right next to my computer desk is a window which faces this street

Posted 14 years agoI beat Red at Mt. Silver in SS while I was at work today. It was really a huge milestone for me, and I think I'm ready to be done with Gen 4 for a while. What amazed me the most about this achievement was that none of my Pokemon were over level 70, and one of my slots was actually taken up by a level 24 HM slave. Yet, I still won. My mons will never cease to amaze me. ♥

In other Pokemon-related news, my copy of White arrived! I hadn't expected it to get here until the end of next week, so boy was I ever surprised when it was right there on the counter when I came home from work. I've been playing pretty much non-stop since I opened the package.
This game marks a bit of a break in tradition for me. I have four specific characters who could be considered my "personae" in the Pokemon universe, and I've always used their names for my player character and played as though my Pokemon teams belonged to those characters. They've gone through many adventures and trained many powerful teams, but to me, their adventure ended in Sinnoh. Thus, Unova marks a sort of new beginning for me...with a new persona.
Trainer Alac's current lineup:
Jade the M Tepig
Bear the M Lillipup
Emilio the M Purrloin
Kessi the F Pidove
So far I'm mostly favoring Emilio, and he will probably be the only one of these four to make it into my final team, but we'll see! There are a lot of interesting options this gen. Posted 15 years agoi've been considering teaching fakelanguage lessons via livestream. in particular i was gonna try and do a series of "classes" related to Phelenfar, the fictional language used by the Phelkar race in my RPG. it wouldn't just be for your benefit(?), either. i'd be doing this to help MYSELF grow more accustomed to speaking and writing the language. and of course i'd be answering any questions regarding Phelenfar (and Rose Odyssey in general) throughout each stream. might even do a few doodles.
this would probably run on a fixed schedule, with each class being maybe half an hour to an hour each. we'd be covering the alphabet first, then learning basic vocabulary, and finally verb conjugation and some simple sentences. i'd like to stress that this language is not simply a cipher, such as al bhed or the melnics language. if you want a more accurate equivalent, think quenya or na'vi. there IS a separate alphabet, but a lot of the pronunciation is relatively similar to american english. sentence structure has more of a romance influence. the writing is more...runic, i guess. but it flows together in a fashion that's a bit more like arabic. if you want to see just a small preview of the way this language works, click here.
there wouldn't be any homework and i wouldn't be grading anybody. what i'm going for is more like an interactive lecture than a crash course.
i don't expect many people to be all that interested in this, since i figure my fascination with fake languages PROBABLY puts me in the minority. xD but it seemed like a neat idea when i first conceived it, so...
