I'm doing a thing where I'm open for in-stream sketches every time I stream now.

$60 a sketch, single-character only, includes basic grayscale flats, 2 slots per day, first come first serve.

If lots of people want a sketch in one day then I'll raffle the second slot. I'll only do a third slot in one day if I feel like it. But I stream every day so it shouldn't be hard to get a slot. 10am to 5pm PST approximately.

I plan to open to two-character sketches later. Just getting my feet wet for now.

Okay so my new idea is I'll open up commission slots two at a time; one for patrons only, one for anyone. The kind of commission that slot is for will vary depending on what I'm learning and focusing on. I'll do a few of these until I get comfortable with a new style and way of doing things, and auctions will give me a more accurate idea of what my stuff's worth. Then later I'll open up for open-ended commissions again, maybe. We'll see what happens.

I only want to work on one or two things at a time so I can keep my focus, but my turnaround is pretty quick. You can expect more slots later this month either of the same as this one (bust) or some other focus.

Alright things are looking much better now! Here's a quick recap of stuff that's been going on.

November and December were tough! I got hacked on Discord in November, had my car stolen by a meth head in December, and in January I got sick for a week! Add holidays and family and very cold weather to that and it's been a strangely stressful time of my life. But the dust is settled now and everything's mostly back to normal, and I've been working on my art backlog.

Coonix won the auction to breed Luck back in October, so I'll be whipping out comics and stuff for him probably for the next two months. I've also been doing kind of a lot of CTF pieces lately since I sorta opened myself up to a whole community of transformation lovers and everyone wants some. So that's on the table for February also.

I'm raising commission prices again in an attempt at slowing down offers so I can focus on my next venture. I keep experimenting and changing my goals and art style and I've grown to accept that's just the kind of artist I am. What do I have planned? Not telling. My motto is don't tell plans, show results. I'm back on my horse though so as long as I don't get hit by any more random thieves you shouldn't have to wait too long to see fancy new stuff from me.

Okay, I got my Discord hacked today by someone who got ahold of a friends' account and then used it to get my account. I got my Discord back without too much damage and have been upgrading my account security for emails, bank accounts, and social media accounts. Lesson learned.

Here's what I want you all to consider in order to protect yourselves:

1) Don't open strange files given to you by anyone, even if it's from a friend or relative. Your friend could have their account stolen. Strange files could be disguised as games or simple zip files. If in doubt, ask your friend to prove it's really them.

2) Use two-factor authentication wherever possible. I didn't really know about this before today, so if you don't either read this. Two-factor authentication is offered by most social media sites, email services, and anything that uses banking or credit cards. All it is is if you enable it and then someone tries to access your account from your email that they stole from you they then have to also verify with a code sent to your phone. This means someone could steal your account, email, etc but still not be able to access it unless they also somehow stole your phone. Go into your account's security settings and find two-factor authentication and turn it on. It's not hard to do and it's free.

3) Keep your passwords safe and varied. If someone gets ahold of one of your social media accounts they'll probably have access to anything it's linked to. If you use the same password on all those accounts they can log in, change the password, and then turn your account into a spam zombie.

3b) Use Bitwarden to keep your passwords safe and varied. Bitwarden is free, but it's a little complicated and takes some getting used to. Basically Bitwarden can generate and store passwords for you for all your emails and websites. When you want to sign in somewhere you just use the Bitwarden extension to plug it in automatically. So now my passwords are 20 character long gibberishes, each one is different, and all I need to do to sign in somewhere is click the link on an extension on my browser. Not bad.

4) Use Authy as an alternative two-factor authentication tool. Also optional, and also somewhat complicated, instead of having to authenticate logins by sending you a text message you can just have an authentication tool like Authy (also free) generate codes to sign in with. They're encrypted and work even offline. A good option if your phone stops working and you need to sign in somewhere. I'm setting up all my two-factor authentications with both phone and Authy code options so I'm not likely to lose a password.

I consider myself a fairly smart guy and even I fell for this hack scam. They get your where your trust is, with friends and people you admire. Looking back I should have thought the words my friend was using seemed uncharacteristic, but I thought he was just in a funny mood. Don't let your guard down when someone, anyone, asks for a small favor that involves downloading a game or file of any kind.

TL;DR: new computer!

I've been really busy moving EVERYTHING from my old Macintosh to my new Windows PC. I dunno how much you guys are familiar with Macs, but you can guess it means I've had to spend literal DAYS familiarizing myself with a new operating system, configuring preferences, downloading applications, and reorganizing my files. I'm still not done but the bulk of it's out of the way now so you can start to expect my daily art streams again.

What's a new computer mean art wise? Well it means I can do Blender 3D modeling while streaming without anything slowing down. It also means I can do larger files in CSP including animation files WHILE streaming, so I plan to go back to animating very soon. In case you couldn't tell I love having an audience, so one of the reasons I avoided larger projects is cause they'd slow down my old computer while streaming. Not any more!

My third monitor is dark cause I'm waiting for a display port cord in the mail. I'm using a free third party app called One Commander to reorganize all my files. I've kinda allowed myself to play a bunch of games on Steam as a sort of celebration for having a computer that can actually run them, though I'm not normally much of a gamer and I'm already getting bored with them. I got surround sound installed so I can really jam now while I draw! This is also the same room I play VR in with all my bestest buddies.

What a change! What a month! I'm looking forward to September and getting used to my new rig which I've dubbed the Thresher. It's that solid black object under the desk. You can expect good things to come from me and the Thresher in the near future! Today's my birthday! I'm old!

A couple weeks ago I ordered computer parts for a whole huge new computer and I'm expecting to receive the last of them this week! If all goes well I'll have a fancy new rig ready to go by this weekend!

Which means:
1) High resolution art streams! No more blurry lines!
2) High resolution art! I no longer have to limit canvas sizes in CSP or Blender!
3) PC VR experience! I can finally see all your best avatars, visit all your best worlds, and attend all the best parties on VR Chat!
4) Games? I... technically don't care much about games but my old computer was a Mac so it's like a whole new realm of possibilities will be open to explore! I guess!

tl;dr: Simplified organization! High-res and exclusive content/sketches on Patreon ($1) and Early Access is my main attraction ($5). A different subject every month! For March I'll be doing another Youtube animation!

Here's how I'm organized now:

1) Everything I draw goes into a Dropbox folder that's available for Early Access patrons ($5). I update the folder every time I draw something, so basically every day.

2) After a month I make that folder available to High-Res patrons ($1).

3) I post some of that content throughout the month to social media in low-resolution. The stuff I don't post is technically Patreon exclusive, though I really don't mind if it does get shared or posted as long as early access is respected.

4) I'll make the whole folder of everything I drew that year available for everyone eventually, maybe at the end of the year.

5) Every month I change my focus. In January I reorganized my whole platform (this stuff), February I did tons of anatomy studies and commissions, and in March I'm going to make another Youtube animation. I never know what I'll be doing ahead of time and I can't promise content consistency... except that every month I'll be working hard on SOMETHING, whatever that is.

6) $10 patrons get bonus privileges based on whatever I'm working on that month, like sneak peeks on animations, first dibs on commission slots, special powers in stream comics, or other little influences.

7) $20 patrons can commission me any time they want. Everyone else has to either grab a slot on Patreon (if available) or catch me during a live stream.

3) Take professional online art courses at CGMA once I am no longer living off of savings. This will teach me advanced techniques that are more difficult to acquire single handedly.
4a) Build an art portfolio and find work as a full-time artist with the long term goal of being an animation director. Or if that proves too difficult:
4b) Ramp up the freelance. For example I could learn Blender for 3D modeling or just plain find new ways to draw Lucky for a living.

I'm still commuting a long ways and have very little time to draw. My union's in the middle of a strike which I've been helping to organize, but if all goes well the strike might be over by the end of this week or next.

The job I'm looking forward to allegedly starts in July now, pushed back by coronavirus and the incompetence of my employer (and by our striking) but I also fear they might try punishing me for my union activities by not giving me the position I want. If so I'll have to change companies, not a difficult task but one that takes a little time.

Nutshell about the strike: my company is run by a spoiled brat who thinks they can break policies, punish people for protesting, control workers with lies and threats, and pay us much, much less than any other construction trade. So uh yeah, we're fighting that.
