First I should say, this journal entry is not an attempt to be an 'attention whore', it's quite impossible for that to happen actually, given that little more than 10 people watch me, and I have even less comments on my journals/work. In fact I'm sure that maybe only 2 people will read this, but at least they care enough to read it, freaking long as it is.
Okay, in an attempt to avoid any further drama I stopped discussing the cub thing and took some time to gather my thoughts. This is what I've come up with.
For whatever odd reason that I cannot explain, I can look at artwork that many would find grossly offensive, and enjoy it myself. Not just your standard furry stuff, I mean the more hardcore stuff, however I'm going to leave out the details because frankly thats personal.
Now, despite that I can do the above, for some reason, there is a reaction in my mind to the posting and/or promotion of sexually oriented cub art. Hypocritical? I don't know. Ironic? Definately. I've asked myself the question as to why I don't find other things offensive, but when it comes to cub art I can barely stand it. Confuses myself, really.
For whatever reason, something in my brain says 'This is bad and should not be allowed.' Now admittedly, I know that some of the stuff I view for personal enjoyment is also bad, but for some reason gets my interest, so I accept it. I suppose this means I have double standards about this sort of thing. However, I would be willing to sacrifice those enjoyments along with the cub art if thats what it meant. Does that make me a super great person? I have no damn clue. I like to think that I at least am not a horrible person, but I wouldn't give myself too much credit for a compromise on this level.
Really wish I knew where this was going, so far it's all self evaluation.

Me and motivation don't get along

I really want to be a good artist, a great artist even. I look at all sorts of great art all the time (here and other places) and I always think "I want to be this good!".
Heres where things get confusing... I have little to no motivation to draw anything. Why? It's probably alot of things. First thing is probably how much time I spend playing video/computer games. I enjoy them so damn much, it's hard to stop, and hours just fly by when your playing them.
Then we have school, which is where most of my non-game time is spent. I keep decent grades, A-B range, occasional C, and rare Ds (ack). Some of it comes naturally, some doesn't, but that doesn't mean I don't have work to do.
Then I suppose there is a lack of inspiration. I need to be seriously inspired by something to draw. The last time that happened was when my mate came to visit me and I drew her 2 times. I need to find some serious source of inspiration, somehow.
Any kind of helpful advice is appreciated.

General | Posted 19 years agoThere is a beautfil girl in my class, and I don't mean average beautiful, I mean beautiful . I want her to pose for a drawing. Problem: I don't know her at all, we don't even talk in class. I know her name, I know she is from Russia (her english is pretty good), and it would seem she is comfortable with her body since she wears clothing that accentuates it.
Right now I'm trying to convince myself that I won't get the opportunity to draw her, even though I really want to.

General | Posted 19 years agoThis is maybe the first time I've logged onto FA without seeing any new submissions from my watch list. It always seems to busy here because of all the submissions, but right now it's like everyone is on break. It's good to be on break, personally I never like going through 40 somthing submissions in one sitting, so I log on a few times a day to make sure I'm clearing them out.
