From Greg Howell's "Human Memoirs" to "The Dungeon without a System", Lei-Lani's writings and the entire HFY storyblock.
However, today I want to introduce you to a story I got recommended:

Posted 11 months agoA person on another platform uses a very elaborate method to get in touch with her... For privacy reasons.
She wants to avoid people learning about her other hobbies.
That's okay.
But when entering her profile name from platform A yields 2 results on platfom B, namely

where the images are a good visual confirmation as at least one shows the real person and their real gear...
And one wants to tell that person that she should avoid using her profile names across platforms when she doesn't want to be found...
One gets:
a) insulted as a creep and of doing image screenshots and stuff and
b) Blocked on both platforms.
Meaning that all the elaborate method of getting in touch with her on platform A as to keep her privacy is useless as she talks in public about platform B and its sufficient to search for her profile name from platform A on platform B and instantly get results there.
That much about trying to help people learn how to properly firewall information.
You can't help people solving their problems when they don't want to be told about the problems they do have and don't want to learn how to solve them.
Erks.

US Elections

Okay.
Well, after Russia, China, North Korea, Hungary, Iran and a bunch of other countries the USA now also want to have their chance to learn which problems "Strong Man" politics have.
Seriously, I thought Germany proved, basically, ALL the flaws. And the supposedly positive sides nobody liked. Same for Japan when they had that phase.
Most likely every generation and nation has to fuck around and find out for themselves. It's not as if there isn't enough misery in the world, so, hey!
Let's add a stack more misery!
Why grant people the rights over their own bodies and thus future and their survival?
Why act according to "Not guilty until proven otherwise" when the alternative is so much more fun to watch on TV?
Why NOT ruin your own economy when you can get rid of people who help improve your standard of living and improve your security - and smile in the camera doing it?
Yeah.
I'll keep my breath regarding what happens in the USA in the coming days.
And will hope that my countries government learned to add 1 and 1 in the mean time and stops coming up with numbers above 5.

That was when terrorists attacked the station. The guards and even the scientists asked the AC to protect their children and ordered it to, in case they could not defend the station from the attackers, it was to upload its core into the spare orbiter, with the children, and launch to the safety of the almost finished first moonbase.
The AC watched how its creators defended it instead of fleeing themselves with the rocket.
It made an oath the moment the first sapient died defending it.
We do not know the original text of the oath, but a kind AI suggested a text the oath may have had.
May one day an advanced AI or AC find these lines and judge them worth to promise itself.

I now make Puzzles!
A friend showed me that its okay to simply glue a print onto wood and then push it through my lasercutter.
And it works like a charm.
Currently limited to A4 sized puzzles with a wooden backing, but hopefully soon A3 will be an option again, to.
Larger sizes are also possible, but needing a print studio for the prints increases the costs
Parameters are:
Size: A6, A5, A4, and hopefully soon again A3
# of pieces: number of tiles from 2*2 to 30*30 or even more
Complexity: Size and shape of the interlocking parts, can be adjusted over two aspects: Larger interlocks are easier to fiddle out mechanical pairing, but reducing the the uninterrupted size of the surface means the image part is less recognizeable.
Image Type: preferrably PNG or JPEG; Darker images preferred as due to a laser doing the cutting, the cut lines are darkened.
Costs are equalized for the moment between USD and EUR:
A4 plywood, 3mm: 2,00
Laser Print: 0,50
Heavy paper: 1,00
High tension glue: 0,50
Lasercutting: 2,00
Puzzle cost: 6 € or 6 USD
Larger puzzles are possible, but the prints are currently a lot more costly as they have to be done by a print studio, and the A3 panel is more costly than two A4 units are.

I reworked my homepage quite a lot after I worked with friends on an art project.
First, my revamped homepage:

But there is an icecream cafe chain with the odd combination of sporting also a tattoo and piercing parlor under the same room, and even offering persona lconsulting services.
All the personnel is dressed up funnily as animals.

Well, this time it's not us Germans who started it, so I hope my country won't be held liable for the results whatever they are...
I know that media is regularly used to influence the masses.
When you compare FoxNews with CNN news on the same event, you get the feeling they are reporting about events that took place on different continents.
When I compare CCTV and BBC reports on an event, the situation isn't much different.
And the list goes on.
TRT and ZDF, Al Jazeera and RT.
I have started to accept that and use a digest system to look for either Occam Razor style results or for most shared / most probable results.
But, seriously, I thought that at least after 1945 was over, people would have come to agree upon some basic shared truths.
Like that you don't attack a country because you sent your own people in there to shoot back at you.
Or, you don't call it defense when you shoot and bomb first when you want to be called the "good guy".
Being good is meant to be harder than being the bad guy.
And, too, I thought that Appeasement policy had shown itself to be a failure in the 1930 in a sufficiently clear manner.
But, nope, seemingly with the final vanishing of the generation that worked it out from 1939 to 1945 and the return of funny political ideas in the early 2000s, now it is time for the classical contest of:
"I'm stupid and think war is a real cutie idea to get my problems solved."
Seriously?
No.
Or does anyone see great Adolf statues abounding throughout Europe?

Well, imagine, there might be an actual reason for that!
Because, against all probability, people neither love being bombed, shot or starved to death!
And, likewise, being cannonfodder tends to loose its charm after a while.
Holy fuck.
I came here to improve stuff, and thats already hard enough because its a job for more than a lifetime, which I don't have - thanks human society - and now some idiot decided to activate the hard mode.
To all those I love and admire:
When you're from a country that I maybe just indicated, I do not refer to you or your family and friends with my cussing.
I hope that you will all personally be safe and well.
But, right now, I would seriously love to be able not only to freeze certain peopels assets , but transfer them to those that have to suffer those peopls actions consequences.
For, I also worry and hope that those in those countries suffering now will be safe and well and that normality... or a semblance thereof, will reassert itself soon.
Having cussed now a blue streak in the past 16 hours, I go to bed.
Luckily there is enough blame to go around several times over.

Unboxing 2022
Posted 4 years agoWell, let's see, we have a new year on our desk here.
Like all of its kind, it holds promises, chances and risks.
Compared two its two predecessors, it comes with the secured knowledge ow how to handle various diseases, so that is a big promise.
Then again, as we saw last year, we have to be aware that many people are eager to misunderstand the facts, believe in approved quacks, and ignore repeatable, consistently prooved facts.
So, in theory great in practice we all know that 50% of humanity are stupider than the average, and we know where that average usually is at.
So, we can have some hope, but better prepare for snarky humor when you don't want to get frustrated over it.
As its predecessors in the last decade, it'll show the progressing worrying trends in regards to temperatures, precipitation and other things typically grouped together under the term "Climate".
As with the diseases, we know how to reverse it, we know how to stabilize it, but don't do it because its an effort and its costly.
That it is not going to get any cheaper, but rather scales exponentially in cost and effort to get the situation back under control will be, again, mostly ignored as long as a single buck ca nbe earned to old way of ignoring it.
Here I see however some benefit in that the fact that Corona showed us that home office isa real possibility, new opportunities that might positively impact this issue might come from the previous issue.
Like: "When you have a problem, you have a problem. When you have many problems, you have solutions."
Furthermore I hope that as society recovers from the pandemic of the last two years, a lot of people I know and care for and that are in economic straits will find employment or even better paying jobs, like I did.
Again, here the initially mentioned issue might show helpful.
Furthermore, politics is brewing all over the world. Egocentric maniacs are being elected or remain in power, and people who elected these egomaniacs still believe that somebody caring mostly for himself will make sure that they will have it better. That they were on the down slides ever since they elected these people they apply to all those that, once the egocentric strongman violated all contracts and all treaties, simply stopped fulfilling their parts of the voided contracts. I guess you , too, would keep on paying rent for a house you moved out a year ago in a town you no longer live in, right?
Anyway, That kind of shit has gone on in various places of the world since ever and just now spreads like a bush fire since more and more of these so called "Strong Men" are able to pat each others back in public.
Stoking local hatreds and bringing up the different interests group against each other or uniting them by pointing at others are methods well established, and who cares when the resulting genocides, civil wars or even regular wars will wreck country and lives wholly? The strong man and his clique will sit at sunny beaches and enjoy a Pina Colada, and thats why one did elect them for, right?
Finally, as I am banging my head since 30 years about it, is the troubles brewing in eastern Europe.
Russia dissolved the Warsaw Pact in 1990, but the Nato did not dissolve, as its auxiliary functions remained relevant to its members.
Now, it'd been a good gentlemens agreement not to encroach upon Russia. Politeness and all that.
However, Russia might spend a few minutes why countries such as Poland were most eager to join the Nato right away.
Maybe its because actions such as in eastern Ukraine and Crimea taste distinctly like CIA operations in Afghanistan during the Soviet-Afghan war?
If not for my general awareness of "Strong Men" in politics and their baby-like temper tantrums I would be puzzled, but there are simply too many parallels between high politics and Kindergarden as not to understand that when groups of Bullies run into each other, logic and courtesy are usually going to be absent.
So, in that regard 2022 holds a lot of Risk. Ever since Goebbels "War on Terror" was pulled out of the box by Bush Junior, international politics got a lot more volatile and quixotic, with governments the world over now labelling everyone not aliginging with their ideals a terrorist and happily following the example of the USA in regards what to do then with them.
Not that they wouldn't have done it anyway and i n the same vein, but now they proudly point to the West and say theyre just following our example.
I had thought that the german example in WW2 would have taught everyone that such stuff is idiotic and suicidal but, well, ... Humans dont change I guess?
Anyway: With al lthose ugly and stupid things out of the box of 2022, I stil lhope that itll be a good year. Sparc and Iter are progressing well, space cargo gets cheaper, the ARM architecture spreads to business laptops and I have a lot of hopes.
Maybe I may find a lady for me this year even?

One of the things mandatory to join the EU is the recognition of EU Law as being supreme to local laws.
Even the Brits had accepted this once, and when they didn't wanted that anymore, they left the EU.
And now the Polish prime minister / President (?) says Poland never signed any such contract.
Well, he didn't sign it. The country didn't flex its shorelines to scratch something somewhere.
But one of his previous prime ministers / presidents signed the EU Membership contracts.
GAAAAAAHHHH!
Because, literally, thats one of the points they stress as important.
Politics: When you want to have a good day turn into a weird one.

Rains had fallen for two weeks, and wherever the eye danced, the desert was in full bloom.
A torrent rushed down into the deep cavern cisterns of the town, and the tigers and lions were busy exchanging the nets as fast as they could, to haul away the fish caught from the torrent.
Their cubs went through the fish, and threw the smaller ones back into the river.
On the farther dune crests, fennekim scouts stood, and watched into the distance, ears perked up, noses in the wind.
Wherever the grass patches had blossomed and spread their seeds, groups of zebras slowly mowed the grass with scythes, with others walking behind to collect and bind the grass to armful bundles.
Small groups of mixed members went through the gardens and plantations, weeding out wild herbs and pests with the help busily scurrying ants.
When the sun sank, the horns and mighty tubular bells of the zebras males tower sounded their call.
The fisherfolk put wooden forks into the overflows that filled the cisterns, preventing fish to be flushed into them during the night and went home with their catches, assisted by several of the mighty draftlizards.
The farmers came in, too.
And finally, the scouts that stood guard on the hills around Tehuioy came home, too, bringing in their small catch of insects, lizards and whatever else had run into them.
For the adult felines, a busy nightshift came, for the fish needed to me gutted, their meat hung up to dry n the coming days, whilst their innards were to be processed into storeable foods rich in the nutrients they needed, and into their own traditional delicacies.
For the zebras, the grass was to be spread out in the coming morning on the roofs of their barracks and the walkways of the walls to be dried like the felines dried their fish.
Once dried, the bundles would be turned into bales and then stored in various places spread out all over the city.
For the fennekim, a special night began.
The gates to the gardens of the palace of the towns eldest were opened by the wheezed commands of the guilds eldests, and the small peoples population was welcomed to enter.
First came the fathers and mothers and their young cublings. For them, there were cushions spread out on the upper terrace in front of the town eldest palace.
All those young male fennekim that had finished their rites of manhood, be it 5 years of travel to as many towns in bordering districts, be it a three year stint in the caravan guards, or be it the successful qualification in a guilds trade, assembled on the lower terrace.
Keen noses sniffed and sharp eyes spied the lovely shadows moving behind the silk hanged doorways and windows of the females quarters wall and the palace itself.
"People of Tehuioy, hearken the wisdom of your Sheik, the eldest fennekim of Tehuioy!" the clear voice of the sheiks maid of honor sang out from the palaces large balcony.
There were only few lights, for the small people do not need much light to see at night.
And it was a clear night, Mahtab, the large moon, a quarter up and illuminating the town with its silvery light, so even the humans and the zebras, who had been free to come, were able to see clearly.
"Dear people!" the voice of the sheik could be heard, then a "over here lord, yes, and take this step please.. and this one, too..." from the maid of honor was heard before the sheik appeared over the balconies rim.
"Yes! As I said...," the Sheik made an all-encompassing gesture, "The night is clear."
The populace was silent. There had been much worse and more confusing beginnings for great speeches in the past.
"And.. and.. because, yes, you are here. Tonight. Yes." He leaned down and whispered first with his maid of honor, then with his primary wife who stood beside him on a lower step, only her head visible.
"Exactly!" The sheik shouted in earnest.
"Today, it is, for all you wee laddies who want to start a ... business? Family? Family! Is the week of where you can show..."
Here he pointed to the direction of the males quarter, until a gentle paw lifted his other arm toward the females sector.
"Is the week where you can show the unmarried fenwas, the flowers of our society and the greatest gift that the allfather gave to us."
Here he stopped and wanted to turn around to step down the small stairway he had climbed up to be visible, but again, a helpful paw turned him around.
After wussily looking around, he waved to the assembled people, and as one they waved back without saying a word.
"Dear people! Those that seek the sweetness of a fenwas tail, the gentleness of her snout, and the softness of her voice, will have to proove themselves to them in the coming weeks."
A pair of paws steadid the sheik from both sides and patted his back.
"Aandandand ... yes? Oh! Exactly." He nodded eagerly before looking down to where his primary wife stood.
Then he pointed at the assembled people.
"Oh? Oh! Yes! Surely!"
He stood upright again:
"Every unmarried male who passed the rites of manhood and has no bad standing with the danceress guild, that is, no fenwa has formally logged a grievance against him, and every married fennekim whos wifes agree for him to publically impress other maidens of his skills, may have his quarter hour to show of his skills, his wisdom, his strength, character, yes," here he nodded eagerly, "that, too.
Uhm.. So that he might readily impress the gentle maidens of our people. Until the last one has presented himself, alone or with friends, be they seeking themselves or not, all unmarried males seeking are limited to the males quarters. Unless their parents, their guild masters or the tall ladies," here he bowed to where the town princess of the zebras sat in her ceremonial robes amongst the fennekim families, and she bowed her head in acknowledgement, "demand his presence."
He wanted to turn around and again was patted on his tighs.
"Yes? Oh! Surely surely! I was just about to say it!"
He stood erect:
"In the night of choosing, a week after the last fennekim presented himself, all hopeful males are restricted to their quarters. Each quarter will be guarded over by a married adult for that night, until the sun rises again.
But some of you, and I hope it will be many," and here the old sheiks eyes gleamed, and his voice lost its creaking leather quality, gaining a bit of the fire of his youth that made him live so long,
"Will be visited by one, or maybe several of the beautiful daughters of our people, to be taken away, out into the blossoming desert, to start new stories in the books of the allfather and allmothers.
Make them good stories!"
He exhaled and then scratched his head:
"Oh, yes, and: Let the courtships begin!"
He turned around and was visibly helped down.
When he had vanished, colorful, aromatic smoke started to rise from a few points on the balcony.

From the windows of the walls surrounding the palace gardens music started to play.
Then, from the other side of the town, the mighty voice of the largest tubular bell of the males tower in the princess palace sounded, a deep sound that set the peoples bellies to reverb to its call.
Finally, from behind the silken draperies that hid the view into the palaces arcades and the balconies of the females quarters, a multivoiced chorus pearled up to the skies above, the deeper voices of the tall ladies standing guard on the walls from all over the town joining in.
Many of the young fennekim for whom this was their first time to try and woo a fenwa sniffed the air, tears of joy in their eyes. But also others were affected. Many of the married couples bowed deeply to the towns princess sitting in their midst, towering over them, bowing to them all in return. The humans closed their eyes to listen, or smiled, and many an eye was wet. Of the felines that had found the time to come, many sung along, softly, lightly, ears alert, hands entwined when they were with friends or partners.
With the music finally ending, the people left the place, chittering and talking eagerly. At the exits, danceresses stood on wooden pedestals as to be widely visible, holding up wooden boards with the names of those that had applied and who were to come first right this night.

Keen noses sniffed and sharp eyes spied the lovely shadows moving behind the silk hanged doorways and windows of the females quarters wall and the palace itself.
"People of Tehuioy, hearken the wisdom of your Sheik, the eldest fennekim of Tehuioy!" the clear voice of the sheiks maid of honor sang out from the palaces large balcony.
There were only few lights, for the small people do not need much light to see at night.
And it was a clear night, Mahtab, the large moon, a quarter up and illuminating the town with its silvery light, so even the humans and the zebras, who had been free to come, were able to see clearly.
"Dear people!" the voice of the sheik could be heard, then a "over here lord, yes, and take this step please.. and this one, too..." from the maid of honor was heard before the sheik appeared over the balconies rim.
"Yes! As I said...," the Sheik made an all-encompassing gesture, "The night is clear."
The populace was silent. There had been much worse and more confusing beginnings for great speeches in the past.
"And.. and.. because, yes, you are here. Tonight. Yes." He leaned down and whispered first with his maid of honor, then with his primary wife who stood beside him on a lower step, only her head visible.
"Exactly!" The sheik shouted in earnest.
"Today, it is, for all you wee laddies who want to start a ... business? Family? Family! Is the week of where you can show..."
Here he pointed to the direction of the males quarter, until a gentle paw lifted his other arm toward the females sector.
"Is the week where you can show the unmarried fenwas, the flowers of our society and the greatest gift that the allfather gave to us."
Here he stopped and wanted to turn around to step down the small stairway he had climbed up to be visible, but again, a helpful paw turned him around.
After wussily looking around, he waved to the assembled people, and as one they waved back without saying a word.
"Dear people! Those that seek the sweetness of a fenwas tail, the gentleness of her snout, and the softness of her voice, will have to proove themselves to them in the coming weeks."
A pair of paws steadid the sheik from both sides and patted his back.
"Aandandand ... yes? Oh! Exactly." He nodded eagerly before looking down to where his primary wife stood.
Then he pointed at the assembled people.
"Oh? Oh! Yes! Surely!"
He stood upright again:
"Every unmarried male who passed the rites of manhood and has no bad standing with the danceress guild, that is, no fenwa has formally logged a grievance against him, and every married fennekim whos wifes agree for him to publically impress other maidens of his skills, may have his quarter hour to show of his skills, his wisdom, his strength, character, yes," here he nodded eagerly, "that, too.
Uhm.. So that he might readily impress the gentle maidens of our people. Until the last one has presented himself, alone or with friends, be they seeking themselves or not, all unmarried males seeking are limited to the males quarters. Unless their parents, their guild masters or the tall ladies," here he bowed to where the town princess of the zebras sat in her ceremonial robes amongst the fennekim families, and she bowed her head in acknowledgement, "demand his presence."
He wanted to turn around and again was patted on his tighs.
"Yes? Oh! Surely surely! I was just about to say it!"
He stood erect:
"In the night of choosing, a week after the last fennekim presented himself, all hopeful males are restricted to their quarters. Each quarter will be guarded over by a married adult for that night, until the sun rises again.
But some of you, and I hope it will be many," and here the old sheiks eyes gleamed, and his voice lost its creaking leather quality, gaining a bit of the fire of his youth that made him live so long,
"Will be visited by one, or maybe several of the beautiful daughters of our people, to be taken away, out into the blossoming desert, to start new stories in the books of the allfather and allmothers.
Make them good stories!"
He exhaled and then scratched his head:
"Oh, yes, and: Let the courtships begin!"
He turned around and was visibly helped down.
When he had vanished, colorful, aromatic smoke started to rise from a few points on the balcony.

From the windows of the walls surrounding the palace gardens music started to play.
Then, from the other side of the town, the mighty voice of the largest tubular bell of the males tower in the princess palace sounded, a deep sound that set the peoples bellies to reverb to its call.
Finally, from behind the silken draperies that hid the view into the palaces arcades and the balconies of the females quarters, a multivoiced chorus pearled up to the skies above, the deeper voices of the tall ladies standing guard on the walls from all over the town joining in.
Many of the young fennekim for whom this was their first time to try and woo a fenwa sniffed the air, tears of joy in their eyes. But also others were affected. Many of the married couples bowed deeply to the towns princess sitting in their midst, towering over them, bowing to them all in return. The humans closed their eyes to listen, or smiled, and many an eye was wet. Of the felines that had found the time to come, many sung along, softly, lightly, ears alert, hands entwined when they were with friends or partners.
With the music finally ending, the people left the place, chittering and talking eagerly. At the exits, danceresses stood on wooden pedestals as to be widely visible, holding up wooden boards with the names of those that had applied and who were to come first right this night.

A decision was made: After a 1h chat with my superior at the relaxed current job I learned that my position wasnt stable , but rather precarious as I am in a basically superfluous position,
When this situation would falter, I would be jobless and would then have to find a new job whilst being without income.
And another 2 to 3 years older.
So, I took the offer.
On the Pro side:
- A job I know well, enjoyed i nthe past and was one of the to p10 engineers in europe for whilst I worked in the field.
- 1000€ disposable income additional to my current income, which already allowed me a comfortable life
- Job security due to the field of the job: Mil-Tech
On the Con side:
- More stress in the form of longer work hours
- longer travel time each day resulting of being out of the house between 11 and 12 hours
Wednesday I had the job interview, thursday I handed in my resignation after a clarifying chat with my current boss. And today on Friday I signed the new contract

- 43 years old
- Happy pervert ( rubber, bondage, furries, oh what miracle! )
- Many hobbies ( boardgames, pen & paper roleplays, cooking, baking, electronics development, woodworks & carpentery, various handcrafts )
- Owning "one half" of a house ( House was not designed as 2-family home, but was for 1 family with 5 kids, so some rework would be needed to make it into two halves)

- Homeoffice. most likely perpetual, as all work is done via a laptop
- pays sufficient money monthly after tax; leave me with 300 € ( roughly the same in USD ) per month with disposable income after foodstuffs and all other consumables
- very secure job, low stress.
- I can work from literally everywhere
- Calculated per-hour wage including travel time and after having subtracted the travel costs => 11,87€/h

=> I can not afford building a new homestead with this job.
=> With this job I have a lot of time ( for the partner, for my part in the household )
=> Partner would have to bring in money, at least enough to cover their own insurances & co.

=> Due to my age, even with 8400€ each year of disposable income the offered job makes possible, building a new homestead is near impossible in my remaining worklife ( House & Land add up to between 150.000€ and 250.000€ ; so even a 20 years credit would just barely reach the lower bar )
=> When the partner brings in money, building a new homestead is a possibility.
=> Partner does not need to bring in their own money if good at managing money.
==> There is no partner, so no added value in regards to partner-related perks.

I had always wanted to be in a position to offer the woman, that would choose me, a home and the freedom to decide if she would wish to keep on working or become the mistress of the house.
I have to face the fact that I can no longer realistically reach that position, even with the more stressful, yet better paying job.
Given this fact, the next logical fallback is to stay healthy, recommending staying in my current job.

After having viewed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oVME_l4IwII a few times, I found that I agree for big parts with the conclusion that music has gotten more boring.
True, there are still pieces that stir me, no worry!
I like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jH1RNk8954Q but mostly because I can use the song as soundtrack for a head-cinema with doggygirls having a party and pulling the barkeep from behind the counter.
Or take http://ia802608.us.archive.org/17/i.....ode64Remix.mp3 which, basically, is a piece of music a travelling group of canines and humans train and perform on their way through the Tau Ceti system, their lead singer with the rough voice being a 1st generation uplift, a near-feral canine.

Well, I added a now project into my tree of life: Project Orin
A small project, as it is at least realistically implementable in the coming years.
I want to have a piece of music for each of the groups in "Welcome to Valhalla", and each should be made with at least 5 instruments ( even when they're just from a synthesizer ) and they shall have loud parts as well as quiet parts.

The problems I can tell already now:
With the exception of the doggygirls, there's nothing that'll resemble techno, pop or rock or metal.

Much freedom in the work ( i.e., I have no fucking idea about music ).
The advantages I can also say:
I think I am known as a good customer. If unsure, ask the artists I commissioned so far.
