To quote Bad Religion...
General | Posted 18 years agoLos Angeles is burning....well some parts...and not so much the city, as much as some surrounding areas + San Diego.
I'm still hanging in there, as I'm not really affected beyond having my eyes being stung by smoke in the air.
My thoughts do go out to those who aren't as fortunate, and hopefully with the end of the Santa Ana winds we've been having, no more homes will be lost.

I promise there will be more furry art up here again! Promise!!! I honestly haven't had much of a chance to sketch personal stuff lately...cuz of school, and, well late night halo 3 sessions -_-
Speaking of games, I soooo want the Orange Box. My bf has it and it looks quite delicious.

2. I'm gonna be 21.
3. Halo 3 comes out on my birthday. <3
Rawk on!

General | Posted 18 years agoHello all. It's been literally a week since I've last had a chance to get back here. I'm working on some stuff as we speak and should have new things up soon. ^^
Just figured I'd pop back on here and take a look at the digital tumbleweeds drifting across my page.

Two Worlds Blows
General | Posted 18 years agoTwo Worlds...what a disappointment you were. My dreams of having Oblivion + multiplayer have been dashed due to your outrageous lag and general bugginess.
And what's up with the voice acting in this game? And poorly synced animations?
Ah well. Stranglehold is fun my mate tells me. I think my crappy rented copy of Two Worlds may be just good enough to exchange for a much better copy of John Woo goodness.

Labor Day!
General | Posted 18 years agoWooo no school tomorrow ^^
First week of school down...I think uh...16 or something more to go to the end of the semester. I have no idea. That's bad haha.
Anyways, I already have plenty of work to do, including work in...Maya!!! I've never used Maya before and its an introductory course, and I'm pretty excited about getting started.
As for tomorrow, I'm going to sleep.

School...
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, summer's over for me. *sigh*
School starts Monday. At least I had a pretty full summer- had a chance to work on alot of art for myself, including 3D stuff, as well as relax- something that I'm not gonna have much of a chance to do until December break.
Other achievements this summer:
Had a job for awhile, got my own xbox 360, went to the east coast for a week for my cousin's wedding, joined Fur Affinity <3, not to mention a lot of personal growth along the way.
Four months go by soooo damn fast....

Bioshock
General | Posted 18 years agoI rented it today, and my mate bought it. I highly recommend this game...but not that it needs me to spread any more hype around. I love the art deco style combined with the genuine creepiness of the atmosphere. Love it!
Also looking forward to Stranglehold coming out in...a week, I think? I really enjoyed the demo, if only for the simple reason that I liked having everything around me explode and having large items crash on my opponents' heads. I'm not too hard to please I guess.
Also coming out- I think the same week unless I'm horribly mistaken?- is a game called Two Worlds. My first impression of this game based on the trailer was that it was a blatant ripoff of Oblivion, and while in some regards I still think it looks a bit TOO similar, it still seems neat- plus there'll be a co-op option or so I've heard. Probably not one to buy, but a definite rental.
Why does school have to start right when the good games come out? Why?!
PS Halo 3 comes out on my birthday. ^^

Art Whores...literally
General | Posted 18 years agoNow THIS is an amusing study: http://www.collegian.psu.edu/archiv.....virginity.aspx Of course, like most studies of these sorts I usually write them off as mostly irrelevant...but this is still intriguing to me. Not so much the part about virginity supposedly being linked to one's IQ...but the little graphic in the upper right corner showing virginity broken down by college major is what got me.
At first look, there's nothing too startling to be found there. Neuroscientists sure like to put out more than your average science nerd...hmmm. But direct your attention to the far left entry in the graph: Studio Art. 0 Virgins.
Let's read that again. 0% virginity.
As an art student, well...I guess I'm not that surprised. And being an art student in the fur community must make me twice the slut :3
So are all art students whores? Discuss.

Hot Fuzz...
General | Posted 18 years agoKicks ass. Enough said. I just picked up the DVD today. Am I alone in thinking that Nick Frost is a sexy beast?
History Channel....why???
General | Posted 18 years agoYou've all heard the news recently, right? About the bridge in MN. It's horrible, I understand, and my heart goes out to all those involved....
BUT....
Why must the history channel interrupt its regular scheduling to put in a documentary called "Why Bridges Collapse" or something like that- an hour-long program on the history of bridges collapsing across America.
The History Channel is one of the only TV channels I watch on a regular basis, and I gotta say this is a bit disappointing. Although they did do the same after Katrina, if I recall correctly...like every other channel at the time as well.
Channels exploiting the disaster of the week for ratings hikes make me sad :(

1 month until school...
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, my summer job ended and I have about a month until school starts up again. That should give me plenty of time to work on stuff for school. Heck, I haven't TOUCHED After Effects since I left class...>.<
Me needs to draw more and do more modeling...as well as get around to that whole After Effects thing since I have a whole whopping 3 credit class on the subject...wooo.
Anyone have any neat ideas of things (animations, cool viz effects type stuff) that I could try in After Effects...any links to really good tutorials would be appreciated as well. :)
thanks!

Pinata Addict
General | Posted 18 years agoI've been away, being lazy...only doing a few new sketches. Bad, bad serval. What's going on? I just bought Viva Pinata and I am addicted I swear. How can a simple kid's game be like so much tasty crack on a sandwich? Hopefully I can pry myself away soon so I can post some new stuff and continue working on my stuff for school...must...not...visit..garden...pinatas...
Newtgats are cute but they don't like my lickatoads :(

1000...
General | Posted 18 years ago...pageviews...yay!
Imagine if each page view represented a donut. Now imagine each one of those donuts being fed to a hungry lion with a sweet tooth.
At least, that's how I like to look at it ;)
This WAS about 999 pageviews...but I was too slow!
Thank you everyone!

General | Posted 18 years agoI'm sorry I haven't had the chance yet to personally thank everyone who has favorited and watched my stuff lately...but trust me, I DO appreciate it greatly!

Don't trust them squirrels, Edna...
General | Posted 18 years agoSo I went hiking today in Solstice Canyon in Malibu, a nice park right on the coast, since I got an urge to go out without dying due to heatstroke in the valley (temps today were over 100 degrees, and in true southern California fashion it was a nice 85 degrees on the coast).
I had a great time, ran into someone I hadn't seen since high school that I had briefly dated *weiiiird* and saw some critters too. I spotted a couple of California Newts, which are, as I understand, a threatened state protected species. Not long after that, I saw a few deer grazing off the trail- and I've never seen deer at Solstice Canyon before.
The highlight of the trip, however, was the squirrel that kept following me. He (or she?) seemed intrigued by my camera (shiny!!!) and started following me along the trail, jumping from tree to tree. Unless my ex decided to pull a cruel prank on me by stuffing my backpack full of peanuts while I wasn't looking, it seemed pretty inexplicable. At least I managed to snap a few pics of him before he at last got distracted by a walnut tree off the trail.
Here's the little guy checking out my camera:

Back from Vacation
General | Posted 18 years agoGot back a couple of days ago from my trip to the east coast (Virginia and upstate New York). Went to a wedding, swam in a lake, saw some Amish people. Had Amish people scowl at my camera even though I wasn't taking pictures of them (I swear!). You know the deal.
I didn't draw alot during the trip because I was waaay too busy, and always doing something or other. It was a lot of fun, but I'm glad to be back too.
Oh, and I baked brownies today! Yay!

Work and the ever-lingering fear of impending death
General | Posted 18 years agoNo, I haven't fallen into some kind of perilous void or some huge gap in the world map leading straight to blue hell. I'm still here, just been super busy with work. Getting a promotion just means getting more work I guess...but hey, more money is pretty sweet too, so I'm not complaining too much.
I'm still drawing and keeping my hand in, and working on my modeling in 3D Studio Max (If I ever make anything halfway decent, maybe I'll post some stuff here). Not too much colored stuff right now, just quick pencil sketches.
Now for the impending doom segment...
I'll be going out of town on the 19th to the 25th. I've never flown alone before, and haven't been on a plane since I was small, so I'm getting pretty nervous! I don't want this to be my last journal post! *cries*

I'm baaack
General | Posted 18 years agoWell, I got my computer back in one piece again...just in time to do lots of backed-up work! Not having my computer for a few days had been a great excuse for not working, since my current line of freelance work depends on me having one.
If anyone wants me, I'll be hunched over my keyboard with the fritos catching up.
BTW, here's some new stuff. *points down to the right of the screen*
