Posted 5 months agoHello everyone! First off, when the hell did I make it to 600 followers?! In any case, whether you lurk, fave, or comment on my submissions: thank you so much! I love seeing other people like what I throw money at :D
Speaking of money, I have some very strong advice for those who drive a vehicle, whether it's for personal use or for work: GET YOURSELVES A GOOD DASHCAM!
Without getting into too much detail, earlier last month, I was literally on my way to sell my second vehicle when a pickup truck backed into me while I was leaving a parking lot. Naturally, they tried to blame it on me, so I had to get the local police to take the report for insurance purposes. All I needed to do was show it to the responding officer and send the footage off to insurance. Long story short: I was, thankfully and rightfully, found NOT at-fault, and I honestly credit the dashcam footage for making the case truly open-and-shut. It has literally saved me from a fairly high deductible and higher insurance rates.
There's all the other BS that comes with dealing with auto insurance, but as of today my input on the matter is no longer needed. I learned a lot of lessons with this particular vehicle in the brief yet interesting time that I had it, both with the vehicle itself and everything surrounding it. Arguably, the most important being: GET A GOOD FUCKING DASHCAM.
ADDENDUM - 6-3-25
For those of you wanting my recommendations: I used a 2-channel Thinkware Q200 that I bought off of BlackBoxMyCar.com. The recordings are very clear; it works reliably even in the extremes of Midwestern weather; and they have a functional app for Apple and Android devices - shocking, I know. It also has Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) features, but I don't use them - I use it as a dashcam, straight-up. You don't necessarily need a 2-channel unit like mine, though there are some circumstances where that second channel will come in handy. I also had my unit hard-wired for parking recording, like if someone hits your car while the vehicle is fully off, and the base wires to do that come included (you'll need to be comfortable with pulling some interior trim pieces off and find a way to hook up ground, battery 12V, and accessory 12V to use it - I got some "Add-A-Fuse" leads for that). The web store itself is a great resource for dashcam research via their Youtube channel, and their shipping times are quite reasonable. All in all, well worth it.

Rebranding
Posted a year agoI've been kinda reneging on making this announcement, but alas, I'm putting all of my works on hiatus. Yes, that includes the stuff I haven't touched in years. Will I return to it? Maybe. Who knows. All I can say is, life is taking up too much of my time and effort to sustain my creative endeavors for now. Until then, I'll continue to put out little blurbs with the occasional commission I yeet at people, and I have a couple in the pipeline.

Why yes, it has in fact taken on the persona of my wah, Ozark. As I've mentioned when I first published Ozark's reference, 'AnotherDangerNoodle' I've felt to be more of the storytelling and content creation element of myself, best represented by Seemir Brandy the multiversal bartending cobra/python, and now I believe Ozark is the 'sona that best fits me as a person. And right now, since I already have a lot on the backlog, I'm just going to make this acknowledgment post and try to find a way to fulfill what I already have to do ;,..,;

Posted 2 years agoJust because I don't work in retail anymore, doesn't mean I'm exempt from the years' end rush. So alas, I have missed giving everyone Mer Crimmis and Nude Deere wishes. Accept these belated wishes instead <3
This past year was... honestly a wild ride. I finally moved out and am on my own which was the biggest goal I had. Looking ahead, I do want to get a better job this year as my primary goal, preferably something that takes advantage of my degree. It's not that I'm not happy with where I am (not entirely at least), but that I have bills to pay and there aren't as many opportunities this year as there were last. That would give the added benefit of being able to afford more comms, but let's be honest, furry comms are an atrocious investment lol
Secondarily, I'd like to get more practice in drawing and maaaaaaaaaaaybe dabble in 3D like I keep telling myself I should do. I'd just like to do more artsy stuff beyond writing stories that... inevitably get shelved for an indeterminate amount of time... Yeah, I know. I have unfinished work all over. I need to do something about that >,..,<
But hey, on the plus side, I can now celebrate having 300 submissions of garbage to this site. Whether or not it actually is garbage is up for debate. If y'all got any favorites, or have any ideas on what I should go for as far as comms are concerned, I'd love to hear them :D

Want for Worldbuilding (plus small life update)
Posted 2 years agoDue to new and exciting circumstances in my life, I'll need to quit buying commissions cold turkey. That might also leave little room for me to indulge in... well, what little writing I do these days. I know I keep putting a lot of that stuff off (some of which for, embarrassingly, a couple of years now), and I wish I had a time frame on when to deliver that. Beyond that, there's a couple of commissions I'm still waiting on, and at least one prior obligation I'm preallocating funds for, but all in all I think I need to demonstrate better financial responsibility. This isn't necessarily a bad thing - in fact, I've been meaning to get back into learning how to draw - but I think I need to get one of my OCs to pressure me into doing more things.
Until then, I may start yeeting some lore I had on my science fantasy setting, which I call the Omnai. The "science" part comes from the fact that there exists a metamaterial called mana, which helps explain certain dark matter and dark energy theories. Because of this, the "fantasy" part comes in the form of actually using mana, which is called "psionics" or "magic". There is, as one would expect, space flight, alien races, theoretical physics, celestial phenomena, a predecessor race, and more. Thing Dungeons and Dragons meets Star Trek or Mass Effect.
Some appetizers to consider:[list][*]Considering where my origins here as a writer come from: yes, there are macros in this setting. They won't be the main theme, but they do exist.
[*]There are lawless and unexplored areas of the galaxy where pirates and sleazy megacorps thrive. There's plenty of room for adventure.
[*]Sans humans, I have 11 races named, about half of which have lore documented. Among them are a race of space dragons, a race of taurs, A race of small yet crafty imps, and a race of starship-sized sapient space whales (try saying that five times fast :3c ). Yes, "furries" exist as actual anthros - otherwise I wouldn't be talking about it here :P
[*]Some basic ideas for some of the lore within the Terran Empire, humanity's interstellar territory, namely its history and the sectors that comprise it all.[/list]

That being said, I think I should do something for it. I'm currently writing the third chapter of the Harbinger origin stories, featuring the introduction of the last two American Harbingers! I'd like for this to be an opportunity to include one more person's OC in the series as a cameo!
If you'd like to have your OC be included in the third and final origin chapter of the Harbinger setting, either as another Harbinger fighting big mean Jaegars and helping to keep their fellow citizens safe, or even as an infatuated citizen being rescued or interacting with one of the ladies, comment below with a visual reference! I'll pick a name at random and note them when they become one of The Chosen Ones™️. EDIT: I forgot to give a time frame - this coming Saturday, August 6 at noonish Central US time

Posted 3 years agoNow that I finally have a source of decent income, I can finally acquire some more commissions from time to time. In fact, I already have paid for at least one and a couple more are in the planning stages, so stay tuned ;)
Okay, for the next bit. I'm thinking about putting together a collection of lore bits for my science fantasy setting. What are some specific things you want to learn about? Things like technology, pop culture, aliens, even politics and criminal masterminds.
In a similar vein, I'll also answer just about any questions you might have about the OCs I have art of in some form or fashion.

Happy Freedom Day, Personal Life Updates, and Travel Plan...
Posted 3 years agoFirst off, I know I'm almost 48 hours late, but I hope everyone had a good Freedom Day!
Second, some good news: I started another job today, one that I'm actually looking to [try to] keep for at least a little longer than a couple of months, especially since this one pays better and has *benefits*. Bad news is, I'm going to need to shift my priorities towards getting new living arrangements made. So for now, I have a couple of outstanding comms planned, some of them paid for, some that I've already allocated money for. Expect mostly more stories to come from me in the meantime.
Lastly, in a couple of months, I'll be going to a region of America I've never been to before: the Northeast! If anyone happens to live or has visited around that area and wants to suggest a few places like restaurants, museums, or landmarks, particularly around New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware, leave a comment and I'll see if I can go there!

I've been seriously neglecting my illustrative abilities, and so for Kaijune I'll be taking some prompts for Arehka, my mecha-kaiju concept. Sketches, most likely. I'm open to a variety of ideas, so long as she's the centerpiece. Sorry, I'm not taking requests to include others' OCs at this time.
Got a silly question to ask? A silly situation for her to be in? Let me know and I'll see if I can jot something down. ;)

It know it still ain't much but it's a nice number to see regardless, and it's a milestone I feel compelled to acknowledge one way or another. Alas, t'is a shame I really don't have any expendable monies at the moment. Otherwise I'd seek someone out, yeet monies at them, and tell them I'm celebrating 10k page views and need porn of it. So I guess the next best thing will be to do it myself.
Knowing just how shite my track record is in delivering content that isn't a commission these days, I don't want to get anyone's hopes up by promising to do something and not delivering. That being said, in a first for me, I'll be opening up a small raffle for either a short story or a colored illustration (your choice) featuring an OC of yours with two of mine - any gender, any species; I have enough of a cast to fill any role.
To be considered, you must be watching me on FA and leave a comment on this journal with your choice of medium and either a description or a link to a reference of your preferred OC. I will leave it open until next Thursday at noon US Central Standard Time and announce and note a winner shortly after.

Good news: even with my liberal yeeting of monies (as well as a handful of expected openings already earmarked), I'll still have enough to last for a little bit - assuming I stop being so liberal with yeeting monies. :P
The tl;dr without getting too personal is that this overnight job I've had for the last six or so months has been taking a mental toll on me, and I've decided I value my mental health more than a biweekly paycheck. It's gonna suck, yes, but it'll have to suck more before it gets decent.
So... I guess expect more drawings and stories from me in the coming days?

I literally just set this up, so I have virtually nothing aside from some personalization and a handful of other profiles I follow. From this point forward I will be advertising new commissions (through direct uploads and retweets, where possible), drawings (including doodles I decide to publish), and story links. I will treat it as strictly an advertising and communication platform and, unlike 90 percent of the Twittersphere, I will NOT be blasting out any hot takes from recent events.
My opinions about Twitter, and social media in general, are that of a necessary evil. I understand that in order to gain a wider audience, I need to take advantage of where the highest traffic is at, and FurAffinity just isn't equipped to do that. On the plus side, that does mean I'll be able to take advantage of artists who conduct business exclusively on Twitter, so maybe expect a wider variety of artists?

I will treat it as strictly an advertising and communication platform and, unlike 90 percent of the Twittersphere, I will NOT be blasting out any hot takes from recent events.
My opinions about Twitter, and social media in general, are that of a necessary evil. I understand that in order to gain a wider audience, I need to take advantage of where the highest traffic is at, and FurAffinity just isn't equipped to do that. On the plus side, that does mean I'll be able to take advantage of artists who conduct business exclusively on Twitter, so maybe expect a wider variety of artists?

State of my affairs
Posted 3 years agoFirst off, as we all know, Ukraine is being invaded by Russia. Acknowledging and commenting on current events is not something I tend to do, mainly due to the political or religious clout that polarizes people to an obscene degree, but I think we can all agree that what Russia (or, more specifically, the Russian 'dictatorship') is doing is fucked up. Being invaded is definitely not something you want to hear happening to anyone. And as much as I'd like to offer more than just words of encouragement, unfortunately that's all I can do. So to that end: to any and all Ukrainian furs who happen to come across this journal at this time, know that I and the rest of the world are rooting for you and we hope as many of you are okay as possible.
With that out of the way, I thought I'd let y'all know things are slowly resuming as far as my drawings and writings are concerned. I'm making some decent progress on the next chapter of the Harbingers origins series, which will introduce two more Harbingers and explain some lore more applicable to the modern era. I get asked from time to time, as well, about the future of Lattices, which is easily my most anticipated story. I want to go on record and say I do want to do more work, but it's highly circumstantial when I feel motivated for it.
Until something else is ready, I'm busy making poor financial decisions by yeeting monies at random internet strangers to make me art of my OCs doing OC things. I'm waiting on one that's expecting arrival any day now, another to send me a WIP, a couple more artists to open up, and ideas to solidify for a couple more. If anyone has any idea of artists I haven't checked out that are able to do macro, intersex, and/or "well-endowed" characters, are relatively easy to get ahold of (note: I don't have a Facebook, Twitter, or Patreon, so it'd be limited to FA notes or Discord), and don't cost an arm and a leg for a full render or something close to it, I'm all ears!

murr crimmis - and New Year's Resolutions
Posted 4 years agoFirst of all: Merry Christmas, Happy Hannakuh, Wonderful Kwanzaa, or whatever it is you celebrate at this time of year - hope you have a happy holiday season!
Second, I despise having to put my IRL drama out on a more public forum, buuuuuuuuuut for the sake of my current audience I feel compelled to make a small confession.
Unbeknownst to all but probably the closest of my friends, I am 99 percent certain I have some form of moderate depression. Seems to come with the territory, from what I've seen, but hey, I'm not one to judge. So for my New Year's resolutions, I'm not looking to get fit, I don't want some outstanding status at work, or, hell, even try to achieve some kind of artistic accomplishment. I just wanna not feel sad, bitter, envious, spiteful, etc all the time. So at my earliest convenience, I'll look into my options for psychiatric help. Maybe I just need someone to talk things over; maybe I need something more intensive. Whatever the case may be, it's clear to me that things won't improve unless I do something about it, and I intend on making 2022 the year I finally get around to fixing that part of me.
So what does that mean for my presence here? At best, nothing. I'll continue to put something out, whether it'd be a comm, some literature, or a drawing, once every other blue moon like usual. At worst, it may be a while before I make a return in some form or fashion. I know, I've already announced some kind of temporary departure before. I hate doing that, I really do, but sometimes shit happens.

Oh sh!t, 100+ submissions!
Posted 4 years agoLittle did I realized I uploaded my 100th submission to here just a couple of days prior. What a momentous milestone for me.
Anyways, I figured I oughta give an update to the people who don't know me outside of FA. First, employment prospects are looking up, and in the meantime I finally have a means of decent income. I'll of course be prioritizing life's expenses first, but do expect a couple more commissions in the coming weeks. Second, I've decided to restore an old drawing slate I've had forever by ordering some replacement nibs, and I hope to get started on more digital drawings when that happens. Third, I'm thinking about expanding my proverbial boundaries as a writer, and by that I mean I'm going to explore genres besides macro shenanigans. That doesn't mean I'm abandoning my existing projects - just that I might spend more time 'sandboxing' new ideas and seeing how to best apply them in my existing work. Rome wasn't built in a day, after all.
In particular, I'm considering writing more stories, drawing more pictures, and getting more commissions set within my 'Omnai' science fantasy setting. There's loads of potential for both SFW and NSFW content of all kinds... and yes, that also includes macro content. It's a setting I've had in mind for well over five years now, in some shape or form, and I'd be privy not to let it be sidelined.

Not dead or forgotten
Posted 4 years agoIt's been a while since I last said anything, I know. Unfortunately, personal things have been holding me back, and I still won't have anything up for the foreseeable future. I do intend on returning to writing, doodling, and throwing money at people I like, but when is another question. Another month? Two months? Who knows.
All I know is that I can't start Snektember without at least acknowledging it. I should probably do something for this wonderful month. I mean, as someone whose 'fursona' is a snake, it'd be embarrassing if I didn't have something...
To my other existing watchers: bless you for putting up with my silence. And to all of you who've recently started watching me: hello there! I'm flattered you find my content worthy of your attention, even if my last update was a few months ago, and thank you so much for your time!

Anyways, I'm not dead [yet] but I figured I'd let people know I'm still chugging away at projects. I'm looking to publish the first chapter to what I hope is an exciting new macro setting hopefully this week, progress on other projects in dire need of an update, and perhaps write a few more macro-based short stories in the meantime, some in established settings and some most likely being standalone.
But right now my priority is on sketching. I'm doing at least one doodle per day and an involved sketch every other week; hopefully I can bump that up to every week in due time.
