Starting today, there will be 7 hours of no power at my house. My electric company is adding more transformers where I live and starting at 9am, there will be interruptions and blackouts from 9am-7pm. This is going to be shitty...though I am gone most of that time. I'm just worried about my dogs getting too hot.

Know what? Fuck it, I am going to vent.


I don't do it normally so if you don't want to read a few pages of a long story that ruffles my tail feathers....move along.


So, a few months back, my 2006 Pt Cruiser decided to blow its water pump. I wasn't able to drive it due to leaking coolant everywhere but when I was able to get it into the shop, my mechanic told me that the head gasket was prepared (meaning it hadn't busted out JUST yet) but it was ready to give out too.


My Cruiser had 240000 miles on it, only about 37000 miles were mine when I got it back in 2013. I got the car shortly after I lost my motorcycle (which I miss everyday and hopefully can look into another one in the next few years) so I couldn't really be picky on what I could get. So, despite I didn't like the high milage, my dad pushed me to go towards it since I could have it paid off in about 5 years.


So, I bought it and took extremely good care of it. I babied it so much that my car fax was nearly flawless. Only got one ticket in it when I came back from Kentucky when I went to visit  anyadesmond. It made it down to Kentucky and back just fine. It was a great car.

When I was told the head gasket was turning to shit, I so desperately saw this as my opportunity to tear out the motor, replace nearly everything and do the same with the transmission and make it chug along for many many years. I loved that car.

But nearly everyone I told, including my dad, shot me down. All except my girlfriend. Which is BULLSHIT. My dad has a 75 volkswagon beetle just rotting away in the back yard of his house which he was suppose to 'renovate' and turn into a show car. When I explained I wanted to turn mine into a show car, he pretty much turned it down saying it wasn't worth it.

So, I demanded he explain what was so different about wanting to replace my car's spoiled parts and such so it could live longer, and possibly turning it into a show car when I was good and able to while his POS beetle was full of dust and stray cats who crawled in through rust holes in the floor boards?

I heard every excuse in the book. So I sold it so I wouldn't hear it anymore

He wants me to get certain vehicles and keeps pushing me towards different ones and dealers. But I am ignoring them. A part of growing up and being an adult is knowing what decisions are going to work for me. So i am doing this on my own. Whatever I get, is what I get. because so far people telling me what to do is fucking me greatly over.

Like the only one who supports me on building my own show car is my girlfriend....


Is that sad? I think thats sad.
