School put me in the negative with my bank for awhile. Finally earned my first pay check and figured it would put it back into the positive...

as many of you know, I tried to make my life better by going to truck driving school. I've been out of work for three months, finding one other job that I should of kept longer then I did but it destroyed my hand and I was struggling with fatigue on the hours.

I'm not trying to play the 'woe is me' game or anything...But Suburban really screwed me. I trusted them to have me in and out in three weeks. I couldn't play around any longer then that. I took out a loan with my grandmother, who has been extremely helpful with me and I am thankful. I was able to pay off my bills for ONE MONTH on the loan she gave me and got us all set up and comfortable for a little while.

I made one stupid impulse buy because I am an idiot though....I won't share what it is but trust me when I say its fucking ridiculous. Then I bought this really good laptop to use for about 700. I paid off my car for two months (thats another headache I will share in a moment) and then our rent. I was suppose to start earning a steady paycheck by now, but thanks to Suburban....I couldn't.


I'm not trying to make excuses. Everyone doesn't need to hear that bullshit. But the fact of the matter is that I was barely able to even learn anything. The yard was CROWDED with people. It took me three weeks to just learn TWO maneuvers. I learned the pre-trip like the back of my hand but as they were telling me it was going to take longer and longer for me to get my CDL thanks to all these other students, I had to leave. They guaranteed it was going to take three weeks. And they lied. They lied majorly and now I am destitute. Luckily I found another job, but the wait game on starting that is making me panic. My girlfriend leaves this weekend on a small vacation and I don't want her to worry about me.


I know I should of stayed, but with my time limit being THREE WEEKS, I couldn't waste any more time then that. Not to mention the car place I bought mine from shut my damn car off on me two days after I returned home. Pretty much, they took the two month advance I gave them and pushed it to the principal value left on my vehicle, then said I was late on my bi-weekly payment. So they turned it off. Needless to say I was pissed. I was dependent on that two month advancement to be solid.

Guys, please, I don't want to beg but I have no other choice. Please PLEASE buy those YCH's from me or even commission something. Anything. I will be eternally grateful. I really will. Car place shut off my car. And even though I paid it in advance, they still shut it off for 'missed payment'....I am really second guessing my choices now.

Truck driving school really fucked me good.

So, here is the scenario:

Went to Romulus, Michigan to earn my CDL-A. First two weeks went down smooth. Was able to earn my CDL Learners Permit with no hitches, and was also able to learn the basic back up manuvuers and such....welllll, thats when shit started to break away.


Each class they would bring in each week was almost about 20-25 people. That's a lot of people coming in each week. We have exactly 5 days before that class ends up in the yard. So, with each week passing (as I was suppose to be there for just 3 weeks), the amount of people in the yard to occupy and learn with 3 different trucks was outrageous. In ten hours, you would be lucky to have four turns. So, seeing as this school had to keep pushing people in, and not able to keep up with kicking people out for their road exams, you can imagine that it got crowded very very quickly. Because my class was the smallest where we started at 20 to end up near the end being eight, you can see how easy it was for us to be pushed aside and just not able to go anywhere.

I ended up being pushed back by one week. I was suppose to graduate on the 29th (monday). They wanted to give me two extra weeks. I don't even know who's bright idea it was to believe people would be perfectly okay with being lied to and just being tossed aside like nothing. Scores were never right, they would purposely score grade people in the low to almost failing numbers to give the assumption that they were just not ready for the road. I can verify that the best driver in our group was scored to look like nothing but a wet-nosed greenhorn.

Long story short, I was scammed....Out of 6k dollars. Luckily. It wasn't all for nothing. I was able to find another school to go to and finish earning my CDL-A in November. The price is much cheaper too. I also have an interview for a transportation company this week so fingers crossed that it all goes well.

Moral to the story; if it sounds too good to be true....It is.

I’m selling my 21.5 inch iMac. It has 16gb of Memory and a brand new 500gb SSD (so it runs a lot faster then it used to before the original harddrive died. It’s perfect for digital artwork, photo manipulations and other stuff like the pros use. I’m willing to part with it for $1350. If you are interested, not me and I will send pictures. Since getting my laptop, it’s just gathering dust and when I start on the road, I won’t be using it as much as I used to.
