Messages & Writing
Posted 6 months agoI got a few messages while I was gone, many of which asked if I was okay, where I was, and why I didn't write. (Get it?) They were very sweet, and I read them all, but I'm physically incapable of composing a response quickly, so for energy conservation, I'ma do that here.
I was okay, just on a lengthy break from all things social media. Maybe I was also a little bit more upset at the Patreon shutdown than I thought. I wasn't very far, but I was purposefully avoiding logging on or reading messages or anything. I just didn't feel like it, anymore. I honestly still don't know if I do, now. I'd forgotten what a bother it is to merely post stuff. Ugh. I think I'm going to try this in a more casual fashion, no longer trying to build up to anything. See how that goes.
I think I'm done writing for free. I would've loved it if it was possible to put neat little stories out there, and to have enough people who read them and want more, giving a few bucks so the whole thing is viable, but it simply doesn't work. At least, not at my current scale. There are those lovely people who give, for sure, but there's not enough of them in the world. It's too easy to get something for free, and do nothing. I know that firsthand, so I can't play the blame game. Thus, aside from commissions, I've been thinking of crowdfunding, for when I feel like working on my own projects. I'd present my story plans, then let folks chip in if they're interested, so I'm guaranteed to get paid for my writing when a goal is met. If I could find a few hundred people willing to contribute a dollar or two a pop for my stories, it might be a workable solution to avoid pure paywalls, or selling e-books on fucking Amazon. It would have the added benefit of freeing me from the subscription-style pressure to produce non-stop "content", which I disliked intensely on Patreon. I loathe "content". I don't want to make "content". I want to love my own art. Anyway, I might give that a shot, starting with very short stories to gauge interest, perhaps commissioning pictures to go with the stories for higher goals, etc.
Aside from that, I hope you all enjoy the new story, and thanks for the kind messages!

Patreon going down
Posted 3 years agoWelp, I guess this doesn't come as a complete shock to me.
A few days ago, as I was writing to a supporter on Patreon, the messaging system seemingly crashed. I couldn't see if my message had successfully been sent, nor could I even read previous messages sent to my creator account, including the one to which I was responding. At first it seemed par for the course, as the Patreon messaging system has never been anything if not hilariously unreliable.
This time, it wasn't the usual, however, as my account had been suspended for violating the community guidelines, for posting adult stories involving rough non-consensual fantasies and kinks. I thought the messaging system crash was simply a problem that had occurred due to my attempt to send a message right as my account was being suspended. After a few days of talking to the Patreon staff, it turned out that it was on purpose. Apparently, part of the suspension is to prevent the suspended creator from reaching to their own patrons to explain the situation. A classy end. That, for once, made me angry. A rare occurrence, and so I had to take a few days before I wrote about it, so as not to say anything mean.
The loss of the Patreon account isn't a significant blow for me, financially, since my platform was super tiny. No worries there. I was merely using it as a donation platform for those readers that wished to support me when I'm working on my own personal projects, such as Alliance, Silvergate, Temple Bloom, or single stories like Wolves in Winter. These stories that I write for free, and for fun, but that still require a hell of a lot of time and effort. I liked the Patreon. I liked having a special place for my handful of supporters. I'll miss that, and I'll always be especially grateful to them, to you, if you were one of them, regardless of how long you stayed a patron. For the money, sure, but much more for the intent behind it. The sense that people were willing to give hard-earned dollars to help me write more. That felt amazing. To those that were Gold Guests when the Patreon ended, I'd like to offer the 10% discount on commissions permanently, as a special thank you for being there with me during that phase. The special place in my heart, though, that extends to all my patrons regardless of tier. <3
I'm not upset at Patreon for their choice of guidelines, or at whoever probably flagged my account. I understand that NC stories can be scary, and they simply followed through logically with the social current of assuming that cultural artifacts have a direct impact on behaviors. I can't prove without a doubt that my rough stories don't have some kind of nebulous ill effect on society. I genuinely don't think they do anymore than, say, enjoying the John Wick movies will make you a murderer for "glorifying violence". This is because stories and fantasies are meant to exist in a frame that we know is divorced from reality, and is meant to indulge us. Only we, as social animals, get to take our impulses and fascination for power dynamics, and turn them into play, into imaginary scenarios that we can share for fun, to explore our sexuality, and get to know our desires where it's safe, without judgment. I will always believe it's healthy to know oneself; to avoid self-repression, while always caring to keep in mind what belongs in the realm of fantasy, from what belongs in the real world. That is what it means to be an adult, to trust and accept oneself. It doesn't matter if one has sadistic, or masochistic fantasies, or very, very likely in my personal opinion, both. Humans are obsessed with social hierarchies, dominance, submission. It's a thing we're hardwired for. Best accept it. You're normal. These things just typically go unspoken.
That being said, I understand the opposite position, that indulging and getting to explore these feelings is too risky, and they should just be taboo forever, never to be toyed with. I strongly disagree, and I think it's unhealthy, but I get it. It's a valid argument, and it deserves respect. But I'll write what I want to write. I won't pretend that dark scenarios of vulnerability and humiliation that would be nightmarish in reality aren't arousing within the safe arms of fiction and imagination, when I know damn well that they are. I'm curious about that. I want to know why, and how it works, and what's so hot about it. And yes, I do want to play with it. For fun. I have more to say about this, but right now isn't the time.
Anyway, I'll permanently unlaunch my Patreon page before the end of the month, just in case the suspension might mess something up and still allow for patrons to be charged. Given the technical abilities of the Patreon staff... that's like 50-50 chance, I'd assume. I'll also try to figure out a new way to gather my very special, very precious readers. Maybe a Discord channel or something? Not sure how that would work. I'll look into that.
That's about it for the moment. Have a good one folks!

Silvergate & Banked Stories
Posted 4 years agoHello everyone!
If you were in the know already, you probably expected this a while ago, but there it is now. After lengthy preparations, often interrupted by other projects and writing opportunities, after banking several stories for posting while I'll be busy, I've begun the body of the writing for the next Silvergate novel. I estimate it should be around the same length as the first story, roughly 80 000 words, in ten to twelve chapters, though of course, initial plans often change during writing.
Truth is, lately, I've had to get used to working on multiple projects at the same time -- something that I always avoided in the past -- and I guess it doesn't scare me as much as it used to. Occasionally things just happen that way and you have to adapt the way you work. <.< Anyway, this means that I may go ahead and take additional commissions once progress on Silvergate has picked up some steam, and I feel comfy doing so, so it won't slow down the writing too much. My focus will be on the novel though. Even if the first part stands on its own very well, this is a tale for which I've always had these additional ideas that I'm now very eager to add.
This means that those special super secret commissions I've been working on can finally be released! Yay! There are four banked stories: three commissions and one from me alone. The first of these will be released very soon, and then the other three stories will each be posted at 25%, 50% and 75% of the project complete. Because at 100%, it's the novel chapters that I'll start releasing. Duh.
The first banked story is the follow-up commission to An Obedient Fall, so make sure to check it out if you enjoyed the first part, and wanted to read more about the sexy downfall of our imprudent leonid adventurer at the hands of those nasty, nasty croc bandits. >=)
As always, thank you all for the amazing response to my work! The favs, comments and notes are always incredibly motivating! Well, mostly the comments and notes, but I won't lie! Lots of favs and watches feels very good too! <3
Have a sweet day!

Stories & Art
Posted 5 years agoHey you! Yes, you, individual reading this!
Hi. =3
First off, to update what I said in my last journal -- ages ago -- about the sci-fi story concerning a dragon bounty hunter, that project has been shelved. The story had tone problems. I wasn't happy with it, and I decided to work on other things until I figured out how to fix it. That'll probably not happen soon, at this point, because I want to focus on developping a few ongoing series before I begin new personal projects. That's not counting commissions, for obvious reasons.
Following this logic, I'm happy to announce that Temple Bloom 2 is fully written! The early draft is already up for patrons of my Patreon to give them a little while to read it and let me know what character they'd like to see abducted next. The final version will be posted here for everyone to read in a few days or so, when that's done. So you can look forward to that if you enjoyed the first one.
In further (hopefully) good news, I'm beginning work on the follow-up to Alliance! This is something that I've been meaning to do for some time, and it'll be finished... at some point in the future. xD This is one project to which I'm quite attached, so I'm inclined to take my time with it. Heh.

Did you read Silvergate? Would you like to see some of its characters, I mean, with your actual eyes? (!!!)
Some absolutely delightful fanart featuring Lackey, Battlehammer, Cane and Meleth was created by
nimrax13
The very first fanart I've ever received. =') Almost cried when I saw it! I love it! Thank you so much, buddy! I'm not sure I'll ever love a picture in quite the same way I love this one. <3
Anyway, hurry and check it out! The Black Guards have never been so mind-blowingly cute and wholesome! xD
And that is all I had to say for now. Take care!

Commissions & Next story
Posted 6 years agoHello everyone!
As you may or may not know, I've accepted my first commission recently, to try it out, and see if it was my thing. Seeing as it has been a fun and fulfilling experience on my end, I've decided to open for commissions again! So if you have a story idea you'd like to see me tackle, don't be shy and talk to me. I thrive with lengthy, messy plots that require a lot of setup, but if you're reading this, odds are you already have a good idea of what my writing style is like. If not, check out my gallery! =)
My price range begins at 60$ US for 2,000 words, and increases for longer and more complex stories. For adult-oriented stories, I love themes related to power play -- obviously -- and also vanilla romance. (Weird, I know, but that's how it is. XD) I like to explore new things, though.
If you're interested and want additional information, feel free to send me a message, or to read this overly-detailed document I've just placed in my scraps.
Talk to me about trades. I might be interested.
With Silvergate slowly nearing its end, I think I will be working on a few standalone stories for a time, as those seem to attract new readers quite a bit more than ongoing series that require a daunting commitment in time to get into. In retrospect, I think I may have begun to post Silvergate a tad too soon. Writing a few shorter, simpler texts could give more of a chance for people who'd like my kinds of themes to discover my page. ^^
As a result, I'll put the planned follow-ups to ESF and Silvergate on ice, for the moment.
The story I'm working on right now will be a space travel sci-fi story about a dragon bounty hunter getting luckier than he would've ever imagined, and having to make a really hard decision as a consequence. It'll explore predation as a main theme, and I think it'll be very interesting. It'll be titled Damaged Vectors.
Don't forget to support me on Patreon -- you know -- if you'd like to. =D
If not, one time donations via the shiny system would also be pure awesome. It means a lot when someone's prepared to give even a small amount of real money to encourage my efforts.
If not, but you'd still like to brighten my day, favorite and comment! Favorites make a marked difference for the visibility of my stories. Comments just warm my heart.
Alright, that's it for now. Take it easy, y'all.

Next story
Posted 6 years agoIt's been almost two weeks since Eight seconds flat was released, and I think the time has come to start talking about -- and attempt to hype up -- my second story.
(I'm not counting All in because it was a spur of the moment thing, and not really an official AG project.)
A silvergate story will be a pornographic fantasy novel written from a first-person perspective, following the misadventures of a canine mercenary hero as he fails to stop an invading army of felines and reptiles raised from nearby "barbarian" regions. The barbarian leader, however, has conquest in mind rather than destruction, so our protagonist will have to... adapt... to this new order. If it lasts...
The novel will be darker in tone than ESF, by a significant margin. While I always write stories in a way that I think won't make them too hard to read, it seems fair to provide warning. The first-person protagonist will go through some difficult times.
There'll be some magic, some medieval-realm politics, some philosophy, epic battles, an ancient legendary artifact, a reptile in a dominant position -- cause, hey, I'm writing it -- and even more good stuff!
In the meantime, I plan to regularly release very short (about 2,000 words) teasers to introduce a few characters and the story setting.
Have a guestful day.

Stories, fiction, and also texts!
Posted 6 years agoSo, I've been meaning to write a series of sexy stories exploring power differentials for some time, and, whadd'ya know, I did.
The first one, titled Eight seconds flat, is finished and will be available right here! Part 1 should be right there in my gallery, already, as you read this, and part 2 will be up in one week, next sunday, unless you don't want to wait and decide get the whole thing right now plus a bonus secret third part by becoming my Patron on Patreon!
https://www.patreon.com/A_G
If you've already read ESF, and are wondering when you'll get access to more awesome, sexy stories, I've got you covered. I'm already 60,000 words into my next story. It'll be huge. There will still be a reptile in it. I'll keep you posted.
Remain Guestly at all times.
