I'm back!
Posted 10 years agoHowdy everyone, sorry I been even less active than normal for the past month. I've had a few major events during that time, primarily a temp job I had that left me mentally drained every day. But thankfully that job is finished.
Now I have moved to my own place in San Antonio and just begun work on master's and acting as a TA at UTSA,
Next order of business, I want to thank all my new watchers. I'd been holding off uploading stuff until I finished up a little smut story I was writing. Finally managed to have both the time and drive to finish it. So prepare you inboxes for an influx of coyote!

A: Arriving Thursday afternoon leaving Sunday evening as soon as the furry drama show is over. (I already dread the drive back.)

A: I'm going to be at the dealer's den and artist alley as soon as they open Friday, then I'll be running around from panel to panel. The only places you'll definitely be able to find me are Buck Hopper's voice acting panel, the fursuit parade, and the first bit of karaoke before I slide off to the dances. I may be in the lounge downstairs if I have any down time.

A: I'm probably going to bring my own snacks. However, I'm going to catch some other yotes to join the coyote breakfast. (I have know idea where we're headed, but we're scavengers so we'll survive.)

My grandfather's name was Havelock. My middle name came from my mother trying to find a Nordic word that translated to coyote. The closest she could get was "Song Dog."

Single, not looking, but I have a one night every once in a while.

Skilled in hoodoo, one of the newer abilities I've developed from it to breathe out large clouds of wood smoke.

Headed to Oklacon and I bought a fursuit
Posted 11 years agoTomorrow to I'm headed out to Oklacon. (I just realized how bad I've been about announcing when I'm headed to events.) If anyone else is going to be there just look for the cowboy wearing plate armor under his coat. I'm a little nervous since this is the first time I'll be attending this con.
I saw a great opportunity and bought a partial fursuit last week. I'd been saving up to buy one since TFF. When I saw
Tsebresos was auctioning off one of her old partials to which she would make minor airbrushing modifications. Initially I lost the auction but then the winner had to back out. So I've got a red wolf partial on its way and it should be waiting for me when I get back from Oklacon. I'm extremely excited to see it.

Posted 11 years agoI apologize for anything in this journal seeming strange. I'm another journal using my phone before I crash on my friend's couch.
Long story short, I'm attending a week long (pups a few days) SCA event so the only internet access I'll have will be my phone and I'll probably only be able to check it a couple of times a day. Probably very early and very late.
For those that are interested in listening to a coyote drone on about the details, this all started back in March while I was at an event called Gulf Wars. It's the big Society for Creative Anachronism that takes place in the Southeast. That was the first inter-kingdom event I attended. While I was there I met a wonderful group called Moonshadow that took me in under their wing. I fought along side them and quickly learned to fight scutum. I managed to fit in so well with them that they invited me to join them at Lilies War. I was honored by their invitation but didn't know if I would be able to attend until a couple of weeks ago.
Currently I'm crashing on one of their couches after driving across a third of Texas and half Oklahoma I'm exhausted and could not make the make the rest of the drive to the site in Missouri. (Remind me to get a book on tape if I do decide to go to Oklacon.)
We should be headed out for site in the morning tomorrow once everything gets packed. After we get settled in I plan on catching a few classes between the fights and enjoying myself at the parties afterward.

Gone to Warlord XLI
Posted 11 years agoSorry if I'm not very easy to contact this weekend. I currently at a Society for Creative Anachronism fighting tournament to determine the next Warlord. I'm typing this on my phone so if a word seems odd blame autocorrect. I've got a snowball's chance in hell so this is mainly a chance to get to fight against people I don't normally fight.
This also makes it one year since I first competed in a SCA event. I've really enjoyed my first year and looking forward to many more!

Posted 11 years agoBachelor of Science that is. After all these years of working on it I’ve finally finished my undergrad. I'm very relieved to have finished it.
I finally graduated last weekend. I apparently channeled a bit of my fursona during it since I brought a little bit of chaos to the ceremony. As part of a family tradition, I snuck a pair of spurs into the ceremony down the front of my boots and put them on while the president was giving his speech. My classmates sitting next to me found this hilarious. While walking across the stage the spurs made a little bit of noise that was mostly unnoticeable. However, the down ramp off of the stage was angled just right to catch the rasp at the back of the spurs. This caused the spurs to make a long loud ringing with every step that everyone on the stage and the first few rows heard. This was so loud that the college president completely turned around to see what was causing the racket. My classmates sitting next to me and I found this absolutely hilarious.
After the ceremony my family and and many of my friends got together at my house to celebrate. We all had a great time.
My current plans are to go back to working for a veterinary lab in town for a few months so I can let my brain take a break before I start to work on my graduate degree. I’m still working on my applications since I'm planning on starting to go for it during the spring semester.

He has the same name as my Society for Creative Anachronism persona. I got the first part of that name from a character from the Discworld series. The rest I got from looking at nordic names.

He's a coyote with some polar bear ancestry. I chose a coyote since they're crazy but resourceful little bastards. The polar bear ancestry started out as a joke a friend made about my unusual cold tolerance for a Texan. Afterwards I though about it, and decided to include it in my fursona.

He has natural colors. It's just that the pattern is a little unnatural. I like the natural colors coyotes have, but I wanted to play with the shapes so that he looks different enough to pick out of a crowd.

He's a trickster and enjoys causing some harmless chaos. I'm a lot more shy and usually try to keep my head down. However, both him and I dislike having to put a large amount of trust in others unless we known them. Even then we try to prepare for in case something unexpected causes them to fail.

His blue and white drover coat. I've made it in in RL as the first costume piece I made for myself.
