I'm trying to come back to fa. I got a ton of unposted great stuff. Life just doesn't seem to want to let me catch even a moment's breather. I am still alive though. Despite what I keep hearing, i haven't gone anywhere.

Posted 8 years agoI have a dilemma. My other art job is games, specifically working in VR and I have to model a whole bunch of guns for a project. Normally i can streamline the work flow by just dialing in dimensions from old schematics online into the attribute editor in maya and start at perfect scale right off the bat. Oddly for such a popular sub gun i can't find ANY schematics for the mp5 that list dimensions.
I specifically am modeling an SP89 but a handful of measurements from any mp5 or mp5 clone like POF or Zenith will do to jump start the modeling process. If anybody knows somebody or has themselves an mp5 or mp5 clone and could help me out with these measurements it would be a huge help thanks!

If you're developing VR and you're indie/amateur there's a good chance you're using Unity just because of it's standard VR tool set. We were originally using Unity it's such a shit engine we created our own fully fleshed out tool suite/project template for Unreal Engine 4. With this you can save months of programming or hundreds of dollars in turnkey assets just to get the bare minimum functionality needed to start a VR game project in UE4 which is a superior engine in almost every way. This is basically an exhaustive middleware we created for our own HTC Vive VR game which we've bundled up as a package of blueprints to help other indie developers. Currently only Vive is supported but Oculus Touch support is coming soon. Our user community has already created it for themselves but it will be native in our next update.
We just got certification from Epic for their store but we stealth launched/beta'd this well over a month ago on Itch.io by popular request and have sold a lot of copies. There are a ton of games in development built on our system already including some from actual professional game studios. You can see what people are saying about it on our forum in the link above.
The system is all blueprints so it's incredibly easy to use and implement and customize, or you can use it for a bunch of turnkey solutions.
At it's core it's a fully fleshed out weapon/combat/inventory system. You can take a gun/bow and arrow/ melee weapon model you buy or make and within minutes turn it into a fully interactive and functioning weapon in the virtual space. Slides and charging handles must be manipulated by hand, magazines removed and inserted manually, the bow string must be pulled back, shotguns pumped and shells inserted into magazines etc. It's basically plug in and play to create your own realistic weapons. It also has the tools to convert a model into a simple firearm where the ammo is stored within the gun and reloading is simply done through an animation a la Space Pirate Trainer.
All of the above have the logic for full bloom and additive recoil as well as two handed weapon stabilization. And preset easy to customize hostering and inventory that tracks weapons, bullets, types of ammo, magazines etc.
It's also got a full suite of locomotion tools including traditional multi directional movement without teleportation that collides with objects and environments as well as our own directional teleportation system which is a compromise for people who get motion sick but who might want to play your game utilizing traditional free movement.
One of the more useful features that has people who aren't even making a shooter buying it (Other than the locomotion solutions) is the system we created to turn any 3d mesh into an interactive object. Environmental props, weapons, anything you want can be turned into an interactive physical object with any number of attributes in seconds, all you have to do is insert a bone into it and put it in the correct class.
Our system also extends from Epic's default VR project template so any other default template extension assets you're already using will work alongside it.
It comes with one production quality zombie model with a simple seek and destroy AI, walking forward and attacking animations as well as sample generic guns pre rigged to function within the system.
Here's a video of the required demo level for it which we threw together in about 2 days. Just a fun little horde zombie game using a lot of the tools that come in the system.

That new Twin Peaks...
Posted 8 years agoI had sky high expectations for this and this just went sideways of them by a mile. The first 4 episodes despite some annoying FWWM esque pacing issues at times was the most entrancing and amazing and bizarre and at times beautiful thing i've ever seen on tv. FYI showtime is offering a free month of their streaming service which is how i'm watching it but I'm going to just keep paying for this as long as it runs. David Lynch is back in perfect form at his lynchiest.

I don't advertise on here often, like almost ever these days. Slots generally get snapped up within minutes, so people who aren't on fa all the time complained they could never get work from me so i got a system that seems to work better and if you're patient, everybody gets work that really wants it.
If you want work from me, even if commissions aren't open, send me a note and tag commission inquiry for the subject, tell me what you'de like to get, whether it's a sketch or a full detail, i'll tell you what it's going to cost. When a slot opens i pretty much start at the top of the list and ask them if they want the slot. I'll wait about a day and if i don't get a response i move onto the next guy till the slot is filled. Generally it's a good idea if you don't check notes to add me on telegram or skype where you can actually be reached.
I have a pretty strict "do a commish take a commish" policy so while commissions aren't always open, they open up somewhat frequently.

Posted 9 years agoI been telling liberals and democrats for months that they're being foolish thinking trump can't win. I was telling democrats during the primary that clinton is a DISASTER of a candidate in the making, even during the primary 75% of the people who were planning to vote for her said they didn't trust her iirc. The only reason she even made it as far as she did is because both parties managed to get the biggest turd they could muster as their chosen one somehow. No matter who was gonna lose this they were going to go down in history as being the most inept candidate ever who squandered the easiest election ever.
The perverse pleasure comes from of course the supposed to be neutral DNC putting their thumb on the scale for somebody they knew would toe the donor corporatist line, even though it was obvious people are sick of the fucking line. Meanwhile sanders, the most liked member of congress who even his sworn ideological enemies poll saying he's a trustworthy genuine guy puts up a helluva fight from absolute obscurity, actually energizes the hell out of the base, polls as a FAR tougher opponent in simulated elections than hillary against ALL of the republicans and a guy who raked in the independents from both teh right and the left and the DNC slanders his enormous and important base as sexists, bernie bros, slanders them as violent chair throwers in made up nonsense. They sick everything they got against him while pretending to be neutral (Wikileaks has of course demonstrated this is true). THen they FIRE the woman who was responsible when she's caught...who is promptly hired by hillary. She might as well have just walked up to ever sanders supporter and liberal wing of the democrat party member and personally spit in their eye.
The perverse pleasure doesn't of course come from trump winning. Trump's a blithering idiot. But it comes from the DNC bringing this on themselves and pissing away the most winnable election in history, and i really hope they learn from it.
I just hope this is the slap in the face the democratic party needs to wake the fuck up, look in a mirror and see what they've become. A much needed reformation of the democratic party into ya know, a left leaning party as opposed to left of the republicans (Which isn't left at all.) might be worth taking the bullet of 4 years of trump.
All i know is I personally wouldn't have won with either candidate being an actual liberal, and the democrats absolutely deserved to lose. Both sides deserved to lose but of course somebody has to win.
As one of those rare gun fanatic liberals, i lose and win a bit no matter which way this could have gone. If anybody was going to further chip away at my gun rights it's probably hillary, but first and foremost i support science and reason, and anybody else who does lost BIG tonight. And you can thank the democrats for that.

Digital artists. Monitor calibration tips?
Posted 9 years agoSo soon as i have a little extra cash i'm buying a nice reference monitor and a colorimeter, i really need one. But i just got a cintique thanks to the always awesome 
retronwolf. Part of me wants to let it sit here till i can get a monitor that like, actually displays something remotely resembling accurate colors and contrasts as i plan to do pretty high detailed stuff. Another part of me is thinking that i can probably turn out some nice looking things till i can get a reference monitor.
I"m just curious how the hell you other digital artists calibrate your displays? Obviously i'm aware of the calibration screens but they only seem useful for brightness and contrast (both my monitors fail at that miserably, like REALLY bad. Cheap acers).
Any tips of this would be very appreciated.

Answer some questions to me about VR if you could?
Posted 9 years agoSo, I'm developing games for VR. Specifically the HTC Vive. Sorry, it's not porn and it's not furry :P I do have a life and ambitions outside heavy pendulous balls ya know. But as a guy who got a free vive and couldn't otherwise afford one and has studio space that gives us the max 15x15 room scale area, i'm wondering what the rest of you plebs have and how much you might be interested in the VR in general?
1. Do you have any interest in VR? (if no just say no and don't worry about the other questions)
2. Do you own a vr system? if yes, which one?
3. Are you interested in the Vive specifically?
4. How much space do you have available for room scale movement?
5. do you get motion sickness from 3d stuff?
5.5. Have you tried VR games with independent motion (traditional movement, not room scale) and do THEY make you motion sick?
6. What kind of games would you like to see being made for vr. (Our first thing is horror. Going to be making horror/action/shooter stuff in general for the core audience.)
As for my opinion on vr if you're wondering. It's a revelation, seriously. At least the vive is. the sheer level of immersion makes even completely mundane scenarios absolutely nerve wracking in intense games and there really isn't a whole lot of compelling software out for it yet which i'll be changing soon, but despite the very few things to do on it, it's insanely fun and fresh.
I honestly only consider the Vive to be VR. I've played around with the oculus at a developer thingy i went to and it's well....a 3d tv you strap to your face while you sit there with an xbox controller, it was incredibly uninteresting compared to the vive which is just incredibly immersive and really amazing tech and really feels like you're in a virtual reality.
I don't get motion sickness like at all, but my programmer does, and it took him a few hours to fully adjust to traditional movement in vr, now it's second nature to him. It took me about a minute to adjust. I find a lot of the negative hype over motion sickness is just that, negative hype, haters, sure some people will have issues with it but from my experience with many others who've used our setup, you just gotta get your "VR legs" and then it's as natural as playing a fps on a monitor.
But yeah, if you could answer these questions I would appreciate it. It might help future decisions we make. Also gonna auction a couple originals soon! If you want some of my original pencil work i'm gonna be putting some up for auction but i'm going to try it right here on FA in the comment's section just to see how it turns out so keep an eye out for that!

Posted 9 years agoWell sorta. I have to move yet again extremely unexpectedly this monday but that's only a few hours away so that won't take up too much time.
Anyways, just a rambling little journal to accompany an epic flood of porn to make my triumphant return to FA. I would have done it earlier but well, you know....
Moving halfway across the country, starting a new life in a new strange state (Texas) and meeting practically for the first time an entire half of my extended family ate up....shit loads of time as did my work which i came out here to do (vidya) now that i live close to my programmer. Been making a 7 hour round trip to where he lives twice a month for work weekends, fucking sucks so i'm looking forward to moving once and for all to College Station which was my original destination. It looked like I was going to stay in San Antonio for awhile but that just suddenly out of nowhere changed, so i'm off again on monday.
But, for a bit now i've been drawing like crazy as you might have noticed, getting caught up on mailing, posting and commissions. A lot of those are pretty old stuff that I just didn't have time to post. The last 6 months of my life have been utterly insanely hectic. I wanna make a big apology to all my commissioners and thank them for bearing with me. Once i get to my new place and get settled i'll be jamming through my queu which i've kept pretty small. I've been finishing more slots than i've been taking in anticipation of possibly ceasing commissions all together sometime this year or early next year that's not a certainty though.
But yeah, since then a lot has happened. After the absurd amount of time it took getting all the documents, drivers licenses, conceal carry license, insurance, car registrations documents to get all that shit, and everything i need to be established here, i had to go to seemingly endless out of town visits, birthdays, kids birthdays, group dinners, one on one dinners to get acquainted with my big extended family here, then meeting my business partner for the first time, meeting his family etc etc it took me a long time to get back to normal life. But i'm pretty much back.
Just random shit from my adventure...
The drive down to texas from the SF bay area was horrible. I thought i could do like 34 hours of driving in 48 hours, i did manage to do it while staying in a hotel one night and at one point realizing how exhausted i was just pulling over on the side of the road and crashing for 4 hours. I think i'm gonna have nightmares of the I-10 for the rest of my life, it NEVER FUCKING ENDS lol. And the speed limit is like 90 mph and it's so flat you can only see about 30 feet in front of your car when you're driving at night which is when i did the vast majority of my driving. It's terrifying.
I finally arrive only to have some dipshit 17 year old girl plow into my car while it was parked and total it. So i get a new car.....which has now been vandalized 3 fucking times just totally randomly. Not a single person i've met here has ever had their car get randomly bashed in with a bat or a hammer or keyed and in 7 weeks all of those have happened to me for seemingly no reason. My business partner says it's because of my wild hair (I let it grow out and do it's own thing for a bit between haircuts. My cousin says i look like a 70's ken doll.) and the fact that i'm in shape and wear well fitting clothes, he says people probably assume i'm gay and just fuck with my car after they see me get out of it. Needless to say it's insanely frustrating. I've been driving since i was 17 and have never gotten so much as a knick or scratch on a car in my life, and i get here and it's like the whole world is out to get my cars.
I came here to work and have a low cost of living, but i also came here for my shooting hobby! I'm going to have my own private steel range on my business partner's land set up (assuming it ever fucking stops raining), i picked up a glock 43 and a colt 6920 ar15, got my carry license FINALLY after passing with a perfect score (my shooting qualification target was basically one hole over the X).
I apparently arrived right before the most insane bunch of biblical weather texas has ever seen. The lightning storms endlessly fascinate me and after having baseball sized hail break almost every skylight in the house and trash all my neighbors cars (mine was garaged thank god), i'm now terrified of hail. I was looking forward to moving to College station to get away from the insane weather here and the week i plan to go there's a tornado and hail lol.
But yeah, i've had a pretty insane spate of rotten luck lately starting off with a retard sticking a drill down the barrel of my 3600 dollar pistol only a week after it spent 2 months after the custom shop fixing the damage the LAST retard did to it. Still waiting to hear if the range that employs the idiot who did it is going to take responsibility for it and replace the barrel and NP3+ treatment i JUST had put on it. A bunch of other things too, it's sorta wearing me down.
My little business i started is going awesome! We got into the valve Vive developer program so we're now developing for the vive. It's fucking amazing. Expect to see cool shit with that in the coming months.
But yeah, i dunno...random observations of texas.
1. Everything has meat in it, even things that never have meat in them. It's hazardous to be a vegetarian here. Even if i clarify that something has no meat on it they bring me something with fucking meat on it. They're truly baffled by the concept of being a vegetarian. I don't think most people have ever encountered one.
2. Everybody is super friendly (except the cocksuckers that keep messing with my car.), literally the opposite of my experience in Arizona where people wouldn't even serve me at a restaurant if they saw i had california plates. Here, if people hear i moved from california they're like "Took you long enough! Welcome to texas!". Everybody is seriously so nice out here. nicer than in the bay area on average i'd say.
3. Weed is hard to find and not very good. At least not near as good as it was back in california. Having it is also apparently like....an actual crime :\
4. If i buy a gun i actually get to put it in a bag and walk away after i pay. It's AWESOME haha.
5. It took weeks for my brain to process just how different the place looks. The sun is actually noticably brighter than it was in northern california. it was super weird when i got here. The flatness also was fucking with my brain. It just looked weird. I'm used to not being able to see more than a half mile or so in any direction from all the hills and mountains in the bay area. Also the water towers. it's just weird for me seeing those everywhere.
6. It's an ugly state at least compared to california where i lived. I took the beauty of the bay area seriously for granted.
But yeah, I'm back! That flood isn't even all the upload backlog. I got a couple auction pieces i'm going to post and i want to make a game related journal/survey. Will probably do those tommorrow! If you're waiting on your commission and i know some of you are, i'm drawing like crazy now so just bare with me a little longer.

To everybody who donated to my ferret raffle. Money is spent
Posted 9 years agoGonna make this pretty brief. I just wanted to thank everybody who was nice enough to donate some of their hard earned money to the raffle to try and save Scud the ferret. Unfortunately he's had a sudden rapid deterioration and it's become clear he's not coming back from it. Spent most of the money on medication and an emergency vet visit the other day when he was basically in a coma. Despite their wishes, i tried to see if he could make it. Woke up this morning and saw him and realized it's just not going to happen and i can't stand to see him like this for another hour.
He was a big part of my streams and a lot of people looked forward to the scud portion of the stream. But i just wanted to thank everybody who went out of their way to help me out in dealing with this. Biggest props to zaush, heartstring pony, valnos and muriat and partran for donating the lions share of the money. It didn't save him but it gave him a fighting chance.
Everybody who knows me and scud knows we're pretty inseparable. I'll admit i'm not handling this very well so if you chat with me or know me, just understand i might not be around much for the next day or two.

Posted 10 years agoI've been so goddamned busy, i've totally been neglecting fa and all the awesome peeps here, I didn't even notice I finally surpassed the 10k watcher mark, that's super cool! Thanks to everybody who likes to see my work and encourages and supports me with comments, commissions, auctions etc. There's so many great people here and I can't tell you how much it means to me that people enjoy my porn, it does a lot to motivate me to keep making it! Mainly my dick does, but I appreciate that so many people enjoy my work.
My life is hectic as fuck but pretty interesting lately, I figure I should give some updates on things and apologize for letting life get in the way of my duties as commissionable artist, I'm really doing everything i can to get caught up but fuck is it hard to manage my time with so much going on. I'm gonna give some updates on things going on in my life that have come up here because people ask me about them and i've made journals about them.
Probably TL;DR, but i'll break it up into relevant sections.
1. Scud the ferrets health and the Scud Raffle.
Basically it's closed, and I am working to get caught up on the things i owe for it as well as just about everything else.
I took it down from my featured submission and the scud raffle which was my attempt to make it worth peoples while to try and fund an absurdly expensive surgery for my beloved pet ferret was well, a complete flop and it didn't even come close and almost nobody was interested, i'm not terribly surprised, it was a long shot but I figured i'd give it a go. I raised about enough money to take him to the vet to get more detailed information about what exactly needs to be done, and that's it. I still have the money, and since I can't fund the surgery anyways, i'm not sure what to do but It will be spent on him. If anybody has advice I wouldn't mind it. The money i've raised would cover his initial visit to a new vet which i have realized i need (Pretty sure my normal vet are not honest at this point.), the follow up and part of the anesthesia/MRI to look at his jaw tumor. I couldn't even begin to afford the surgery now.
As for his health, the doom and gloom i was given to try to in hindsight, pressure me into making a decision from my old vet has only partially come true. His mouth tumor is still growing, but it's slowed down a lot. They claimed by october of LAST YEAR iirc that he would be incapable of eating at the rate it appeared to be growing (They also claimed he had adrenal disease and i paid them thousands of dollars for meds, which i ceased due to my money having to be spent on supporting my father....well, he doesn't even fucking have adrenal disease at all. I'm pretty sure this vet has been hosing me for years, that or they're just grossly incompetent. They're the only vet with a ferret vet for hours, and I'm not going to use them anymore that's for damn sure.). Well the tumor is still growing, it's branched off into little tumors on top of tumors. At one point his food would get stuck between it and the other side of his jaw on the roof of his mouth, but then it got a little bigger so that the kibble pieces don't fit. He's the fattest summer weight he's had in ages, and seems as far as i can tell, totally comfortable, and unaware he even has this issue. It is a problem that will need to be dealt with for sure, hence why i'm so hesitant to do anything with the small amount of money i raised just yet. But scud is fat and happy and lazy as fuck as usual, other than the tumor, he's very healthy for an older ferret. I am 100% honoring everything with the raffle, i got all the stuff here, i gotta do another draw, which i will do shortly soon as this work project is sorted out.
2. My dad's health issues. I made several journals about this when his mental issues started arising looking for advice and just wanting to talk to others who have gone through this, i was pretty terrified. Not sure if i've ever followed up on how it all ended up, but this is probably the biggest impact on my life and productivity on fa right now. Basically what we and the doctors feared was a VERY rapid onset alzheimers thankfully isn't, but what he actually does have pretty much sucks. He's got a very vague seeming general thing they just call mild cognitive impairment or MCI, basically mild brain damage that affects for him, mainly his memory and focus. They think it was brought on by decades of poorly managing his type 1 diabetes, smoking, and the year or two of secret alcoholism he had unbeknownst to us after the recession pretty much destroyed his business and life. His career is over, he doesn't have the focus to bag groceries (He tried that, it didn't work out :\) much less create amazing works of art in the form of jewelry like he did for 30 years. This has left him unable to work or support himself and so that burden has fallen on me and my brother. I'm pretty much in a constant scramble to scrape together the money I need to support myself as well as him. It's been a huge financial burden I never expected i would take on, that's what's been keeping me so busy.
He's had some periods of deep decline where he can hardly even remember who i am or carry a simple conversation, and periods of like lately, where he almost seems normal if you didn't know what he was like before. The lengthy period of decline that's been going on for months we think now might have been due to a malfunctioning insulin pump where he was pretty much in a low blood sugar stupor for the longest time, because he got the pump replaced when they realized it was giving false readings and incorrectly metered boluses of insulin and he seems way more cognizant, so that's good at least. He's far from normal but he seems a bit more like my dad now.
3. Posting, Drawing and Mailing porn. Other than a few extreme problem commissions that have stretched on for embarrassingly long just due to my own lack of ability, iv'e been drawing a lot more than my activity here would indicate. I'm doing commissions, keeping my queu small and enjoying it where i can. I need privacy and time to draw porn and both have been in very short supply lately due to my other work, but i'm getting shit done. But, i'm basically a bit behind on everything, mailing, posting, all of that due to work and a seemingly endless series lately of out of town guests. Bout to post a flood of porn so enjoy that! I take the time to do this stuff where i can get it. If you're waiting for art in the mail, yours will be going out now that i finally got a little breathing room, but packaging stuff so that the post office is incapable of mangling it and sitting in line at the worlds busiest post office take a ton of time but i'm getting through it.
4. What i've been up to. Basically me and a guy started a company making vidya games and vidya game accessories. We make games and we make tools to make games and sell the tools and game assets and it's awesome but fuck is it a lot of work. Our first beta product was surprisingly successful charting at iirc, number 7 out of like 10,000 charting assets on the unity store the month it released. We're currently in crunch time to get the full release out as well as a sorta satellite asset then we're finishing up two fun little mobile games we have sitting at about 75 to 80% completed before making our first more ambitious game. But this has had me wearing a ton of hats and learning a ton of art stuff I've always wanted to dig into but never had the time. I'm enjoying the hell out of it and we're making money but it's a shit load of work, and i don't get paid till things release, and LLC law allows only for me to be paid from our company coffers 6 times a year so I'm making ends meet and supporting my dad off that and filling in the gaps with patronage from fa. For awhile i had the freedom to draw anytime i want, now i have to take it where i can get it. While i got less time to draw, i still go the policy of not taking on a commish till i complete a commish so i'm definitely not letting myself get buried under a massive commission queu.
But yeah, so that's my life lately. I haven't made a personal journal in ages and I feel like i've been neglecting fa and owe an explanation for my slowness lately. Brb, posting a bunch of porn!
My life is hectic as fuck but pretty interesting lately, I figure I should give some updates on things and apologize for letting life get in the way of my duties as commissionable artist, I'm really doing everything i can to get caught up but fuck is it hard to manage my time with so much going on. I'm gonna give some updates on things going on in my life that have come up here because people ask me about them and i've made journals about them.
Probably TL;DR, but i'll break it up into relevant sections.
1. Scud the ferrets health and the Scud Raffle.
Basically it's closed, and I am working to get caught up on the things i owe for it as well as just about everything else.
I took it down from my featured submission and the scud raffle which was my attempt to make it worth peoples while to try and fund an absurdly expensive surgery for my beloved pet ferret was well, a complete flop and it didn't even come close and almost nobody was interested, i'm not terribly surprised, it was a long shot but I figured i'd give it a go. I raised about enough money to take him to the vet to get more detailed information about what exactly needs to be done, and that's it. I still have the money, and since I can't fund the surgery anyways, i'm not sure what to do but It will be spent on him. If anybody has advice I wouldn't mind it. The money i've raised would cover his initial visit to a new vet which i have realized i need (Pretty sure my normal vet are not honest at this point.), the follow up and part of the anesthesia/MRI to look at his jaw tumor. I couldn't even begin to afford the surgery now.
As for his health, the doom and gloom i was given to try to in hindsight, pressure me into making a decision from my old vet has only partially come true. His mouth tumor is still growing, but it's slowed down a lot. They claimed by october of LAST YEAR iirc that he would be incapable of eating at the rate it appeared to be growing (They also claimed he had adrenal disease and i paid them thousands of dollars for meds, which i ceased due to my money having to be spent on supporting my father....well, he doesn't even fucking have adrenal disease at all. I'm pretty sure this vet has been hosing me for years, that or they're just grossly incompetent. They're the only vet with a ferret vet for hours, and I'm not going to use them anymore that's for damn sure.). Well the tumor is still growing, it's branched off into little tumors on top of tumors. At one point his food would get stuck between it and the other side of his jaw on the roof of his mouth, but then it got a little bigger so that the kibble pieces don't fit. He's the fattest summer weight he's had in ages, and seems as far as i can tell, totally comfortable, and unaware he even has this issue. It is a problem that will need to be dealt with for sure, hence why i'm so hesitant to do anything with the small amount of money i raised just yet. But scud is fat and happy and lazy as fuck as usual, other than the tumor, he's very healthy for an older ferret. I am 100% honoring everything with the raffle, i got all the stuff here, i gotta do another draw, which i will do shortly soon as this work project is sorted out.
2. My dad's health issues. I made several journals about this when his mental issues started arising looking for advice and just wanting to talk to others who have gone through this, i was pretty terrified. Not sure if i've ever followed up on how it all ended up, but this is probably the biggest impact on my life and productivity on fa right now. Basically what we and the doctors feared was a VERY rapid onset alzheimers thankfully isn't, but what he actually does have pretty much sucks. He's got a very vague seeming general thing they just call mild cognitive impairment or MCI, basically mild brain damage that affects for him, mainly his memory and focus. They think it was brought on by decades of poorly managing his type 1 diabetes, smoking, and the year or two of secret alcoholism he had unbeknownst to us after the recession pretty much destroyed his business and life. His career is over, he doesn't have the focus to bag groceries (He tried that, it didn't work out :\) much less create amazing works of art in the form of jewelry like he did for 30 years. This has left him unable to work or support himself and so that burden has fallen on me and my brother. I'm pretty much in a constant scramble to scrape together the money I need to support myself as well as him. It's been a huge financial burden I never expected i would take on, that's what's been keeping me so busy.
He's had some periods of deep decline where he can hardly even remember who i am or carry a simple conversation, and periods of like lately, where he almost seems normal if you didn't know what he was like before. The lengthy period of decline that's been going on for months we think now might have been due to a malfunctioning insulin pump where he was pretty much in a low blood sugar stupor for the longest time, because he got the pump replaced when they realized it was giving false readings and incorrectly metered boluses of insulin and he seems way more cognizant, so that's good at least. He's far from normal but he seems a bit more like my dad now.
3. Posting, Drawing and Mailing porn. Other than a few extreme problem commissions that have stretched on for embarrassingly long just due to my own lack of ability, iv'e been drawing a lot more than my activity here would indicate. I'm doing commissions, keeping my queu small and enjoying it where i can. I need privacy and time to draw porn and both have been in very short supply lately due to my other work, but i'm getting shit done. But, i'm basically a bit behind on everything, mailing, posting, all of that due to work and a seemingly endless series lately of out of town guests. Bout to post a flood of porn so enjoy that! I take the time to do this stuff where i can get it. If you're waiting for art in the mail, yours will be going out now that i finally got a little breathing room, but packaging stuff so that the post office is incapable of mangling it and sitting in line at the worlds busiest post office take a ton of time but i'm getting through it.
