Update on me
Posted a year agoFor those who like the little snippets of the music video it is still a thing. There is life of course but most of the problem getting me to work on it is I'm at a spot where there aren't many little shortcuts like before. So the delay currently is the same delay other animators hit. Doing the actual work and tweaking it with yes number of frames left to go. There's good reason animations over a few seconds aren't handed out like candy by creators.
State of the Fox
Posted a year agoSo really started making some progress animating and then body decided to go bad on me. Not sure if it was bad allergy or something food related but sinus and belly been bad enough last night I called into work. Haven't done anything today but lay around. Should be back to things by tomorrow.
Status of the fox
Posted a year agoAs with most old folks life's been interesting and I'm just now getting back to animating on the music video. So yeah I'm still around, video is still being worked on it's just on a merry go round of projects that keeps spinning. Feel free to say hi and ask things (ack! social interaction!) Also it's the wet part of spring and the wife swears I'm a plant. Please come back sun I need energy!
HI followers!
Posted 2 years agoWhere have I been this last while. Outside of life shenanigans I'm still animating. Current clip is pinned on my Tumblr https://www.tumblr.com/blog/foxerfox. Right now I'm working on getting blonde bunny over to the steps for the end of the lyric animating on twos. Which means skipping a frame between poses instead of moving the character every single frame. Hows that speeding things along? *looks at number of frames left to go. It's...going at least.
Chewing along
Posted 2 years agoSo the last few segments to fill in the song's time line are progressing. Enough that I've flitted back and fourth between them and already tweaking things in existing parts. Finished video is still a good bit out but I'm just about to the nit pick and fiddle with the small stuff. And of course life hauls me off when it wants to to but usually I can still slip in working on a few frames or other small things.
Update for video
Posted 2 years agoHey all, there will be another wip video post soonish just got to finish rendering out and get it into the video editor.
Video progress
Posted 3 years agoWith so many segments set up I began to start rendering them out to get a feel for editing things together and see where things need polish. Funnily enough my desktop kept crashing after about ten frames of anything, rendering individual tiffs as numbered stills for import to Premiere. Most lyric segments are anywhere from 120 to over 300 frames. After a week of frustration I start looking into if maybe 3Delight is better than Iray, it's on a forum post about the two Daz Studio renderers I find that Iray is purely NVIDA and doesn't work with AMD.
Now my desktop has a Nvida card but the processor is AMD Radeon with graphics. So I head into advanced options and see that there's checkboxes with Nvida and cpu. So uncheking the AMD CPU it suddenly stops crashing. Still got a long ways to go but every little bit gets me closer. I want to grab that tumbler meme because, "Was someone going to tell me Iray is graphic card specific or was I suppose to learn it through a forum post."

AMV work
Posted 3 years agoSo at points in time I've been working on making an animated music video to Leaving Tonight by The Birthday Massacre. I can't remember when I started (still was using Poser 9 and the Peaches models by LadyLittleFox) or how long it's been but I've recently been making more segments and updating some older ones. So far I have "assets" for up to the lyrics "eyes turn grey like her face in the paper" but the only thing really "finished" is the intro up till the lyrics start. Everything else is sort of at test renders. Sort of tempted to try making an animatic but more likely to just keep chugging till done and ready. I'm so pleased with my animating and progress recently I thought I'm mention it.
WIP coming I swear
Posted 3 years agoSo I've been wanting to post a WIP for a bit now. I finally tried rendering but for whatever reason it keeps crashing out. One way or another I'll have something up soon.
Hello watchers
Posted 4 years agoJust to fill the time until I can get back to making the next image: What pulled you in and made you click that watch feature? What's the best you think I've done and what would you like to see come out in the future?
New character coming up.
Posted 4 years agoGot one more character before I try and make a scene with them. Pose and everything is done and ready for turntable I just have to finagle the camera settings to get the focus right. That or increase the time the renderer has to run before being considered done. For everything that's made easy by purchasing or downloading assets there's still the hard long process of making it look good.
3D News
Posted 4 years agoUltimately I think I'll remain with Daz Studio due to the amount of versatility around the Genesis figures and the fact the program was free for me and continues to be updated. While it seems to do fine opening most of my Poser 9 content sometimes things get a little janky and I wished Flash still was enabled so I could use Poser 9 to view some of my creations as they were to perhaps recreate or fix things In Daz. Also I know how to setup a figure in Poser while Daz Studio still seems to be making documentation on the matter. So the point of this ramble is yesterday I got Flash to work again on both my Windows 10 computers. If I need to or want to go back to Poser 9 it's a relief that I can still access the source material.
It seems the main thing is to uninstall the "Security Update for Adobe Flash" from windows update and installing Flash. Having an independent browser that doesn't care about Flash, such as Pale Moon, may help but I'm not sure if the Library is somehow using Flash through browser or if it's just using Flash straight up. I'm not about to test it. If you need Flash to view something that isn't updated you can go to Doll Divine and follow their links and instructions. If you have a program that used Flash but not really in a browser context getting rid of the windows update mentioned goes a long way.

Current life and future plans
Posted 8 years agoI just moved into a house. Sure it's rent to own but still it's lower than the rent I was paying which takes a lot of stress off when the job I've had for only two years decides to leave. At least now I can work anywhere and should still make payment on time. Soon as things settle down I'm possibly looking to try redoing old art and posting a then and now series.
Little bit better little bit worse.
Posted 10 years agoSo finally got Lyra all set up used Crossdresser to convert what I hoped was the complete outfit I wanted to try on her. Turns out they just have the glove I was wanting to use and not the skirt or top. Still just to have some clothes on her I conformed them all to her and thought about pose and expression till I felt like looking for the skirt I wanted. then I found out that the expression morphs weren't doing anything which is irksome. But at least they simply didn't do anything instead of going all spiky and shooting off.
A little bit of cheese to go with my whine.
Posted 10 years agoOutside of Poser I'm getting the hooves to match the body morphs on the My Little Anthro Pony. That's where the whine comes in. I decided I'd try throwing Lyra together and throw an outfit idea I'd been thinking on and the figure files I used on the previous images are gone. I've only found like the scene file with Twilight but without the geometry file and all it's still as good as gone. I'm so tired of stuff just disappearing at random over time.
Yay, little bit of an update. I got the old laptop this one replaced (and was suppose to have been entirely copied over to this one) and found the files still existing there. So now they're on my external backup, this HD and if I remember further copied onto my desktop in case this happens again.

So it must be a blue moon for me to post.
Posted 10 years agoStill got the anthro ponies on the side line. Just have to match the hocks up to the rest of the body morphs and yay different body shapes. Also still working on the plethora of textures for the Halo models I've downloaded or pulled from CE or Garry's Mod getting them close to a cell shaded feel.
Hello Watchers!
Posted 11 years agoIf you still watch me actively or watched me recently I ask: What did you see that made you decide to watch, what was best about it, what (if anything) wasn't up to par about it? If you've browsed the gallery anything else you'd like to critique?
Questions, suggestions, comments, feedback and the like...
Posted 12 years agoSince I've been hitting the 3d medium rather hard thought I'd take suggestions or questions about it or anything in my gallery. I know I'm getting a following in watches and favorites and I want to hear back from people and maybe get some ideas to store for when I'm stuck/wanting to work on something else and let something sit for awhile. Shoot even a hello and what made you like something will be appreciated :D
Free time where art thou
Posted 12 years agoWell, life has been slightly busy and chaotic this summer. Been doing contract work in my degree field. Working to graduate this spring and actually have a adjunct teaching job next semester and I get to teach 3ds max. Still can't leave wally world, even if I was given five classes to teach, but at least I'll have a rocking resume. Wife might be lucking into a good work from home job so I'm crossing my fingers I might can quit the pit of doom and just teach. Prattle aside I'm working on a music video and so far aside from the stage I'm going through lyric line by lyric line setting up the singing animation. Despite the helpful programs/plugins for doing that with audio backed up by text they are not meant for audio that has more than speech. So I'm having to trim the song down to just the current lyric and play through each part of the words to move the 'phoneme' to match about where it should be and not the programs best guess. For images I really should finish armoring up Urtha and find an outfit for Cas so I can have her chasing him for the Coon Hammer Run theme. Also there is a school girl themed one coming soon as I finish background character population.
About 3d created art...
Posted 12 years agoHello fellow artists and watchers! Since putting up my last image and having two favorites within under a minute I've been pondering. What are your views about 3d generated art and how long it takes to make an image? How does that compare to traditional media in your mind? Where would it be easier and where would the hangups be? Be interesting to compare what is generally thought to what actually is.
Plant a little bug.
Posted 13 years agoAnybody reading this and knows somebody that draws MLP plant this little bug. Pony "Diamond Tiara" Song "Angel is the centerfold." Let me know the results.
Oh, look, a journal!
Posted 13 years agoWell, after those five years of college and a few of full time work I finally figured out that my art is a hobby as it should be. That being said I don't regret it. A B.S in Art shows that I had the staying power to complete a degree. And a sense of form and composition does help with my next degree Computer Aided Design, Mechanical. Oh, and both degree programs have introduced me to 3d programs that have me still fiddling with modeling and animation on the side. So will there be any more art going up? Yes, as it gets completed or I decide it's worthy of putting up here. Between finishing up this new degree, a summer internship and returning to Wal-Mart when that ends I'm going to be my usual slow self about getting away from the computer. That and how scatter shot I work on traditional and 3dprojects.

Maybe making prints and series.
Posted 17 years agoStarting with the works in progress on two versions of Drawing the Circle each with the character either having glasses or without. Give them a once over and let me know what you think if opinions good enough once they're colored in I'll have them up for sale. I've gotten a request after showing around to do an Egyptian priestess lioness so I may just begin a religious series covering the various philosophies.
