I don't remember when i joined in earnest, but I've been secretly creeping around for a while. This isn't my first name.

What's your reason for furry (what interested you to get into the community)?
My parents read Little Red Riding Hood to me wrong and I've been psychologically and sexually FUBAR ever since.
What's Furry to you?
Cartoon animal people, or werewolves, or hideous Dr. Moreau Type Monsters, pretty much anything is rad. Restrictive definitions are for people trying to write Wikipedia articles.
If someone found out you're a furry and asked you about it how would you respond?
I would probably come clean and have an enlightening and interesting conversation with them, then regret it about a week later when their cracks about the fandom I happen to have secret connections to stopped being shots at some nebulous other and started being directed more at me personally.
What are your favorite aspects of our community?
I guess the sort of underground and somewhat decentralized way that furries operate, as a fandom that doesn't answer to some entertainment company ultimately. I mean don't get me wrong, I like those companies, but furry seems to have more of an interest in the efforts of individuals outside the more traditional producer/consumer model that anime and mainstream comics and other entertainment products work under.
Do you use any furry terms? (i.e. yiff, paws, murr?)
Not really.
What do you wish furry was NOT associated with?
A bunch of guys who seem really gung-ho about the idea of me bending over backwards to step in line with whatever they think the fandom's PR should look like.
How strongly do you feel about someone bashing the community as a whole?
Generally when my friends bag on my secret interests I just go along with it and pretend like I agree with them. If the online and offline me were different people, we'd be at each others throats. The whole thing feels like I'm at odds with myself, like I'm my own enemy, like Keanu Reeves in the movie "A Scanner Darkly" or something. It's pretty unsettling.
Of course if my offline friends knew my secrets, I'd probably be assured that I'm "one of the good ones". To my face, anyways.
How strongly do you feel about anyone bashing you yourself for your interest based on the media's aspect of what furry is?
I would probably have it coming.
We all know furries have a lot of sexual aspects in this fandom, What's your opinion on it?

To be honest, if I had that kind of disposable income and free time I'd probably just get into World of Warcraft.

Online, quite a few. I don't think any of my offline friends have any idea who I really am. Eventually I'll inadvertently give myself away somehow, and one of their engineers will bludgeon me to death with a wrench. I just hope they'll have enough respect to spray an animated gif of keyboard cat on top of my corpse and micspam the song.

I read comics and play video games and watch TV and listen to pretty terrible electronic music.

I'm so fucked up about the whole thing that I found it easier to split myself into two people who are out to destroy each other than to come to terms with it, so not really, no.

I've been to FCN but money is pretty tight so I can't really haul off to anything out of state.

General | Posted 18 years agoMost of my inspiration I draw from the media. Comic books, old Mad Magazine illustrations, television, whatever strikes my fancy; I’m not picky. I’m not above making thinly veiled references to things that I like, either, although whether this constitutes plagiarism or homage is unclear. Drawing from mass media might be trite, but it runs in my blood. My father works in advertising, and his father ran a movie theater. The media is the awful sea from which my ancestors crawled up and shed their gills.
When it comes to making art; I’m a bit inconsistent as to how I do it and how much time I put into it. Even when it comes of photography, some of my favorite images took hours of retrying, while others are just snapshots. I suspect I’m not unique in that regard, though. I prefer to work with pen, pencil or photography; I like to see what I can do with composition and lines. Even my 3 dimensional art tends to be full of lines when I can get away with it.
When it comes to making art; I’m a bit inconsistent as to how I do it and how much time I put into it. I have to totally disagree with apeshallneverkillape.. It is about human rights. the only reason its Women that get 'castrated' instead of the men, is the ingrained sexism that still dominates the primitives. am i being rude? yes. how can they think that doing that to a woman will stop her from breeding? Its not like the women have a CHOICE.. basically.. the woman is forced into sex. she has no choice.. so, obviously making it so she gets no pleasure will have no effect on their over population problem.
