Halloween Parties
Posted 13 years agoI always imagine they would be fun. But I've never been to one or even seen one. So, I guess I don't know?
Breaking 4th Wall
Posted 13 years agoI think breaking the 4th wall is the cheapest form of humor. (I don't consider groin kicks to be humor. At all.)
BUT, it's also my favorite form of humor. Despite how dumb and easy it is. There's just something I enjoy about the sudden disorienting turn of events where you realize you're being spoken to directly.
The best is, of course, the muppets. Somehow they do it without pulling you out of the story at all.
Here's another good one.

Distancing myself but in a good way
Posted 13 years agoI think I'm finally, slowly, learning yet another basic life lesson people 10 years younger than me have known for a long time.
I don't have to be friends with everyone.
Friends have been rare for me. But I've slowly built more and more after so, so long being alone. As I met people I tended to cling to them even if I should not have. Things I noticed about them that were unhealthy character traits. Sometimes downright wrong and unquestionably bad. Bad people. I'd just ignore those elements as best I could.
But now that I've had some very close friends for over a year, I'm starting to realize that it's ok to dislike people. Of course, there's no reason to let anyone know that other than myself.
I'm starting to ramble but the point is, I feel I'm maturing a tiny little bit. Which is something that doesn't happen much with me.
How are YOU doing this past week?

Dragon Halloween Costumes
Posted 13 years agoThere aren't any.
That sucks.
Generally I don't care at all about suiting. But I've always made just one exception and that's: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1945585

Posted 13 years agoSo I hear people dress up and stuff for this. But I have no idea what to do.
Dragon costume? Hell no. Nothing will be up to my standards.
Storm Trooper. Totally! That could be - ... th' fuck! How can plastic armor cost $600?
Wait wait. Spider man. There we go that'll- aaaaand no. No no. Everyone would be lookin' at my junk.
Screw halloween.
I'm going home.

TMI Tuesdays
Posted 13 years agoThis is a thing now? Wait! Slow down! I need to jump on this bandwagon.
Ask me anything,
Preferably in the form
Of a brief haiku.

Posted 13 years agoReally guys? You're still selling the $94.99 six-foot cables? You know I just bought one online for $1.97, right?
Contacting me on Messenger
Posted 13 years agoFantastic! 24 hours later after being locked out and they finally send me an automated reply saying they'll have a look in 5 - 7 days. And that's NO GUARANTEE that I'll even get it back. Dammit I've been using this account for seven years! I need my contact list of friends! Give me that at least!

Movie Trailer Comparison
Posted 13 years agoMovie making changes drastically decade-to-decade but so too does advertising. "Flight of the Navigator" is a film from my childhood. Below I'm posting the original trailer from 1986 and a fan-made trailer from 2011. It's striking how different they look. It feels like a different movie. The amount of info given on the plot, the pacing, the tension. Trailers used to give highlights and focus more on the type of movie. Now the goal seems to be more to take a full-length movie and make it into a mini-movie.
Anyway, I thought it was pretty cool to compare.

Smaug
Posted 13 years agoWill someone explain to me how ON EARTH anyone would cast Benedict Cumberbatch as Smaug in the upcoming Hobbit films and think that was a good idea?
What the hell.
Now, I do absolutely love him in Sherlock. He's fantastic. But he-
-is not-
-a dragon! C'mon, people! Not to mention it'll be seriously weird when he goes up against Martin Freeman as Bilbo! Though I'll interject that he is a fantastic choice to play Bilbo and I'm excited about that part.
EDIT:
It should totally be Michael Ironside.

This. Just. In.
Posted 13 years agoHoly shit! Guys! Did you know that:
People ask for FREE STUFF from artists!
Some people dislike others' art style!
People want to pay less money!
Artist want to charge more!
Furries get made fun of sometimes!
Admins make decisions that some people disagree with!
...because I didn't know! Luckily there's been a surge in drama journals lately to keep me up to date on all this new stuff.

Video: All About I
Posted 13 years agoI'm posting a music video.
Posted 13 years agoThis is all the more hilarious to me because I have no idea what song the music video is supposed to be paired with.
And I have no intention of finding out.

Present Tense Poem
Posted 13 years agoFound this a long while ago. Re-found it again today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was spring, But it was summer I wanted,
The warm days, And the great outdoors.
It was summer, But it was fall I wanted,
The colorful leaves, And the cool, dry air.
It was fall, But it was winter I wanted,
The beautiful snow, And the joy of the season.
It was winter, But it was spring I wanted,
The warmth, And the blossoming of nature.
I was a child, But it was adulthood I wanted,
The freedom, And the respect.
I was 20, But it was 30 I wanted,
To be mature, And sophisticated.
I was middle aged, But it was 20 I wanted,
The youth, And the free spirit.
I was retired, But it was middle age I wanted,
The presence of mind, Without limitations.
My life was over.
But I never got what I wanted.
Final's Week!
Posted 13 years agoRaptor attacked me in the middle of the night!
Posted 13 years agoUnless I'm sprouting scales on my back, I've got a big long scrape / scab going down my lower back that I just found. Where the hell did that come from? Arrrgh where's a mirror when you need one. O_o Pretty sure I would have remembered getting scraped up this much.
EDIT:
It FEELS big but I'll bet it's one of those things where if you manage to get a look at it, it's tiny. :-P
Amnesia: Descent
nope nope nope!
I'd heard so much about this game. Downloaded a demo. I haven't even gotten to anything yet and I'm scared silly. Holy wow they know what they're doing, designing this game to make you really feel like you're loosing it.
You can read the storyline, you can watch youtubes, see what people say about it... there's just something about playing it for real, hearing it for real, experiencing it on your own... dang. Scary as hell.
