Reptile people. Got a lizard in a box here. Not sure wat do
Posted 10 years agoSo we got our first rain in awhile here in california today. My stupid rat ferret pissed on the carpet downstairs after he snuck out of my room. I go to get a sopping wet towel that i now use as a rag out of the back yard that was draped on a bench. Go inside, treat the carpet and then notice there's a sopping wet, freezing cold, stiff, and totally unresponsive but alive blue belly lizard on the carpet where the towel was. It looks fat, possibly ready to lay some eggs or something. Unusually fat for a blue belly. EDIT: This thing. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u.....2/DSC00937.JPG
I"m pretty sure that it went to shield itself from the rain under the rain under the towel and got trapped underneath it by the weight of sopping wet fabric. I don't know what lizards do to survive rain but i assume it's not wrap themselves in a freezing cold and sopping wet rag.
It'll run a few steps now if i fuck with it but yeah, it doesn't seem to be doing too well. I got it in a box in the bathroom with a space heater near it, pretty soon that room will be like 90 degrees. Figure getting it's body temp up a bit will do it good before i gotta put it back outside.
I dunno, it doesn't look like it's doing great. any advice?
Also i totally got a sketch commission slot open. Somebody take it lol. I could even draw porn of the lizard for you.

Any good furry TF2 servers?
Posted 10 years agoSpecifically fairly vanilla, not single map, in the us
Preferably spray friendly, no all talk in large games.
I currently play on the furry pound but it's kinda shit these days and I'm looking for somewhere else. Seems like the only other servers that are active are either gimmicky mods or 2fort only. There are lots of other furry servers I'm aware of that have like, never had a person in them.

About those sketch stream commissions...
Posted 10 years agoJust a PSA, cuz these seem to be fairly popular and i 'ts come up a few times.
Some look a bit more polished than others because some people will throw me an extra 20 or 30 bucks to simply buy another hour or two of labor. I try to make them all look good but there is a time limit on them otherwise it's just not worth doing them, i'm pretty happy with all the ones i've done, and obviously more happy with the ones that i spent an extra hour or two on but two people now have asked me why i spent X time on one and Y time on theirs and that's why. Also some VERY good patrons of mine buy them sometimes and basically awesome repeat patrons get free shit here and there, whether it's free time or free pics. I appreciate everybody who commissions me, i just don't want there to be a misunderstanding with these sketch commissions in particular.

Canine or human cock? POLL
Posted 10 years agoJust curious. I plan to do a pic soon with two fairly well known cartoon foxes that are responsible for like, half the fandom probably. I know one was responsible for warping MY fragile little mind as a child. I've been meaning to do it for awhile and it will be my first foray into rule 34.
The pic will be hot to me for my own personal reasons but i'm curious what you guys would prefer? Human or canine dick so by all means chime in!
Also not to harp on it but i JUST posted a journal that's getting overridden so i'll mention it. Got a simple little original up for sale on furbuy here https://www.furbuy.com/auctions/1066186.html that's at a low price with only a couple hours left so if ya ever wanted to support me or own some of my original pencial work check it out!

If you can have a worse new years eve than what i just had..
Posted 10 years agoI can't imagine what it would be like lol. New Years Eve is ripe for disaster. Tell me i'm not the only one that had an utterly awful night haha
California gun owners. WE WON!
Posted 11 years agoTo those of you in california who are into guns and believe in a right to self defense. The peruta v san diego case that's been dragging on for ages. The attorney general, that bitch Kamela Harris was denied intervention so that means WE WON.
Barring some insanely unlikely legal shenanigans, march 6th california becomes a shall issue state for conceal carry licenses.
As somebody who's probably only around to provide you all with free porn because I had access to a gun at the right time (twice) I'm fucking ecstatic. This is something i care very strongly about.
So yeah, if you live in california, come march 6th if you aren't a felon or crazy person, you can apply for a conceal carry weapons permit for general self defense and you will be accepted.
Oh also cuz I just posted it and it's no longer on my front page upon posting this I have a commission slot open lol. Note me or contact me via IM if you want it. My contact info is in my profile.
CELEBRATE!

So I just got done talking with about a dozen liberals...
Posted 11 years agoOf these dozen 12 of them were all very pissed off, depressed, or frightened about the outcome of the election.
Of these dozen, 8 of them lived in states where we just lost something important.
Of these dozen only 1 voted in the midterm and that one lived in a state where liberals don't even need to vote (Cali).
Seriously. This happens almost every midterm. Can ANYBODY enlighten me on why the hell this happens? Why did almost nobody under 35 vote?
I got no real explanation from any of these people why they didn't vote. A few said it slipped their mind. One said he was registered but didn't make it out to the poll and the others said they had to work which of course isn't any excuse at all. My buddy had to work so he did a VBM ballot.
I mean seriously...how do people not understand that congress is more important than the fucking whitehouse. All of these guys claim they voted in the last general election and only ONE voted in the midterm.
I'm just irritated right now and out of almost ten thousand people watching me, there's gotta be hundreds or a thousand that live in these states, are under 35 and didn't vote but have voted in the past. Plus, I just got done watching a compilation of many the political ads that ran in red southern states. I didn't see a single one with even a modicum of actual political substance and i saw about a half dozen that waved bibles and guns in front of the camera and literally that's it. How is this the voice that speaks to a large segment of america? HOW? Why on earth would you vote for a politician that can't even touch on a single issue of policy?

Times they are a changin...
Posted 11 years agoSo I just smoked a joint with my mom earlier this evening. I seriously never thought I'd see the day.
I actually went over there to show her how to do it because her earlier attempt she "wasn't sure if she was high" and didn't see any smoke.
I dunno, I just thought it was a surreal thing. She is definitely about the least adventurous person I have ever met.

Live sketch commissions!?
Posted 11 years agoSo I got a commission slot open (technically 2 but one is spoken for, just not paid for at this moment so it's technically open.) and awhile back when my ferret got adrenal disease I needed to raise cash quick and wanted a change of pace so I opened up low price sketch commissions like http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9160240/ and people seemed to really enjoy it and it raised the money to buy my ferrets first lot of meds and get him to the vet and have bloodwork done and reverse the disease.
As I'm sure many of you are tired of hearingI thought instead of taking a larger piece I might devote a slot every few slots to doing some live sketch commissions. I'm enjoying livestream drawing and it helps keep me focused and not screwing around on the internet too much. You can watch while i draw your pic and direct me how ya want it.
Anybody interested? They're 40 bucks for the one characters which is about 1/3rd the price of my normal commissions and I'm thinking of taking a few a week to keep my chops up and it would help add to the ferret cancer operation fund. Keep in mind they're probably look a bit better as i've refined my technique a bit now.
So would anybody be interested? Keep in mind I work without pose or anatomy reference and If i'm to do these live I have to be at least a bit conservative with posing unless the commissioner has a pose reference for me to work from.

Ferret surgery raffle update.
Posted 11 years agoSo I decided for the first two raffle drawings (The first free commission and the first free original.) I wanted to do some sort of a live stream hangout, draw and chat a bit then let the ferret draw the winners at some point during it. I wanted to do it today but I'm trying to work out the logistics of streaming traditional art so it will most likely be this week or next weekend but it's definitely happening once I can figure this out.
If anybody has any advice on a good setup for streaming traditional hand drawn art I'd love to hear it. I might try and get one of those cheap shitty swingarm lamps and just attach a camera to it or something. Not sure. So bear with me here and thanks for everybody that's played so far!
If you don't know what I'm talking about I'm doing a ladder raffle of sorts to raise funds for a much needed operation for my ferret whom I adore. Everybody that plays gets consolation desktop art as well as future art that will be added to this including some really nice stuff. You can read all about it in the header ^^^^^^

I do believe it's time for a free commission! + more swag
Posted 11 years agoAnother Scud-pdate. IF you want some cool exclusive art, to help out an artists best friend, and a good shot at winning one or more fancy full detail commissions check the link in the header ^^^ Costs virtually nothing to play, everybody gets art! Even two bucks gets ya the clean and sexy version of an exclusive desktop but most importantly, it puts me a bit closer to saving my little guy's life and he's running out of time. 6 bucks gets you all the desktops and 10 bucks gets you all there is to get and ten shots at a free commission i normally charge about 120 bucks for.
So 48 hours in and I'm at 10% of my rough but fairly lofty goal. This goal will at least get him through the surgery and hopefully cover at least some of the follow up meds. But at this rate if this keeps going this thing will be funded in no time and he'll get a long happy life.
All I gotta say is that whether you played cuz you want the "free" art or my commissions were a bit above your budget and you hope to win one of them, whether you love animals or you wanted to just help out an artist that's been providing you with free smut for the better of a decade, I am DEEPLY moved that any of you, let alone several of you would participate in this. You people are wonderful and I take back some of the horrible things I say every day about you behind your backs! Everybody is wishing me luck on this though and again, i'm seriously moved by the support.
But, I think this is a good time to give away the first of hopefully many free commissions as well as the first special drawing to win one of the originals signed by me and my man Scud himself. I'd like you, the players or interested party's opinions on how to go about this.
My initial idea was to make it fun and silly, and thank you in person. That you're willing to do this makes me down to give up my precious anonymity to meet ya cuz it would be weird talking to nobody on camera. Maybe a live web cast/google hangout, chat a bit, let you meet me and meet the ferret himself, stick some tape on his harness and let him frolic around in a box of tickets to draw the winners himself, then hang out for a bit, drink a good beer chat and maybe stream some commission shading/drawing for a bit.
It's a silly idea but it could be a lot of fun and ive always been curious about trying out a livestream of some kind.
If nobody cares, i can just film the drawing and make a cute little gif of it and post it here to announce the winners. But do please let me know if you would like to do that, would probably schedule it for a saturday afternoon or evening, maybe a sunday.
Also, I've decided to keep producing stuff for this but to make sure my commissioners know that i'm back to regularly scheduled commission work and i'll be posting some stuff fairly soon.
But, i think in my spare time i'll work on a few things, maybe some more desktops a bit more refined (I was out of paper on those so they're a bit smaller than i normally work.). Everybody who's played will get them free on the tier of the ladder they already played so no need to double dip (I got nothing against double dipping though, just sayin >.>). Also planning a pic that is definitley gonna be uncharted waters for me that i hope will motivate a few people.
So keep an eye out here for the additional stuff, and let me know if you'de be up for a fun but brief gathering, grab a beer, see some art (maybe, no idea how i'd stream traditional art since my nose is usually like inches from the paper.)

Thanks again guys!
Scud Gum Raffle update, Ferret update.
Posted 11 years agoIf you don't know what I'm talking about look here http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14356640/ basically i'm selling exclusive artwork super cheap and everybody who buys it gets several shots of winning free full detail commissions. Think of it as a raffle with nice consolation prizes to fund a cancer operation for my beloved ferret Scud.
so after 18 hours I've raised almost 200 bucks from a small group of people out of my 3000 dollar rough goal. It's not a bad start but I got a long way to go.. I can't thank everybody who's participated enough. If this momentum keeps going i'll do the first of hopefully many free commission live drawings soon so keep an eye out on my journals for when i'll be doing that.
One thing i've found odd is all the messages and PM's of people saying they want to commission me in the future but don't feel right just sending 2 bucks for a ticket and a free desktop. That's sortof the point. I'm not looking for a bunch of big spenders here, this is sortof an attempt at crowd funding but giving a reward to EVERYBODY. Almost anybody can afford 2 bucks and everybody here likes furry smut. So if you feel like you're taking advantage of me doing that, don't!
I'm pretty sure I'm current on sending out the complementary artwork. If you've NOT received the right art or any art at all, just note me and i'll fix it. I'm not the most organized person on earth but I'm working out a system for keeping track of this.
I'm about to get back to regularly scheduled commissions now that I got a bit of time away from my mom (knee replacement surgery, been spending most of my last week or so cooking and running errands for her.) but i'll also devote a little time to something else that might be fun and sweeten the deal a bit and I'm sure all you horny bastards will enjoy it. Definitely gonna be a shift in my work here and i think you guys will like it.
Also wanted to give a Scud update, a Scudpdate if you will. So when I first even pitched this idea, i got a handful of generous unsolicited donations. Those got him to the vet for an exploratory visit and a checkup. This tumor once it started growing really fast has covered up several of the teeth behind his right front fang. They're buried inside it. Apparently this isn't a super uncommon ailment but oral surgery on a ferret is not cheap and requires a lot of meds to fight infections. What it can also do is basically partially dissolve the teeth inside the tumor. It's not uncommon for teeth to need to be removed when this happens. So my next goal is to get him in for an MRI to better assess the situation because if the teeth are severely damaged it will be a lot less stressful for the ferret AND my wallet if I can get them removed while he he's down for the cancer operation, assuming I ever come up with the money for this.
Also if anybody knows any bay area california ferret specific vets that are good by all means let me know. I'll probably shop around for the surgery.
Either way, thanks to EVERYBODY who's played, thanks to the few who've tweeted and journal'd about it. That's a big help!

Cheap exclusive art and 2 dollar commishes for a good cause!
Posted 11 years agoHi. I'm doing an art "giveaway" and raffle to try and raise at least some of the money for my beloved ferret's cancer operation.
If you've appreciated my work over the years and would like to get some sweet exclusive art for only a few bucks (6 to get it all actually) but also to help me with something of the utmost importance I would appreciate if you would check out the thing I'm doing.
If this works out I'll be giving away a lot of free full detail commissions.
I would super appreciate it if you could check it out and/or do some sort of signal boost. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/14356640/
Thanks for enjoying my work over the years.

Ecig users/vapers. Looking to upgrade maybe you can help me
Posted 11 years agoSo basically I was a dinosaur, i had an old 510 used for the longest time. Got me off 2 packs a day for 15 years of cigarettes. Best decision i ever made.
I always just direct dripped and it was finnicky as hell but it did the job, gave me a decent throat hit with not great vapor, but throat his is key. Finally decided to upgrade and just got an ego EVOD mod which was awesome at first but man, the performance has gone to shit on it in only a week.
Throat hit is VERY important to me, i can't stand ecigs unless i get that. At first i'd get two hours of great throat hit on a fresh battery (only have one atm) now i get like literally 5 minutes before the vapor output and throat hit just go to shit. In less than 2 weeks i've replaced the coil 3 times but i think hte battery is the issue. If this is an indicator of what to expect just maintaining this setup, fuck just buying more ego batteries.
So i'm thinking what to do about an upgrade and have to deal with the least amount of finnickyness and get the most consistent strong throat hit possible with the 18mg 80% pg solution i get super cheap and like.
Looking at my options i can upgrade to something that is a next step up but for another 10 bucks theres something that might be much better.
Basically i've determined that i probably need a variable wattage device, the innokin VV battery looks awesome but i've really got my eye on the iTaste mvp 2.
Maybe people with similar needs to mine can recommend a good setup that is cheap and does what i'm looking to do, i'm happy to just use my EVOD tank, when my battery is performing well the throat hit is awesome for what i like.
All i want is a setup that's not expensive (sub 60 bucks), gives an awesome throat hit and does it consistently, not enormous (would rather not have a one pound hunk of steel in my back pocket), not finicky, and probably variable wattage which i think is necessary to get the consistency i want and ideally a pass through as i'm at my computer desk drawing all the time.
If you can recommend anything and any place to get it from cheaply that won't give me a shitty knockoff i would appreciate it. I'm sure theres a ton of options i'm not aware of and i want to spend as little as possible.

Only last statement on my last journal which became a C-fuck
Posted 11 years ago So that journal got to the point where that was just a ton of bickering, which is fine, I didn't expect that but I didn't not expect that. I would continue with it but my cat died and it put me in a bit of a funk and I just can't do it and I don't care to do it right now.
Once I got my web of science subscription and piggy back access to a university library archive years ago when I embarked on a nearly 3 year learning project about the subject of climate change, one of the ways as a skeptic I learn things is to argue with and fact check contrarian claims against the only real reliable source of information in a matter of science, the scientific body of literature. There got to a certain point when I debunked all their claims and just haven't really heard any new ones since, so I'm just not that interested in arguing about the subject that much, in part because I no longer have access to all the scientific journals like I used to and the people I argue with generally don't even know how you get that access. But also my desire for knowledge on the subject isn't really served by it anymore (I still read the popular denialist blogs though here and there.)
So, this is the only thing I'm gonna say and I probably won't reply to this either for the reasons I mentioned above. It will probably piss some of you off. I don't give a shit. I will TRY to keep this as short as possible.
To me it's pretty fucking depressing that this can be a contentious issue at all and frankly, it being one is a UNIQUELY American phenomenon in the developed world. It just is, and as an American I find the culture of anti intellectualism and extreme lack of science literacy extremely embarrassing. Some people accused me of ridicule and yes I get pretty dickish on this subject and I will ridicule people if I feel they're ridiculous, here's why it bothers me so much and for the record this was NOT my opinion or reaction before i spent 3 years educating myself from the only place one should ever learn about this subject or ANY subject of science. This is why I snap at people on this subject.
If you are adamantly against the scientific consensus of anthropogenic global warming and are convinced that every single person virtually who has devoted their life to studying the subject going back to 1861 when John Tyndall discovered the short wave infrared insulating properties of the carbon dioxide molecule, is wrong, quite simply, you don't know a fucking thing about the subject. You CAN'T know a fucking thing about the subject because the ONLY reliable source of information on any matter of science is the body of scientific literature and the instrumental record, and there is virtually ZERO support, I mean a fraction of a fraction of a percent in this almost two centuries of exhaustive accumulation of data and tireless study in all developed countries of the world that supports the denialist position (Project Consensus is the most concise of MANY meta analysis of the body of literature. The consensus is undeniable.....period).
This can mean the denialist can only be basing their opinion on one or more of a few things. A "gut feeling.", a smattering of outlying papers with poor citation indexes by scientists doing poor research who also have poor citation indexes often published in pay to publish or poor journals, or erroneous information from denialist blogs, mostly funded by petroleum industry funded "think tanks" who use the same tricks of cherry picking data points and misrepresenting good papers over and over again I can't fathom how people fall for it (Anthony Watts I'm looking at you.), and of course, politicians and pundits who don't know a fucking thing about the subject either.
Because I now know that the denialist position can only be arrived at by the aforementioned, combined with extreme credulity and the fact it's literally the most important challenge facing us as a species since we just barely made it out of Africa (Keep in mind climate change already drove us to the brink of extinction once before.) if you're a denialist (Yes. This is a pejorative term.) I hold your position beneath contempt. As beneath contempt as I can hold virtually any position and your position is so pervasive only in America because the media handles you with kid gloves for fear of alienating up to 35% of their audience and one particular media outlet has a complete conflict of interest as does the party they represent. THere are so many reasons I hold your position as far below contempt I couldn't even name them all but here's a good one.
What we have are us, dwellers of the first world living a comfortable life in a stable infrastructure that creates this problem as a byproduct and we're preventing action because of sheer ignorance or complacency due to our comparatively high level of comfort. The people who will suffer the most from this are not us. They're the third of the world living on the edge of perpetual starvation who have no infrastructure or safety net to fall back on. People who can only just hope that they can catch a fish or two out of the rising, acidifying ocean to eat and get enough water to make it through the next week and not get dysentery out of the drying up communal well fed by an aquifer that's about to be intruded on by saltwater from that rising ocean and will be undrinkable and useless for crop irrigation. The same sea level rise so many laughingly refer to as the pending explosion of new beach front properties will physically displace and ruin the drinking aquifers of millions of coastal residents all over the world. In north east Sudan you don't sit on your new beach front porch with the bottle of water you bought at 7-11. You die and your family dies because there is nowhere to go and you don't even have the resources to get there if there was somewhere for you. Our military is already making plans to deal with the explosion of 3rd world conflicts anticipated to break out due to massive coastal displacement and wars over simple drinking water. These are human beings who don't have the internet, who don't even know what's already happening, who won't see it coming, who don't have the resources to live past age 50 let alone uproot their entire families and set out for some strange land on foot that doesn't want them there anyways.
These people all over the world are not contributors to this very real problem, they're going to be crushed underneath it. This is going to happen because a minority percentage of one country of people who have comparatively everything, who per capita are contributing the most to this problem either don't want their utility bill to go up 25 dollars a month or don't believe the problem exists because they can't be bothered to look at it objectively. The rest of the world has been really clear that the United States has to lead the way because we contribute so much and have allowed this minority percentage to empower half our two party system to deadlock this issue for decades till the other day which was a tiny step. So that's why I don't treat you if you're one of that minority percentage with kid gloves, you need to be slapped and wake the fuck up because you're holding back our species as a whole by keeping this position politically viable in the one country that has to get the ball rolling but won't.
This truly is THE most daunting and serious challenge of our species, once again, in it's history and never have so few held so many back. If you're one of this few I don't even know what to say anymore. It's exasperating but I am, and rational people should be done with the bullshit neutrality bias nonsense that this issue has been treated with. Your position is RIDICULOUS, meaning deserving of ridicule. Anybody who thinks they should be entitled to their own facts on something this important is ridiculous. If you ridicule the last kid on the bus that still believes in Santa Clause, it's a safe bet he will probably look at that belief objectively sooner or later. Well 35% of the American population are officially the last kids on the bus who believe in Santa and I'm not going to act otherwise.

Damn Obama. I am impressed for once. Climate change.
Posted 11 years agoJust wanted to talk about what's been going on and with the executive order, the new coal power plant regulations and the broader context of what's been happening if anybody cares about this issue as much as i do. Mainly, because this IS important but also because it seems like both sides of the political fence are either pissed or somewhat pissed and I think people miss the big picture here.
IF you don't know what I'm talking about, Obama is signing an executive order that will require coal power plants to make a 30% emissions reduction by 2020, that's huge. I couldn't believe Obama actually stuck his neck out to do something progressive. I was already thrilled that under his administration the EPA got dominion over emissions under the clean air act which they had been trying to do but couldn't under the last guys reign. The EPA ruling was HUGE, and i waited for something to come of it...and waited, and waited.......and waited. Then finally something happened in this executive order. So i read up about it and notice that 2005 is the baseline for the 30%, and it was of course a peak year for emissions so it is NOT a 30% reduction from today's emissions, it's about a 15% reduction which is frankly, pretty fucking weak. Although theres been a 10% drop since 2005 just through other things so that's good.
But, liberals are pissed because they think it was trickery to use 2005 as the baseline standard which frankly is true. It was pretty stupid to do that. They could and should be doing WAY more. 30% from TODAY would be a great start. This isn't an issue that we should be treating with kid gloves.
Conservatives are pissed because they don't believe anthropogenic climate change is even a thing. Yeah...you might as well argue that the earth is flat. This science goes back to 1861 for fuck's sake. This viewpoint isn't even worth humoring frankly.
I think what people lose sight of is that what's far more important than this executive order is the fact that the EPA now has dominion over greenhouse emissions. This is far more important than the executive order because this gives future administrations the ability to side step congress and there will be many more emission reduction goals in the future and i couldn't be more thrilled, this is pretty much the first real hope we've seen in action and we should have taken action 40 years ago. The reason we DIDN'T take action was because people tried to go through congress. The scientists who study this had actually been trying to get congress to take it seriously going back to the 30's and they just didn't give a shit.
Other non problem countries have done little things here and there like long term reduction goals and carbon taxes but nothing big. If you've followed this it's basically the world won't do shit because the US wouldn't do shit. They basically say "Well you're the main offender. If you won't take a hit, why should we?", basically everybody has been sitting around waiting for us to do something, and we've done NOTHING...till now.
This could be huge, this could have a snowball effect with other countries rolling up their sleeves. China is bad but they're kicking our ass in long term reduction goals but this is the first good news i've heard on this subject in well, fucking ever, India is bad and i don't know what they're going to do but all we have to do is reduce emissions to a threshhold where more is absorbed back into the carbon budget, and if the developed and much of the developing world gets serious, I think this might be a turning point.
I think people demanding action on this who are pissed about the limited scope of the executive order should be less pissed. The US now has the power to do almost anything necessary for this, but easing into it with baby steps like this EO might just be the first of enormous gains on the issue to come and i'm fucking thrilled right now.
