In my page views. It was 1914 when I went to sleep. Now 1919.

Every early morning I go outside and walk for a few hours if weather permits, and today was the best weather I could ever hope for.

I went out at 6:20 so it was still night time, practically, and it had been raining so the ground was wet, with many puddles scattered around and the dirt about was just mud. It's December so most of the trees are not green, though there are a few, which is nice (I like variety in trees) but most are either bare or mostly bare, yellows, oranges and reds along with the greens, and lots of dead leaves on the ground.

The neighborhood is both lower-middle middle class and somewhat old, so the houses are more colorful with lots of wood and brick, and some stone, and the concrete is uneven and dark, some parts are kinda gravelly and mossy, lots of trees all over and very few sidewalks, which is aesthetically pleasing to me.

The best part, the part that makes it special, is that is was foggy. I love fog, but I almost never see it. Today I actually walked in it; my first time ever to see fog outside of going to school. And at 6:30 when it's still pretty much nighttime and it's super foggy out with just the Christmas lights and some city lights and signs, it was just beautiful. It looked kinda like the landscape of a gothic horror. It was still pretty dark for the two more hours I did walk, though at the end the sun came out and ruined the fun. <-n->

Honestly, if I could do that all day, I would. Walking in the dark with fog after it had rained. If just that was my Christmas present, I'd be happy.

I had never seen it since I was a kid, because my dad never took me back there when looking at Christmas decorations, but then we went and remembered it.

It's a yard with two trees, both have about a dozen Santas hanging from it like they're dead, with a few on the ground, and by the door to the house was a creepy Osama bin Laden-looking Santa petting a dog with some nutcracker soldiers at his flanks.

Gah, the days when I was thirteen, seventh grade. No social skills, friends who made the nerds look like coolios, shouting out Shitcase Cinema quotes, playing as Godfrey Ho ninjas, throwing my lunchbox when at recess after lunch, my old D.R.I. hoodie that I really want back, playing Skyrim every day before school, drawing 9000 pentagrams on my homework and printing logos and album covers off my computer, cutting them out and taping them to my binder.

I both miss it and cringe.

Damn, I just noticed that my new neighborhood could be the setting of a 90s sitcom...er...if the houses were bigger, but still. You have pretty clean sidewalks and streets, the houses are all kinda bland but also not, there's kids on bicycles, people actually come outside to jog or walk with their families...I'm just not used to this, but I like it.

Also, it's a safe neighborhood; the last one I was in had two murders right near my house in the span of a year, and some of the people looked like methheads. And the one before, where I've lived the longest, was even worse, especially in the cleanliness factor. Damn rednecks couldn't stop throwing their bottles of beer and piss out on the sidewalk, lol.

So yeah, just wanted to share that because when I was out walking I thought about how family-friendly and saturated and actually nice-looking this new neighborhood is.
