I need to make some extra money over summer because I'm in a tight spot going into my last year of college...

I've had a handful of people ask if I'm opening for fursuit commissions, and after talking with my parents and close friends, have decided to open up a few slots! I'll only be doing 2-3, plus some extra things on the side (hats, bandanas, badges, props, etc).

Basically how it's going to work is that I'll be offering quotes in the next two weeks or so. Keep an eye out for the journal, which I should be posting in the next week or so.

Hello fuzzies!

After several conversations about werewolves, I decided to indulge in Van Helsing once again after a year or so. I remember when I first saw it around the age of 13 and thinking, "YES! This is what a werewolf is supposed to be!" I loved the werewolves, and to this day the Van Helsing versions are probably my favorite. Besides their lack of tail, I love the overall design, aggression, and size. The transformations are wicked, and I loved how they pulled it off. <3

It's funny though, watching this movie made over 10 years ago, I find myself cringing at the special effects. They're so cheesy and awful... But at the same time, for being made that long ago, it's pretty impressive work. The animation is beautiful on all the creatures, and the transformations between human and beast and vice versa is actually rather smooth. I'm not a huge fan of the female actress... but that's a whole other story.

So my question to you is, what's your favorite movie involving werewolves? Or do you have a favorite version of the werewolf that you prefer over others?

Yesterday we had a group from the attend the Gnome and Fairy Festival at Oatland Wildlife and Refuge center. It was just a little festival full of games, costumes, and a lot of cute activities. We had a group of 6 suiters come out and entertain the kids for the day! I got to be in Celeste, and honestly had a GREAT time. I would rank that my number 1 favorite public suiting event so far. :)

I met a kid from Germany and got to have fun talking to him in German, had fun with a special needs kid who I LOVED <3, was led around by two different girls, was fought over by a couple more small children XD, and just had amazing time overall.

Next weekend we have the music video and picnic, and I'm PSYCHED!!! It's going to be fantastic. :D

Ok, is anyone else having trouble with Omegle? I've tried it on both my mac and PC, and nothing happens... My camera works on my side, but not theirs. Not only that, but their camera doesn't work. Any ideas? Cuz I can't figure it out...

It's come to my attention that I have these few pet peeves that apply to/in the furry fandom. Most of the time it applies to non-experienced suiters or the younger groups of people, but it still drives me berserk. Here's a few:

1) A lot of the beginners tend to get their materials, foam/shape/cut out the head, and then take video's of themselves talking about what they're gonna do. However, the whole time they have the head on and turn it back and forth and back and forth, the whole video being a pointless 5 minutes or longer. I can understand if you need to 'test' how it looks in the camera and make sure it looks even and decent... but to talk about your plans and life and struggles and everything while wearing it like it's finished and then upload it to youtube? No. Just stop. Please.

2) This sort of goes along with the first... When people foam the head and decide to make dance videos with nothing but this giant block of foam on their heads. Nothing else. If they could dance, that would be something, but most of them can't. It's just sad, pathetic, and irritating. Like, just fur the dumb thing to get it over with! XD

3) People who don't wash their suits. Like... what part in their heads thinks that their suit looks or smells good after wearing it for an entire weekend?! Their feet are filthy, the smell like B.O. and they're no longer cute. I have a partial, and even at that I'm constantly worried that I'm gonna smell bad! I made my suit about a month ago and have washed it twice because I'm so scared it's gonna smell bad or look bad. XD Also the people who pay thousands for their suits... how do you not panic about it looking bad?! Like, I want my suit to be in tip-top shape, not look like I just found it in the garbage. Just pay a dollar to wash the darn thing and take 30 minutes to scrub off the face and feet. Simple as that.

4) Ruining the magic. BAD. When people think it's totally fine to wear just a head, paws, tail, and feet, but wear shorts and/or short sleeves with it, skin completely exposed. To me, it just doesn't look good. At all. If I ever do it, it's to be funny around my friends or just to mock how weird it looks. XD But if people do it seriously? I dunno. That's just a little strange to me.

That's all that come to mind right now.

This weekend was basically one of the most spontaneous and crazy things I've ever done in my entire life, and I don't regret it for a SECOND.

However, I've put off a TON of work (to those of you who I promised pen sketches, I'm sorry. I'll get them out there sometime this week) and have a lot to do before this upcoming weekend.

Tonight will most likely be an all nighter, and I'm afraid my project won't be very good... Definitely not looking forward to that. :/

Next week I have to totally step up my game and get back on track, because the past two weeks have been absolutely insane, and I've been way too distracted. Needless to say, I'm still gonna be distracted, but I have a bit of a weight lifted off of me, so I'll be more determined to get my work done first.

I'm sorry if I don't talk much to anyone. I need to just kinda need to burry myself away into school for a long while and get my work done...

I'm really sorry, but the sketches aren't going to be up until tomorrow hopefully... I didn't get to finish them last night, and I had planned to finish them all this evening, but my day has been basically hustling everywhere and doing a lot of stuff.

Not only that, but I feel like a piece of crap. My throat kinda hurts, my head is aching slightly and getting worse, my legs are sore, my stomach feels sick, and I'm like... BEYOND tired. I haven't felt like this in a long time...

Sitting in the library today trying to study, listening to some relaxing music and one of my all time favorite songs called "Love in a Coffee Shop," started to play. I took 4 minutes to just sketch out something quick that came to my mind, and realized how satisfying it was to, not only draw Aqua, but to use a song that was playing and put her in the situation. It was awesome, and I really wanna play around with it some more.

SO, here's the deal. I'm just playing around tonight. I want to draw for fun, and I want to experiment.

Please read this carefully if you're interested in a slot...

I have 9 ball point pens sitting next to me, each of them being a different color.

For each piece of free artwork, I will be taking the color YOU choose to draw your character. Once that color is claimed, that spot is taken and no one else can have that color. (Hopefully that makes sense) There's a possibility these sketches will be colored, but that depends on time and interest.

ON TOP OF CHOOSING WHAT COLOR, you also need to choose a SONG that you want me to use/listen to while drawing said character. I'd prefer something with a meaningful story or background of some kind. Please choose TWO songs and post them from greatest to least (meaning, post the song you'd like me to listen to/use the MOST on top, and the other one below it.) That way, if I have trouble with the first song, I can go to the second and have more variety to choose from. Also, I'd appreciate nothing too sexual or race-y. Partying song is fine, but nothing super crude. That's not really my thing...

Finally, please post a REFERENCE. Obviously I need a character to draw for your free art. XD It doesn't have to be anything super fancy, just enough that I understand the body, markings, and mostly face details.

Apparently there's a handful of people that are upset at me, for reasons that I honestly have no clue about. All I know is that these people (not mentioning any names) are just frustrated or pissed off at me or SOMETHING.

I want to set things straight.

If you have a problem with me or something I did, PLEASE talk to me about it like a mature adult rather than sulking at me from the corner, making me have to play a guessing game as to why you're upset. We're all adults, so lets try and act like one.

I'm not bashing anyone for being upset- I know the feeling of being angry at someone and have done the very exact thing- but I want to try and talk it out. I've already reached out to a few of you, but have gotten the cold shoulder in return. If you don't tell me what's going on, I can't explain my side of the story, let alone try and fix what happened.

I don't talk about my faith much on here, but this is when I'm gonna come out and say that we're all sinners. We all make mistakes. We will never be perfect, and that's okay! That's just who we are as humans.

If you'd rather just not talk about it, that's fine. But there was a reason that we were friends before whatever happened, so I'd hope that you could see past it to be friends with me again and that maybe I could try and make it up to you.

To those of you who HAVE confronted me, thank you. You know who you are, and I'm glad we could talk things out. It helped me realize that things DO need to be talked out rather than just ignored. So really, thank you.

I just wanted to get that off my chest. I hope you all understand.

I just need a new journal. XD

The past week has been absolutely insane. So many ups and downs, I can't even begin to count them. I've had to deal with more drama this week than I have the entirety of being here at SCAD I think.

But somehow, I'm still super content? I'm happy where I am in my life, and I feel like I've grown a lot just this quarter alone. Sure, I still make stupid mistakes and mess things up, but I've gotten to be a lot more mature about it. I mean, I am a sinner, so I'm always going to do things wrong. It's just apart of who I am and who everyone is. I just want to try and handle it in a way that's pleasing to God (though I know I can't do it perfectly).

I still have trouble with confidence, just because I want everything to be right and everyone to be happy, so I tend to talk myself down in order to make people content. But hey, I'm young and still learning, and will continue to learn for as long as I live on this Earth.

I'm just seeing this all as a learning experience. FWA was awesome, but there was a lot of stuff that happened afterward that I didn't really intend for. The good thing is, though, that we can all learn from our mistakes.

You learn more from your mistakes than your successes.

I hope everyone is doing well! I'm going to try my best to be a better friend to people and put time aside to let them know how much I appreciate their friendship. If for some reason you're interested in grabbing lunch or coffee, note me and we can set up a day in advance! I'd love to sit and talk with any of my local friends. :)

Anyway, I'll end it there. School is extremely stressful with midterms coming up, but somehow I'm just kinda... happy. :) Though I'm ready to go home and be with my family.

Wow.

Can I just say, I never imagined I would have that much fun at this convention.

I met so many people, did so many things, and overall just had an AMAZING time! By far the best convention I've ever been too (since I've only attended anime cons before this) and certainly a great fur con to start off with!

There are so many people I met that I never imagined I would have the pleasure of meeting, and they were all SO nice! Never once did I feel like I wasn't included or welcomed. Some of the people I've been watching and admiring for YEARS were some of the sweetest and friendliest. I got to try on several suits and just speak with so many people! Like WOW!

Going to admit that I cried at least two or three times from just pure joy. After 6 years of sitting in my room, watching video after video of furry conventions, I finally got to experience my own! I got to see the dance comp, floor wars, be IN the parade and just hang out with a variety and plethora of people!

What an amazing time. <3 So much to talk about, but the details aren't as important to everyone else. XD All you need to know is that I had one of the best weekends of my life.

I'll be working hard on commissions over summer in order to raise enough money to attend AC. Hopefully it will happen!

Just curious, because I've been thinking about it personally quite often.

For me, what first got me in it was the costumes. I looked up mascot videos online and eventually stumbled into Anthrocon, which led me to furries and the fandom.

However, I slowly slipped out of the fandom until last year when I met the furries here at SCAD. What keeps me in the fandom are definitely the friends. Besides that, I probably wouldn't be apart of it much anymore. XD

Not much going on during spring break. Just trying to work on some commissions and personal junk, as well as relax. This past quarter was crazy...

The upcoming quarter will be much different- my best friend/roommate is going to be in France for 8 weeks, so I basically have to become a lot more independent. I think I can do it. It'll just be... different.

Finally met ~! :D We walked around a little bit at St Patricks day in savannah, despite him getting over sickness. XD It was enjoyable!

I have the most amazing, wonderful friends in the world.

Seriously, you guys have been such a fantastic support, and I'm so glad and so blessed to have you all in my life. :) I know I have my ups and downs, but you all stick with me and help me. Thank you so, so much from the bottom of my heart. <3

Many of you have done things to put a smile on my face, especially when I'm unhappy. It always works and reminds me that I really do have the greatest friends on earth. :)

Although I don't have time to individually go through and thank every single person, I do want to thank one in particular right now because he deserves to be noticed for what he's done.

This guy has put things aside in order to talk to me and comfort me through certain things, and really gets down to the nitty gritty. It's not the typical, 'You'll be ok,' but is more of the, "Lets look at what's going on in your life and really figure out what's going on. In the end you'll realize it's not that big of a deal and that you can kick this thing in the butt." He gives me the words that I need when I'm upset. I could go on for paragraphs about this guy, but figure I'll save that for another time.

Anyways, here's my story...

Rewind to a good many weeks ago when he sent me a video of snow falling in his backyard. I responded with how I was utterly and completely jealous, since snow is one of the things i miss most about being in Savannah. His response? "I'll make sure to try and send the snow your way." My thoughts? 'Haha, yeah right, good joke.'

Over a week ago, as finals were coming up and stress was high, I texted him about my low self-esteem in my work and explained that I really didn't think I could get through. It was so much and piling up so quick that I just had no confidence. In response, he said, "I bet you the impossible will happen. Give it a week." I waited a week, and nothing happened...

Until Thursday. I get a text from my friend xyarks who says, "I have something for you, I'll meet you at Turner." I proceed to drive there, only to find a large Styrofoam box sitting next to his feet. It wasn't from him though, it was from someone else...

We open it, only to find a pile of snow sitting in only a small puddle of water. What happened next? Physics and I decided to have a snowball fight. In Savannah, GA. In the middle of March. With 60 degree weather.

The impossible did happen, and it put the biggest, stupidest smile on my face. I don't think I've ever had a more amazing gift to ever be given to me. :)

All this to say, Kami_yama is one of the most amazing people I've ever met. He's always concerned about others, and does whatever he can to help them out. Check him out, send him a note, anything. It's a friendship you won't want to miss out on. <3 (Yes, he's the one who sent me the box of snow)
