Metroid Pirates: Finished! Mostly.
Posted 4 years agoAnd now that I look at the title, I probably should have called it "Pirate" singular, but what're you going to do?
A-nyway, it's done and posted! Mostly! There's an epilogue coming, but the wait is a little bit of letting anyone that's been following so far read the last two chapters, and anyone that might catch wind of it catch up. I do also want to apologize to anyone that has maturity filters on, or what have you, as the story went in and out of general and mature a few times. It's only ever for violence, and while not particularly graphic, I preferred to play it safe lest I be smote. If you're someone that missed chapters because of this and enjoyed the story, I encourage you to come back when you're able to look at the mature content, even if you have to wait a few (more?) years for it.
Speaking of years and looking back, I didn't realize I posted the first part of Redux...literally five years ago?! I didn't even plan this, I swear. Maybe the last chapter name is apt to a T...Night owl that I am, I'll be posting the epilogue as soon as I've gotten sleep, since this afternoon it will be five years to the minute that Redux started. A-nd it means I regret not having finished it sooner that much more, considering how long it's taken me.
I do plan on writing more Pirate(s) stories in the future, though I'm also going to see about starting something entirely my own. No guarantees, but the first one may or may not revolve around a few characters familiar to anyone that's finished the Pirates story, but in a high-magic fantasy setting instead of sci-fi future. They'd obviously not be quite the same characters they were in the Metroid universe due to copywrite, though most of them won't go too far from what they are in that universe.
Regardless of the next thing outside of more Metroid Pirates being that, or one of a few other ideas, it may be a long while before I set anything substantive to paper that I want to post up anywhere. One thing I learned after getting most of the way through Metroid Pirates is that it's a lot easier to make adjustments when you realize you forgot or "oopsed" something when you haven't shown it to anyone yet. And yes, there were a number of things that I ended up forgetting along the way that I had to adjust for, though some of those actually altered the story in ways I liked more in the end.
However, don't be too surprised to see short stories now and again in preparation for the Pirates crew's altered debut as I work on building the world they'll be adventuring in. No guarantee on how soon you'll be seeing any of that, either, as there're no leads currently on where I'm starting with it. Considering how much of a roll I'm on though, at least for the moment, you might see them sooner than even I realize!
Either way, thanks to everyone who's come along for the ride, I hope you have enjoyed/will enjoy the last two chapters, and as soon as it's up, the epilogue!

The state of things written, and more!
Posted 5 years agoKind of an "I'm still alive" post for those few that have any idea who I am. Still here and kickin, just haven't been feeling the urge to write for an extended period. Or more that I've been stuck on my Metroid: Redux story. Don't worry though, there is and will be more of it once I've worked through this block. I think I mentioned at one point trying to keep a chapter finished that I'd save for posting if I got hung up, and just never got around to doing it. That'll be up in the next day or two, I promise.
I've also decided to take up drawing again after a long time of not, spurred by some recent shenanigans. It feels really good, but I'm still really bad. Practice and all that, and I look forward to the day that I can put to paper the things my mind comes up with. No guarantees on when any of that will be appearing here.
Think that's all for now. Be good out there, to yourselves and each other, striving always to be the best you can be. Oh, and try to follow the "golden rule" of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. I imagine we'd all be happier if everyone kept that in mind more often. *warm grin, mock salute*

Stuff
Posted 8 years agoLargely doing this to clear out the last one, but a bit of rambling.
Further chapters (portions?) of my Metroid fan-fic nonsense will likely be a fair bit longer than most of the rest. There were one or two before Reprieve that I cut into halves before putting up since I wanted to keep them at about the same size. I later realized that Redux was, in fact, longer than any of the rest and to some extent the next couple didn't really feel like they could be chopped up. To Bryyo and Corruption were originally one whole that really could have stayed that way, and was titled what ended up coming after both, Daughter of Bryyo.
With the cutting up, I ended up with two chapters at once, but rather than throwing both out there at the same time I've been keeping one waiting in the wings while I write the next. By and large this is in case I hit a dry spell creatively so that I'll have something to put up. It also allows for changes to the aforementioned waiting chapter, since while I have rough ideas of things I want to happen, the details tend to come about while I'm typing away. Reprieve may have been a bit shorter, save that a simple retrieval turned into something more.
I'm pretty sure I was going to throw more out here, but can't think of it offhand. I'm sure it'll come to me later on for no discernible reason, at which point I'll edit this.
Either way, enjoy the story, and constructive criticism is always appreciated.

Do I need a subject? NOWAI!
Posted 18 years agoOk well, maybe I do, but I never know what to talk about, if I will talk about it, or...something.
...PANCAKES!
Randomness done, I hope. Now for odd things!
I have ideas in my head, they want out, I never take the time to do it. (And come to think of it, in my mild distraction, I'm not sure who'll even be reading this. *snicker* Randomness not ended!)
Ok, I think this is/has become a place for me to just be odd in "public" for a bit. I'm also nearly asleep as it is. x.x
