BUT THAT'S UNRELATED), and guess when we were told? Yeah, last Friday. =/ Of course. (It's not on the syllabus either, so that's not just me.) I mean, I like the teacher in there; he's really nice and stuff, just...uh, a bit more notice would have been awesome.
And I have a project due on Wednesday and an essay exam on Thursday and AAAAA.
So yeah. Sorry for those of you who are expecting trade things from me -- school unfortunately comes first, so you'll have to wait a little longer. =C

If I were to post any of my writing -- most likely the beginnings of my stories, since none of them (aside from The Wingéd, of course) are done and I no longer split them up into chapters -- would anyone read them? I've already posted my music, and I think at least some of you listened to it. So, like...would you read a few pages from each of my stories? I figure it'd also be useful so I could point people toward the writing and say, "There, that's that character I keep talking about."
Uh, so, yeah, opinions would be nice. XD I guess. This isn't very important, though.

General | Posted 16 years agoSo, my tablet's decided to...well, essentially die. I can't be sure for certain what's wrong with it, but Katherine and I think it has to do with the USB cable. For the past few days, if you moved it around, you could get it to work, but now it's stopped responding.
I wasn't sure what to do about it -- I could e-mail Wacom and see if they'd sell me a cable on the side, since those aren't listed in their official store -- when I noticed that the mini-USB port on my digital camera matched that of my tablet. Unfortunately, I don't have my camera cable here; I never used it, and it's probably back at home instead of here at college.
But, prompted by that, I went on eBay and found a cable that matched my camera for only $4. (And...apparently it was already shipped, and I just ordered it an hour or so ago. Dang, they're fast.) Uh, here's to hoping it works on my tablet?
...And just when I'd finally started Katherine's Valentine's Day picture, it had to die. >_> AFKJafoijoaj

Unfortunately, I don't have my camera cable here; I never used it, and it's probably back at home instead of here at college.
But, prompted by that, I went on eBay and found a cable that matched my camera for only $4. (And...apparently it was already shipped, and I just ordered it an hour or so ago. Dang, they're fast.) Uh, here's to hoping it works on my tablet?

In other news, we're basically snowed in. It snowed aaaaaall day today, and classes were canceled. It's stopped for now, but we're supposed to get about two feet total. That's the most I remember ever getting at one time. O_o

General | Posted 16 years agoSo, recently Rasasha has been playing a video game with a self-enforced challenge in place. I've known Katherine to do the same in the past, mostly with Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
WELL, UH. Yesterday I decided to beat Pokémon Diamond's Elite Four with only two Pokémon. XD;
The Pokémon in question were Firehazard the Charizard (level 60 when I started) and Sparkle the Mismagius (level 57 at the start). They were both really, really good in the games I got them in (Diamond and Pokémon Colosseum, respectively), but could they beat twenty-six comparably-leveled (if not higher, at times) Pokémon in a row?
The answer was apparently YES. 8D I just got done beating Cynthia, and AOJFIJOAFFFFF. It was pretty epic. I feel really fulfilled, you have no idea. Firehazard ended up level 63, and Sparkle level 61.
I just wanted to share that. Because, uh...it was exciting to me. XD;;
(Also, as the journal title says, sorry for the journal spam today. I just wanted to get those up again so I could link my profile to the right things.)

, but for those of you who didn't, I figured I'd post a bit about myself. (And in case you watched me over there but, uh, didn't really know me or something, I dunno.)
My name's Ivan Rathe, and I'm an art student at James Madison University in Virginia. (Why a username that has nothing to do with my real name, then? Andren is an important character of mine, and when I found out that username was free, I couldn't resist using it.) I'm engaged toKatherine, and my closest friends are 
Kira and Rasasha (both of whom I've had the pleasure of meeting offline.) I like anime (my favorite is Fullmetal Alchemist, which is where my old username comes from), video games (especially RPGs), and other things. LIKE POKÉMON (Charizaaaard <3). I started out doing art traditionally (using mostly Copic markers), although I use Easy Paint Tool SAI and my Wacom Bamboo Fun tablet a lot now.
A lot of my art focuses around my characters (I love them ;~;), and I draw more EWWMANS than the typical furry would probably care for. XD But I like drawing humans, animals, and furries. And speaking of characters...my fiancée and I finished our first book together (entitled The Wingéd) last spring. (Trust me, I reference and draw things to do with it a lot, so...that is important to know.)
OH. AND EVERYTHING I SAY IN ALL-CAPS IS FOR REALLY REAL COMPLETELY SERIOUS. >=C (Except that's a lie. I'm always joking. XD It's a habit I picked up from Rasasha.)
